    Hello Divya,
I think the SAP Solution Manager provides a functionality to create customizing templates. Hope you find something in the Docs: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/ae/64c33af662c514e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">SAP Solution Manager</a>.

  • Global template and rollouts vs. Solution Directory

    Hello,
I would like to know what is the best way to maintain the global template and the related rollouts documentation.
I know the functionality of Solution Directory, ie. it should be the primary place to maintain a solution in production, changes should be done using maintenance project, checking out scenarios etc. However, my customer is running into a couple of challenges. The current situation is as follows:
    - The global template phase I has been finished (containing financial template).
    - The global template phase II development is starting (containing logistics template).
    - The phase I template has been rolled out to five countries which all are in production.
    - The phase I template will continue with new rollouts coming.
    - All the country-specific rollouts are actually in one physical SAP system so there is only one system to be maintained.
I see it somehow impossible to try to maintain the template + rollout documentation in one single solution in Solution Directory. There is only one Documentation tab in the solution and if we put all the country-specific documentation there it is a mess. Furthermore, all the rollout projects are separate, it would be difficult to manager rollout projects with one maintenance project. Not to add the fact the compare and adjust functionality applies only to template projects not solution.
I have the feeling that we would need continue maintaining the global template and rollout projects in SolMan Implementantion projects (template + rollout projects, template versions, compare and adjustment etc.). Only if I want to start process monitoring I would use solution but otherwise it cannot be very much utilized at the moment.
Any comments? Have I missed something here now? I would appreciate any practical experiences about this.
    Br,
    Timo

    Hi Timo -
The situation you are experiencing is similar to what I have seen.  And that is...ensuring Solution Directory is the "Single source of the Truth".  It is almost impossible when you have two parallel activities going on between 1) SAP implementation projects and 2) SAP maintainence/sustain activities in production.
Solution Manager seems to be a great tool for companies that are in a sustain mode, resolving issues when found in production.  We recently decided to change our approach from SAP's recommended and best practice of using the Solution Directory connected to a Maintainence project and implementation projects being seperate rollout initiatives managed seperately.  Instead, we have changed our "Solution Manager Landscape" to encompass all activites into a 1 template project.  We now don't plan on going back to the SAP best practice of Solution Manager until we are completely done implementing SAP and we have identified what our true business processes are.  For example: creating the Business Process Hierarchy.

  • Difference between ASAP methodology and ASAP Road Map

    hi
Difference between ASAP methodology and ASAP Road Map
    amk

    ASAP Roadmap
The ASAP Roadmap provides the methodology for implementing and continuously optimizing your SAP System. It divides the implementation process into five phases and offers detailed Project Plans to assist you (in Microsoft Project format). The documentation stored at each level of the Roadmap tree structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools and accelerators.
    Check the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/48/623972d55a11d2bbf700105a5e5b3c/content.htm
    ASAP Methodology:
Accelerated SAP Deals with the Implementation Process Cycle in 5 Different Process...!!!
    Project Preparation:
The first step in ASAP is Project Preparation. In this step the Functional Consultant will analyse the business process and define the system for SAP and will give the time line for the project. The Manpower required and the budgets are also considered in this step.
    Blue Print Preparation:
This is second step in ASAP Methodology. In this step the Project Preparation scenarios are finalised. A out line of the Project is given in this step.
    Realisation:
In this step actual development is taken place. The ABAPer is responsible for this step.
    Testing:
In this step the development done by the abaper is being tested. This is the area where the Unit Test Document is prepared (i.e. Positive Testing and Negative Testing).
    GO live and Support:
This is the final stage where the project is running in the live environment. In this step the bugs if any that are found in the go live procedure are fixed and the project will be considered as support project.

  • Edits will not be saved. Any Edits made to the enterprise global template items are only available during this session.

    Hi,
I am getting a pop-up message(Edits will not be saved. Any Edits made to the enterprise global template items are only available during this session.Make edits in checked-out enterprise global template to make them
available for all users of this project server) when trying to insert a new column in the Gannt Chart View.
Due to this what all are the columns that inserted in the project plan, will be lost when open the project in the next time.
I have opened the Enterprise Global Template and cross checked for Gaant Chart view it is showing the table as "Entry" only.
The requirement is what all columns are required for the project plan, manager will insert in the project first time. Next time on-wards it needs to be display the columns when opened the project from server by default.
We are unable to reproduce this issue in our Dev Envt.
Could anyone of you please help me.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
I suggest to remove Gantt Chart view and Entry table from Eglobal. These are default views from client and it is highly recommended to not use them in Enterprise Global.
Whatever a user ist doing on a view or table which is included in Enterprise Global will be reset on next open - therefore you receive this message.
If you need some server wide defined views and tables, create them. But remove Gantt Chart and Entry.
    Does that help?
    Regards
    Barbara

  • What are global templates in SAP SD?

I was trying to know abt global templates and how they are used in SD

    Hi
A Support Package contains a collection of error corrections. You can only import complete Support Packages and in a specified sequence. Each correction in a Support Package is documented in an SAP Note
SAP Notes give you instructions on how to remove known errors from SAP Systems. They include a description of the symptoms, the cause of the error, and the SAP Release and Support Package level in which the error occurs.
Depending on the type of error, an SAP Note may also include:
    · Workarounds
    · Descriptions of how to correct repository objects in the ABAP workbench, known as correction instructions
    · Links to Support Packages that solve the problem
You can access SAP Notes both from the SAP Service Marketplace and SAPNet - R/3 Frontend

  • Localization of global template

    Hi,
have any body is idea about the Localization of the Global Template for US, Spain and Finland.
modules are PA, OM and Recruitment
    regards
    Honey

    Hi,
This is very specific question to your company:
    1. First of all due to design of global template and freedom to change/update it.
    2. Due to the scope defined in global template.
You find country specifics for all countries supported by SAP on help.sap.com. These specifics should be respected. Then you can say you localized global template.
    Cheers

  • Crawled Property OFFICE:7 (document template) is not crawled and thus not mapped to managed property

    Hi,
our customer (SharePoint Enterprise 2013) wants to crawl the information which Office template was used for creation of a Word/Excel/PowerPoint file for refining in his searchcenter.
We did some research on that topic and found out, that this information should be crawled in the buildin crawled category OFFICE in the crawled porperty 7. But so far any attempts to get any mapping working on this crawled property have been insufficient/frustrating...
    What we did:
Map the crawled property to the RefinableString00 Refiner, add this refiner to the refiner web Panel and then do a full crawl. So far the refiner does not show up, and when using the "Query tool" we see that the managed property is empty and not
filled. For Debugging I tried to map nother crawled property to this refiner OFFICE:2 => Title of OFFICE:4 => Author which worked out just fine. So the refiner configuration seems to work but the crawler somehow does not seem to get the template Information
out of my documents. I even opened the uploaded word documents in Word to control if the template Information is correctly readable and you can see in the properties of the file, that normal.dot is filled out.
We even controlled the properties of the crawled property, it´s "isMappedToContents" is set to true.
with Kind regards, I really Do hope someone has a clue
    David

All the content which is crawled will be part of search results by default including all the data in the list and documents. Mapping crawl property with Managed property helps if you want to execute a keyword query : Title(column)=SharePoint or
    Title;SharePoint
You will typically need to do this kindda mapping if you want to
    1. filter data based on column in Advanced Search Web Part
    2. Add your custom column as part of search results on result page.
    3. Add column based FILTER on Search result page.

  • Difference in integration of  ROAD MAP and FPM Technic

    Hi,
I need to develop a web dynpro java application using floor plan manager technique. It should be integrated in the ESS.
Please let me know if i develop the same application in webdynpro abap using ROAD MAP control whether it will integrate in ESS or not.
In case If it sinks let me know what are the functionalities that differ.
    Thanks,
    Hasini.

    Hi GLM,
    Thanks for quick response.
All the present ESS applications are developed in webdynpro java by using floor plan manager(FPM) technique. As I am not much aware of java I  developed the same application in webdynpro abap using ROAD MAP technique. I observed in SDN that road map and floor plan manager are different.
I would like to know whether this application integrate in ESS? If so are there any differneces in functionalities.
    Thanks,

Road map technique and Floor Plan Manager Technique, both are different.
The FloorPlan Manager is a tool for constructing WD applications with a similar layout and user interface.
The OIF and the Guided Activity Floorplan (GAF) are the types of FPM.
Editing of a single business object is done by OIF and  allows the nesting of header and item details. The GAF, uses a road map  technique for the step by step activity to be performed.
The FloorPlan Manager is very powerful because it can be configured using component and application configuration - allowing you to plug in different UI Building Blocks (UIBB) as Web Dynpro Components or Views. The robust nature of the FPM is becasue of the Consistency between applications provided by it.
The Road Map is  a UI element in WD used to create your own custom applications.
