Gmail problem only on iPad.

When I send Gmail email from the iPad Mail.app it refuses to use the Google "Send mail as:" option that I have setup on google.com/mail.
This option works fine on my iPhone which is setup in exactly the same way.
All mail sent from the gmail web app, OS X Mail.app & iPhone Mail.app appears to come from [email protected] (which is correct) However if I send mail from the iPad it ignores my "Send mail as:" option and sends it from [email protected]
Anyone seeing this?

I see that I can do this - but I really just want the default to always be the account that I have identified in Gmail. I don't use my gmail for outbound, but as an aggregation point. Is there no way to do this? Looking at settings on ipad to see if there is a way to set default "sent from" but not seeing it. Don't understand why ipad bypasses the gmail settings...
Hoping someone out there has more updated info
thx

  • Game Center problems only on ipad not iphone

So I never bothered to check game center on my ipad and i dont think i ever launched it. I have it working and running fine on my iphone and also rarely use it. I started playing Clash of Clans now and I want to sync it with game center on my ipad. Problem is I cant get it to load the games. It logs me in and i can see "ME" but if i click on games or friends it says "not Available" Unable to load data due to network connectivity issues or errors. I want it get it working in order to save my Clash of Clans data and or play it on my iphone.
I have tried many ways and methods as i have searched on google to make it work, and nothing works. Reseting settings, hard reset, logging off resetting and restarting and nothing. I even went to apple store and tech couldnt get it to work. Said id have to do a reset as a new ipad. I dont mind, but im worried because i dont know where Clash of clans saves its info and im too much in and bought in game gems to just lose the progress. I just synced my ipad and tempted to do a restore from back up and see if that works, but im scared again of CoC being lost and having to start from scratch.. What can i do? The tech said Game center isnt reading the wifi in the ipad and there is an internal conflict. Now i had my friend log into his gamecenter account in my ipad and voila, his games show up, friends, and progress. Log him out, i log in and it doesnt show crap. I go to my iphone, game center is up and running perfect. Any ideas??

    BBump. Help pls

  • Gmail problems on new iPad

    Hi all
I can't access gmail via the default mail client on the new iPad or my YouTube account.
The passwords are correct, so would appreciate any help you can provide.
    THank you

    1. Logon to any google service via safari.
    2. Follow this link to disable captchas for 10 minutes during mail app verification (https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha)
    3. Make sure you setup the mail correctly as a Gmail.

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad.  Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port.  You may need to change in on the pad.

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

hi, i am having a problem in my ipad 2 , it is not showing main screen just showing a black blank screen in which downloading icon is only shwn which is continously and when i connect to itunes via windows 7 it showing this error (0xE8000065) can any one

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • Some gmail email only arrives on my iPhone and not iPad?

I've found a strange occurrence recently. I have a gmail account that I use to send/receive mail on my iPad, iPhone and desktop Mac. It all stays pretty much in sync, except some email sent to my gmail account only goes to my Mac and iPhone and not to my iPad. For instance, I recently sent an email from my iPad, but the replies only went to my iPhone and Mac. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
I have checked my Mail settings on both the iPad and iPhone and they are the same. Which I knew they would be as I get most mail on both devices normally, it's only once in a while it doesn't reach the iPad.

If it's your iCloud email, go to System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, uncheck Mail, restart your Mac, then go back and check Mail again.  This will remove, then recreate your iCloud email account.  (You won't lose any email by doing this.)

  • Gmail problem on ipad

I had previously set up a gmail account on my iPad mail app and suddenly it stopped working. It continues to work fine through Safari (google.com). I tried deleting and re-adding it but it says my user name and/or password is incorrect, but they are both correct. Help!

It is not a gmail thing, as mine is working fine.  I think you need to reenter the account again.  Pay particular attention to the server name and port setting.  On mine, the default pad settings for g mail work fine.    Make sure you set the imap / pop switch to the right setting.  I think it defaults to pop, but you likely have an imap account.

  • I need help with an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2

I’m having an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2     Model:  MC774C/A;  IOS VERSION: 6.1.3 (10B329).
While I use 4 email accounts on the iPad -- Hotmail, Gmail, iCloud and ns.sympatico.ca ( a division of BellAliant) – the sending difficulty only relates to the ns.sympatico.ca.  The settings for this account are:         pop.bellaliant.net            and      smtp.bellaliant.net
I first noticed the problem about 3 weeks ago while travelling across the country (Canada).  (I do recall about that time there was an update of my IOS and I also for my wife purchased from the Bell store an iPhone which shares my Apple account.)  Prior to that everything worked well for a couple of years.
I noticed earlier this month that the iPad received mail fine but would not send at night using the motels’ WiFi.  During the day, using my 3G account, all worked fine.  I phoned Bell but was told that my experience was normal so I thought no more about it until I returned home and found the same problem at the house.  I called Bell again and worked for 2 hours with 3 Bell technicians who succeeded in getting the iPad to neither send nor receive and gave up advising me to take the iPad into a Bell store to have it looked at.  I did that and the young technician got the iPad sending and receiving by changing the        smtp.bellaliant.net      to         mail.1xbell.ca
However, when I returned home again, I realized that it was working on my 3G and still doesn’t send on my WiFi
I’m looking for any suggestions that might solve this annoying problem?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Gmail problems after iOS 7.1.2 update (blank mails)

Since updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.1.2 this week, I notice that my emails are retrieved as blank light gray mails. No subject, no contents, date always 01-01-01, etc...
I already removed my gmail account from the iPad and installed it again, but without any effect. The first time I retrieve my email after reinstalling works fine, but the second time, etc.. It's the same story...empty mails. The same thing happens when I re enter my password for the gmail account in the settings menu from the IPad. The first time it works ok, but then the story repeats...
When using the Gmail app everything's seems to work fine!
I suppose its a firmware bug?
    regards,
    René

I'm having a related problem. Since shortly after updating my phone to ios 7.1.2, gmail is not working properly. Seems emails are bypassing the actual inbox(es) and going straight to the All Mail folder (which is for archives). I do not have any filters set up in gmail or any forwarding and had not changed any of my settings in gmail. This is happening on phone, laptop and ipad.
I read a forum where someone was having this issue and changed their archive mail settings on the phone to archive only on the phone, not the server. That apparently worked for them, but I tried this and it hasn't seemed to make a difference.
I have about 6 emails feeding into gmail so I NEED them separated. Fishing through All Mail trying to find things I need or am expecting is not ideal. If anyone has suggestions, please feel free to pass along.
    Thanks!

  • Wifi problems with new ipad

I'm trying to learn how to correct wifi problems with new iPad.  It is the wifi only, 64GB model.  I want to be able to use it at work, where we have a great wifi network.  I can usually connect to our network with no problem, but after an hour or so my iPad loses the network.  When I try to reconnect, I see that the network is showing full strength reception, but I get the error message from the iPad that I am "Unable to join" the network.  My iPhone connects to the same network seamlessly, as do all of the other iPhones of my co-workers and the older generation iPads that some of our staff has.
At other locations, I typically have no problems (home, apple store, etc.) but I have had the same situation pop up at a coffee shop where I could see that there was a wifi network available, but I could not join it even though it was the shop's free wifi.
I have tried turning the iPad off, turning off wifi and turning it back on again, and forgetting the wifi network in question.  I can't think of any other methods that are available to an end user to correct the problem.
I have already gone to the Apple store to swap out the unit, and the newer one is having the same symptoms.
Can anyone offer any advice here?  This is quite frustrating.

  • How do I get a Gmail Account on my iPad?

I am a newbie for IPad, I just got a free IPad from IPadTester, But I don't know how to get a gmail account on my ipad.
I opened up Settings on my iPad, then went to Mail...Contacts, then brought up Add Account which showed iCloud, GMail etc. I entered my name and a password thinking that I was creating a new account. but i kept getting a reply stating that my user name and/or password was incorrect. So I guess that it meant that I should already have a Gmail address. Can anyone tell me how I go about getting a Gmail address to use on my iPad. Thanks Pino
    <Link Edited By Host>

Yes, you're correct this is only for existing users so if you don't have a Gmail account then do as shldr2thewheel suggested.
You'll then be able to link up to your Gmail account in your iPad once done.
    Regards,
    Steve

  • I use tripit on both my iphone and ipad.  However, while tripit will sync with the gmail calendar on my iphone, it will not sync with the gmail calendar on my ipad, even though the setting are all in place, correctly for both.

I use the "Tripit" travel app on both my iPhone and iPad2.  While I have no problem getting my Tripit info synced to the Gmail Calendar on my iPhone, I am unable to get Tripit to sync to the Gmail calendar on my iPad, even though the setup information (email address, settings, etc.) are exactly the same.  I know that Tripit is installed correctly on the iPad, as I am able to go to that app directly and correctly see all of my info.  However, even though I've set up the secondary "Tripit" calendar feed (to Gamil) on the iPad, it's not synchronizing and showing up.  Is anyone else having this problem?

All I had to do was complain.  I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store.  I have no idea why.
