Gmail and Zimbra EAS not receiving new emails

Gmail and Zimbra are not receiving new emails.  I've switched the polling interval from '5 minutes' to 'as items arrive'.  Hitting the refresh button does nothing.
I haven't tried changing my calendar or contact entries.  I don't know if new ones are being picked up.
Everything was working fine yesterday morning, and then I noticed I hadn't received an email in about an hour, and I checked on gmail.com, and my internal zimbra web client.  Both had many emails.
I don't want to have to delete and re-add the account because then I'll have to re-link all my contacts.  I use gmail EAS because I like the option of turning on push email if I want.
Gmail is not throttling me because my ipod touch works perfectly (and has always worked perfectly).
I haven't downloaded any new apps or changed any configurations prior to this error.

Zimbra appears to work now. Gmail EAS is still not working. I have tried sending messages, but they are still just sitting my in outbox.

    I wasn't even using Mail at the time but all of a sudden I was prompted for the iCloud password, but it wasn't accepted, I tried it several times. 
    So I changed the password through iforgot.apple.com.  I entered the new password in the Account Preferences window.
    I am still not receiving new emails. 
    Does anyone have a suggestion or clue?

    For a few weeks I have been using the GMail app on my iPhone 4S to get mail without problem.  When I wanted to check something in Apple's Mail app, which has worked well for years, I now get a message for my principal email address that the server is "not responding," even though the same server is responding to my GMail app.  For some reason, when I dismissed the message in Mail, it popped up again, but then could be dismissed.  Did something change in Mail that requires some imap addresses be deleted and readded?  Any idea?
    I would not want to think that Mail is programmed to befuddle if it is ignored too long.

    I'm having a problem about receiving new emails, the latest email the phone shows is from 09. august 2010 but should be 8 or 9 emails yesterday. 
    I've deleted the e-mail account and created new one and it's the same! Do you have solution for me??? The type of e-mail account is "other" (not OVI mail or Gmail and so on). And the settings seem to be correct since I receive the mail until 9. august.....

    THX for your help, I just "solved" it, what I did was that I created an OVI account then deleted my other account and created it again then it works ( as an account nr. 2)..... If this happens again I'll try your method it's much easier!!!! By the way I'm using IMAP.

  • NOT RECEIVING NEW EMAILS

    5 days ago my ipad3 stopped updating/receiving emails.
    It is connected to internet and everything else is working, but the 'link' to my laptop seems to be broken.
    I still of course see my new emails on my laptop!
    I get my emails thru' Yahoo. I have icloud installed.
    How can I get the ipad to update/receive new emails?
    This seemed to coincide with losing my YOUTUBE. The icon on the desktop was replaced by WORLD TIME ZONES!
    I don't know why!

    Apple omitted the original YouTube app from iOS 6.
    Look for this YouTube app at the App Store for an alternative > 
    I have iCloud installed
    Open System Preferences > iCloud
    Deselect the box next to Mail then reselect it.
    Give iCloud a minute or two to sync.

  • Gmail POP - iPhone not receiving new emails

    I have my iPhone setup to retrieve my Gmail through POP. Everything has been working great until last week, when the phone quit receiving new messages.
    I was able to create a IMAP connection and it worked fine, but that's not how I want to retrieve my mail.
    I am able to temporarily correct the problem by creating a second POP email connection. Once it's created and retrieves mail, the original account starts working again. I can then delete the new account. I've had the problem 3 times and so far this has corrected the problem. Simply disabling the new account and re-enabling when I need the fix, doesn't work.
    When it's not working, there are no error messages. I just as if there's just nothing to retrieve.
    Has anyone else seen this problem or know what the cause might be?

  • Mail not receiving new email messages.

    The Mail application on my 2006 MacBook has stopped retrieving new messages. The Mac is running 10.5.8, and the Mail is version 3.6. I have not made any changes to the mail preferences in years. I have two email accounts configured: my Gmail as well as my university email account.  Comcast is my internet provider. About a week ago, the incoming email was slow to update. I would click "Get Mail", and it would pull in only 4-5 emails at a time. I would re-click "Get Mail" several times until all the new mail was retrieved. But for the past 4 days, no new mail is coming in.  When I click on "Get Mail", the wheel next to both accounts spin like they are working, but nothing happens. There is no error message given (such as "no internet connection"). I have tried the mailbox "rebuild" on both accounts several times, as well as rebooting the computer. (When in doubt, reboot!).
    The outgoing emails I send from Mail are being received by the recipients, so I know the connection is working in that direction!  The Comcast internet is working, and I can log in to my Gmail account through the web and view my emails there just fine. I'm also receiving the new emails on my iPod Touch. So, I know there are new emails, but they are not coming to my MacBook.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the suggestions, BDAqua. Unfortunately, the new mail is still not coming in.  I am still able to send mail out through Mail (I did another "test" mail to myself, then checked it on Gmail.com).
    A couple of comments & questions (to make sure I was doing things correctly):
    The "Connection Doctor" had all green dots. So, that all looks OK.
    What do I do with the Mail folder and Envelope Index file that I had moved to my desktop during the Safe Boot? Right now, they are just still sitting on my desktop while in normal start-up mode.
    When you said "redo to Rules", I moved the two files you mentioned into the trash. Is this what I was supposed to do? Should I "empty trash" to make sure they are gone?
    After I ran through your suggestions once, I did the "safe boot" again and re-ran the Disk Utility "Repair Permissions". Of the things it found, none seem to be Mail related. But, just for kicks, I'll paste the results log below.
    Any other ideas? I am able to get my mail through Gmail.com, so it's not the end of the world if I never get this fixed. Just annoying!

    I am having the same problems. I am not receiving email to one of the six addresses I have in Mail. Ever since I updated to Mavericks, I've had problems with Apple Mail. I checked the activity and conneciton doctor, everything is green and connection is fine, but no email. I only receive the message if I quit mail and restart.
    I've been using apple for 10 years, and in the last year or so noticed they are going the way of windows in that there programs don't "just work" anymore. There are more and more issues creeping up with each new update.

  • Not receiving new emails to Droid Lucid

    I have my personal email set up on my phone but I am not being notified of new messages and when I click on the Email icon on the Home screen my phone is telling me that I have no messages when I actually do have messages in my inbox.

    I received a message on my phone yesterday that said there has been a change in your SIM card and all the email accounts that you have will be deleted.  I had been clicking cancel but today I clicked on OK and then it took me through restoring the Hotmail email and now all of the sudden I can see my Hotmail inbox with all my messages.  The SIM card was changed the same day I got my phone which was a week and a half ago.  Strange but it looks like it works now.  Thanks for your help.  Now to figure out how to add my work email (Outlook).   Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2012 13:24:34 -0600

    It’s important to be able to retrieve email on your device as well as from a computer.  I would like to assist with correcting this problem.

  • I can reset my security questions.  I have checked my email and but am not receiving the email to reset.  Its not in spam.

    How can I reset my security questions for icloud account.  I am not receiving the reset email.   Is there a way to change where the email is being sent?   ice checked my spam folders.

    The easiest thing to do is to contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Forgotten Apple ID security questions.

  • My iCloud account on my iPhone is not verified and I have not received an email to verify my account.  Now what?

    I installed the most current operating system on my iPhone today so I can use iCloud.  Unfortunately, I can't use iCloud because in settings under iCloud, I receive a message that my email address can't be verified.  Themessage also a message in settings that says to check my email for instructions to verify.  I have checked all of me email folders for the email.     On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

    If you've received an email then if it's not personalised (e.g. 'dear client' or 'customer'), is in poor English, and has a 'verify now' or similar link in it's a phishing attempt to try and get your iTunes account and payment info - in which case you could forward it to Apple :

    On a recent trip abroad, my N96 automatically switched to the local time on arrival, but it failed to switch back to UK time when I returned. Now my phone is stuck 3 hours ahead, and it won't let me change the date or time manually. When I select Set
