Global Web Applets and My Custom Home Page Report

Hello,
I setup a custom "My Home Page Report" which is great but does not display the report when you load the home page without clicking the "Generating analysis... Click here to view the results" link. Is there a way around this?
I then setup a a Global Web Applet and embedded this on the main home page. When doing this I found you cannot have 1 section that spans the entire width of the page as you can with a report (To my knowledge?). I then tried putting two Custom Web Applets side by side to display the graph and report I wanted. This works however, I have vertical scroll bars although the reports are perfectly displayed and do not require any scrolling. Is there a way to get rid of the scroll bars?

Innoveer, you can contact customer care and ask them to provision your On Demand application with the custom homepage "Execute Report Immediately" option. However, you want to make sure that this custom report loads quickly - if not it will delay the loading of your homepage.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Your More system details list show that you run the latest Firefox 4.0.1 version.<br />
You can check that via Help > About Firefox and on the Help > Troubleshooting Information page.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

If you posted from another computer then download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Javascript to Display message and return to home page

I have a requirement to display an acknowledgement message after a button has been pressed and return to home page.
I created some JS and tested on a standalone button.

Now the problem is I need to call this code after I have successfully executed 2 Processes conditionally on a Create Authorisation Button

Home page report doesn't automatically generate

user has to click on link before report generates. how can i get the report to pregenerate like all the other home page reports

Phone customer care and ask them to turn on the "Execute report immediately" option and then edit your home page report web applet and there will be a tick box to execute it immediately.

Unable to retrieve Home page report immediately after log in

I Created a new report and made it as a Homepage report. But unlike the other delivered home page report it is not giving the data immediately, It says "Generating analysis... Click here to view the results" and once I click this link I get the prview. Can you please let me know what the issue is?

Ondemand support would generally be able to set this option "ON" to load immediately if you raise a request
On the other hand if you deliver the report through iframe, then it gets loaded automatically

When I open firefox, the web address ishows my chosen home page but the window shows "untitled" and I am unable to connect to any site to the internet.

I chose the New York Times site to be my home page and when I open Firefox this address appears in the web address panel. But in the tab box it says "untitled" and I don't connect to any web page. I have tried reloading firefox, nothing seems to work. How can I stop this?

Popup window and navigate to home page visual web part SP 2013

I've a visual webpart where i am inserting items in the list in the button click event as below

Firefox will not support web dynpro on my employers home page and it use to

My employer uses web dynpro and has for awhile now. When I try and look at my our e-payroll site it says my browser does not support web dynpro.... why now when it always worked before???

I had this problem as well, but was able to solve it using this procedure:
- Close firefox from the menu (don't use the 'x' as firefox may continue to run in memory for a while)
- in your start menu, enter the following into the "run" prompt: firefox.exe -P
- The firefox profile manager will open (see attached image)
- In my case I deleted the "default" profile because I didn't care about losing any settings. You may want to simply create a new profile instead in case you need to save your settings.
- To avoid being asked about which profile to be used you can highlight your new profile and then make sure the "Don't ask at startup" checkbox. When ready, press the "Start Firefox" button.
- Voila! That fixed it for me. Like I said, I just created a new "default" profile and everyone worked fine for me; use your own judgement here.

Need to create custom home page for iProcurment.

I have an issue in iProcurment.
i have modified the Menu name from "Requisitions" to "My Requisitions" in custom responsibility "XX iProcurment" its a replica of standard iProcurment responsibility.
then i clear the Cache and bounce the middle tire even though the changes are not reflecting. But when i do the same changes in the standard iProcurment responsibility then i am able to see the changes.

How to network install latest firefox with custom home page

I'm trying to figure out how to do a network install with the latest firefox, but customized to have the default home page setup for the companies intranet web portal. I have several thousand computers that need the installation and pushing via network is the only realistic method, but I can't find a solution on how to change the home page for this. Please help!

Photoshop Web Gallery - how to include home page link

I have included a web gallery (created in Photoshop) to my website. Everything works fine; however, after scrolling through the photos there isn't a link to help return to the site's home page. The only option is to click the back arrow many times until you get there. Any ideas how to do this?

Your IE7 settings may be the same as mine, for which I generally keep the Pop-Up Settings fitering level to "High", thus blocking all pop-ups. At this level, I find all of Geoff's links for his Aerial Photos (but curiously not those on other pages) and text links on the Links page are treated as pop-ups. At the Medium level that automatically blocks "most" pop-ups, all links open to a new window for me. IE7 treats all links creating new windows or tabs as pop-ups, and you can control how they behave by changing the Tabbed Browser Settings options for "When a pop-up is encountered". Here's how to get there:
IE7 Tools Menu (or Control Panel) > Internet Options > General tab page > Click "Settings" in the Tabs category and then check the option desired in the resulting dialog.

Making an entrance page and an index (home) page query?

Hi All,
I've not done anything this way before but for a uni web design and development assignment, I've to firstly design a website with all the theory and how it will all come together.
Therefore, I'm wanting mine to be a little different from the generic kind and whilst I'm basing my subject matter on Tigers and the several species of, I'm creating an entrance page in fireworks that is the following;
I'm planning on sectioning up and placing hotspots around the interior of the tiger body, this will enable viewers to select and go to set pages like "about" "tiger zone" "contact" and so on.
However, I still need a traditional-ish homepage but I'm unsure how to make it that whilst people come in via the entrance page ( as above and the main url) whenever they've left this page to go in to the main homepage, they don't return via any of the main sites navigation menu / links back to this entrance page, is this possible in anyway?
I'm trying to get my own head around this and I have spent a number of hours researching this issue but I cannot find any resource that is anything like what I'm needing to do.

Yes, 2nd landing page will be the 'traditional' homepage.
This case, the tiger page will have to be 'index.php' so it'll load when your site is entered in a browser. Why PHP - we'll get to that in a bit.
Let us use, lets say a cookie to see if the user has already been on your index.php (which is your tiger page). If they already have, they will be taken to index2.html (the 2nd homepage - which doesn't have to be php as we aren't using any cookies/ sessions here).
Something like this should work:

This should be placed at the very top of your tiger index page which is your initial homepage when users enter your site.
This is how it works:
homepage - the defined name for this cookie
1 - enables the cookie
time() - expiration value for the cookie. The value suffixed with 'time()' is for 1 year - meaning the cookie will remain active for 1 year. If you want it to exist until the browser is closed, set it 0 like this:
setcookie('homepage', 1, 0, '/', '.yourdomain.com');
The / next to time is the areas within your domain that the cookie is available for. / denotes higher most domain path. This is useful if your index.php file (main splash page) is located within the main domain root itself. If not, if it is located somewhere like yourdomain.com/tigerhome, set that to this:
setcookie('homepage', 1, time() + 365*24*60*60, '/tigerhome/', '.yourdomain.com');
Please notice the trailing and prefix slashes for the folder value
yourdomain.com - is the main value of your domain itself. Please note the prefixed dot [.] before the yourdomain.com.
How the header works:
   header('Location: http://yourdomain.com/another_page.html');
If the cookie called 'homepage' exists, then when the user is trying to load index.php, the header condition is read by the browser first. If it is true, the user is taken to another_page.html. If not, the user is allowed to continue viewing index.php page.
The reason we have this at the very top is because when the user attempts to load up index.php page, you dont want the content to be shown before redirect happens. Hence, the header condition along dependant on the cookie is first read by the browser.
If you want custom time setting - maybe 1 day, set it to this:
setcookie('homepage', 1, time() + 1*24*60*60, '/', '.yourdomain.com');
5 hours, this:
setcookie('homepage', 1, time() + 1*5*60*60, '/', '.yourdomain.com');
And so on...
Note: The cookie will expire if the user clears browser cookies manually!
But this is the basic way of getting a cookie set for getting what you want done.
Also, I've set up a test page on my domain for you - expires in 1 year from first visit. Loads on index.php and redirects to test2.html if the cookie is already set. Try it out for yourself here.
