Gmail push taking hours to come through

I have it set up through Microsoft Exchange for all my contacts etc to be synced.  But lately email is taking "hours" to push through to my iPhone 4.
Is anyone having simliar problems?

Try a battery pull and a PRL update. Remove the battery from your device, wait about 30 seconds, place your battery back into your device and power on. Once your device is powered on, dial *228 option 2 to update your device.

I'm on my iPad, so I don't know if this is the page with an actual download. I don't see a button, but assume that is because I  am on an iPad. It is in the DL section of Apple downloads.

  • Can't add Gmail push

Just got a new 3GS as a replacement for a faulty handset. I "restored" it in iTunes last night and everything looked fine.
Today however, I didn't receive any emails at all on the device even though they were coming through fine on Gmail.
I deleted the account and decided to re-configure it but that just won't work.
I follow the instructions to set up a new MS Exchange account but on the final screen after adding the server (m.google.com) it hangs with the message "Verifying Exchange account information" and eventually after a couple of minutes the mail set up program stops without adding my mail account.
Any ideas what's going on? Is anyone else having problems with Gmail push?

If you create a Gmail account with the preset configuration you won't be able to "push" and this is a fact. What you should do is create an exchange account, irrespective of your present configuration (i.e. pop3 or imapi), the instructions are here:http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740. If you can't make it, just ring back I'll be more than glad to give you a (virtual) hand

  • Iphone: while restoring, will my txt messages still come through once restore process is finished??

I had to just restore my iPhone and just wondering if during the Restore Process(where only apple logo was on screen) if someone text messaged me, would it still of come through, after the Restore Process was finished? i just want to make sure i havent missed any messages. any help greatly appreciated, thanks

During the restore process the phone is in the dormant state. Any message(s) received within this time frame will remain in pending/waiting to be delivered state. You will receive it/them once your phone connects back to the network. Take a note that it's a time dependent feature and the network will keep trying to push it/them to your phone till a certain period of time or number of attempts. I do not know how long or how many attempts. It could range between 24-36 hours.

  • Does Gmail push to Mail?

Gmail messages seem to come through instantly in Mail on my Macbook air, yet everything I've read seems to suggest that Mail doesn't support 'push' email from gmail.  I want to cut down my numerous email accounts, but I need a push supported address on my mac.  Can anyone confirm if Gmail or any other client other than iCloud is push supported by mac mail?  Thanks.

If you have Push access for recieved messages enabled with your Gmail account, this means you are accessing the account as an Exchange account since I don't believe Push access is available for recieved messages when accessing the account as an IMAP account.
With an account that supports Push access for received messages and with Push access enabled for the account, when a new message is received at the incoming mail server, the message is "pushed" to your iPhone automatically without having to automatically or manually check the account for new messages. An attachment will be included with the download depending on your internet connection at the time and the size of the attached file or files. If an attachment is available when opening the message without having to select the attachment to download the attachment separately, the attachment was downloaded with the message.

  • Problem with freezing and hour glass comes on as if updating every 10 minutes or so and lasts for 52 seconds or more.

When I am on a site, any site, or writing an email every ten minutes or so, the hour glass comes on and I cannot do anything but wait. I think it is updating something. How can I stop this?

Updating to Firefox 8.0 might do it, unless there is damage to the places.sqlite indexes, anyway this is the fix, and I actually option (same as all options).

:<br>Install add-on, run at least the option mentioned in the article, I ran them all. When finished you can uninstall the extension, all without taking taking Firefox down, The extension is one of the new JetPack extensions.
Thought I was having that problem right now, but it's my anti-virus scan, usually ties things up pretty much.

  • HT4623 So my upgarde to iOS 6.1.2 in the iPhone is taking hours by Wifi. I was told I can patch the phone to my computer, then upgrade by way of iTunes - How do I do this? The site seems particulalry unhelpful! Thanks to all who respond

  • Why materialized view taking hours and yet not created

    hi,
i am trying to create the following MV
    create materialized view MV1
    force on demand
start with date 1 next date2
    AS
select query 1--> complex query that return approcimately 2 millions rows
    union all
select query2 --> complex query that returns 300K rowsit has been taking hours i.e > 4 hrs and still unable to create the MV
w/o the create materialized view statement i am able to return the results from the union of the 2 queries
what might be the possibility ?
    tks & rdgs

Issue could be due to the complexity of your query..Even i faced the same issue when i worked on materialized views. It was taking too long to create materialized view and then we splitted the query and created two materialized views.
Finally created a View for those MV's.You can also try the same
    Materialized View Log
When you create a materialized view using the FAST option you will need to create a view log on the base tables.A fast refresh uses materialized view logs to update only the rows that have changed since the last refresh.
When DML changes are made to the master table's data, Oracle stores rows describing those changes in the materialized view log and then uses the materialized view log to refresh materialized views based on the base table. This process is called an incremental or fast refresh.Without a materialized view log, Oracle must reexecute the materialized view query to refresh the materialized view. This process is called a complete refresh.Usually, a fast refresh takes less time than a complete refresh.
You can go through the below link

  • Drive is taking hours to install software

    Hello,
I just purchased an iMac 27 inch i7 and when I'm trying to install pro logic it is taking hours to install. I'm on the 3rd disc and it's been going on 4 hours. Do I have a defective DVD drive or is there some kind of fix available? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a thread here about the exact thing!! Although I thought it was due to the SSD in here or the HDD. I have both. Its neither, its the superdrive!! And its not specific to ANY app. I installed 6 or 8 games anywhere from 2 to 20 GB each. All take a ridiculous amount of time to install. I have spent HOURS installing just FCP application's DVD NOT THE CONTENT. Its terrible.
I know its the superdrive, or something related to the superdrive, because I just went to best buy and purchased a portable, LG brand, 8 X DVD drive and attached it. Its TEARING through the audio content dvd that took almost 3 hours to install last night. It's 90% through and its only been 12 minutes. Your problem is exactly like mine and I originally thought it was my SSD but the content isn't even going on my SSD. Ots going on my HDD.
What really ***** is that I JUST received this after having it built. Now I have to drag this heavy monster down to the Apple store for repair and do without...again.

  • HT1430 why wont my emails come through and the message i get is  cannot get mail user name or passord is incorrect when it isn't

Why won't my emails come through the message I get is cannot get mail username or password incorrect yet they are right

    Hi, 1crispycracker.
Thank you for the question.  The easiest way to troubleshoot this issue would be to delete the account and add it back to the iOS device.  Below, I have included two e-mail troubleshooting articles.  The first article covers basic email troubleshooting.  The second article will assist you if the email account you are experiencing issues with is a Gmail account.

  • Gmail push via Exchange is performing dreadfully iOS 8 iPhone 6 Plus

Ever since I upgraded from a 4S to an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8 (fully updated), the performance for Gmail push via Exchange has been absolutely atrocious. Just to be clear: I am a PAID Google Apps user and therefore the Exchange based push SHOULD work as it always did. I am aware that they discontinued support for non-paid users.
It used to perform flawlessly. Someone would send me an email and PING! It would appear on my iPhone within seconds. Now I'm logging into Gmail on my desktop and seeing emails from hours ago that haven't arrived on my phone yet. It's only when I open the mail app that they download. So basically, push is only working some of the time. Has anyone else experienced this? I will ask on the Google forums as well but right now I don't know whether this is a Gmail thing or an iOS thing. Whatever it is, it's extremely annoying and causing me no end of trouble in my business.

    Hi JSharke,
Thanks for clarifying that you are using your own domain.  I have a domain, but don't use it for Gmail email at this time.  In my case where I wanted to have my Gmail pushed to my iPhone 6 Apple email app, Google recommended an option which was to download and install the Gmail mail app and use it to be notified any time I received a Gmail.  I could still use my Apple email app by manually retrieving the Gmail email by pulling down on the email screen to force a refresh.  That approach works.  I am also using the Apple email app to retrieve my company Exchange Server email (which still supports Push), so both Gmail and my company email will be in the same folder and I can easily access all of my contacts which are synced to Exchange Server for either work or Gmail email that I send.
Unfortunately, none of this info helps your situation.  At least you can call Google Help if you have a paid account.   I found them very helpful.

  • While iPhone 5 is locked my texts and calls only come through intermittently

So, this has been happening to me for almost a year now, I have been through everything to try and fix it, I am about to upgrade to the soon to be announced iPhone 6 but I would like an answer on it at least.
While my iPhone is locked I do not receive calls or texts, now this doesn't happen 100% of the time but probably about 80% of the time. I have had my phone replaced, my sim card replaced, restored my iPhone and been through countless hours with my network provider to try and resolve this, still to this day it happens.
Anyone have the same issue? And please don't say it it DND (Do Not Disturb) because it is not, I have literally tried everything I can think of, I am also a technical analyst by trade so I have not been naive about trying to sort this out.
To add, I live in London and it happens everywhere, it is not only happening in a certain area.
    Please someone help.
iPhone 5 64GB, IOS 7.1.2, Three Mobile Network.

I'm talking about the notifications in the lock screen, yes. However, I have the 'View in Lock Screen' option on for all email accounts and it has always been this way, it's just that in the past few days this hasn't been functioning as intended. Now emails only come through once the phone is unlocked, which is annoying as I now have to manually check my mail, meaning that I may miss important emails.
With the calls, it's happened 100% of the time, again over the past few days, all in the same location which I have never had issues with.
Because both of these issues have arrised recently, I feel like it might be an issue with the hardware?

  • Emails and calls only come through when my iPhone is unlocked?

Emails suddenly only seem to be coming through once I have entered my lock screen password and unlocked the phone, whereas previously they were being pushed to the lock screen as normal. I am connected to Wi-Fi constantly with a strong connection (all 3 bars).
Also, when someone tried to call me recently, the call kept going straight to my voicemail, despite the fact that I had full/almost full signal (4 or 5 bars).
I have an iPhone 4 running the latest version of iOS and have not changed any settings recently that would affect the behavior of either of these features. The device is in full working order.
    Anyone know what's going on?
    Thanks.

    googlemail.com could be the problem...
    Try using your gmail.com login:
Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Select your mail account -> Account Info
under username change it from [email protected] to [email protected] and see if you have better luck.
you can leave your email address set to the @googlemail domain if you like.
