Gmail contacts / calendar to the cloud???

OK....Got all my GMAIL contacts and calendar on the iphone.  Now how do I get them to the cloud?

Thanks but that is not what I'm looking for. All I need is contacts/calendar sync so I don't see any point in paying for a software with a lot of features I wont use.
Contacts/Calendar is a iTunes/iPod feature so it should work. Apple has to do something.

I have another kind of problem with Firefox
    == Description
    ==
In migrating from an XP PC to a new Win 7 PC, I downloaded Firefox to the new PC and it worked fine - got my Gmail contacts, calendar, etc. Later I used Micros Soft's Windows Easy Transfer to move data, profiles, etc to the new PC. Then could log onto Gmail but it would not show Contacts or Calendar. I then uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it - nohelp, then I did a system to Restore to before I did the Windows Easy Transfer - no help, then I manually moved my Firefox Profile from the XP machine - no help. BTW at least one other website does not display correctly: http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/Main.action. NOTE - through all this Internet Explorer has shown these sites correctly.

    Hey NON-TECHNO-WIZARD
You can do one of two things. The first is to just export out the contacts and import them into each other’s account. If something is updated the other person will not be updated with the information. Now another options is using one Apple ID for iCloud Syncing and then you can still use individual Apple ID’s for store purchases. The article below will shed some light on how you can use the Apple ID.

make changes to my contact list on the cloud?

If you are talking about the MobileMe control panel within advanced area of the sync tab it reads list of computers.... The iPhone should not be in the list. Mine is not.

  • Multiple devices with iMessage, FaceTime and calendar in the cloud

    Hi
There are a number of posts on this, but this is what I do and the issues I face:
My wife and I use a common apple ID for:
    Notes
    Reminders
    Calandars
Photostream (when it works, but there are other postings on that)
    Apps
i.e everything else, Music, apps, and addresses are on our Windows PC
We have made a number of sub-IDs for our four devices (iphone 5s and 5 plus iPad 1 with IOS6?  and iPad 3) can get the correct emails and iMessages they should and FaceTime rings where it should.
We have done this by selecting where to receive (at) our messages in settings, e.g. the iPhones use our phone numbers as references. The iPads use a gmail address that we have identified under our one Applie ID. Here can be crossover, but I get my messages and my wife gets hers
With the addressbook in the cloud, we can arange here medical and other appointments very easily and synce the stuff everywhere. Notes and reminders. This leaves books music and other stuff safely on the PC, backed up, and only updated when we sync.
This works well, and only when a cloud document is changed in error, do we pay for doing it this way. If my wife were more able, I suppose that she could easily edit the settig details to read my messages, but she has no wish to do this,
This is all fine, buit since IOS 7, whenever a SIM is swapped, I travel a lot, iTunes and iMessages are st to receive everything on all devices. So, my wife gets my messages and I hers. I have to manually fix these, not an onerous task, now I have done it so many times, and have documemnted it; just ver frustrating.
I am in the UK now, my wife is in hospital and does not have enough ability to fix the stuation over the phone.I will have to live with this and a temporary phone (that I got for messages and calls).
What I would like to know is:
1 - Is there a way to stop IOS 7 updating the Mesage / FaceTime read / contact a locaions everytime I change a SIM?
2 - Short of creating a new Apple ID for iCloud, and not being able to share calendars, notes, reminders and photostream (when it works), is there a way around this?
When I gave back home, I will fix the devices up again to make sure we get our separate messages and details. My next UK trip will involve taking the second phone with me.
    Any ideas welcome.
    Tony

Do I have a choice as to what actually gets transferred into the cloud or does it take what it wants?  What if I don't care to share particular data with another device, does the cloud take it anyway?

  • How to sync Q10 with outlook calendar through the cloud on a remote laptop

Hello all, I took delivery of a new work mobile today (BB Q10). All set up with my work email installed. Told I can set up to have my work calendar on it as well - great. Got home, installed latest version of BB Link on my laptop (C Drive), connected the device via USB and got stuck.
It appears to be only willing to sync with a local (C Drive) version of Outlook which was set up for my personal email account (Gmail) That is not the one I want. I want the work one in the cloud. We log in to the whole MS Office 2007 package via the cloud using a Citrix app.
I know it can be done as a colleague already uses it successfully but he does not work local to me and neither of us are particularly computer savvy.
Can anybody help please. The only bits I want are the actual calendar, no contacts etc.
    Thanks
    Dave

I wish that would work for me. I had used BB devices for years until my work took them away and gave me a Samsung Galaxy 4S. I'd been using that for the last 3-4 months, but I just hated it so I went on eBay and bought myself a new Q10. I used device switch and everything moved over except my weekend work schedules. All my other appointments moved over, so I'm not sure why that didn't. I've tried almost everything. The old BB Desktop software used to work great, but now we have to use BB Link, and there is no option for me to sync my calendar from my home iMac, or my work PC laptop.....very frustrating! I should not have to enter it all again manually. I really like the phone, but I can't figure out why BB Link is so limited. There should be an option built in to sync appointments from a Mac or a PC.

  • Gmail contacts/calendar/notes not updating to phone

Hi, my iphone 4 was replaced yesterday. I'm now trying to set up my contacts from Gmail. I know how to do this but it just hangs. Mail has uploaded fine but not the contacts, calendar or notes. I've tried to do this individually, hence how I know email is working, but the contacts/calendars/notes don't seem to want to play nice. Please help.

If you want the calendar entries that you create on the phone to sync with the gmail, you need to create the entry in the gmail calendar on the phone.  If you create it in the phone calendar, it is only on the phone.
Usually at the very top of the new event entry you have a choice of which calendar to create this event in.  Either Phone, gmail or any other option you have synced to your phone.  To get it to sync to the gmail calendar you need to select the gmail calender.

  • Sync Gmail contacts & calendar

I own a Droid, PC and Macbook. Mobile me is working great when syncing the PC and Macbook but will not Sync gmail contacts or calendars. Gmail email also syncs fine.

  • Upgraded to iTunes 11...now insists on syncing contacts/calendars 'over-the-air' but can't change settings

Upgraded to iTunes 11, at which time it decided it was better for me to sync my calendar/contacts "over-the-air" from iCloud (when I never had this activated before).  Now it says "your contacts are being synced with your iPhone over the air from iCloud" (which is not true...it doesn't work and changes in one place are not made in another - same goes for calendars).  Also states "Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iPhone" (likewise not true...I've got them deactivated in my iPhone and still doesn't work).
Not sure why Apple thought they should go ahead and change my preferences that were setup to go to iCloud, especially when it doesn't even work.  Now no contact or calendar changes I make in Outlook transfer to iPhone or vice-versa (even with a manual sync).
Anyone know what the h*ll is going on with this?  To say I'm annoyed would be an understatement.  May be time to ditch Apple and the iPhone, first no YouTube & Google Maps now they insist on not allowing me to sync the way I want.  Total BS.

I have this same problem too - thanks for the heads up that all my NOTES will get wiped.  Going to have to workaround by dumping all my notes from Outlook to ONENOTE on the cloud.  Then not really using NOTES on my iPhone and iPad.  Apple is slowly becoming more and more successful in getting me to NOT use MS products, like Outlook.  Actually, my cloud strategy will be to keep my longer notes on ONENOTE and relegating NOTES on iPhone/iPad to just quick hits that I jot here and there.  I guess iPhone/iPad notes will then get synced over iCloud but will not end up in Outlook.  What a pain in the arse!  I need a seriously freaking flow chart to keep track of all of my cloud activity.  It's making my head spin.

  • How to get gmail contacts "groups" into the Touch

In gmail I have my contacts organized into in groups. When I sync, all the contacts show up but the gmail groups structure is not there. The groups page on the Touch lists "All Contacts", "All from my PC", etc. This is completely useless. Is there a way to preserve Google groups on the Touch? thanks

How are you accessing gmail on the iPhone?
If you are simply going to the mobile site, there is no way to accomplish what you want.
If you have it set up as POP3 or IMAP4, these only pull email, not contacts.
You can set up Gmail as an exchange account and sync contacts, calendar, and mail.

I m not sure i m in the right comunity.
    I have a brand new Ipad 2
In the SETTINGS page, when i press MAIL,CONTACT , CALENDARS the page back to the initial page and do not open the page requested..
    Any ideas?
    Tks for the help

A reboot should be enough to make it work.
    Just restart your computer.
Otherwise, make sure you're an administrator - as if you're not, it could be that the administrator put a restiction.

  • Haven't used icloud yet but if we have multiple devices with multiple contacts can we save each contact list to the cloud separately?

We have four separate iPhones with four separate contact list but one family apple ID.  If we back each device up to the cloud using the same apple ID will it keep the lists separate?

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs.  (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.)  This will prevent you from ending up with merged data.  You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

How do I download my contacts from my iPhone 4 to the cloud.   I have several contacts that I entered on my phone...they are not in yahoo.   I do not want to loose them when I upgrade to a 5

To transfer your data and settings to a new device see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109.  You can also use an app like My Contacts Backup to back up the contacts on your phone as attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  If you need to, you can later open this email on your new phone and tap the attachment to import your contacts.

  • Accessing corporate outlook calendar (on the cloud)

Before my office migrated our outlook accounts to the cloud last week, I could access my email and calendar on my Samsung Stratosphere.   Now, my calendar is gone.    Others who have droids in my office aren't having a problem.     I've tried deleting the account and adding it in, to no avail.  Help!

        Hello buffdroid,
Emails still remain as one of the most popular methods of communicating. In the corporate world, emails often take precedence over the traditional phone call. I can certainly understand the value of having your work email at your fingertips. May I ask have any of the email settings changed when your company migrated to the cloud? Can I assume that your calendar was moved to the cloud as well? If not then this could be a huge factor as to why you are unable to access your calendar on your phone. In such a case, I would recommend reaching out to your company’s IT dept to ensure that the remote settings needed for your device hasn’t changed, especially if you are no longer using Outlook or Outlook Web Access. Once you have done so, please share your findings as I’m sure that it may help another community member in the future.
