Gmail contacts

I am using a 2014 macbook air with OSX 10.9.4. It's my fist Mac so be gentle with me.
I cannot find my gmail contacts file
When I look at my gmail screen I would like to be able to find where all my stored email addresses are. In gmail in Windows you click the 'Contacts' button on top left of the screen and your whole contacts list appears. How can I get to the same contacts screen on my Macbook.
I spent a good half hour trying to answer my own question on Google and on this forum but everybody wants to tell me how to sync my contacts with my address book. I have no idea what this means, I don't think that I want to sync anything I just want to see my contacts list.
Maybe it doesn't exist in the Apple version of gmail? Which would be sad.
In hope........
Richard

I'm not sure which Sprint utility you're using. If it's truly synchronizing then it wouldn't delete anything. Contacts from gmail would go back to your phone. It doesn't tell you anything in the Sprint utility instructions about it?

  • How do I sync my gmail contacts with the contacts already on my iPhone?

I just bought an iPhone 5c and the dealer manually transferred all of my (gmail) contacts from my Samsung Galaxy.  Now the contacts on my iPhone are no longer synced with my gmail account.  If I make changes to a contact on my iPhone, that change does not show up on my laptop when I am logged into my gmail account.
Can I fix this by turning "on" the "Contacts" button under Settings > mail, contacts, calendars > Gmail > contacts > on?
When I attempt this it asks me what I want to do with the existing contacts on my phone.  What do I want to do here?  If I say leave the contacts on my phone will the contacts merge or will I end up with duplicates?

You must have Contacts syncing on in your Gmail account settings on the iPhone.
As to the contacts already existing in your phone, you can either merge them with those in the Gmail server or delete them whatever suits you best.

  • One way to use Gmail contact via EAS airsync.

As the Gmail provide Exchange service, we can use EAS airsync on iPhone.
1,If you contact is in you SIM card, you should import you contacts inti iPhone then use iTunes to transfer your contacts into Gmail contact. We can register a new gmail account for empty contact.
2,edit your contact in new gmail contacts.
3,export the contacts as a file, and import it into your using gmail contact. Note: the iPhone only sync "my contact group" in gmail. we can set other contact we do not want to sync in other group.
4, add exchange account in iPhone, server:m.google.com Accont:[email protected]
5,when you open contact sync, select "delete your phone contact".
6,you can also open clendars sync as well.
7,check your contact on iPhone, you will found "google cotacts" in group, this is same as gmail contacts "my contacts" group. and you can search all gmail contact in Global address list.
    Have fun with it.

If the support isn't there, you can't add it yourself.
However, you could try the Gmail Java app to read email:

  • How do i add Gmail contacts to iCloud?

Has anyone figured out a way to sync Google Contacts and iCloud contacts?

The first step would be exporting your GMail contacts as a vcard:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=24911&hl=en
What you do next depends on how you've been syncing your iPhone 4 up until now:
    - if via iTunes on a Mac, import the vcard file(s) into Address Book app.  Then sync your contacts with your iCloud contacts (System Preferences > iCloud > Contacts[checked]).
    - if via iTunes on a PC, download the iCloud Control Panel (http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html) and import the vcard file(s) into your contact manager program (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.).

  • Syncing Google Gmail Contacts with Address Book and iPhone Contacts

Can anyone recommend a good way to sync Google Gmail Contacts with the Address Book on the Mac and with Contacts on the iPhone?
I tried using ABGMerge, but could not get it to work so and am looking for other options. Thanks.

The Plaxo 3 non-pubic beta application currently supports only Mozilla and FireFox 1.5 and Internet Explorer 6. Safari support, and support for updated OS X thrid-party browsers, has not yet been released. To say that there are some anomalies and visual artifacts with Safari 2, would be an understatement. But, then, I often find this to be the case with beta—particularly, pre-public beta, software.
The current release—build 356—supports these 'sync points:'
    • Mac OS X through a System Preferences pane
    • AOL and AIM
    • LinkedIn
    • mobile access
    • MSN and WIndows Live
    • Outlook
    • Outlook Express
    • Windows Mail
    • Yahoo
It does not yet support Google. Or, not yet reliably or completely. The little 'hippo' that pops up periodically in the beta says, "Google Calendar Sync has been temporarily disabled. We are working diligently to resolve the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience."
The verdict at the moment: contact synchronization performs as it always has with Plaxo. Calendar synchronization is clearly not yet ready for prime-time, even to the Plaxo 3 web interface itself.

  • How to sync bb/outlook/gmail contacts and calendar

i have a bb 9530 and outlook 2007 running on a 64-bit windows 7 pc.  i use outlook to view my gmail.  i also have the bb gmail app on my phone and that keeps email in sync between gmail servers and the phone as well as outlook since it is setup for an imap account.  so that's all good.
the problem is that i need to know the best way to keep my contacts and calendar in sync as well.  since i can't "imap" my gmail contacts and calendar, there are 3 different locations to sync for those.
also, the gmail sync app for outlook has alot of problems on windows 7 and 64-bit vista or 7 so that didn't work either.
    any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks...  dave

I have the same problem.  Did you learn how to solve this?
    Thanks,

  • How can I import all my gmail contacts into iPad? I use iPad mini and the solutions available on the web are not compatible.

How can I import all my gmail contacts into iPad? I use iPad mini and the solutions available on the web are not compatible.

Hello and thanks for the answer.
I meant by "not compatible" that all the solutions that I found on the web did not work, especially the "Microsoft exchange" one.
Fortunately I found on the comments of the first website you mentioned the right answer for me, which I copy below:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDav Account.
Enter the following information in the fields:
    Server: google.com
User Name: Enter your full Google email address
    Password: Your Google account password
Select Next at the top of the screen to complete the setup.
After you have completed the setup, open the Contacts app on your device. Syncing should begin automatically.
    Additional Information
Note: Make sure that SSL is enabled (under Advanced settings), and that the port is 443.
If you are using application based special password go to https://accounts.google.com/Se... and instead of your password put that special code and u r done.

  • Question about synching gmail contacts with address book

    Hi,
I recently discovered that it is possible to synch gmail contacts with apple addressbook. I also found out this feature only works if you have an iphone or an ipod touch. Unfortunatly, I don't have either. I then discovered there was a work around for this:
    http://lifehacker.com/393855/enable-google-contact-sync-without-an-iphoneipod-to uch
    *My question is*..............
I'm planning on getting an iphone in half a year and if i mess with these settings will i have to change them back to be able to synch my iphone? or will my iphone be able to synch with the way the new settings are anyway?
    Thanks

Does your question have anything remotely to do with iWeb 09? This is an iWeb 09 forum - did you not look where you were posting?
No - so it is not relevant to this forum. Please post in somewhere that is more relevant, such as the iPhone forum or the iPad forum.

  • How do I disconnect from MS Exchange and Gmail Contacts?

When I got my iPhone 3GS (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...) I set it up to sync its address book (Contacts) to my Gmail contact list using some instructions I found which used "Microsoft Exchange Server". Worked pretty well so I then linked my wife's iPhone Contacts to *my* Gmail list so we would have the same list of addresses. Seemed to work. Over time, however, the list ballooned and various useless addresses got added (Gmail would add those people to whom I simply had replied on an email - I have fixed that!)
Now, there is iCloud and my wife and I have shiny new iPhone 5 phones. I hope to "clean up" my current list of addresses and then use that as my new starting point for contacts/addresses. I would like to disconnect from Gmail's contact list and link the Address Book on my iMac and the two iPhones to use the same list of contacts - and I presume that using iCloud for the Mac/iPhones would make the most sense. I still want to be able to use Gmail - but I don't want its contact list clogging *my* iPhone/iMac address book list.
I transferred my old iPhone settings to my new iPhone. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes and go to the "Info" page, the "Sync Contacts" box is unchecked but there is a statement "Your contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air. You c..." Despite my clicking various boxes, I can't get the rest of the message nor can I figure out how to stop this MS Exchange syncing!! Here is a screen shot:
I have looked on my iPhone and can't find any reference to starting/stopping MS Exchange syncing. I can't seem to find anywhere on my Mac that will let me change the setting either.
I would appreciate any help with this or suggestions on a better way of linking our two iPhones and my Mac to use the same contact list - and to maintain control over it, specifically how to keep it separate from Gmail contacts.
    Thanks for your help.
    David

    Not possible.
When turning over the air syncing for contact info off with an Exchange or MobileMe account, or when deleting the account from the iPhone, contact info will be removed from the iPhone.
You need to export the contact info from the Exchange server in a format that is supported for importing by the Address Book on your Mac.

I have another kind of problem with Firefox
    == Description
    ==
In migrating from an XP PC to a new Win 7 PC, I downloaded Firefox to the new PC and it worked fine - got my Gmail contacts, calendar, etc. Later I used Micros Soft's Windows Easy Transfer to move data, profiles, etc to the new PC. Then could log onto Gmail but it would not show Contacts or Calendar. I then uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it - nohelp, then I did a system to Restore to before I did the Windows Easy Transfer - no help, then I manually moved my Firefox Profile from the XP machine - no help. BTW at least one other website does not display correctly: http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/Main.action. NOTE - through all this Internet Explorer has shown these sites correctly.

Oops - for some reason, this problem now seems to have gone away. May have had something to do with Flash. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

  • How do I sync phone contacts with (into) gmail contacts?

I'm using 3 different GMAIL accounts via my phone. Each GMAIL account (accessed via the web) has their own contact list. There are also some (many!) contacts that can only be accessed via my phone - that is, the information does not show up via web access in any of the three GMAIL accounts.
Is there a way to sync / export all phone contacts in to one particular GMAIL account?
I've tried Verizon Backup Assistant, but this did not fix the problem. I think all it did was back up (to backup assistant) about ~650 of my ~1700 contacts.
    Many thanks!
    Melissa

certainly, export each contact list, #1, #2, #3, then import all 3 into the one email account you select & only have that gmail account doing the sync.
ba is limited to 1000 & only does phone numbers, email must be added manually.
    fwiw:
i use both with ba as the primary but anything i enter into gmail contacts, on the pc, is on the phone immediately because i only sync contacts & calendar, gmail isn't my primary email.

  • IPad won't display my Gmail contacts in the Contacts app that comes with the IPad.

I have never been able to get my Gmail contacts imported into the Contacts app that comes with the IPad.

If you can be more specific about what you have tried, someone might be able to offer other solutions.
I sync my contacts and calendar with Gmail too. I don't use iCloud for syncing contacts. I have set it up as an exchange account. That works on both my ipad and iphone. Any changes made to either is reflected on the other.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add new account>Microsoft Exchange. Leave out the domain name. The server when asked is m.google.com. Turn on contacts (and calendar or mail if you use them) and that's it.
If that does not work, perhaps you can describe what issue you are having.

  • Can I revert my contacts back a month? The cloud  is suppose to merge contacts, why does it look like my verizon contacts were replaced by my gmail contacts?

It looks like my phone contacts were updated to my gmail contacts? I lost phone numbers I know I had and now I have all these stupid email addresses in my contacts. Will I be able to get my numbers back from my verizon backup?  can they reload from a previous backup?

Great question Cheech446. If you previously used backup assistance with your last phone yes you can use it with your new phone http://vz.to/1mF0GIx. The information will also transfer if you did a back up recently on previous phone.

  • Synch Gmail contacts on Nokia 3120 Classic

    Hi,
How can I synch the Gmail contacts with my Nokia 3120 Classic Mobile phone?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi jabhijeet,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Your phone doesn't support such functionality, but you can log into your social network accounts on your phone for you to be able to view their contact info.
Another option is to add your contacts manually. To do this, tap People > swipe to contacts and then follow the steps below:
Tap the Add (+) icon .
If you're signed in to several accounts, select the account to which you want to save the contact.
Add the contact details, and tap Save icon. Note that your contacts are backed up automatically to your Microsoft account.
