Gmail User Account Provisioning

Hi,
We are using FIM 2010 to provision our IODS users to Gmail, We have almost 700,000 user objects in IODS so running full sync profiler for IODS to get the user objects in meta verse is taking a lot of time.So i am thinking if there is any powershell script
which we can user to provision users in Gmail.
Thanks,
Rakesh

Typically the Google tools GADS, which is their rough equivalent of DirSync, will create Gmail users from AD OUs or some other LDAP repository.  This is the standard that most Google Apps deployment follow so you should look into that path before going
down the Powershell route.  Since you have to provision 700k+ users, I really think following Google best practices is key here.  Are you working with a Google Apps implementation partner for this?  If so they should have someone that can give
you best practices on this. That being said, here is the
link to the Google Powershell cmdlets.

  • Gmail created a new user account on my MBP

This morning I restarted my machine and was shocked there was a new user account in my start-up menu by the name of 'Gmail'. No one has had physical access to my computer. Have I been hacked by google? I've noticed a lot of google updater activity of late. Is this a possibility?

It sounds like you have seriously been hacked. Even if your Mac's ports are closed now, it's possible, even likely, that major damage has already been done. Your system software could have been modified and your Mac might now be being used to attack others, or to mine personal data from you and send it to a remote computer. The creation of a new user account without your knowledge indicates to me that major damage has already been done and needs to be repaired right away. To fix it:
    1) Immediately disconnect your Mac from the internet and from any other network
    2) Back up your personal documents and files
    3) Reformat your hard drive and restore everything from a old backup you made before the intrusion started
    4) Change all of your passwords and ensure all unneeded ports are closed.
    5) Reconnect the internet and restore your personal files and documents from your latest backup.
If you have no such older backup, you'll need to follow these steps instead:
    1) Immediately disconnect your Mac from the internet and from any other network
    2) Back up your personal documents
    3) Reformat your hard drive, and reinstall Mac OS X and all of your Apple and third party applications from the original CDs.
    4) Make sure you choose passwords that are different from any you might have used before. Ensure that he firewall is on and all unneeded ports are closed.
    5) Reconnect the internet and run Software Update to make sure all of your system software is up to date.
    6) Update any of your third party applications.
    7) Restore your personal files and documents from your latest backup.

  • ITunes making duplicates in second user account

I hope I can describe my issue properly. First of all let me start off by telling everybody that I am a new Mac user making the switch from PC so please be patient with this Mac noob.
That being said, I proceeded to setup my new Mac with all the software that I wanted on it before adding an additional user account for my wife. I went through the process of moving my music library over to my account (64Gb) and importing it into my library. I have an iPhone so I am pretty familiar with the iTunes interface.
Once I felt I had everything on this Mac that I wanted, I created a user account on the Mac for my wife to login to and setup sharing for her in iTunes so that we could use the same media folder rather than have 2 physical copies of the media across 2 user accounts on the same computer.
My problem is that when I tell iTunes on her account to find the music, it adds it into her library twice so there is 2 of every song and iTunes shows that there is 128Gb music in her library even though I can only find 1 copy of any of the music on the hard drive.
How can I clean this up?
I know that I can manually delete the duplicates from the library but with over 10,000 titles that would take more time than I care to think about.

Yeah, my mail account only has google, before it had google and icloud but only one of each. I may not have explained it properly though. Mail doesn't seem to be the problem, 10.8 seperated Notes and the Mail app, they no longer appear in Mail, but if I were to go to gmail.com they show up as duplicates (and many of them). When I switched my notes to icloud only, and go to icloud.com, the notes seem fine... with no duplicaes. Yet, in the "On My Mac" section of the Notes app, there is a folder labeled Recovered Items... where nearly every time I access notes, the most recent edited note displays duplicates.
I appreciate your input though, and I double checked what you suggested, no luck yet. I could switch to evernote but I love the formatting of "Notes"

  • After upgrading to Yosemite, I don't receive email from Gmail users

Using a MacBook Pro, 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD internal hard drive.  OSX v10.10.2
My primary email address is an .mac/.me/.icloud email address.
Recently upgraded to Yosemite.  After doing so, I am having trouble receiving emails from Gmail users (I am not having trouble sending emails from my Gmail account, as many people have).
I asked 8 of my friends with Gmail email addresses to email me a test.  I received 4 of these emails immediately after they were sent, the other 4 email took anywhere from 4 to 48 hours for me to receive.
Anyone else have this problem, and if so, any solutions?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

There have been various posts about delayed Gmail e-mail delivery to iCloud e-mail addresses, but so far, no solutions. Gmail uses a nonstandard form of IMAP e-mails, which may be causing the problem.

  • Merging user accounts after using Migration Assistant

I've just acquired my first Mac (Lion OS) and set it up without using the Migration Assistant.  I set up mail accounts for my existing email addresses (Gmail & Virgin).  A few days later I decided to transfer my old files from the PC using Migration Assistant.  Rather than do the whole thing in one go I thought I'd start with iTunes.  What I failed to realise is that the Migration creates a new user account on the Mac (something I only noticed when I couldn't find iTunes and went searching).  If I now migrate something else such as "My Photographs", another user account will appear.
I don't really want more than one user account so how do I transfer the iTunes music from one account to another and the same when I bring more stuff across from the PC?  A related issue is the fact I've set up mail accounts already.  If I migrate my Outlook mail folders and email account details can these also be merged or will the Mac be confused as I've already set something up?
Any help appreciated from this newbie Mac user.  Thanks.

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

  • Multiple User Accounts Belonging to the Same Person--Authorization

    Hello,
I've used iTunes for a number of years, and have accumulated a handful of Apple user accounts over that time period. I've always been able to de-authorize old computers and re-authorize new ones to be able to play all of the songs I've purchased over the years on whatever machine I'm using currently, but I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 and have only been able to get into one of my Apple accounts on it. Obviously I'm aware that it's not ideal for me to be one person with multiple accounts, but as my email accounts changed (and as I got older), I just kept re-registering. Now, iTunes seemingly isn't even registering that my two older accounts exist: my passwords, which I know are right, are no longer working to sign me in, much less to authorize this new computer to play the songs I bought probably 6 or 7 years ago.
I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get Apple to condense my accounts, especially considering that the original iTunes account I had was through AOL (the later two are through gmail accounts), though my end goal is really just to be able to play all of my music.
Any ideas on how to solve any of these issues would be greatly appreciated! At this point iTunes isn't even recognizing the older two accounts, as I said earlier.
    Thanks!
    Elise

You said it right there, in your post... Call Apple for support with combining the accounts. I have never heard of them doing that. But, if they can, you would need to contact them as they do not read these forums.

  • System Image Utility / Automator Add User Account no default shell

I've noticed when creating a customized netrestore flow in System Image Utility for Yosemite, the result of the "Add User Account" action is a user missing a default shell. Noticed this when terminal kept closing as soon as it was opened. dscl -create localhost /Local/Default/Users/USERNAME UserShell /bin/bash fixed the issue but is obviously undesired for provisioning new computers. Any ideas how to configure a default shell for new users created in this way?

Solved by ensuring the add user account action immediately follows the define image source action.

  • Reconciliation for the deleted user accounts on Target Resource

    Hi,
I am trying to run reconciliation on a DB Table as the target resource. It is linking the user accounts that are present in the target resource.
But for the user accounts that are deleted on the target resource Reconciliation is not showing any action on the IdM user accounts under resource profile. The resource object link still shows the status "Provisioned".
Ideally when the users are deleted on the target resource User's profile, Does it require any customizations to make the resource assignment status to "revoked" instead of "Provisioned".
Any response would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

See there could be two possibilities only:
*1) User Status Recovery via trusted Reconciliation*
Associated field in OIM responsible for it - Status field of OIM User Profile -> Check Process Definition for Xellerate User or any Trusted resource in "Reconciliation Field Mappings" section
Valid values are : Active, Disabled and Deleted
*2) Account Status Recovery via target Reconciliation*
Associated field in OIM responsible for it - OIM_OBJECT_STATUS field from Process Data Field -> Check Process Definition for Your custom resource of DB App Table in "Reconciliation Field Mappings" section
Valid values are : Enabled, Disabled and Revoked
So you are trying to achieve the second part.
    Hope its clear.
    Thanks

  • SSAS issue with Domain user account

    Hi
I have SSAS 2008 R2 set up running on Windows Server 2012 Standard.
The server is registered as a part of domain.
I have had an issue of domain user accounts accessing to a cube and it's starting to get worse. There has been no problem with a local user account (I set up a few for testing purpose).
I ran the role report from BIDS Helper and it finds all the domain user accounts invalid.
It looks like SSAS is not talking well with the domain server (Windows 2003 server standard) to verify user credentials. But the thing is that everyone is ok with the domain server except for SSAS. IT does not have a clue what's going on here and everything
is just pointing at me right now.
I'd like to know if there is anyway to monitor that communication between SSAS and domain server for user credential verification and any guideline on how to resolve it. Most of time, it just works again..  like 10 minitues later.. it resolves by itself.
    But this time, not!!!
All I know is that 1. Registering the server as a part of domain 2. use domain user account to set the security.
MY IT department has set up network monitoring tool and says that they are 100% percent working (No connection loss. It's monitoring Active directory as well). The application installed is 'ManageEngine Applications Manager'
I don't know what to do here.
P.S Will it be related something like 'Error
while Add user to SSAS Server - The trust relationship between the primary domain and the trusted domain failed' but it's all the domain accounts including mine are not working.
    Cheers!!!

First check your DNS servers setting on the server you have SSAS installed. You should only use the IP addresses of the DNS servers (e.g. Domain Controllers) of your domain. Active Directory relies on proper DNS server settings. Adding public DNS servers,
even if they are on the bottom of the list, will mess up name resolving Active Directory names. This should have been done when IT had provisioned the server. Same goes for own workstation if you run your development/management software not on the server.
Second make sure SSAS is running under a service account that has access to Active Directory. This can be either a domain account, the local system account, or the network service account. Running SSAS under a local account or the local service account will
not work because local accounts do not have access to Active Directory. Running SSAS under either a Managed Service Account or a Virtual Account will not work because those features require the domain at least the Windows Server 2008 R2 functional
    level.
Third make sure the account you use to log on to SSAS is a domain account and has appropriate permissions in SQL Server and SSAS. Local accounts and SQL Server account do not have access to Active Directory

  • Why won't Fire Fox 34.0.5 restart in limited user account ?

FF 34.0.5 crashed while in the limited user account and won't load when I try and restart it. FF will load and start when I use the admin account with no problem(s). I've uninstalled and re-installed FF 34.0.5 twice but the limited user account still will not restart/load. FF will start in admin account after the re-installs.
When I try and restart/load FF in the limited user account and use Windows task manager to see if FF is loaded, task manager does show FF is loading into memory however the usual FF user interface/display screen does not appear and while the system tries to load FF, FF consumes major portion of memory (up to %99 sporadically). After several minutes FF will display the "error sending screen" but after FF closes, final/exit error message displays that FF was unable to send error details to Mozilla Support.
I'd prefer to try and resolve this problem w/out having to re-install FF from scratch (deleting FF folders, memory registry entries etc. etc. ) because I don't want to lose the current FF configuration (addons, extentions, synch info etc. etc.) I've set up using the limited user account.
I've switched to the Chrome browser temporarily but prefer FF.

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.

Looks like you cleaned up the email before posting, which is good.
Before experimenting further, if you want to eventually restore the last set of windows and tabs you had open before the crash, could you back up your session history files?
Since Firefox is closed, you can access your current Windows user Firefox profile folder by pasting the following into the search box on the Start menu (or the address bar of a Windows Explorer window) and pressing Enter:
    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
From that point, double-click into the most recently updated folder.
''(Note to other readers: if Firefox is currently running, do not exit out, but instead open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
    * ''"3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * ''(menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * ''type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
''In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing your current settings files.)''
    (1) Scroll down and double-click into the '''sessionstore-backups''' folder. Copy all files here to a safe location such as your Documents folder.
    (2) Go back up to the main level and scroll down to the sessionstore file(s). sessionstore.js usually contains your session data as of the last time Firefox exited normally. In this case, it might not be there. Go ahead and copy any other files whose names start with sessionstore and which have dates in a relevant range to a safe location such as your Documents folder.
By default, Windows hides the .js extension. To work with files most accurately, you may want to turn off that feature. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions
The kinds of files you may find among your sessionstore files are:
    * sessionstore.js: the windows and tabs from your previous Firefox session (created when Firefox closes)
    * recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your currently live Firefox session
    * recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    * previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last Firefox session, after Firefox starts; sessionstore.bak for pre-33 versions of Firefox
    * upgrade.js-''build_id'': the windows and tabs in the Firefox session that was live at the time of your last update; sessionstore.bak-''datetime'' for pre-33 versions of Firefox
Okay, next steps in the next post.

  • AD User not provisioning Instantly after reconciliation

    Hi,
I have created an access policy for 'ALL USERS' in OIM to assign AD User resource automatically to every OIM user that is created. However, when a new user is created after reconciliation, AD User is not provisioned instantly to the OIM user, but when I assign any other resource to the user it provisions AD User at that time. I want that AD User account should be provisioned instantly after reconciliation, the moment at which the user is created. Is there any property that needs to be set?
I am using OIM 11.1.1.5 and using DBAT for user trusted source reconciliation.
Urgent response will be very helpful.
    Thanks.
    UZ

You have to run "Evaluate User Policy" OOTB scheduled job to make it happen. There is no such property but you have to depend on this scheduled job. Do one thing schedule this job after trusted recon. or increase the frequency like hourly

  • Safari can't establish secure connection in parental controls managed user account

    Hi,
Safari can't establish any secure connection in parental controls managed user account. Normal web sites open OK, but secure connections, like Gmail which requires https doesn't work. This is what I get instead:
Safari can’t open the page “https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false& continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fmail%2F%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&bsv=llya694 le36z&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&from=login” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “www.google.com”.
Any ideas how to overcome this?

Do you have anti virus software installed, or Peer Guardian?

  • User accounts without Office 365?

    Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to have user accounts synchronized from Active Directory to Windows Intune without having an Office365 environment?
I can see that Azure Active Directory can be used as a standalone product but I'm not sure if this would work with a DirSync setup, Windows Intune and the costs associated Azure AD.
Has anyone used this setup before?

Yes, no problem. It's not O365 that is providing the accounts, it's Windows Azure Active Directory which both use. When you setup Intune, it will automatically provision a WAAD domain for you also.

  • Mac will not let me log in to user account

Two days in a row, my Mac (2 x 2,93 /ghz 6-Core Intel Xeon) (64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3) will not let me log in to my user account. I used to turn my computer off every day, but the tech guys told me I need to leave it on all the time. Please note: I am the one responsible for fixing this computer. I ran Disk Warrior this morning and repaired the disk permissions. Disk Warrior found a few corrupt things like .plist files which couldn't be repaired.
