Gmail cannot send and e-mail in Firefox

I have 3 PCs each running Windows XP SP3 with Firefox (latest updates) and Gmail. On only one of the systems (Lenovo Z60m) when I try to compose an e-mail or reply to an e-mail, I get this message: "Oops… the system encountered a problem (#010)" this has been going on for about 10 days. It does not affect my other systems and if I open a different browser (Chrome or IE) I do not get errors sending mail.
I should also note that Sync stopped working on this machine a while ago as well.
Any suggestions?

I have comcast, too.
The lightening bolt usually means there is a connection problem--are you having trouble with Safari connecting also?? If yes, try resetting your modem. Do you have a router? Reset that as well and restart your computer. Tell me if this helps. I've had to do this several times...
As far as the error message--by any chance are the rejected recipients hotmail or MSN addresses? From time to time, comcast has issues sending messages to those two. Just keep the messages in your outbox until Comcast, hotmail and MSN figure out their compatibility issues.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Cannot send Email with Mail since updated to 10.7.2, they stay in my Send Box...

Since I updated, I cannot send Email through Mail, it works with Thunderbird though.

Just FYI, I've had the same problem for months now. I have been accessing my hotmail via the web, but decided to try the OS X Mail app. I could get emails into the account with no problem but couldn't send. I read all the blog and support entries and have tried everything they recommended, like changing my computer name to one word, without success. Then last night, it just so happened that my broadband provider had to change out my wireless modem. As soon as he plugged in the new one, some emails that had been in my outbasket for a month went through instantly and all of a sudden my Mail, both incoming and outgoing now work. So I think people need to look at their router settings for the a solution to the problem.

You might also try removing all gmail passwords from your keychain in Keychain Access. Then connect again and enter the password code given by Google.

Cannot send or receive mail after installing iOS6 on iPhone4.
All email accounts are still fine and not lost but ever since I installed iOS6 I cannot send any new email and I am not receiving either. That includes my Exchange, Yahoo and Hotmail. I didn't loose any old email in my Inboxes.

I am having a similar problem. I have iPhone 4 with the updated iOS6 and a Hotmail account. Mail had been working after the update, but I noticed that wasn't really pushing my mail like it used to before the update. I wouldn't get notifications after the update and when I open the Mail app, it would take much longer to download emails. I decided to remove my Hotmail account and then re-add the account to the phone to see if that would fix the problem. No such luck. Now I have zero emails in my inbox on my phone when there is new email sitting in my Hotmail inbox on my laptop. I've tried to delete and add the account multiple times now while rebooting the device and nothing changes...I've looked into other fixes mentioned here that say to change the settings on cellular date, airplane mode, push vs fetch, etc. and nothing is working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FYI: POP will by default, delete messages from the server after downloading them (This applies to most pop clients, computer or mobile). POP is old tech and is not recommended if IMAP or Exchange are available. The default when setting up a g-mail type account is IMAP. Full synchronization with the server. You may also be able to set it up as an Exchange account, allowing for push e-mail and sync of calendars and contacts as well. See the Gmail help pages for instructions.

The port is determined by your Email Service Provider. So first off, who is your email provider?
Port 110 is not a standard port for sending. 25, 465 and 587 are the standard SMTP ports (sending) and 110, 143 and 995 are the standard POP/IMAP ports (receiving).

I cannot send out e mails from my macbook air today but my macbook pro works fine, the settings on both computers are both the same and i have tried 3 wifi spots, i can still receive e mails on my air plus use the internet, skype etc just won't enable me to send out, has anyone had a similar experience and can anyone help?

Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart your iPad. Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPod touch. To turn iPod touch back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

When I upgrade to yosemite, when I have to send and receive mail is very slow. Mails take a long time to be send and receive, and the mail boxes disconnect frequently. I am using the yosemite mail server and don't have this issue with user with Maverick.

So let me see if I understood it right... In Mavericks you didn't had this issue, this only happens in Yosemite and you are using Apple Mail, not another mail client. Have you tried in System Preferences > Internet Accounts unchecking and rechecking the email checkbox on your account?? If that doesn't works try deleting and adding your account.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.
