If you got that Java update from anywhere but Oracle's web site, it's almost a certainty you installed a Trojan. If that's the case, there's no telling what it does. Could be a keylogger, back door, etc.
Beyond that, yes, Java is so full of holes Swiss Cheese is envious. Unless there's some trusted site you can't use without having Java on, turn it off and leave it off.
Note that JavaScript has nothing to do with Java. Leave JavaScript on.

i tried to open itunes and it said "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem" and "itunes was not installed correctly. please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (windows error 126)" what does this mean and how do I fix it? I reinstalled itunes and this just popped up again :C

I rent a movie on iTunes stores, downloading it to my iPad2, but during the movie, the reading stop from capter 10 to End. Registry cleaners have very little good use, and usually end up damaging more computers than they fix. I'd recommend uninstalling the software.
That being said, Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.

Are you a 100% sure??? Because I'm definitely given the option to do this and there are even downloads to this effect, i.e. iPhone 3G ios 6.0. I am even given this option when I plug my iPhone into iTunes. The only problem I'm having is what I have mentioned above.

That one is a DirectX 8 module and might not be included in the most recent DirectX 9 redistributable available from Microsoft. If it's been installed as part of a partial DirectX 8 install (as part of a game for example), that can cause the issue. Can you track down a full DirectX 8 redistributable? If so, if you install that, does that clear up the iTunes error? -

Did you try deleting the app, reinstall it and then see if you can make the purchase? Tap and hold down on the app icon until it jiggles on the screen and then tap the X on the icon to delete it. Tap the home button to stop all of the apps from jiggling. Download the app again. See if you can make the purchase then. -
