GMail Server issue

Last night MY PB started promting me for my gmail password i had to enter it twice before it seemed to take. 15 mins later the pop-up occurred asking me to re-enter my password. It did not accept it after several attempts. I did test emails outside of the PB and accessed my gmail on other hardware with no issue. I did test messages to and from and received them with no problems but not on the PB.
I turn off the PB and restarted it with the same failing results. I turned it off again until this morning. The issue still persists. I am not sure what the issue is but I do know that my PB is now constantly being interupted by the pop-up asking for my gmail password.
Does anyone have any ideas short of deleting the account and reinstalling it?

Can you try this?
Delete your Gmail account from the PlayBook.
Do a restart on the Playbook (touch the battery icon > restart)
Now, re-add your Gmail account to it.

  • Apple mail won't connect to Gmail server!

    I am not sure exactly what has happened.  I have a year old MPB that is the glitchiest apple product I've had.  Mail slowly stopped connecting to the Gmail server and says my passwords are incorrect.  I have checked, rechecked, and even changed my passwords to ensure that the PW is not incorrect.  I have three gmail accounts and some of them worked up until today.  I cannot tell if this is a mac software issue or a gmail server issue.  I've been having some odd issues with my MBP so I would count that out as the culprit.  I double checked the files in Library/Preferences against an older backed up version and they seem to be intact.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 

    Mine stopped wotking on the 9th, under the mail app on the left hand side, if you have triangles with ! marks in them, perform a left click and start "Mail Connection Doctor" This may help pinpoing the issue.
    Mine is failing at trying to connect on port 143.
    This worked for me, go the accounts settings window and in each gmail account enter the following info
    Advanced Tab
    IMAP Path Prefix enter [Gmail]
    If you then tick "Use SSL" this should make the port 993
    Authentication shold be set to "password"
    Then save these settings, finally email is received, hope this helps.

  • Mail and Gmail - server connection issues

    My wife uses her Mac Mail to manager her Gmail account. She frequently gets errors where Mail cannot connect to the Gmail server. Sent mail sits in her outbox for hours and every time Mac Mail tries to send it she gets the 'cannot connect to Gmail server' error. After a time it connects and goes.
    I have tried setting it up as IMAP and POP. No good.
    Any ideas?

    I've noticed the same problem. I'm moving to an area where my isp is not (no earthlink hi-speed in Marietta, GA :P) and thought it wise to switch my primary email to a free account. I'm debating if gmail is worth this hassle.
    However, Google's support suggests clearing the CAPTCHA on the account, which is the challenge-response test used to determine if the user is human (it's usually a squiggly string of text or numbers you have to enter). This is odd, but I suppose makes sense if it's part of every gmail account. You can find how to do this in their help section.

  • Can't see emails in my inbox OR on gmail server

    I'm having a real issue with SEEING my 'sent' emails from mac mail TO anywhere, either in mac mail or on gmail server. i have disabled POP (these are IMAP accounts), checked for filters and behaviors. i don't know what to do. the mac account gives me the pretty 'swoosh' sound that the mail was sent, but nothing in inboxes.

    After I put my computer into sleep, then wake it up, Mail stops syncing or retrieving new mail from Gmail server. Am I the only one who's having this problem? I tried deleting the account and logging in again, but it didn't change anything.

    FWIW, this problem happens for me in Mavericks (10.9.5) too. It seemed like there was a point release or two where the problem seemed fixed, but it's definitely back in 10.9.5. I had hoped that Yosemite would address the issue. (I'm waiting a while until upgrading my main Mac.) The easiest solution that works for me is to quit Mail and open it again.
    Out of curiosity, do you switch between Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks often while Mail is open? One of my unfounded speculations is that the frequent network switching I do "breaks" Mail's IMAP updates with Gmail. It'd be great if someone with more time than me logged the IMAP transactions between Mail and Gmail to see if this issue is a Mail or Gmail issue because iCloud IMAP (Oracle) seems to update fine…

    The Connection Status at the top of the Mail Connection Doctor window shows a red dot () and "Mail was unable to connect to the Internet."

  • Connection to gmail server rejected

    I am linked to the Internet through a hospitals WLAN. Safari works perfectly but the connection to the gmail server is been rejected continously.

    There may be some administrative block at the hospital's wi-fi network.
    Of that, we'd have no way of knowing for sure; it would be an answer
    yet without being able to ask someone if there is a security issue or
    special password, or limited access from their wi-fi service, who knows.
    Had you tried to ping any other web server from your network utility?
    Apparently if the computer accesses internet elsewhere, the problem
    is with the hospital. Someone there may be able to answer to that side.
    If you are also set up to use Mail as your client software, it may need to
    have the settings checked to be sure they are correct for in/out going.
    Had you tried a second browser to see if an issue was related to Safari?
    In any event...

    Several posts have been discussing the recent changes in the Gmail security parameters and the issues it is causing with their multi-function devices. We are hoping this information will get you scanning once again with an alternate method while the email issue is being researched.
    This focuses on the WorkCentre7120 7125 product family in relation to the scan to email feature with Gmail in which the Xerox device produces different error and fault codes relating to communication.
    Recent changes in Gmail security parameters have changed the authentication requirement which is causing the Multi-Function Printer to have authentication failures. Gmail has two open Authentication methods (OAuth and OAuth2).
    To isolate the cause of your errors and confirm if the issue is the Gmail server authentication, please use this test which will take you through each of the steps. If the telnet test fails as outlined, then the options are to install scanning to a network folder or to a mailbox (folder).
    These instructions are intended for an advanced user.
    Perform a Telnet Test to Confirm the Cause of the Issue and Review Alternate Scanning Methods
    The Gmail Scanning Issue document also includes step by step (all with screen shots) on other forms of scanning the device supports (essentially alternative methods).
    The issue is now in Engineering and a possible resolution is being developed but supplied in the linked document above are alternate methods of scanning for customer use.
    NOTE – This does not address or outline the use of any other ”free” email providers.

    Mitchell the user can use Restricted Gmail SMTP server : aspmx.l.google.com :25 with out authentication and with out SSL and TLS ssl encryption but the can scan to email can only be sent to Gmail or Google Apps users . Regards

  • How to delete mail from mac but NOT from gmail server?

    Hi I have around 6GB of space used up by the mail app. I never really use it anymore though, favouring the gmail website. I can't work out how to clear out the mail app and free up that space, without also deleting the emails from the gmail server. Can anybody help?

    Hello Jhughes1986,
    If you are not using the mail account in the Mail app, then remove it from Mail. When in Mail, go to the drop down menu Mail > Preferences, select the Account tab, select your Gmail account and then hit the Minus ( - ) button towards the bottom to remove the account.

    I have cheked jvm version on both system the only difference is :
    Solaris points to jdk 1.5.0_09
    Windows point to jdk1.5.0_05
    Even i tried to run blank jsp also but again i got the same error.
    Can any help me to sort out the problem or give me any idea so i can do something by my own.

    After the i-cloud server issue yesterday, November 26, 2012, my i-cloud mail account on my Macbook Pro stopped receiving mail.  I changed some mail account settings to fix the issue, and was able to start receiving e-mails.  However, all of my historical e-mails are gone.  How do I retrieve all of my old e-mails from the server?

    What settings did you change, what were the changes, have you visited www.icloud.com to see what mail is actually there? and do you have a backup?

  • HP Connected server issues

    My printer has been working well *. since I purchased it earlier this year. until about a week ago when I upgraded to the next level Instant Ink plan. Since then when I try to print the display on the printer shows a rotating circle with the word Printing. This remains for around 2 minutes, without printing anything, and then I get a message on the display that tells me that "The printer cannot connect to HP Connected". At the same time I get a pop up on my PC that "warns me" that the printer cannot connect to HP Connected and that this may cause my printer to stop printing. The terrible message concludes with the meaningless "OK" statement, having urged me to follow the printer's on screen display to make the connection.  When I try to follow the instructions on the printer it merely confirms that the printer is connected. I usually cancel out of the setup and then, as if by magic, whatever I tried to print suddenly starts printing.  So, my questions are?
    1) Is this a common or at least know problem?
    2) Is it caused by my having changed Instant Ink plans and if so what has HP done to cause this?
    3) I have not knowingly changed anything on my system other than the HP Instank Ink plan so why does the printer no longer connect to the HP Connected server to update that system with details of my print usage?
    4) Is there a fix/workaround that will prevent me from having to manually coax my printer to work again?
    I have already used the HP Updates function and have reset/restarted both the wireless router and my PC.
    * I do occasionally get messages saying that the scan function isn't available because it's lost connectivity but this seems to rectify itself without having to do anything else.

    I would not use iTunes Match as a backup. There are too many bugs and I don't think that's what they intended it to be anyway. The main advantage of using it is to make your music available on OTHER devices, not to replace the music on your original computer.

    Hi,
    You may go to Event Viewer to find the detailed information why Outlook crashed. If you are using some 3rd-party add-ins, the add-in itself may be the culprit.
    As for the Gmail Sync issue, please disable the firewall and anti-virus program, then go to View tab -> View Settings, check if you have any Filter settings that may prevent the emails from showing up.
