Gmail Notes syncing issue

i have iphone 4 working flawlessly syncing the notes from the ipad and gmail.
Now i got the ipad. i follow the same method of adding email accounts and add GMAIL on IMAP account and turn on ONLY NOTES.
Now i open the notes application and nothing is there.
I go to settings > Notes ... only show Font choices, no Default account.
What should i do? how can i add Gmail as my defualt notes account???

I am having a similar problem, so no, I do not have an answer for you.
My iPhone syncs email to my multiple GMail accounts, and also syncs notes through those same GMail accounts.  It works and has worked like a charm.  I set up my new iPad 2, with 4.3.3 preinstalled, and cannot get it to sync notes (except through USB back to my MacBook).  I cannot even get it to display the "default account" selector area in Settings --> Notes (just the fonts).
The GMail accounts are the same ones the iPhone is accessing, and the setup is the same on the iDevice (accounts are set-up as Exchange accounts).
Any thoughts on fixing this?

  • Possible fix for Gmail not syncing after recent update

    Hey all,
I've seen at least one person on the forums who's had issues with their Gmail not syncing after the latest update. I thought I would pass along my solution to the problem in case it worked for others. After I updated to the latest version of the iPhone software a couple of days ago, my mail accounts from Gmail were behaving strangely. For one thing, all of my saved e-mails on the iPhone were deleted. For another, it no longer received any e-mail from those accounts. Finally, I decided to test it out by creating a new e-mail account on my iPhone to sync with a disused Gmail address that I had not yet set up for IMAP on my phone. To my surprise, it worked perfectly! Then, after I checked the details of the new e-mail account with those of my existing accounts, I discovered that the incoming server port number was incorrect on the other accounts. It was 995 when it ought to have been 993. When I corrected the port numbers, all of the accounts synced perfectly. I hope that might work for someone else. It was at least worth a post on the forums, I figured. Have a wonderful St. Patrick's day, everyone!

Fantastic! Worked a treat - thanks!

  • HT6030 I am still having issues with GMAIL not syncing or moving it's duplicating items as I move them to folders and my inbox is overflowing now..... help?

according to the last update it was supposed to fix the gmail issue in apple mail with syncing/archiving/etc. now it is not only duplicating but still not syncing properly and moving emails once I've moved them/ My inbox is overflowing and this is NOT acceptable.

as rediculous as this is, I enabled "all mail" under the labels, then went into the actual apple mail settings and checked some box about updateing immediately (for deleted items) . then I had to quit mail then open it back up  - it "appears" to have synced properly. I'll let you know if it all comes back, but this is really a pain in the butt, I swapped from Entourage a few months back because it started acting weird with gmail.
anyone have any other mail options if this continues to not work? I don't want to have to pull gmail in my browser to move read items each day.
    thanks for all the help.

  • Notes Sync issue

I have 2 issues with notes not syncing properly.  We have 2 MBP on 10.8.2 and one iPhone 4 and 1 iPhone 4c, both on 6.0.0
The 4S phone syncs to it's MBP fine, meaning that notes created or edited on the phone sync to the MBP ok.
The iPhone 4 won't sync when notes are created or edited on the phone.  Also the phone has 5 notes created before Mtn Lion and IOS 6 updates and the won't show up on th eMBP either. The iPhone 4 will sync to new notes created via the MBP.
Both iPhones exhibit the same issue going from the laptop to the phone.  If a note is edited ( a list gets another other item) the sync creates a duplicted note with the changes only showing up on the new duplicate note.
Any thoughts on what might be going on here?  The lack of syncing in one direction with the iPhone 4 combo is a bigger issue.  I think the other problem night be a bug, as it is consistant on both cases.

    Carolyn,
I had already tried this though separately.  So I did as you suggested, both on the iPhone 4 and the MBP at the same time..........same results.
For further info......Reminders seems to sync OK as does iCal.  iCal is pretty slow but it gets there eventully.
    Any other ideas out there???

  • ICloud contacts on iPhone and Gmail not syncing to Mac

A friend has an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1) and a Mac Book Pro (OSX Lion). He wanted the contacts from his Gmail account to appear on his iPhone. This was easy enough - I just added his Gmail account to his iPhone under Mail, Contacts Calendars.
The problem - we want all of these contacts to sync with his Mac. Both if the iPhone and Mac have iCloud enabled with the same account. Accounts are set to sync. However, the only contacts appearing on him Mac are the ones that were already there. It's not syncing all accounts from his iPhone.
    Any suggestions?

iCloud won't sync Gmail contacts, it will only sync iCloud contacts.  If he wants to use Gmail for contacts, he should add his Gmail account to his Mac too.  If all of the contacts on his phone are not appearing on his Mac after doing this, then some of them must not belong to the Gmail account and would need to be added to his Gmail contacts.
If he wants to use iCloud to sync his Gmail contacts instead, he can copy all of his contacts to iCloud as follows:
Go to Settings>iCloud on the phone, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup.  (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.)  Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from Gmail and any other non-iCloud accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap Gmail and any other non-iCloud accounts and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts (otherwise you will see duplicate contacts on your device).
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other accounts back to your device, and to iCloud.

  • Contacts from gmail not syncing to icloud

    Hi,
I am using an iphone 6 and having a difficult time trying to sync the contacts to icloud.
Already synced contacts from my gmail to iphone using carddav account information in the contacts settings.
But this contact list is not being synced to icloud (Ony the new contacts i add are being synced)
How do I sync these contacts to icloud?
    Thanks

    Hey firedude3!
It’s possible that you have iCloud syncing turned on for your calendar, but not turned on for your Contacts. Make sure that the Contact syncing is turned on by following the instructions listed here:
    Add contacts - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph14a87326
    Besides entering contacts, you can:
Use your iCloud contacts:  Go to Settings > iCloud, then turn on Contacts.
If that setting is already turned on, then you will want to use this article as reference for troubleshooting the issue:

  • Gmail not syncing with .Mac

    Hi,
I am having an issue with Gmail and Mail that I can't find a solution to anywhere and I am hoping that someone here can provide some insight.
I use Mail.app on a G5 and an iBook and use .Mac to keep mail, calendar and addresses in-sync b/w the two. I have 4 email accounts set up in Mail.app: DotMac, Gmail, Qwest.net and another POP account. All of them work sync fine b/w the two machines except for Gmail. I can receive Gmail on either machine without any problem. The trouble begins when I receive Gmail on one machine, sync with .Mac, and then go to the other machine and sync with .Mac there. The Gmail email that I received on the first machine and already read doesn't show up on the new machine. However, the other email addresses all do this just fine. Does it have something to do with the way Gmail's POP service works? I have Gmail set to archive emails. Does that matter?
I would greatly appreciate any help. This has been killing me!
    Thnx!
    Brian
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Brian.
First of all, .Mac doesn’t synchronize locally stored mail between computers. Only mail stored on the server can be synchronized, and you don’t need .Mac for that; any IMAP account would do. If you can see mail received on your POP accounts on both computers, it’s because they’re both downloading it from the server, not because of any .Mac synchronization.
Moreover, Gmail POP access doesn’t work as a normal POP mail server would. Here are some of its idiosyncrasies:
    1. Messages downloaded by any conventional POP mail client are marked as downloaded at the server (but not as read on the web), and no longer available to either the same or any other POP mail client.
    2. To make already downloaded Gmail messages available for POP access again, you must log into your Gmail account with a web browser and re-enable POP downloading for all your messages, which will cause everything (and I mean everything) still there to be downloaded again.
    3. Any Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings have absolutely no effect on the messages stored on Gmail’s server. The reason is that, after being downloaded, those messages are no longer available to any mail client, not even to the same client that has just downloaded them, not even for deleting them or checking whether they are still there.
    4. Messages created and sent using the web interface will be downloaded by your POP mail client as if they were incoming messages. You can set up a rule in Mail to automatically route those messages to the appropriate Sent mailbox (or to any other mailbox for that matter) if that's what you want. Although this may seem weird, it's good because it allows archiving all messages locally in Mail, regardless of how they were sent -- as long as you don't access the same Gmail account with more than one POP mail client, that is.
    5. Messages created and sent using a POP mail client such as Mail are also treated as if they were incoming messages for POP purposes, just as in 4. What prevents them from being downloaded is that Gmail marks them as already downloaded immediately. They would, however, be downloaded if Gmail settings were changed as described in 2 above.
    6. As a particular case of 5, messages sent to yourself will appear in your Inbox on the web, but cannot be downloaded by either the same or any other POP mail client.

    Hi,
What version of OneNote are you using? Is it a desktop version?
Where are your notebooks stored? On OneDrive or SharePoint?
Have you tried syncing your notebook from OneNote Online? This can help determine if the problem is caused by the server or by OneNote.
In addition, if it's a desktop version of OneNote, please try starting OneNote with /safeboot switch and then clearing the notebook cache to see the result. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
onenote /safeboot and press Enter. In the opened dialog, click
Delete Notebook Cache button. Please note that this button will close all opened notebooks in your OneNote, but you can reopen them later.

  • Gmail not syncing.

My gmail has not been syncing since last night. Anyone else having this problem?

Well, it started working about 10am this morning (after 30 hours down). I pushed the sync button and it caught up.
I had done everything you suggest, turned the phone off several times, turned off wifi, etc.
I hope this is not going to be a regular thing.
    Thanks, everyone, for the responses.

  • Why isn't my gmail not syncing

my mail is not syning into my computer, what could be the reason for this?  the last mail synced to my computer was in june 2012.

hello Lippman, your useragent (the information the browser sends to websites to identify its version) - apparently mistakenly - shows you're on firefox version 3.6 (which is very outdated so google will probably offer a reduced set of features). some sort of toolbar or adware has overwritten it.
<br>please refer to this article in order to reset the user-agent settings in firefox: [[Websites say that Firefox is outdated or incompatible even though it's the latest version]]

  • MBP 6,2 is authorized, then says its not. (sync issues, IPad2)

Very strange, my itunes on the MBP 6,2 was authorized (5/5). When I tried to sync some MP3's from my MBP to ipad2, it starts step 1, but quickly aborts before step 2. It's telling me that the computer is NOT authorized. So I logged out/in again and sure enough, it's telling me that the MBP is authorized.
I reset all the authorized computers to 0/0 and tried again to no avail. This has never happened to me before and I have no clue what to do next.
I then tried to move the same mp3's from the MBP to my iPhone4 and it worked flawlessly... I'm so confused.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  • Easy steps to troubleshoot the Outlook Email sync issue

One question about Outlook that has been asked the most is, why some emails don’t sync in Outlook? Or there should be an email received but why I can’t see it in Outlook?
On this topic, we’ve seen a lot of articles on Microsoft and some other 3rd-party web sites, usually the explanation and the troubleshooting steps are so long that we don’t know where to start. I’m writing this article to make something easier. Not an encyclopaedia
about Outlook sync issues, just a few things we can take a look at before something really “difficult”.
For Exchange Accounts to troubleshoot, of course, this Microsoft Knowledge Base is helpful:
How to troubleshoot synchronization problems when you synchronize your Exchange Server mailbox with your .ost file in Outlook
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842284/en-us
Here below I will introduce some common causes of the Emails not sync issues in Outlook, steps are based on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, which are widely used nowadays.
    View
Here comes a user, who says “why don’t some emails appear in my Outlook?” Generally we think it may be caused since the sync process is not complete, but consider this scenario: The “missing” email has been received but the user just can’t see it, is
this possible? Yes, this is possibly caused by the custom view.
First please logon the webmail, or OWA for Exchange Accounts, to see whether the “missing” emails exist there, if yes, then let’s do the following:
Go to the folder where the emails should be displayed, switch to VIEW tab ->
Current View Group -> Click Reset View button. When it prompts to confirm, click
    Yes.
The emails magically appear! Why? That’s because you have set a custom view in this folder, such as a Filter in View Settings to let Outlook only show these emails that meet the criteria you have set. Once you click
Reset View, the View will reset and the Filter is wiped out. The emails can be displayed again.
One common symptom of this cause, is that you see a number beside the folder which indicates you have something unread, while you can’t find the unread items. Probably you have a custom view in Outlook that only allows the read items to show.
Another way to reset the View is to run Outlook with the command switch “/cleanviews”, which will restore default view and all custom views you created will be lost:
Press Win key + R, in the Run box, type “outlook.exe /cleanviews”, click
    OK or press Enter.
    Sync Filter
“Well, I can see the recent emails of the account in Outlook, but emails older than 3 months don’t show in Outlook, I can see these emails on Web, why?” It’s time to consider the Sync Filter.
Outlook has a feature that allows you to limit the amount of data that is synchronized locally to your .OST. The purpose of this feature is to make Outlook usable on devices that have limited or small amounts of local storage. This feature is called Sync
Filter. You can access the sync filter within your E-mail Server Settings under Account Settings.
We can choose the periods of emails we want to keep offline. Switch to
All to keep all emails to local so that they are not “missing”.
(Not all kinds of accounts can use this feature in all versions of Outlook, such as Exchanges Accounts don’t have Sync Filter in Outlook 2010)
    Send/Receive Groups
I can sync all folders but emails in one folder don’t sync properly, how does this happen? Please check the Send/Receive Settings.
Go to SEND / RECEIVE tab -> Send & Receive Group ->
Define Send/Receive Groups. We can configure the setting for send/receive here:
Highlight All Accounts, click Edit button, in the new dialog window, check if you have select the correct folder options as you need, you may have not selected the folder which emails are not received. Check the box and
click OK to save, it should be working fine then.
    Summary
When we talk about “sync”, we are talking about account types like Exchange, IMAP and Exchange ActiveSync. POP accounts don’t sync, they do a “download” instead, so it’s not talked about (However, some steps are applicable, like
    VIEW).
As mentioned above, this article just discusses the easy things we should look at before the deeper analysis, if you have tried all these suggestions but still have the sync problem, feel free to post the question in our forum:

Is there a work around way??????????
Not really. BIS service is not designed to reconcile to the Outlook on your PC as your former BES service did, or there would be no reason for BES, right?
The (dirty) workaround is to created rules in your Outlook and filters on your BIS account login whereby you BCC yourself all the sent-from-handheld mail which arrives in Outlook and by rule is moved to your sent folder.
Then, on the BIS account login site, you create a filter to not foward any message to your device which are addressed as beig from your own email address.
Likewise, any email sent from Outlook must be copied to yourself to receive on the BlackBerry device, however it won't end up in your sent items.

  • Ibooks syncing issue ipad 2

Every time I link my Macbook Pro to my ipad 2 to sync I have to re check the 'load all books' box.  Is this a new books not syncing issue? Or something else? How do I keep the load all box checked so I can not keep assessing my memory wrongly?

I have the same issues with my iPad2, ibooks crashes immediately.  Very disappointing that apple has not addressed this issue quicker!  What good is iOS updates, if it screws up apps.
