Globe iPhone 5 "Searching..."

I'm using an iPhone 5 with the Globe network. My phone goes "Searching..." "Globe" "Searching..." "Globe" alternately. The network said that they're not having problems with reception. Could this be a hardware problem with my phone? I've already restored, reset network settings, reinstalled my Sim...

Try to manually choose you carrier. Go to settings > carrier > turn off automatic .
It will then search for available carriers. Then tick on globe in your case.
This is what I do most of the time if the signal reception is on "E" or Edge which so happens to have slower bandwidth compared to 3G or LTE. I use sun cellular as my carrier and I have to manually tick on "PH sun" than just the "Sun" alone since the "PH sun" provides the 3G cellular data. Not the other one. I hope this helps.

  • How do I clear out history on the iPhone search located on home screen

Past text messages come up in the iPhone search even though they were deleted and are no longer in phone book.

Only by restoring your phone as a new device, not from backup. The data is in a cache that is not user accessible. It will eventually be overwritten as you use your phone. But, if you want it gone now, restoring as new will get rid of it.

  • Why is the iphone search function spotlight limited in time?

why is the iphone search function spotlight limited in time? I can only find entries that are less than a year old,but I would like to search older entries in my calender, which goes back to 2002. Anyone has a solution for this?

Are you sure that your calendar still contains entries from that long ago? Generally when you sync the iPhone through iTunes, it will only sync entries from a specific time frame. It may be there older entries have been archived and do not exist on the iPhone anymore. Other than that, I don't see any setting that allows modification to the time frame for Spotlight search.

Is there a way to get a search protocol of the "Find my iPhone" search app and icloud ? And where can i find a protocol of the chat with a apple support worker

Thanks for the reply however this does not help.  When I check the cloud it shows that I have only 20 photos.  In reality I had a lot more than that.  All the photos on the cloud are those that I have taken since I was at the Apple store.  When I check cloud storage usage on my phone it says that I have 5.1 GB of photos.  This is a lot more than the 20 that I can see.  I am not sure what the Apple employee did to my phone.
Still looking for answers.  It is really too bad that I can not talk to an Apple person to get help since they messed up my phone.

Hi, messages still appear in iPhone search even after they are deleted from iPhone.

Yes and as long as you are signed into iCloud - you can even use that phone to iMessage
The messages stay on there until you wipe / erase / restore your old phone

  • ICal on ios7 iPhone search issue

When I perform a search action in iCal on my iPhone, iCal displays the results randomly. I would like to have the results sorted by date. Is this possible? It was in ios6.
    Thx for replies

I just realized I am having the same problem.  All iCal events are on my iMac, but I can only view the last 12 months or so on my iPhone 4s.  Searching within iCal or the main Search window on the iPhone give the same results, zero.
So when I am at the doctors and they want to know when my child last saw Dr. SoAndSo, the search on the phone shows zero, when I know this is an annual appointment.
Very frustrating.  I hope there is a setting that I've just missed since I got the phone last Fall.

  • Why does some of my music not appear in my music app on the iPhone but I can search and play it through iPhone search?

A few albums and songs are in my iPhone 4S but don't appear in my music app, to play them, I must search for it using search iPhone

This seems like a very innocent post, but in digging more on the problem I've also seen this (some music recopies with every sync) with 9.1.1 level code. Apple Software Update said my system was fine, and iTunes itself also said it was up to date. However the reported code level is 9.1.1.11 rather than 9.1.1.12. After I manually downloaded and installed the most current .12 version, on 2 different machines btw, I noticed that the library needed to be updated yet again. Let me tell you that on a 1TB library this takes a long long time.
After another re-copy cycle, and did some more sync tests and this time I'm not getting the re-copy to happen, so the problem appears to be cleared up.
Again, issues like this are magnified significantly on systems with very large library.

  • Emails I can find with iPhone search that I can't delete.

They don't appear in any mail folders (on phone or online) If I delete the email account off phone they disappear but re appear when added again.
When I open it from the spotlight search I only have the option to Send.
Need these msgs off my phone, suggestions?

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.

  • IPhone search - iPhone 3.0

As mentioned by Apple, iPhone 3.0 will included 'Search iPhone' for transfering data. Can anybody tell me that would it be restricted just to search iPhone or it will be able to search any Bluetooth device?
    thanks

Having watched the 3.0 Beta presentation, the integrated search will only allow you to search data on the iPhone itself. I believe it will only search certain data on your phone, such as contacts, mail and app names (not the data held within 3rd party applications).
It is unclear from your original post what you mean by 'transferring data'. iPhone 3.0 will better utilise the bluetooth chip by allowing stereo bluetooth (A2DP), but this will be limited to iPhone3G handsets. As far as I am aware 3.0 will not let you send or receive files from the device.
    I hope that makes sense!

  • New iPhone search finds deleted e-mails

OS 3 works fine but there's one thing that surprised me. The new search function does its job a little bit too good. You can find e-mails that you deleted weeks ago even if you cleared the recycle bin.

Interested that someone else is having the same issue.
Posted this in another thread. I'll wait to see if someone finds a way to delete them completely
Sounds like there's been an ongoing issue with the delete function in mail that spotlight has shown up, and the fault lies with that rather than 3.0.
+In 3.0 when I do a search included in the search are past emails that were deleted ages ago. Actually there's no emails on the iPhone at all at the moment. The emails date back to mid November last year when Apple replaced the previous iPhone.+
+Some of those found open up fully while others open to a blank window. All have a delete option.+
+No emails are in the trash or any other of the mail folders.+
+These are POP email and none remain on the server. They are on the Mac that the iPhone syncs to however.+
+The question is where are these emails coming from if they've been deleted?+
+Is the same happening to anyone else?+

  • How do I remove a name from the iPhone search function (extreme left page of apps)?, How do I remove a name from the iPhone search function (extreme left page of apps)?

Even after deleting emails and sms messages, a whole lot still show up on the search page. Ideas?

You are correct, the Search Function is very powerful. It even retrieves deleted information. If you really want to delete it, only way I know would be to Restore. But if you Restore from Back-Up, some of those unwantd messages and information may crop up again. You may have to Restotre and Set Up as New iPhone.

  • IPhone Search/Filter App for tags assigned with iPhoto

When you download photos to iPhoto you can name them, tag them (multiple times). Then you can filter them by typing the tag or name on the search bar on the bottom left of the program. After I tag the photos I would like to be able to upload them back to my iPhone and filter them in the same way as I do in my computer. Is there an app that can do this?
    Thanks

No, there is not. If you want the phone to be silent, flip the switch on the side.

  • New iPhone search function totally lame!

I was really looking forward to the new "search" function in iPhone 2.0 update. It is totally lame. It will only look for first and last names. This was easy enough to find before. I need it to find phone numbers and information in my notes (just like the real address book search function does).
Hopefully, some other company will make it work properly with a new App.
    Scott

How about a search function that can search your calendar? What good is a "datebook" application if you have to remember where you entered a specific event? iPhone is the biggest disappointments ever. HUGE downgrade from my Treo. Glad they had all of the problems launching 2.0 (which should have been considered 1.0beta)- serves them right for being so arrogant about a less-than-ready product (again).
