Gmail rich text

A number of people have inquired about Safari not supporting rich text when using Gmail, I have the same question, none of the other inquires have answers. Why is Mac mute on this issue?

Gmail is the only one I know of. I had found an old mention of this Rich Text issue in an old thread that said hotmail and blog sites have this problem:
Barry Lee Reynolds, "Hotmail/Blogger Rich Text Formatting with Safari / Mac" #1, 06:59am Sep 1, 2005 CDT
(I guess it's not that old)
But Gmail is the only one I've encountered this on. Firefox for Mac and PCs show the rich text options, but not my Safari.

Hi, Does anyone no how to use the rich-text editor for colours and stuff on gmail using safari???

dslate, do you have any addons installed? If you do please try disabling them within about:addons.
If you then can see your icons again, try enabling each one until you see the problem again.
My guess is that it may be that you have a corrupt list for adblock plus. If adblock plus is causing your issue, please try unsubscribing and then resubscripting within addblock plus.
Hopefully that would resolve your issue.

  • I just loaded the most recent FFox8, and gmail messages no longer load. All I get is an ad, and a blank. If I try to reply, a message says "cannot load rich text editor.

gmail loads, but when I click on an email, the body is blank, except for a two-line text ad. I can see the source code via the menu selection.
I tried to "reply" and see if I could read the attached email, but I got a message that said "cannot load the rich text editor"
How can i get back the previous version of firefox?

''GMail entire message content missing (blank) after header title''
In Firefox, if you have "Adblock Plus" extension.
    # "Ctrl+Shift+F" Preferences (or right click on ADP symbol, and choose preferences)
    # 'Filters' menu > "'''Update all subscriptions'''"

  • Gmail: can't see: rich text editor, attachment icon, themes (just colors) - ever since upgrading to 3.5, still in 3.6

With Gmail, I can't see the following
    * Rich Text Editor
    * The paper clip icon for attachments
    * Background themes (just plain colors)
have had this problem since 3.5. Just got 3.6, no difference. Gmail appears fine in IE, also on Firefox on other machines. I'm using a Vista Home Premium machine.

  • Bug in Mail: Plain-Text | Rich-Text-Mails

    Hi,
just found a bug in Mail (Mac OS X 10.6.2):
I am using a faxservice-provider, which sends my PDF-files to the transmitted fax-number.
This stopped working a few weeks ago, the recipients of my faxe just get blank pages.
I talked to the provider and they told me, that I was sending "Multi-Part-HTML"-mails, so their fax-software just sends the first part of the mail (some blank lines) and not the attached PDF-file.
So I checked a few thing and found the following bug:
Mail is set up to send mails only as "plain-text"-mails.
But if i send an email via the print-dialog ("send PDF per Mail") Mail creates a Rich-Text-mail. This also happens when using the "send PDF via Mail button" in Adobe Reader.
The created Mail is NOT a plain-text-mail!
Saving a PDF-file to the desktop and dragging the file to the Mail-Icon in the dock creates a "Plain-Text-File".
So you need to check the format of the Mail in the "Format-Menu". If you change the format at this place to "Plain-Text" everything is working fine.
Something in this Automator-workflow-script is working wrong. This workflow just has the order to create a new Mail with the PDF as attachment, so I can't change anything their. But the error must be founded in this script/workflow.
    Sven

And it's only a Gmail issue, not in, for example, Google Docs.

  • Rich text editor (apex 4.0)

using blue gray theme and a page with a rich text editor. Expanding the rich text options displays the text body p below the text area that persists even if you close the rich text options. Anybody know how to get rid of that behavior?

I think your mixing 2 technologies.
At 1 side you have xml in combination with xsl (style sheets used in BI Publisher and FOP) to generate your pdf. And at the other side you have HTML...
XML and HTML are 2 entirely different technologies which you can not mix this simple. I investigated the same problem as you had, and in the end I ended up using jasperreports instead of FOP.
Maybe BI Publisher has some html regions which you could insert into your word document but I doubt it cause more people have asked the same question on this board...
So my advice: use jasperreports (also it is free for commercial usage)
    Success

  • Converted single line text to multiple and want to have rich text editing in layout

We had a text field in a site that was initially set as single line of text. We needed it to be bigger and also allow formatting. So I added the field into the page layout.
    Changing
    <SharePointWebControls:TextField id="habitat" FieldName="Habitat" runat="server"/>
    to
    <SharePointWebControls:NoteField id="habitat" FieldName="Habitat" runat="server"/>
But it doesn't show any rich text editing options and displays the full html tags in the field.
If I open the page in the edit properties screen instead, then the field displays as I want it with the rich text editing options available in the ribbon, and text showing as bolded instead of like this:
    <div>This is <strong>the </strong>habitat field.</div>
This is a site using the 2010 Publishing template running in compatibility mode on a 2013 server.
How can I get my page layout to behave the same way as the edit properties screen does?

    Hi,
Here are two solutions for your reference:
    1. We can use the InputFormTextBox control to achieve it.
    <SharePoint:InputFormTextBox ID="habitat" RichText="true" RichTextMode="FullHtml" runat="server" TextMode="MultiLine" Rows="20"></SharePoint:InputFormTextBox>

    http://blog.mastykarz.nl/rich-text-editor-control-sharepoint-2010/
    2. We can use the RichHtmlField control to achieve it.
    <PublishingWebControls:RichHtmlField id="habitat" FieldName="Habitat" runat="server"/>

  • Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

    Hello,
We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
can you please help me out to get this option.
    Thanks in advance.
    REgards,
    Jayashri

    Hi,
From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

  • Rich Text Box Issue - Expand to show all Text

    Hi everyone
I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with the rich text box when viewing a line item (not when editing the item, but viewing the item)
I want my rich text box to expand with the text, which I have changed in the options on InfoPath with the "Expand to show all text" scrolling option. However, in IE, the table row will expand, but the actual rich text box will not and I'll have
a scroll bar there and you cant see all of the text at one time. If I look in Chrome, then it works the way I want and I can see all of the lines of text that were entered into the rich text box.
The only solution for IE to work correctly is to change the Display settings to "Enable enhanced rich text content...". But the big issue with that is now you can no longer highlight the text (the highlight disappears right after highlighting it),
and the users will need to copy text from the text box, so it renders the "enhanced" rich text box useless for us
It's kind of a lose-lose situation that I'd love to find the solution for

I guess a better solution would be how can you highlight text from an enhanced rich text box, because changing these to "rich text box" gets rid of font colors in the pre-existing data.
The original problem was that they couldn't highlight text unless they went into edit mode

  • InfoPath 2013 - Rich Text box - Expand to show all text option not working

I have create an InfoPath form and created a view which will be used for printing. I have a rich text box in this print view and the scroll option for this rich text box is set to "Expand to show all text". However, it is not working and it doesn't
expand the size of the text box based on the content length.
same thing used to work in InfoPath 2010.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Neelesh

    Hi Wendy,
Here are the steps I have used:
    1. On default view added a rich text box.
    2. Created another view called Print and mapped it to the same Field which I added to default view
    3. Set the Wrap text and Expand to show all text on both the Rich Text Box Properties - in default view and in Print
view. Also set the height of the rich text box to auto.
    4. Set the print views as the print view for default view
    5. Deployed the form to SharePoint Form Library
    6. Opened the form in browser
    7. Entered the content in the rich text box in default view. It expands well if I have much content
    8. Clicked on Print preview and that opens up the print preview and it shows the rich text box only one line in height and with scroll bar
I missed to mention that it is a web browser enabled form and I am using InfoPath 2013 and SP 2013.
It does work fine in InfoPath client.
    Thanks.

  • Rich Text Editor Options

I am working on a project that needs a Rich-Text Editor with
ability to insert tables, images, and more complex editing features
such as what FCKEditor provides but ideally that was built with
Flex in mind. Is there such an editor available? I have seen a few
options but nothing that really matched the functionality of
    FCKEditor for example.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I was looking for flex version of the FCK Editor,
unfortantly, I could not find a fully complete solution, but I

  • RIch text forum issue since reinstall of OS

Ever since I reinstalled my system software (10.4.11), I have been unable to utilize rich text editor options available for forum posting. (not this forum - about.com is one of them). In Safari, the editor toolbar is non-existent when posting/editing a post, and my individual paragraphs display as one huge paragraphs rather than individual ones. I'm not having this problem in Firefox. In Firefox, the rich text editor appears (bold, italic, etc. buttons), as do options for "design" and "HTML"—all missing in Safari.
Previous to the reinstall, I was not having this issue in Safari. Paragraphs were created by hitting "return", not inserting html code.
I'm wondering if there is a setting, or plugin, that was present in my old system that did not get installed, which is contributing to why Safari has omitted these options as opposed to Firefox.
    Thanks!

No I haven't tried another mouse, but the malfunctions started as soon as OSX 10.6.4 was installed, so I deduced that it was a software rather than a hardware issue. I will however try another mouse.

  • Rich text output?? Using FormattedTextEdit Element in NW 7.02

So SAP now gives us a cool element that allows users to input text using a limited number of formatting options (bold, italics, header size 1/2/3, Indent, bullet).
We currently use interactive forms to print out several different project forms. However, mgmt really wants to display this rich text on the PDF.
Searching high and low, there apparently is no good way to display formatted text in adobe interactive forms.
We thought about just building the output form as a WDA application - however, this presents other problems such as page breaks.
Does anyone out there know of a way to get formatted text out of SAP onto a PDF/other form output?

    Thomas,
Thanks for the reply. We've had success in the past (NW 7.00) with passing those SAPScript text objects to Adobe for formatting.
Is this only available for interfaces define as data dictionary? I don't see the option to create a TEXT node in WDA when my interface is defined as XML-based.
We have become heavily invested in AIF, and it's hard to imagine that something as simple as RTF can't be easily rendered somehow outside SAP. We were hoping that with 7.02, an easier method would be available.

  • Changing text size in form field (rich text formatting enabled)

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I've created an interactive PDF with form fields with "Rich Text Formatting" enabled.
My client has filled in the fields and would like to make the text bigger. When right-click, there are only options to change the text style (bold, italics etc) but nothing to change the text size. I'm not keen on disabling and then re-enabling the "Rich Text Formatting" options as the text have been formatted (bold, italics, superscript, subscript etc) and approved, and this will remove all the existing formatting.
    Can anyone help?
    Acrobat 9.4.6
    Mac 10.6.8
    Cheers,
    Tricia

    Thanks so much!! Really appreciated!
Strangely enough, I found the Form Field Text Properties dialogue box by randomly choosing "Hyperlink" in the right-click options. Who would have thought!
