Gmail won't open.

I can't open gmail in FF. It opens fine in Safari and IE. I'm using version 3.6.13 in Windows 7.

Help! I am having this same problem, haven't made ay software upgrades. I can't open gmail from any site except iGoogle. I did the cookies and all the other hints and absolutely nothing is resetting this for me. It's only through Safari though, I can access my gmail fine from other computers, etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions?? I can't believe Apple and Google haven't found a fix.

Gmail won't open in Firefox. I get this error:
    The page isn't redirecting properly

    1) Reset Firefox preferences

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the <i>cookies.sqlite</i> file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

  • PDF sent using UTL_SMTP to GMail won't open. Opens in Yahoo and others

We are using a stored procedure, in which we use UTL_SMTP to send a PDF attachment. Thing is our attachment successfully goes out. It can be opened in Yahoo, Hotmail, but we cannot open the PDF in Gmail. We get a "cannot open file" error when we click it it Gmail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Billy, I checked the GMail mail which was not working. I forwarded it to my mail client in my PC, saved as a .eml file. I opened the file in Wordpad. This is what is there for the attachment header:
    --14dae934093fdc4a6d04b806a829--
    --14dae934093fdc4a7004b806a82b
    Content-Type: application/pdf; name="notice281.pdf"
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="notice281.pdf"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
X-Attachment-Id: dfb0085649150141_0.1Then as you suggested I send a PDF from my mail-client to GMail. It opens fine in Gmail and you can also download and view it. This is what that mail has for the attachment
    pdf test
    --------------030409090802080802010404
    Content-Type: application/pdf;
    name="hdr_1999_defintions.pdf"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
    Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="hdr_1999_defintions.pdf"What I saw as the only difference was that in the one that is not working there is an extra line
X-Attachment-Id: dfb0085649150141_0.1I tried to find in the code where it comes from but was not successful. I tried modifying the mailing program but still no luck.
And also the PDF cannot be downloaded viewed as well. When we download and view the PDF we get that cannot open the pdf message.

  • Please help, I've tried everything! Gmail won't open, it just endlessly cycles and rarely even gives me an error message: all other sites work fine (Windows 8).

All sites work fine except Gmail will not load. I prefer Firefox, but to be fair, Chrome and IE are doing the same thing when I try to use them. Occasionally Gmail will pop up, most of the time it just endlessly cycles and I don't even get an error message. I'm going to have to get rid of gmail if this goes on.
It's maddening! I've tried everything I could find on mozilla support--restarted in safe mode, clear cache, cookies, etc. This is a brand new Windows 8 laptop. It started a few weeks after I got it. There is nothing else wrong with it, it had a fresh new OS installed before I got it. Please help! Thanks so much.

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    Please report back soon.

  • When trying to go to Gmail, the tab won't open and just says "loading".

For the past three days, every time I try to go to Gmail, Firefox's tab says "loading" and won't open gmail. Gmail works fine on Internet Explorer on my laptop so I know it's not Gmail. No error appears, it just keeps trying to load for as long as I leave the tab open. Any ideas?? I haven't changed anything on my computer or any Firefox settings. Thanks!

In addition to the above, the first thing I would do is clear the cache and delete cookies for the site, this can sometimes help with accessing a site that previously worked. For details see [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache] and [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Deleting+cookies]

  • Gmail inbox won't open in standard view only html. what to do and/or why?

My gmail inbox won't open in the standard view. It will say "loading.." on the upper left and "Done" on the bottom but is blank in between. I have to switch to html in order to see the messages. Advise, please.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    * "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Images won't open in my gmail or websites can anybody help me? this happend when i updated to the newest version of Firefox

    Question
Images won't open in my gmail or websites can anybody help me? This happen when I updated to the newest version of Firefox

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
    * Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
    * Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    * Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
    * Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

  • My gmail account won't open after installation, what do I need to do?

I just installed Snow Leopard and now my gmail account won't open, what do I need to do?

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.

  • I did a Sony Vaio Care maintenance and now Explorer works find, Firefox won't open Gmail except in HTML and won't display features on Facebook or parts of webpages. Java is on. Flahs is OK. Explorer works just fine but Firefox will not.

Gmail will not open except in HTML
My homepage ButchNews.com will not display google ads, nor content from some widgets.
    Facebook messages will not open.
But everything works fine in Explorer... except I hate Explorer.

I was having this problem too and found an easy fix from another thread. Finally have my firefox back up and running!! See below:
"Easy to fix. Clear your browser cache (Tools > Clear Recent History > select Cache, click Clear Now).
That fixed it for me. I have to do it every time I run Vaio Care."

  • Mail won't open after computer falls asleep - forced to force quit!

    Hi there,
My mail won't open 85% of the time unless I force quit and restart my computer. Then, after my computer goes to sleep, I click on the stamp on my dock, and nothing happens. My computer says its still open. I've tried quitting mail and reopening from my Applications folder, but still, nothing happens, and I have to force quit my computer and restart so I can get/send my mail.
Any one have an idea for me? I have my gmail and another personal email set up as IMAP. Could there be a glitch in the way I set that up? Mail seems to come and go fine, when it's active.
Thanks in advance for your time and any help

Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm having the exact same problem and it really just started a couple days ago.

  • Mac won't open pages in browsers. Chrome and Firefox won't open any pages - Safari will only open a selected few.

I've had some strange browser issues, with Conduit being added to Chrome (which I've tried to remove via the browser settings). Chrome will open my Gmail account but no ther pages. Firefox won't open anything. Safari opens a few pages (this forum thankfully) but is very selective.
Google is returning results to me via Google.es rather than Google.co.uk
I can use all browsers freely on other devices on home network (although Google.es has popped up on my iPhone now). I've run anti-virus software which hasn't picked up any problems. I've tried uninstalling Chrome and Firefox, but am unable to do so.
Any help or guidance would be really, really appreciated.
I'm running the most recent version of Mavericks on  2012 iMac.

    Hi,
First of all click Safari/Reset Safari, next click Safari/Preferences/Extensions and turn off extensions. The re-test
If the problem persists, try using safari in safe mode:
Use this link to see how to do this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
If Safari works ok in safe mode, then your problem points to something 3rd party related.
    Have a look at this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230?viewlocale=en_US
    I hope this helps
