Gmail emails disappearing from my Mail inbox

Hi,
I use the Mail program to manage my emails on my MacBook Pro (as well as my iPad and iPhone). I recently set up a gmail account and have been having a strange problem. Sometimes after I read a gmail, it disappears from my Mail Inbox folder. I haven't been able to figure out a pattern as it doesn't seem to do it every time. When our IT manager configured my computer for gmail, I ended up with a Gmail folder and two subfolders called "All Mail and one called "Important" on my Mail desktop. I told him I didn't want or need those folders but he couldn't get rid of them. When the gmails disappear from my Mail Inbox, I can always find them in one or both of these Gmail folders. But the problem is I get so many emails I don't always notice that one has disappeared until it is too late! This is causing some significant problems. No one has been able to figure out how to stop these emails from moving on their own. Our IT manager is more familiar with PCs than Macs. I hope you can help!! It's very frustrating!

No. The email never makes it to me. It is on my iPhone for an instant, but then it disappears. It never makes it to my Outlook on my computer, and it is not in the Junk Mail, Deleted Items, or in my Sonic Wall Spam Filter box. There are 4 other people in my office, and I know that at least 2 of them are having the same problem. I can't tell if this is a problem with my iPhone or my Exchange Server. Help!

Hello. Email has disappeared from Mac Mail. Running last updated Mavericks. I went back in the time machine settings to revert to the day before the mail disappeared, and each time I go in there, I can see the mail showing up. Except, when I go to revert, nothing transfers back into the account. Any advice on what is going on and how to fix it? Years of mail are now "gone."

Okay, there is definitely an error message coming up in the log. I only selected a few messages from 2008 to restore. I selected just one of the error log messages I received (essentially one for each email it tried to restore). Thanks for all your help. As an aside, if it helps you to respond, I've just started a computer science degree, so I'm starting to feel my way around this stuff, but have a good cursory understanding. Not to say that your directions aren't just succinct and perfectly laid out!

Sent emails disappearing from Apple Mail

Hello, I'm finding that sent emails are disappearing from my sent folder in Apple Mail. I was having this issue with the account's IMAP settings, so I've deleted the account and used the Exchange settings – same issue. It was working fine for a while, and then they've stopped saving in the sent folder altogether.
If I send emails through webmail, there's no issue.
Machine / Software –
OS X 10.10.2 on an iMac 21.5" 3.06Ghz Core i3 with 12GB of RAM

Have exactly the same problem.
Sent six emails, without realising they wouldn't get saved in Sent Folder.
Moreover, i messaged one of the people i sent an email to and he told me the email did not arrive?

How do I permanently delete email messages from my Mail inbox?

Ever since I migrated from Mobile Me to iCloud, I can't seem to delete messages from my MacBook Mail inbox. They just reappear seconds later. What do I need to do to delete them permanently? I've tried looking in the settings, preferences, accounts, etc. I've also made sure to select the "hide deleted messages" from the View tab. Please help! I am sure that there is a simple solution. They are also staying on my iPhone and iPad.

Settings > General > Spotlight Search > Uncheck Messages
It's that or Restore the device as New with iTunes

Starred gmail emails disappear from inbox

Hi,
I am using the native mail app on iphone4 for my gmail. I would like to star my emails in my inbox, and retain a copy in the inbox. So far, I could move the email to the "Starred" folder, but this removes the email from my inbox. Any suggestions?

Many possible reasons; hard to tell without more information.
Somebody (maybe you) could be deleting them from another device.
A filter on another device could be moving them to another mailbox.
You could be deleting them accidentally.

I use TB 31.4.0 on Win 8.1. I have 2 pipex & 2 gmail addresses. Sometimes all emails disappear from 1 pipex inbox. Restarting TB clears it. Why?

Emails disappearing from iPhone 5 inbox..

Hi,
I have just recently 'upgraded' to an iPhone 5, and all was well until this evening, when all of my inbox emails vanished. I have changed no settings, and have done nothing more than sign onto my laptop Outlook inbox.
I have 2 email addresses, and the Gmail seems unaffected.
I have tried to find some answers from other posts, but do not have a mail 'days to sync' option, nor am I with Go Daddy, or similar.. And I need access to my read emails on my phone!
I would be very grateful for any assistance please! (And I count myself as strictly non-techie, so please be detailed... )

Maybe also try going to->settings for the specific email account. From Mail, Contacts, Calendar settings, tap on the specific account you are having a problem with. Then, tap on the Account tab at the top (usually has your E-Mail address in there also). You should see your server information. Down at the bottom tap on Advanced. Go to Deleted Messages. I have 10.6 server and 10.8 client
the problem is when email (imap) received to mac mail (10.8.5) i can see some activity notification, but after few moments the email is not in inbox anymore also not in trash.
Anyone help ?

Try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

i watched this happen several times...i requested an email notification from wordpress over and over to see if i could click on the email in inbox fast enough to open it before it went to never neverland but nada. could not be done. i turned off the junk mail sorter in preferences. even though it was not to be found in junk mail on my mail app or icloud mail or iphone nada...what else is dissappearing?

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. Have lost about a years of saved emails from my inbox....I DID NOT delete them. One day they were there the next they are gone. I have settings on account and phone set to 'never delete'. Comcast foreign operators are of no help and eventually 'hang up' on me.....Poor service...They say can't get them, too bad, so sad.....Now if I was the NSA I could get them!Any way to find them or some other tech number to bypass the robots on the 800 number???Can't afford to lose anymore important emails, so if cannot be resolved, may look elswhere for a provider.

Most often email disappears from Comcast's "Xfinity Connect" webmail Inbox because an email program (ex: Outlook, Mac Mail) or mobile device (smartphone, tablet) using the POP protocol downloads the mail and removes it from the server.
Check all mobile devices and email programs on all computers. The missing mail may be in the Inbox of one of these. If necessary, change the Comcast password for the affected userID to prevent mail from being removed. You can change your password in "My Account" (https://customer.xfinity.com/Secure/UserSettings/) under "Users & Preferences" / (username) / "Basic Settings" / Username / "Change password". Once you identify the offending device or program, change its settings to "Leave a copy on the server", and make sure that a "Delete after xxx days" or similar setting is not active.
The "Email Deletion Schedule" settings in Xfinity Connect do not protect messages from being removed by email programs or mobile devices.

Email disappearing from iPad when I download in iMac

My wife is having the problem that looks like the ISP's (GCI.net) email server is deleting email from my iPad.
With her iMac off, when she is traveling, she can download and read email on her iPad. All the email stays there, unless she intentionally deletes something.
BUT, when she get home from a trip and goes to check email using Apple's Mail on her iMac, which is set to "Remove from server ...," she can WATCH as the email disappears from her iPad -- I have watched this. This has been very frustrating, as I have tried everything I can think of to no avail. My old PowerMac and my older iPod Touch has no problem with GCI email. I have gobs of savedemail on the iPod with the same Mail settings on the PowerMac (I do plan to upgrade to an Intel Mac, this fall, btw).
Searching the web and here inthe Apple forums, I have so far not found anyone with this situation. It acts like the email content on the iPad is only what is on the GCI.net servers. When my iMac removes those, they disappear from the iPad. But, I seen no settings on the iMac or iPad that will fix this. I have tried everything I can think of.
Her Gmail account works fine on her iPad.
The iMac is set up with POP account. (As is my PMG5). The iPad was forced to set up a POP account (as a possible solution) for GCI email because the default IMAP is where we first discovered the issue of the server appearing to delete email from the iPad.

Some of the older 30-pin-to-USB cables have catches on the iPad end. The connector block on them extends further from the iPad than the ones without the catch; they are almost square. You have to squeeze the sides of the connector to disengage the catches.
I'm not sure what being in iTunes has to do with it, though.

Emails disappear from iPhone with exchange

I have gmail set up with exchange and after a period of time the emails disappear from the iPhone, but remain on my computer and gmail account. I have changed the 'days to sync' to no limit, but no change. I have also changed the 'show email' setting to the max (200 messages) but nothing changes.

Just to be CRISTAL CLEAR please don't reply with export instructions from the address book.....not interested in this.
I have customers that fill-out a request form online, then the data is sent to our database on our server, and another copy is sent to my email account. The server database got corrupted and is now lost. The only data left are in my email app called APPLE MAIL. I have created Filtered Folders so the data is just in one Folder, not mixed with all other emails. Is there a way to export the email names & addresses from APPLE MAIL to a CVS file or Excel file?
Again this is not a question related to Apple Address Book. This is ONLY for Apple MAIL exporting!

The script to use from the collection of scripts is Add Addresses (Mail) which adds addresses found in the selected messages (in the header fields "From", "To", "Cc", and "Bcc") to the Address Book.
