Gmail,hotmail and yahoo

Question

I have convinced my company to buy the first Mac after a long struggle:) And finally started to use it on our network which consists of windows servers, solaris and unixes. However, since I am the only one using a Mac and no IT assistant to support me. I have to figure out and solve the problems I am facing myself:( I would really appreciate any help to come over those problem.
1- Mail application was far from being usefull for corporate use. So I had to switch to MS Entrouge. Even with small problems(gives a certificate error when i open it) its useable. Problem is, I cant reach the corporate address book where i can see the users which i was able to do on MS Outlook.
2- I can't print via the network printer. There is a printer located on network, I can see it, install it(I have manually set the correct printer). However when i try to print, it gives me an error.
3- I was able to access gmail, hotmail,yahoo in first days. But I dont knwo what happened. I can't access to gmail,yahoo, hotmail neither from safari nor from firefox. I have resetted both, cleaned cache, cleaned history, deleted keychains. What ever i do, i can't open those pages. On windows partition i can reach them without a problem
4- There a shared folders on our network for my department. I used to keep shortcuts of those network folders on my desktop to easly reach. However, I have to find them each time i start my computer. How could i create shortcuts for them on my desktop?
5- Whats the thing with desktop? Sometimes the files i save on desktop doesnt appear until i restart. I can see them from 'finder' but i can't see them on my desktop? I suppose thats a bug from OSX but i can't understand how come thats not fixed until yet. Also saving images from safari is a pain, since i can only save them to my desktop, as its the only option, is there a way to do save as?
6-I use an iMac "24 with 1GB of Ram. But funny, it feels slower than the intel mac mini 1,64 i use at home. Could it be the computer on network causing it to work slower.
7- Safari cant deal with FTP's at all. So I had to install 'firefox' and a pluggin to deal with FTP. But honestly, miss internet explorer on that case. It was so much better than both.
8-My archive files from MS Office(pst) cant be imported neither on 'mail' nor on entrouge:( They are about 2GB, and so far from what i read, it cant be done easy. and it cant be done from a Mac
I am sorry, if I sound a bit complaining, but because of these problems, I really had hard time to keep projects on time. I love using my Mac at home, but corporate use of a mac seems like a whole different experience. My emigrations hasnt passed so easy already....
And official distributor in my county fail to provide enough support on any of these problems.
I would really appreciate if you would help me out...

Backup the device in iTunes.
Restore as new.
Setup one account on the device and test.  If it works, set up the other accounts one at a time and test.  If this works, there is some screwy setting in your backup that is the culprit.
If this does not work, restore from the backup created in the first step to get all your data back/settings back.
