Gmail account/Blackberry Issues

Let me explain to in simple terms.
As you can see I have a gmail account. When I submit an email from my blackberry to any one client family or friend it default back to my work address example the mail address I use is ***@gmail.*** but the physical mail the client receives is ***@***.co.za. Blackberry allow me this option on the phone to default set the mail address of my employer so the client always get a professional mail. But iphone can not set default mail address, and that is where they lack against blackberry.
Regards
I went on the iphone to the default setting but the only option available was gmail. So I am back to square one that iphone cannot
set default mail setting.
How is it possible for iphone to do amazing things but cannot do this simple but extremely important function.?

  • My current Safari on my macbook is not supporting my gmail account. my issue or gmail issue?

Safari on my macbook is not supporting my gmail account.  My problem or gmail?

    Hi..
It's the v10.6.8 Snow Leopard operating system. It's no longer supported > Apple Kills Snow Leopard: OS X 10.6 No Longer Receives Security Updates
See if your Mac can upgrade to Yosemite >  Apple - OS X Yosemite - How to Upgrade
It's free and available for download from the App Store.
Upgrading to Yosemite v10.10 will also update Safari to version 8.0 so you can access your Gmail account.
Prior to upgrading. If you use Rosetta to run PowerPC apps you need to read this article >  Upgrading to 10.7 and above, don't forget Rosetta! | Apple Support Communities
If your Mac cannot be upgraded to Yosemite, the Firefox browser still supports v10.6 Snow Leoaprd >  Download Firefox — Free Web Browser — Mozilla
No guarantee it will support Gmail, but worth a try.

  • I have Gmail account confusion issues!

When sending  email from my new gmail business account (via Mac mail on my MBP),
it arrives stating it's from my personal gmail account.
    Anyone got any ideas?
I've deleted the personal account and re set up the business account but
    it still keeps doing it.
    It's driving me mad.
    Cheers
    Dexter

I was having this problem until today.
I had tried to solve it earlier by deleting the Gmail account I use less often. That didn't work. Mail was still sending from the deleted account.
What I then discovered is that even after a Gmal account has been deleted, it lurks as an SMTP server setting for outgoing mail.
Here's what I finally had to do:
    Delete all Gmail accounts.
Go into Mail accounts and pull down the menu labeled "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)."
    Select "Edit SMPT Server List."
Find the SMTP server for Gmail in the list and then click the minus sign to delete it.
That should totally eradicate Gmail from the Mail software.
Then, go back in and add the one Gmail account (Mail just doesn't seem able to support two) you wish to use.
Since I did the above, I've been able to use my primary Gmail account without it being confused with my secondary one. It's still a bug in Apple's Mail program, however, that two Gmail accounts can't coexist without being confused.

  • Issues syncing from BB to Gmail account

Background info: I have two email accounts linked to my Torch: personal gmail, and a Google Apps account for work (on which also lives my entire calendar, work and personal).
    Two issues:
    1) Every time I send an email from the personal account - either on the computer OR on the BB (this is NOT an issue for the work account), it shows up not only as a "sent mail," but it also sends me an additional copy from "myself". This is not destructive, just annoying...nothing like a day of cranking out emails on the computer and all of a sudden, 50+ "new messages" whenever I look at the phone.(interestingly, this is NOT happening on my Thai SIM card that I currently have in the phone, but it's been an issue since Day 1 in the US)
    2) Contact syncing. The accounts sync to the BB (via Google Sync), but if I change something on it, it won't sync back to the address books on the browser. Is there any way to enable backward syncing?
Also, the only contacts that continue to duplicate are those that remain in the "My Contacts" list on the personal account (which is a group of about 10 RANDOM people that I did not put there - appeared unexpectedly - also, all my contact groups in that account have been emptied out).
Anyone know how to deal with either of these issues?  Thanks in advance...

  • Issues with Mail and SMTP and Gmail Accounts

So this isn't a question....more like a solution that I had to figure out.
We have multiple gmail accounts in our family and after upgrading to OSC Yosemite our gmail accounts wen't haywire.  My wife was sending emails that eventually were sent from my gmail account (mass neighborhood emails at that.....and all replies came to me instead of her).  I spent about 2 hours investigating and put together several different threads that finally fixed out problem.  The root of the issue is that you can share the same Incoming Mail Server for all of your gmail accounts and your mail will go to the accounts that it is supposed to go to, but you have to have individual Outgoing Mail Servers for each of your accounts otherwise all outgoing mail will come from one account only.  I don't know why this happened, it is a pain in the butt, but here's how I fixed it with 3 gmail accounts running through 1 mac.
1st - you need to remove all of your gmail accounts from mail via Internet Accounts in Settings. Just highlight the account and hit the minus sign at the bottom.  You won't lose anything if you have your gmail settings set to default which backs everything up to Google's servers....it will all load back to you mac and it will all be available online at gmail.com
2nd - you need to add back all of your accounts one at a time (and follow all of the following steps for each account before adding another).  Select the plus sign and choose Google (for gmail accounts only).
3rd - Give your gmail account a recognizable name in the "Name" field (if you have multiple Gmail accounts to add, you will want to distinguish between them).
4th - type in your username ([email protected]) and password.  Make sure to add the suffix @gmail.com.
5th - Check the boxes that you want to add to your mac (mail, contacts, calendars, messages, notes).
6th - Click the "Details" button to ensure that you have an adequate description (see # 3 above) if you are going to have multiple gmail accounts to add.
7th - Open the Mail app.
8th - From Mail Preferences/Account Information Tab - make sure that you account is Enabled (check box next to "Enable Account", make sure that you have an adequate description name, email address is correct, Incoming mail server is imap.gmail.com, Username is your normal gmail login username (absent any suffix like .gmail.com), password is your gmail password.
9th - Then, from Preferences click on the Advanced tab and....Uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
10th - Then, go back to Account Information Tab and.....from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown box, select Edit SMTP List....
11th -  You need to create an individual SMTP Server Account for each gmail account that you plan to add.
12th - To do this click the plus button.  Server Name should always be smtp.gmail.com.  Type in your own Description (I recommend naming it after the gmail account that you plan to attach it to).
13th - TLS Certificate should be "None"
14th - Click the Advanced Tab - From here, uncheck the box for "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".  Then make sure Port is 587 (default is 25 for some ungodly reason).  Check the box for "Use SSL".
15th - Set authentication to "Password".  User name MUST contain a suffice (i.e [email protected]).  Password is your normal gmail password.
    16th - Click OK.
17th - Now your back at Preferences/Account Information - Link your account to the SMTP server that you just created by using the dropdown box next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
18th - Save all changes and close out of Mail App.
19th - Restart Mail and recheck steps 8-15....for some reason my passwords kept getting erased, but they eventually saved and took.
20th - Add another gmail account by following these steps and then recheck all along the way for passwords, suffixes, everything.  You will want to make sure that your accounts are all properly linked to their respective Outgoing Mail Servers (hence the distinct naming descriptions).
21st - Once you have added multiple accounts send email between them to make sure that they are being sent from and received to the correct accounts.

Wow! Oh my goodness Patrick, thank you so much man. That's a ton of informatiion to take the time to write out step by step and share with strangers.  I really, really am grateful to you.  I've been dealing with this for a month, half the month I kept changing my passwords and kept assuming I was making some mistake.  It used to work fine.  About a week ago I started looking for a solution and couldn't find one that worked.
You have changed that sir!  I'm good to go, stress level will lower when I am on my Mac, and I'm so glad to not have all these messages popping back up that I was done with!
Muchos Gracias Amigo!  Owe you one...

  • IMail issue with gmail account

Since I have downloaded the last update of iMail, few days ago, I'm not able to send emails from my gmail accounts anymore. I have a Blackberry with Vodafone and on it it works fine. What can I do?

  • Having Issues with More than 1 Gmail account in Mail

I successfully added my 2 Gmail accounts to Mail in OS X and only one account required an "application-specific password", which was actually extremely easy to figure out. The other Gmail account that I added, it accepted the regular password I would use if accessing this Gmail account from any web browser. The problem lies in the fact that for the account that required the "application-specific password" allows me to select all options to Sync (ie. Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Messages, and Notes). However, the account that only required my regular password will only allow me to select "Calendars" and " Messages". If I click "Mail" or any of the other unchecked options, they immediately uncheck themselves. Any I totally overlooking something or can anyone possibly help me out?

    mea culpa!
I forgot to change the description for the second (new) IMAP account.

  • Using two gmail accounts in Mac Mail client, smtp server issue

I've set up two gmail accounts (one personal, one from my job) in Mac Mail. The personal account is set up via POP, the job account is IMAP. I receive mail into each account with no problem. However Mac Mail won't allow me to set up two separate smtp.gmail.com servers (one for each account). If I edit my SMTP server list and try to change either account individually, it changes BOTH accounts. So I can receive with no problem, but can only send mail from both accounts from ONE account (which ever one I've programed). Is there a way to set up two SMTP severs through gmail (one for each account)?

I have two separate ones set for password authentication to two different accounts.
In your smtp server list, how many are listed? If only one, click the add button and set it up for the other account.
