Glowing white eyes in iphone 4s flash photos

Is there any solution for the glowing white eyes in iphone 4s photos taken using flash?

Thank you  Pappy 5419 for your photo , I can't tell you what it has done to relax me as my husband has just sent me am alarming photo  , he is away with my two youngest and miss 6yrs eyes are glowing like this whilst miss 11 yrs are not . Glowing / white spots in eyes in flash photography can be a sign of serious childhood eye disease and cancer and is not a sign /symptom to be taken lightly . I think iphone /apple need to be aware of the impact of this technical issue, as whilst I fully intend to follow up/check my daughters eye health with our Dr asap , from the forums & internet research I have done this evening ,this issue may be causing unnescesary alarm to others.Or alternatively 5-6 children in your photo need to be checked asap for significant eye  disease that affects approx one in eighty children and iphone may have a new meaningful  purpose in detecting kids eye issues ...........

  • Does anyone know how to remove white eye that iphone flash creates in photos?

I know the white eyes are created by the LED flash in the iphone, but it ruins all the pictures with flash.  If it was red eye which is created by a normal flash DLSR, its an easy fix, but the white eye is created on people, not pets.  Any suggestions?  I can't seem to find an app that addresses this.

  • White Eye in pictures taken with iPhone 4's flash

Has anyone else had this problem? iPhoto will not let me correct this as it does red eye. Does anyone know the best way to remove the white eye?

Yes, this is a serious problem. I suspect the pupils reflect white light because the flash is LED, rather than the typical incandescent flashes (which reflect red off the pupils). A lot of programs have built-in redeye removal tools, but "white-eye removal"? Haven't heard of it.
Maybe the photoshop iphone app will add it?
Or perhaps Apple can add it to a future release of the Camera or Photos apps that are built in to the phone.

  • How can i prevent and fix white eyes in photos taken with iphone 4S

How can i prevent and also fix white eyes in photos taken with iphone 4S?  Is there a camera app that will help prevent this?

On the photo, click on Edit, the third icon at the bottom has a red circle with a slash over it, that's the red-eye fix. Touch that and it will fix all red eyes automatically or make you touch the red eyes and then fix them for you. Not perfect, but a great help. Now, I find that the fixes do not carry over when I save the photos in my computer. Hope to find an answer for that.

  • Problems with flash photos on iPhone 4s

I have a black iPhone and my friend has a white iPhone, both 4s. I have no problem taking flash photos with mine, but on hers, when the light from the flash LED comes on and then fires at the moment of taking the picture, it is like the light is almost "bleeding" into the white back cover. When you look at it when this happens, the light source is no longer just the small LED, but is now an area of the back cover the size of your fingernail. This seems to be having the affect of causing all the flash photos to look like you have taken the photo in fog. There is a white "cloud" across the entire photo, making it totally unusable as a photo, you cannot see ANYTHING at all. I have made sure there is nothing in front of the lens or flash (fingerprints or scratches) and the camera takes perfectlly fine non-flash photos. My black iPhone 4s does NOT do this. Also tried with and without a case on the iPhone, to make sure it wasn't light catching the edge of the hole on the case and reflecting back to the lens. Does the same thing when the case is completely removed from the iPhone. Any suggestions ?

I have a Black 4S and it has the exact same problem - using flash means pictures in fog - totally unusable. Like you, I removed the case, checked the lens, everything. I have no idea why this happens but it makes flash photograph totally useless. I think I will see if Apple would care to make good a guarantee on it's apparently defective phone camera.

  • How to Fix White Eyes or Sparkle Eyes in Photos

I know this question has been asked a few times before, but I have never found an answer. I have tried many times to fix the white eyes on my photos taken with my iPhone, and have been unable to. I have tried to edit them out using iPhoto on my iMac and it doesn't work. Even photoshop on my PC won't fix the white eyes.
Does anyone have a solution yet.

It is normal for it to get warm when it's being used, especially if it is hot outside. It can even get uncomfortably warm. As long as it is not causing you physical harm (as in giving you burns) or displaying a temperature warning, then it's normal behavior. It's like taking your laptop outside and using it. Except the laptop will probably burn you.

  • What's up with the White Eye?

With the 4 and 4S iphones, the white eye is a major problem. There is no cure. The phone doesn't even present red eye.
Is there any cure for white eye in our photos? I can't even gert in touch with the Apple iPhone developers. This should be fixed for the next iPhone.
    Thanks!
    JTC

If one takes pictures using iPhone 4 a/o 4S with the flash, more often than not, instead of seeing red-eyes, it will actually be white-eyes instead.
Also, if you don't know what someone is talking abôut, then it is best NOT to reply. That's common sense. Have a nice day and, please, do not respond to this. Thank you.

  • Problems with flash photos

I have a problem with my iphone 5s flash. Everytime I shoot a photo without flash, it works properly. However, when I use flash photos appear with a white mist( no case on). What's the problem?

I have a Black 4S and it has the exact same problem - using flash means pictures in fog - totally unusable. Like you, I removed the case, checked the lens, everything. • Now I know why my flash photos are so bad!

Hopefully this isn't going to make me look like a complete dummy. I thought it worth posting as I haven't seen anyone else mention this issue...
Since getting my iPhone 4 I have been very disappointed with the quality of all of my photos taken with the flash. Regardless of the distance of the subject all the photos have come out very washed-out. I don't have the protective plastic on the back of the phone, and I was getting the same results with and without my case on. Despite the overall improvements I saw in my photos with iOS 4.1, flash photos were still really bad.
The penny has just dropped! When I take landscape photos with my iPhone 4 (camera button to the right, lens and flash to the left) I hold the phone in both hands with my fingertips. Because the phone is so slim a fair amount of my left palm sits forward of the left-hand edge of the phone. It doesn't appear in the photos, however there is obviously enough there to reflect a substantial amount of the flash. Holding the phone in my right hand and using my left hand to tap the on-screen button has resulted in dramatically better results.
This is so obvious now I've realised what the problem was that I can't believe I haven't worked it out before now. I thought it worth posting here anyway - just in case anyone else is doing the same thing.
Now all I have to do is work out why I get so much noise in photos taken under artificial lighting...

As a Photographer the term "artificial lighting" means bad or poor lighting. While the human eye is quite capable of adjusting for almost any lighting condition, the "dumb" sensor in your phone camera is nowhere near as capable. While I am not sure that the iphone camera uses variable ISO for it's sensor, I would be surprised if it doesn't. ISO simply refers to the sensitivity of the camera sensor, which sensitivity is raised for low light shots. Prosumer cameras have the ability to take low light shots with a higher ISO to some extent, and professional digital cameras even moreso (professional in the Nikon world meaning $2500 US and above). Making the sensor more sensitive causes noise, and in a low end camera without flash, that noise will be more readily apparent.

  • Red-eye has now become white-eye

Love the low light photo capabiltity of my new Lumia 920.
But when I took a picture of my pooch in low light, he ended up
with white pupils when they should be black - photo attached.
Other than Photoshop, is there a way on the 920 to adjust that?

    Hi Gthomson,
First of all, what a cute pooch you have there . Now, I believe the white their eyes is due to the flash firing. The camera should have picked this up I suppose. You can get this around by disabling the Auto nature of the flash and turning it to off. The Lumia 920's low-light imaging capabilities are quite good. I expect that Nokia will continue its very good history of releasing firmware updates to their devices, which should address camera and other issues. Timeframe is not known, but one will come I'm sure. Unfortunately, not much else can be done about the white-eye for now.

  • White eyes? We look like ghostly demons....

When I take pictures inside or at night....instead of getting red eyes, we get white eyes.
The subjects have blue or green eyes.
Anyway or app to help this?

The iPhone has an LED flash which causes this.

Just wanted to mention that I have the newest ios 6.0.1 software update on my 4s phone and now all my pictures have "white eye".  There doesn't seem to be anything to correct this problem (only a red eye button).
