Glossary of XI Terms

HI I am trying to build up my glossary of XI Terms and was wandering if someone could give me the meanings (exactly what they are and do) and maybe an example of the following. I will reward top points for answers thank you:
Custom Mapping
Value Mapping
Acknowledgements
Advanced Optimisation
Performance Tuning
Streamlining Processes
Cut Over
Integration Testing
Integration Engine Tuning
Advanced Queue Processing
Proof of Concept
I know these are relatively simple but I just want to make sure I understand them better and whats involved....

Hi Alex,
i can help you for some terms:
> Custom Mapping
Mapping done without Message Mapping Tool, but with Java Mapping, ABAP Mapping or XSLT Mapping
> Acknowledgements
There are 2 type of ackowledgements:
transport acknowledgements to confirm that the message has been successfully delivered.
System Acknowledgements: to confirm that the message has been delivered and successfully processed by the target system.
For idoc acknowledgement take a look to this document:

  • Glossary in .chm file

    Hi Everyone:
I'm using RoboHelp HTML, ver 8.0.2.208, with other users in a version controlled environment.
I have created a .chm file but the glossary and glossary tab do not appear in the file.  I do have the glossary populated with terms and info but when I generate the .chm, there's no glossary tab and hence no glossary info.
I do have a glossary listed in the HTML Help Options-Microsoft HTML Help window before I generate but no luck with it appearing in the resulting .chm.
Any ideas?   Thank you so much for any help/input.  I really don't know what I would do without this forum -- it's been a lifesaver!

    Hi there
First, check to ensure your Window definition has the Glossary enabled. Assuming it is, the next step is to try creating a new Window definition. Then configure the SSL to point at the new definition. If that still doesn't coax it to show, try creating a new layout. Just right-click in the SSL pod and choose to create a new layout.
Don't copy the layout as it would be like cloning a cow with a birth defect. You would likely bring the birth defect right into the clone! Best practice is to create it from scratch.
Keep us updated on your progress... Rick

  • Medical Glossary search box

I am working on a site for Cardiologists and student
cardiologists. I would like to add a searchable glossary of medical
    terms to the site.
If you look at this site, they have one.
    http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/hm_lls
    SH

That search is done by accessing a database of terms and
    their definitions.
How is your server-side coding skills, and do you know what
    server language
the server supports? Hopefully they already have a database
    of terms and
their definitions for you to work from; otherwise, you are
    going to have to
create a database yourself and populate it with the terms and
    definitions.

  • Auto generate glossary entries

    TCS 2
    FM 9.0.3
    RH 8.0.2
My Framemaker book includes a glossary file with terms and descriptions using devoted para tyles. Is there nay way to map these to styles in Rh to autogenerate as Glossary entries int he webhelp template based ont he style.
Alternatively, how can i make set these to behave as popups when the term is selected or when links to a term are selected?
    TIA
    Rob

I'm not sure i follow you on both those points.
I have assigned glossary markers to all the Glossary terms in FM. These are also unique FM styles. What do i do in RH. To what do i map these?
The second part about saving as separate HTML files, i can set pagination for GlossTerms but what then must i do ?

  • Getting error message for "user created how tos"  CS3

I tried to create some new How Tos in CS3 and recieved the following error message when I try to open it:
"The Adobe Help application could not load a URL because the specified file could not be found. You may need to re-install the application and the help component."
If I access one of the ones created with CS2 it opens (I dragged them over from CS2, I have since removed CS2 from this computer, it's still on my laptop) I haven't tried creating them and importing them to this computer).
I'm using Microsoft Office Word 2003 to save the How Tos as html files, and notepad to edit Add_001.howto file.
Since I gotten this error, I reloaded CS3 Design Standard, it didn't fix the problem. Also I have ensured that the Add_001.howto file points to the right location (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Help\additional how to content)and is in the right format:
"John Shaws CS3" "47. A GLOSSARY OF IMAGING TERMS" 47.html (works).
"Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" Noise Ninja 001.html (doesn't work)
The only thing new on the computer is a brand spanking new EVGA NVidia Geforce 9500GT PCI express(512 mb ddr2 dual DVI output) with the latest drivers. It replaced NVidia GeForce 6600GS and Matrox Millenium video cards (the Matrox). The new video card does not include some program that allows it to run MS-DOS programs, but I don't feel that is causing the problem.
    System Info:
    Photoshop CS3 10.0.1
Computer: Gateway DX310X with Gateway FPD1975W and FPD1730 monitors
Windows XP Media Center Edition, Service Pack 3
    Intel Pentium D proccessor
    1GB internal memory
168GB of free space on hard drive.
I hope I have given you suffiecient information to give me some possible solutions.
    Thanks
    Rick

    Mylenium
    Thanks for the assist.
It isn't a Windows Indexing Service problem.
It is an operator problem. As you pointed out the long name and spacing are the issue here.
I changed the the Add_001.howto file from:
"Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" Noise Ninja 001.html
    to:
"Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" NN001.html
I changed the file in the Additional How To Content folder, to match.
    And it works now.
Now that I know what was wrong with my file names, I'll be able to get the various plugin help files/documents into Photoshop so I won't have to get out of it to get help on them.
    Thanks
    Rick

  • Import Fails then Hangs

    I am perplexed.
I have a 1 hour video uploaded and captured into Adobe Premiere Pro.
I  did this several times on two three computers.
The video files are exact same length with different names video_001, video_002, and so forth.
    Why so?
I can play the video in VLC and WMP on several computers.
However when I attempt to import the videos with the exact same length on any computer using Premiere Pro 2 and/or Premiere Pro 3 the video import hangs almost at the end of the generating peak file message. The import is unable to finish. 99% done, and hangs.
Task manager shows Premire Pro 'not responding'. This happens in every instance on several computers.
I resorted to using Nero video capture. That didn't work. The movie video did not import.
I recorded the film on several different computer all with Adobe Premiere Pro.
Though I ended up with several films all the same size - all avi - I cannot get any one of those films to finish the import into Premiere Pro.
Work stopped in progress - need help.
    Thanks
    and hangs....

Your terms are a bit confusing - A glossary of video terms http://www.manifest-tech.com/links/video_terms.htm
I **think** you are saying that you are capturing from a DV tape camera... which does create AVI files... is this the case?
If not, what is the source of your AVI files, and what are the file details?

  • Generic error VOB files

I have recently copied videos onto a sony DVD recorder and from there, burnt them onto a DVD in VOB format. From the DVDs. I have transferred them onto a laptop. The problem is, when i attempt to import them into adobe premiere elements 12 the first 2 VOB files give a "generic error". Here is the full error:
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
The importer reported a generic error.
I believe that this may be caused by the menu in the files as they both have a blue video selection menu.
Is there any other way to import these files because they contain the first few minutes of our films!

    vwsprocket
    Thanks for the additional details.
After all the steps from source to Premiere Elements, it is interesting to note that you say your only problem is a few seconds of missing footage which you believe is in the VTS_01_1.VOB video file.
From my perspective, the VIDEO_RM here and often the Audio_TS are useless Folders. It is those video files in the VIDEO_TS Folder that are of consequence.
I found this informative article on VIDEO_RM and its possible shortcomings.
VIDEO_RM - AfterDawn: Glossary of technology terms & acronyms
Could you compile the following information?
Are you using Add Media/Files and Folders/....assuming for now, yes
When you go to Premiere Elements Add Media/Files and Folders, what are the specific names of all the files that you ask the Add Media to gather?
Right now I would like to know details on the etc when you wrote
    - VTS_01_1.VOB
    - VTS_01_2.VOB
    ect...
My target is only VIDEO_TS Folder and its video files. The VIDEO_RM Folder and its contents are of no consequence in this import.
There are instances where the significant video files start in the group VTS_02_1 VOB and not VTS_01_1.VOB. Therefore, if you have not already, I need for you to check out the contents of each of those video files for content and sequence of content.
But backing up a little, what happens if you take the DVD-VIDEO on DVD you produced (before you copied anything to the laptop) and insert that DVD disc into the burner tray and open Premiere Elements Add Media/DVD camera and computer hard drive/Video Importer and just selected the VTS_01_1.VOB and its files in the series of 0.99 GB files? Have you been there and done that?
I do not want to distract from the above, but I will note that I will address the matter of an Audio_TS Folder. That is an easy one to address if it is absolutely necessary to have. Typically, nothing needs to be in the Audio_TS Folder. An empty Audio_TS Folder seems to meet some sort of compatibility matter between disc and player.
Please review. I want to make sure that we are in sync on the troubleshooting information.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere CS5 + AVCHD = Yellow bar problem?

I just wanted to ask, if this is normal or what I'm doing wrong, because I never had this problem with CS4. After I recorded some footage with my Canon HFs100 (AVCHD 1920x1080, interpreted to 25p) and I tried to edit it on Premiere(sequence: AVCHD 1920x1080, 25fps) , I always get that yellow bar, which  indicates that there is a mismatch between footage properties  and sequence settings.
In Premiere Cs4, I always intepret the footage at fisrt, because the way HFS100 captures video and the it works just fine without yellow/red bar, but in CS5, I still get that yellow bar. Why?

    My english sucks.
So does mine and all the more reason, when we are handicapped by not using our native tongue, to be as precise as possible. We are not alone here, there are people from all over the world for whom English is only a second or third language, so the better we express ourselves, the easier it is to get understood and get valuable feedback.
Look here: Adobe Forums: A glossary of video terms
This is not to sound arrogant, but to help you express yourself in this rather complicated language of video editing.

  • RHCL for RoboHTML 9 seems flaky

Maybe it's me, but I'm seeing some peculiar behavior when attempting to use RHCL with RH HTML 9.01 (TCS) to build a CHM file.  The sample project, sales builder, builds the CHM as expected when compiling from the RH interface.  The RHCL command (run w/ RH closed) sometimes fails and, when it works, always gives a wrong result.  I am copying the command from a text file, so it's the same for each trial.  When RHCL fails, it gives warning: "no baggage file description."  When it produces a CHM, there's no TOC and a wrong default topic.  The first topic is "AIR Help Commenting and Rating" and not "What is Salesbuilder?"  In project settings, TOC is set to default.  The result gives search and glossary tabs (no terms as are in the project), but an index tab is missing.  Also, the result omits browse sequences.  The forums are reporting various other strange results using RHCL.  Does someone have some answers?

Command Line generation is not something I use but my site hosts an article written by Bill Albing. Maybe that has something that will help you.

  • Firefox 9 offers only a simple non-hierarchical list of bookmarks, not an inverted-tree with some branches expanded; is there a cure, or else how can I restore Firefox 8?

The old Firefox offered a bookmark screen on the left with an inverted-tree structure. e.g.
    Finance
    CNBC.com
    finance.yahoo.com
    BBC glossary of business terms
    Fidelity Investments
    Lookup
    yahoo.com
    ZIP code finder
    google maps
    Chase personal banking
    www.amazon.com
    Film
    imdb.com
    Turner Classic Movies
    Weather
    Astronomy
    Science
    Science Times
    periodic table
    Schrodinger wave equation
    Geology
This is like the computer folder/subfolder(or file) structure. Some folders can remain closed until needed, e.g. weather, but others remain expanded until closed, and each visible bookmark can be clicked on immediately (without opening another list).

    Hi joelgibson,
Are you talking about the bookmarks sidebar? Trying hitting ''CTRL + b''. Is that what you are referring to? You can also create a navigation bar icon to enable this sidebar if you don't want to use the keyboard shortcut. Take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Navigation Toolbar items]] for details.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Decoder Ring for Java API?

Is there any page or resource that can help me understand the conventions used in the Java API? I can often find the methods or classes that I need there (or think I find them anyway) but I don't understand how to know from these API entries what I need to import or what the syntax is for these methods and classes. I'm pretty sure all that information is there if I understood the API's structure better. A reference that explained some of the basics of this document to those of us from non-programming backgrounds would be tremendously useful. Does anyone know of such a reference, either online or printed?
Another useful resource would be some sort of glossary for programming terms. For instance, if I look up Serializable, the API informs me that:
"Serializability of a class is enabled by the class implementing the java.io.Serializable interface. Classes that do not implement this interface will not have any of their state serialized or deserialized. All subtypes of a serializable class are themselves serializable. The serialization interface has no methods or fields and serves only to identify the semantics of being serializable. "
This probably makes sense to someone who knows what Serialization means... I can do a search and eventually find out what the term means after wading through hundreds of search results but I would love to find a single resource I could bookmark or buy that could explain these concepts in a glossary for us members of the great unwashed and unlearned...
    Thanks from a confused wkiraly

  • Can you pair BT headset whit iPhone and iChat at same time?

Is it possible to wear the BT headset at your desk, use it for audio iChat and have it pick up phone calls?
Just curious how it decides which one to listen to if so.....

iPhone can only be 'connected' to one Bluetooth host at a time. So, you would need to 'disconnect' from one and 'connect' to another, to switch... You do not need to 'unpair' them...
    Chas,
You are correct. I should have chosen my wording a little better. You can pair the Bluetooth headset with multiple devices (meaning the passkey has already been exchanged and the headset can be connected to that device in the future), but it can only be actively connected with one device at a time. Meaning, you cannot be using the headset for iChat on your computer, and also have it available to pick up phone calls with your iPhone. You would need to disconnect the headset from the computer and connect it to the iPhone in order to use it for phone calls.
The iPhone's auto-pairing feature does not automatically disconnect the iPhone from another connected device as found in this article:

For further clarification, a glossary of Bluetooth terms can be found at:

  • Expanding Text Glossary Terms into Popup windows

I am using RH6 and I have a help project that uses expanding
text glossary terms throughout all the topics. When the topic is
printed out, the glossary terms are auto expanded and it disrupts
    the flow of the text.
    My questions are:
Is there a way to quickly change expanding text glossary
terms to just popup hyperlink windows?
If not, how can I find all the expanding text glossary terms
using the Multi Find and Replace?
Can they be searched for in a Report?

There's another way. Enclose your glossary definitions in
brackets [a means of enclosing text] so that the definition does
    not interrupt the flow.

  • The Glossary creates a page per term... how to shorten?

As I have been writing my book I have been adding terms to the Glossary but I have now tried printing the document for review and found that iBooks Author created a separate page for every term - to me this is not a workable result. Does anyone know how to abbreviate the Glossary when printing or exporting to PDF (same thing happens in PDF)?

    Hi Tuceef,
    Thanks for the response.
I have created another hidden item P8_URL1 IN page 8 and
I have created an on submit process in page processing section.
    the pl/sql code is
    Begin
    htp.p('<script type = "text/javascript">');
    function setLocation(href)
// set the location path specified in the textbox.
               htp.p('location.href = document.getElementById(href).value;');
              htp.p('P8_URL1:= location.href');
    htp.p('</script>');
end;But the code fetching the plain URL only,it's navigating to the empty form page when i click on the URL.
Please correct the code if am wrong anywhere!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramya.
