Gmail totally sync with mail.

is it possible to have mail set up such that it replicates your Gmail Account. What I mean here is I would like my Gmail in Mail to include all my labels(which I currently have in Gmail). I guess what I am asking is it possible to have Mail totally sync(mail, labels, etc) with the GMAIL account on the web?
Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

not unless somebody made a Mail plugin specifically for this purpose and I've never heard of such.

  • Trouble with Gmail Syncing with Mail

    Hello,
I am getting up to speed with my first Mac and loving it so far.  I hope this is in the right place as I could not find a community for Mail.
I have my Mail account synced with my Gmail account and everything works fine on the Mac.   However, I am noticing that during the day, when I respond to e-mails from my PC at work using Gmail, I am not seeing those responses back on my Mac when I open Mail.  Come to think of it, I also have a draft email on my Mac that is not appearing in Gmail drafts folder.  Can someone enlighten me?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Exchange 2007 mail account sync with Mail 4.0 does not happen

I am setting up my work exchange 2007 mail account in Mail 4.4. The total size of mail box is ~ 200MB. Folders smaller than 10MB have synced properly and I can see the mails in these folders inside Mail.
However, none of the mails inside folders >10MB are visible in Mail. Activity window in Mail does not indicate that a sync is going on. But I can see that Mail has correctly calculated the folder sizes on server and no. of messages on server (for every folder) in Account Info.
I have waited close to 5hrs hoping that it is probably a slow first time sync, but I am not closer to seeing the mails in Mail.
Any leads to solving this would help.
    Thanks

I was having this problem as well with a different host's email account. I was able to get IMAP as an option by holding down the Option key. But then was unable to connect to the server to send/receive mail. Turning off SSL in two places worked:
    - Uncheck SSL from the SMTP server settings (click on the SMTP server name & select "Edit SMTP Server List to get to this setting); and
    - From the Advanced Options Tab. Also, in Advanced Options, you may need to change the port to 143 (it may be defaulted to 993 since SSL is the default.)

  • Gmail not syncing with .Mac

    Hi,
I am having an issue with Gmail and Mail that I can't find a solution to anywhere and I am hoping that someone here can provide some insight.
I use Mail.app on a G5 and an iBook and use .Mac to keep mail, calendar and addresses in-sync b/w the two. I have 4 email accounts set up in Mail.app: DotMac, Gmail, Qwest.net and another POP account. All of them work sync fine b/w the two machines except for Gmail. I can receive Gmail on either machine without any problem. The trouble begins when I receive Gmail on one machine, sync with .Mac, and then go to the other machine and sync with .Mac there. The Gmail email that I received on the first machine and already read doesn't show up on the new machine. However, the other email addresses all do this just fine. Does it have something to do with the way Gmail's POP service works? I have Gmail set to archive emails. Does that matter?
I would greatly appreciate any help. This has been killing me!
    Thnx!
    Brian
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Brian.
First of all, .Mac doesn’t synchronize locally stored mail between computers. Only mail stored on the server can be synchronized, and you don’t need .Mac for that; any IMAP account would do. If you can see mail received on your POP accounts on both computers, it’s because they’re both downloading it from the server, not because of any .Mac synchronization.
Moreover, Gmail POP access doesn’t work as a normal POP mail server would. Here are some of its idiosyncrasies:
    1. Messages downloaded by any conventional POP mail client are marked as downloaded at the server (but not as read on the web), and no longer available to either the same or any other POP mail client.
    2. To make already downloaded Gmail messages available for POP access again, you must log into your Gmail account with a web browser and re-enable POP downloading for all your messages, which will cause everything (and I mean everything) still there to be downloaded again.
    3. Any Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings have absolutely no effect on the messages stored on Gmail’s server. The reason is that, after being downloaded, those messages are no longer available to any mail client, not even to the same client that has just downloaded them, not even for deleting them or checking whether they are still there.
    4. Messages created and sent using the web interface will be downloaded by your POP mail client as if they were incoming messages. You can set up a rule in Mail to automatically route those messages to the appropriate Sent mailbox (or to any other mailbox for that matter) if that's what you want. Although this may seem weird, it's good because it allows archiving all messages locally in Mail, regardless of how they were sent -- as long as you don't access the same Gmail account with more than one POP mail client, that is.
    5. Messages created and sent using a POP mail client such as Mail are also treated as if they were incoming messages for POP purposes, just as in 4. What prevents them from being downloaded is that Gmail marks them as already downloaded immediately. They would, however, be downloaded if Gmail settings were changed as described in 2 above.
    6. As a particular case of 5, messages sent to yourself will appear in your Inbox on the web, but cannot be downloaded by either the same or any other POP mail client.

  • Syncing with mail client

    hello
i have a xserver, where i run my mail accounts.
yesterday i bought Microsoft Outlook for Windows for 1 of my mail account users. but every time i try to setup the mail account on it, it reports an error. it reports that it doesn't understand the autharacien method the server is using. i thgought that was odd because i have set the motheds to be: kerberos, cram-md5, apop (its IMAP i´m trying to setup. and its the same settings for smtp. and my server works great in other mail clients. then i tried to also activate the method : login. in both imap and smtp. and then outlook would sync with imap. but my smtp (which had the exact same security settings would not sync with the server. now i have turned the security level up again. can this really be right, that outlook doesn't support kerberos and cram-md5????? also there was no spot like in mail you could  choose method, only if it was SSL or not.

The Microsoft Office Outlook client is intended for use with Exchange Server, and (in my experience) doesn't work all that well with other mail servers.
Use the Windows Mail client or (as Windows Mail was previously known) the Outlook Express client.
If you must use the Microsoft Outlook client, I'd suggest looking for help in the Microsoft product support forums, and specifically around a connection to a generic Unix server with the Postfix and Dovecot mail services; there's nothing particularly special about the Mac OS X Server mail services here, as this is centrally about the configuration of the Office client with a mail server other than Microsoft Exchange Server.

  • Error syncing with mail

    How do I fix?
    What is a "record identifier"?

Chill out, the mail sync only syncs the account settings from your mail program to the ipod not the mail messages themselves, so if its worked once already you should be able to just turn that option off, because you've already transferred the settings over. Or you can go in to settings>mail and delete all accounts that are listed, and then try resyncing the settings again. Once again all that setting does is transfer the account settings over, something you can do manually from the ipod, has nothing to do with recieving or sending mail on the ipod after that.

  • IDEA: Junk Mail Button on WebMail Sync with Mail.app

Feature Request to Apple / .Mac
    JUNK MAIL BUTTON ON WEBMAIL
Recently I have had to log into the .Mac website to read my email via the WebMail page. I usually read my email on my Powerbook with the Apple Mail app. I was astonished to see how much spam I was receiving! Mail.app was doing a fantastic job filtering out the junk mail (Kudos to the Mail developers). But that only happens on the client locally, not on the server. WebMail is almost unusable for me!
Wouldn't it be awesome if there were a "Junk" button on the web interface that saved the Junk filter on the server like it does on Mail.app??? I think gmail and others do this. But Apple has a huge edge here. Perhaps using iSync, the Mail.app could syncronize the Junk rules and my personal filters with the WebMail server. I would gladly PAID EXTRA for this feature!!! As far as I can tell, no other application/service does this (syncronized filters). Here's the kicker: on one of these discussion boards we could post filters for one click sharing. So if I come up with a great filter for screening out "male impotence mortgage stock market plans" spam that works well, I could share it with you. Maybe it could integrate with Brightmail?
I would love to hear an Apple Mail.app product manager reply to this idea. I think this is a service that Apple could make some money on, and satisfy customers at the same time.
Please post a reply here if you think this idea is good or *****.
    Cheers,

    Hi Eric
you should probably submit your idea to http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
I don't use webmail myself - so I'm not well placed to judge it.

  • Unable to Sync with mail in MS Outlook 2003

I just spent an unsuccessful hour with the Palm support group trying to determine why my T/X won't syncronize my mail from MS outlook 2003.  I am using Windows XP SP2, MS outlook 2003, and I have a brand new Palm T/X (as in 2 weeks old).  I can sync my contacts and calendar, but my messages will not syncronize.  Mail I have sent from my T/X won't syncronize to the laptop, and the messages on the laptop won't syncronize to my T/X.  We did a soft reset, a hard reset, set up a new account...nothing worked.  They referred me to Microsoft, who referred me back to Palm...
    Can anyone help?!

does your email account in the PC a pop3 account? and you still have to push the send/receive emails before you can get the emails?
once your email in your outlook in the PC are shown in the inbox, it can't be sync in the TX.
for the reason that versamail will retrieve emails directly from the server. so whatever emails you have in your box will not sync although when you configure versamail it will ask for your email profile.

  • Nokia E6 - Contacts not syncing with Mail for Exch...

    Hello - 1st post
Hope I'm asking this in the right place and hope someone can help
I've got a user with a Nokia E6 that's got Mail for Exchange configured on it. Mail and calendar are syncing OK but not the contacts
The user is 150 miles away and I don't have an E6 that I can play with here. I'm trying to talk her through editing the mail for exchange profile (and not having much luck). I'm sure if the phone was in front of me I'd sort it in 2 mins
I've talked the user through going to Menu > Mail > Settings > Mail for Exchange > What to sync. She's telling me there's no option in there to select contacts
Would anyone be able to tell me the exact button presses I'd need to check if contacts are set to sync and how to edit the Mail for Exchange profile to set them so that they do sync please ?
I've tried the manual and a menu map that I found online, but I can't seem to find it.
    Thanks

    Hello Driveblind,
I am having the same problem with a user wich has a nokia e6, did you ever find / fix the problem?

  • Mail Icon in bar not synced with Mail which I log into thru Mac Mail

Clicking on the Mail icon in bar gives me a list of emails in alphabetical order, going back years. I'm certain I've deleted many of these, but they're still there. No mail received recently goes here - the only way to get my mail properly is to log in to MobileMe using passwords etc [before that, Mac mail] which can be tiresome if I just want a quick check.
How can I sync these two, so that whatever arrives/ is deleted /is sent appears in both locations exactly the same?
    Thanks 4 any advice.

  • Icloud sync with mail

I migrated from Mobileme to iCloud and my Mail quit syncing seemlessly and continually goes offline, requiring me to manually take it online. Growing tired of that I then deleted my account in Mail and tried to create a new one and now I cannot even create the account using the same user name and login that I have had for years. Is there a new smtp address for iCloud? Please Help!!!!!

Your signature says you have 10.5.7 - is this correct?
If so, you have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
Leopard cannot access any other of iCloud's facilities.

  • I can't get Reminders on my iPhone to sync with Mail & iCal

I have a MacBookPro runing OSX 10.6.8.  I got an iPhone last summer, and am slowly ramping up all the features.  When I upgraded my iPhone to 5.0.1, I dicovered all the new toys.  My problem is I don't seem to be ablt to sync Reminders to my to do list on iCal and Mail, both of which sync to my iPhone.  What am I doing wrong?

That's not a silly question at all!
To upgrade your OS you will need to purchase the disks but first you need to know what your system supports. On your MacBook click the apple in the upper left corner and choose About This Mac from the drop down menu.

  • Sync with Mail on Ovi - POP / IMAP

Hello there,I have a Mail on Ovi e-mail account, and I would like to have access to it in several programs like Digsby, and some others, but to do so, they ask me POP and IMAP details. I have read somewhere that Mail on Ovi doesn't require that so we can have access to it in other services, but Digsby asks for it.Best regards,Carlos Silva
