Global UI Icon/Control Scale

I work on a 30" monitor and the icons in the UI are pretty small. Is there a way to globally scale up these UI icons/controls?

The response is no.
As far as I know, changing the resolution on LCD monitors is often unavailable so you will have to live with it … or enter the System's Preferences Pane entitled "Universal Access" and set the Zoom feature to fit your needs.

Lighting Effects opens, but no icons/control

When I open lighting effects in CS6, there are none of the resizing/repositioning icons [controls, widgets, whatever you want to call them] that I see in all the tutorials (and remember from previous versions of Photoshop). The Lighting Effects Properties window opens on the right, but no amount of fiddling produces any change in the image. Even if I choose a preset, my image is still just a useless darkened version of its former self (and still no icons appear).
BTW, I am running Windows 7 on a quad core laptop with a supported video card (Radeon HD 6520G), so this problem should have nothing to do with that.
Any ideas?

CS6 Lighting Effects requires a video GPU you may want to check your GPU settings. The screen should look something like this.

Disappearing Icons/Controls in Blur Gallery and Lighting Effects Filters

About a month ago (after I downloaded Photoshop 2014 but BEFORE the most recent update); I found that the adjustable tack icon (in Field Blur) and the light icons (in Lighting Effects) have disappeared. I can still adjust their controls but they don't appear on the screen so I'm not sure where exactly they are and thus can't move them. Anyone else had this issue? This has persisted after the most recent update.

Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?
What are the Performance Preferences?
What have you done for general trouble-shooting so far (restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be of special interest)?

Edit: Have you tried changing the GPU "Advanced Settings" (and restarting Photoshop, otherwise that won’t take effect)?

Changing Slide Control Scale Range

I am creating a program that will allow the user to select a range of time over which data will be analyzed. Is there a way to set the slide control range to start at the beginning of the data set (t0) and go to the time at the end (tf)? I can change the values using a property node, but the values are for the start and stop and increments are doubles.

Change the format for the digital display. The tip strip will be formatted the same as the digital display.
So far, you have only changed the scale format.

Changing icons & Controls does not work- Help needed

When changing the theme in "theme preferences" only the window borders change... The icons and window controls remains as the same boring default.
Does anybody have a solution to the problem?

Update: A nice little reboot fixed the problem. It may have been because I added fam to the startup...
i always use ... "switch" and "switch2" from pacman. they're small programs to switch gtk/gtk2 themes... I don't have the whole gnome package so that works well for me.

Global button icons

I want to have a global button which allows the user to print any page. The event handler for the button will use the <showFacet> event handler element. I'd like to have a 'printer' icon but couldn't find one in the icon repository on the BLAF website. Is there one available? If not what 'rules' does one have to conform to so that Tecate renders correctly? If I'm talking gibberish then please forgive me as I'm pretty new to icons!

I'm not sure why there is no printable page icon in the BLAF repository -- I'll ask the BLAF people.
To prototype until then, I'd suggest taking the image of one of the other global buttons and either use that or change it a bit in a paint program.

Global MIDI assignments/control in Logic

I want to be able to control CC7 with Slider #1 and CC1 with Slider #2 with my MotifXS in Logic. I want these to be global so that no matter what instrument I’m on they control CC7 and CC1. So essentially control the automation on volume and modulation on the MIDI track that is currently record enabled. I have it now that with slider #1 I can control the overall output of one instance Kontakt but I want to be able to control CC1&CC7;of the individual instruments within that instance. (one at a time while they are record enabled.) Thanks in Advance!

You can see them using ⌘-K, summoning the *Controller Assignments List*.
But how did you get them in the first place? Whenever you hit ⌘-L (learn mode), whatever next MIDI event you play will be 'learned' by Logic and used for whatever it is assigned to in this list, also meaning it won't be used as a note message anymore. It is a very common 'starters' problem. Just remember that Logic has over a thousand key commands, so any key you hit inadvertently might well do something in, with or to Logic. And it is not hard to hit the L when aiming for the O or P or ; ....
You can delete the assignments by simply selecting them in the *Controller Assignments List* and hitting delete. Better than trashing prefs.

Where did my volume icon go,
I would check to make sure it didn’t somehow get removed from the system tray.
In order to do this:
Press the Windows key and X simultaneously.
Select Control Panel.
Select Notification Area Icons.
From this screen you’ll see several icons. Find Volume and make sure the behaviors are set to
Show icon and notifications.
Select OK.
If the behaviors were not set appropriately and you made the above change, then the icon should reappear.
In the event that the icon still not appear, it may be a driver issue and you’ll need to look at your hardware manufacturer’s website to see if there is an updated driver that you need to download and install.

My iphone 5 crashes when I click the global keyboard icon

I have Emoji enabled and whenever I go on my keyboard and click the mesh globe icon to access it, my iphone closes the app and takes me back to the menu. This has happened on every app that requires a keyboard, from Instagram to SMS to even Snapchat and Vine. As you can imagine this is very annoying. I have tried turning it on and off, resetting it by pressing down on lock and sleep button at the same time and I have re-installed Emoji twice. At first I thought this was the result of water damage since I was texting in the rain but I shined a light on the water detector and it didn't come up with any colour.
Is there a way to fix this??

Quit the mail app like I describe then reset your phone.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Globally setting icon for a file type

I've been using LilyPond a lot recently. The .ly files it saves don't have their own icon, though, they just get the generic document icon. I know that I can manually set an icon for a single file using 'Get Info', but it's not practical now because I have so many .ly files. Is there a way I can tell OS X to use my own icon every time it sees a .ly file?

Hi, Stephen.
If by LilyPond you mean this application, it's the application's responsibility to assign the custom icon for files it creates, e.g. .ly files you edit and save in LilyPond. You might want to send feedback concerning this to the developers. However, as I understand the application based on a quick review of its manual, it can work with any plain-text (ASCII) file.
You can change the default application in which all .ly files open by using the instructions in "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Changing the application that opens a document." That may result in those files bearing the same icon as the LilyPond application. That is also the mechanism by which a given icon is assigned to all files of a given type.

Icon name as Global variable

Hi,
In my forms i can set a single static icon name for a button. Is it possible to give the icon name as global variable name to change the icon of the button dynamically by changin the value of the global variable.
Using set_item_property i can change. But it seems tough to implement in my forms.

What's the problem with set_item_property??
You can use the global variables to store the name of icon file to associate with the button.
But, ultimately you'll have to use the set_item_property to reflect the changes dynamically.
set_item_property(<block.item name>,ICON_NAME,:global.<icon file name>);
I don't think, by just setting global variables you can get your requirement to work.
You'll have to use set_item_property, if you want to change the icon file name dynamically.

Scale Object with Panel, but what about inside a Tab control?

The Scale Object with Panel option works very well for simple UI
objects. I like to use it for VIs that display tables or
multicolumn listboxes, etc. I am finding a limitation when I use
the Tab control. If I have a table or listbox in each tab, I
would like them to scale with the panel. I would also like the
tab to scale. It should look like an Excel workbook where all
sheets scale with the window even though they are each on their own
tab. If I could only Group the various tables / lists with the
Tab itself....
This wouldn't be such an issue if the Bounds property of the
multicolumn listbox was writable. I can set the number of rows
and columns, but column size can be variable and not uniform across all
columns. Also, that solution looks and behaves much different
from the Scale Object with Panel approach.... not to mention the extra
coding required.
I'm guessing that this amounts to a feature request, but if anyone has a present-version workaround, I'd love to hear about it.

My problem is that i cannot select "Scale object with pane" for the controls inside a Tab control if the Tab control "Scale object with pane" is turned on. I want both the Tab control and the controls inside to be scaled, for instance an Waveform graph or an textbox when i resize my main window.

Status icons on tabstrip controls

I have a problem displaying the status icon on a tabstrip control.
I've created an infotype. On the tabstrip control, I've added texteditors and status icons.The status icon is there as an indication to state whether there is information populated in the texteditor.
The texteditors all have information populated in them. Whenever I run the infotype on PA30, the status icon does not appear. It only appears when I click on the texteditor button which is not what i want it to do.
On PA30,I would like the ICON to appear when there is information in the texteditor and not when I click on the texteditor button.
Please advice me on how to fix this problem.

Status icons in table controls

Hi,
   i've included status icons inside my table control with an aim to show appropriate status depending on a value of a column (wa_tab-posted).
all i want is that if a line in the table control has the value of wa_tab-posted as 'Y'. the status icon should be RED and Green if not posted ( wa_tab-posted = 'N'.)
so far i have only been able to get a common status icon color based on the last line of the table control.
ie: if the last line of my table control has the value of wa_tab-posted as 'N' then all the status icons show GREEN,,, even the ones where wa_tab-posted is 'Y'.
how do i set unique status icons for each individual lines.
Please advice.
