Gmail Contacts Sync Bug

Hi, when I sync my gmail contacts, any contact URLs will show upon my Z10 as http\:// instead of http://.
The extra backslash makes my urls unusable. It doesnt matter wether I store my url as www.x.com or as http://www.x.com in gmail, it always gets that extra backslash on my Z10 contacts.
This bug has been on all OS versions I have used, including 10.0.10.82, 10.0.10.99, 10.1.0.264, 10.1.0.273.
So hope someone reads this and fixes it, I just wana make BB10 flawless.
Thanks
Werner

Hello werwortmann,
Thank you for your question regarding Gmail contact synchronization on your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
Are you referring to websites you have added to the contact from Gmail Webmail? Do they appear on your BlackBerry Z10 under the website field in this manner?

  • HT4872 My gmail contacts synced into FaceTime, but not in my contacts app.  how do I get them into the contact app on my ipa?

My gmail contacts synced into the. FaceTime contacts, not my contact app on my new iPad.  I don't think that is wise since Siri or I may try to make a  phone contact may actually be a factime call, butI don't know how to get them into the app ( tried via the "add account in settings, and with a cheap Google synch app) .

They could be on another page on your iPhone, try doing a search for the apps.  If you still don't see them restart your iPhone by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.  If you are still having problems try to reset your home screen.

  • Nokia N8 or E7? GMail Contacts Sync?

Hi, I'm planning to dump my Motorola Milestone because of terrible support from Motorola and it's **bleep** camera.
I've been looking many places for a replacement, but I'm not happy yet (iPhone never). So my new phone has basically two requirements:
1 - Excelent camera. I beleive N8 12 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens will do what I need here.
2 - Contact syncing with GMail. One of the things I've found very useful in android is it's native contact sync with gmail contacts. It's never been easier to keep track of my contacts and manage them. I add a new contact on gmail, and quickly it syncs with my phone and I can already call my friend I added over from the internet. This is simply awesome. Besides, I don't want to have to export/import my contacts ever again. The process usually is not flawless and almost always it's a pain.  Does/Will Symbian^3 support contact binding to gmail? I don't want to use anything else. Is the format the same?
Now, I was thinking about getting the E7 because of the QWERTY physical keyboard. It makes my life so much easier/faster, I'd hate to come back to touch screen keyboards. The problem is that E7 aparently has lower hardware specs than N8. And it's camera does not have Carl Zeiss lens. Am I right?
I just wish N8 had a physical keyboard option, but I guess you can't have everything...
One last doubt. N8 does not support multi-touch right?
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Gmail Contacts Sync

    To Whom It May Concern:
My Gmail Contacts are not syncing since I wiped my BB. My BB is setup the same as it was and the Wireless Synchronisation option is set to Yes in the Contacts' Options. My e-mail and calendar still sync properly, how do I get my contacts to sync again?
    Delvian Valentine

I reluctantly decided to download Google Sync. I guess the Gmail Plug-in does not work properly.

  • Curve 9320 Gmail Contact Sync

Can anyone help? My curve 9320 will sync contacts from gmail but not to gmail. I've tried removing the account and re-inputting but with no difference. Really frustrating. Any ideas?

    FYI
Well I deleted the gmail id and configured again and it works absolutely fine now!!!

  • IPhone and Gmail contacts do sync - but not Apple Address Book

    Hi,
iPhone and Gmail contacts sync just fine. Only my Apple Address Book do not sync at all - neither with the iPhone nor Gmail.
I have activated syncing options with gmail in both Address Book and iTunes iPhone settings.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    ShamRockNRoll,
Have you noticed if it's a specific group that is not syncing correctly, or is it random contacts from all groups? If it's just a specific group, you may need to delete that group in Address Book and recreate it.
If it's random contacts from all groups and if all of the contacts you want on the iPhone are in Address Book, you can just select "Contacts" from the Advanced section down at the bottom of the Info tab. That will replace all contacts on the iPhone with those that you have selected to sync from Address Book.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • Google Contact Sync - Unwanted Changes

Often I will find that a contact either will suddenly have a different phone number from one day to the next always matching the phone number of another contact.  This happens while using the Gmail Contact Sync built-in to BIS.  For example:
    Day 1
John Smith with a mobile number of 123-456-7890.
Jack Jones with a mobile number of 555-555-5555.
    Day 2
John Smith has a mobile number of 555-555-5555.
Jack Jones has a mobile number of 555-555-5555.
This change will happen with no intervention on my part in either Google Contacts or on my phone.  John Smiths' old number will be lost (or worse, moved to a third contact unknown to me).
The result has been phone calls and text messages meant for one person going to another person entirely and unexpectedly.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a way to send feedback that this is happening and have it fixed?  Or anything I can do on my end to have this not happen any longer?  It is getting to be quite a problem.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hi,
In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.
To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.

  • IOS 4.3.1 - What happened to Gmail Contacts Push?

Can someone at Apple explain why: In iOS 4.3.1 the 'Contacts' option has been removed from Gmail account setup? Instead we now have to connect the iPhone physically to iTunes via USB and enable Gmail contact sync via the 'Info' tab? One can only speculate that Apple have finally realised that pushing contacts from Gmail ate into their MobileMe revenues to such an extent that they have elected to penalise Gmail (or should I say 'Google apps') users to impair Google and reposition MobileMe which is way overpriced?
    Or am I completely wrong?

So in order to configure push Gmail we have to use the MS Exchange wizard? NOT THE ONE CALLED GMAIL?
Push access for received email has NEVER been supported with a Gmail account on the iPhone until Google supported accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app.
What is the MS Exchange Wizard?
Meanwhile there is a sync to Gmail option under the iPhone iTunes Info tab?
This option has ALWAYS been available - since day one - long before Google supported accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. Some may prefer not accessing their Gmail account as an Exchange account. Some with a Gmail account don't store their contacts with their Google online address book. Because Google now supports accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app which everyone with a Gmail account may not want to use, Apple is supposed to remove the option to sync Google contacts direct via the iTunes sync process?

  • How do I sync my gmail contacts with the contacts already on my iPhone?

I just bought an iPhone 5c and the dealer manually transferred all of my (gmail) contacts from my Samsung Galaxy.  Now the contacts on my iPhone are no longer synced with my gmail account.  If I make changes to a contact on my iPhone, that change does not show up on my laptop when I am logged into my gmail account.
Can I fix this by turning "on" the "Contacts" button under Settings > mail, contacts, calendars > Gmail > contacts > on?
When I attempt this it asks me what I want to do with the existing contacts on my phone.  What do I want to do here?  If I say leave the contacts on my phone will the contacts merge or will I end up with duplicates?

You must have Contacts syncing on in your Gmail account settings on the iPhone.
As to the contacts already existing in your phone, you can either merge them with those in the Gmail server or delete them whatever suits you best.

  • Syncing Google Gmail Contacts with Address Book and iPhone Contacts

Can anyone recommend a good way to sync Google Gmail Contacts with the Address Book on the Mac and with Contacts on the iPhone?
I tried using ABGMerge, but could not get it to work so and am looking for other options. Thanks.

The Plaxo 3 non-pubic beta application currently supports only Mozilla and FireFox 1.5 and Internet Explorer 6. Safari support, and support for updated OS X thrid-party browsers, has not yet been released. To say that there are some anomalies and visual artifacts with Safari 2, would be an understatement. But, then, I often find this to be the case with beta—particularly, pre-public beta, software.
The current release—build 356—supports these 'sync points:'
    • Mac OS X through a System Preferences pane
    • AOL and AIM
    • LinkedIn
    • mobile access
    • MSN and WIndows Live
    • Outlook
    • Outlook Express
    • Windows Mail
    • Yahoo
It does not yet support Google. Or, not yet reliably or completely. The little 'hippo' that pops up periodically in the beta says, "Google Calendar Sync has been temporarily disabled. We are working diligently to resolve the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience."
The verdict at the moment: contact synchronization performs as it always has with Plaxo. Calendar synchronization is clearly not yet ready for prime-time, even to the Plaxo 3 web interface itself.

  • How to sync bb/outlook/gmail contacts and calendar

i have a bb 9530 and outlook 2007 running on a 64-bit windows 7 pc.  i use outlook to view my gmail.  i also have the bb gmail app on my phone and that keeps email in sync between gmail servers and the phone as well as outlook since it is setup for an imap account.  so that's all good.
the problem is that i need to know the best way to keep my contacts and calendar in sync as well.  since i can't "imap" my gmail contacts and calendar, there are 3 different locations to sync for those.
also, the gmail sync app for outlook has alot of problems on windows 7 and 64-bit vista or 7 so that didn't work either.
    any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks...  dave

I have the same problem.  Did you learn how to solve this?
    Thanks,
    Tracy

  • How do I sync phone contacts with (into) gmail contacts?

I'm using 3 different GMAIL accounts via my phone. Each GMAIL account (accessed via the web) has their own contact list. There are also some (many!) contacts that can only be accessed via my phone - that is, the information does not show up via web access in any of the three GMAIL accounts.
Is there a way to sync / export all phone contacts in to one particular GMAIL account?
I've tried Verizon Backup Assistant, but this did not fix the problem. I think all it did was back up (to backup assistant) about ~650 of my ~1700 contacts.
    Many thanks!
    Melissa

certainly, export each contact list, #1, #2, #3, then import all 3 into the one email account you select & only have that gmail account doing the sync.
ba is limited to 1000 & only does phone numbers, email must be added manually.
    fwiw:
i use both with ba as the primary but anything i enter into gmail contacts, on the pc, is on the phone immediately because i only sync contacts & calendar, gmail isn't my primary email.

  • Why can't I access my gmail contacts from gmail app whilst on gmail; subtext: why do I need to sync with iTunes to access my contacts?

    Why?

You don't. I don't sync my Gmail contacts through iTunes. The Mail app accesses them just fine. You just have to set up the Gmail account as an Exchange Account. The instructions are available in Google's help documents.

  • Is there a technical reason why I can't sync both my iCloud and Yahoo/Gmail contacts at once?

Is there a technical reason why I can't sync both my iCloud and Yahoo/Gmail contacts at once? I would like to be able to sync between all three services.

Definetely not. It's as simple as maintaining a single database and use it for iCloud, Google, Yahoo or any other... like it was earlier. It's just Apple being barbaric in their strategy to restrict use of competing devices and services.

  • Duplicated contact when I synced with gmail contact and iCloud. How can I do?

Duplicated contact when I synced with gmail contact and iCloud. How can I do?

On your iOS device tap Settings > iCloud. Turn Contacts off.
Reset the device. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Now tap Settings > iCloud. Turn Contacts back on.
