GMS 2.1 installed Xen, reboot and get Engine Config Failed

We have Gms 2.1 installed on Xen Virtual machine, works on initial install, but when we reboot get "Engine Config Failed"

SLES 11 SP3, 4 gig of ram, 150 gig of hard space.. Restart does nothing, same error... this the configengine.log

Itunes was working fine. Tries to install latest upgrade and get error message about an invalid character in the path "Program Files (x86)". PC, Win7, nothing else appears to be having same issue.

I tried this solution without success. After FixIt ran and didn't find a problem, either in looking for issues with "software upgrade" or "iTunes" it kindly offered to help me uninstall iTunes. I had thought of this as a possibilty but it seems to me that if you do that you lose a lot of "non-native-to-Apple" information you might have entered. I did this once and recovery was painfull. Is there a way to uninstall iTunes without losing all of that sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated.

Boot Camp Assistant creates a Windows partition in FAT32 to make the Windows XP installation easier.
The problem is that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 require a NTFS partition, so the Windows installer gives this error. The only thing you have to do is to choose the BOOTCAMP partition in the installer and go to “Drive options (advanced)” > Format. Finally, install it

Snow Leopard - very slow restart / reboot and Boot Camp restart fail

After Snow Leopard installation on my Macbook Pro I have a very slow restart. I logged this immediately after install and waited till 10.6.1 was issued and installed but still have the same problems. Hope some one can help.
For an normal restart or reboot I have the grey screen for about 25 secs and then the blue screen hangs for about 2 mins 30 secs before loading desktop. This is longer than Leopard and clearly not what Snow Leopard is meant to be. I have installed on an iMac as well and can see the new normal fast boot.
I also have Windows on it's own partition and use in Boot Camp. I have used this successfully under Leopard.
When I restart from Windows using the Start button and restart, Windows shuts down and then the mac starts up but gets stuck indefinitely on the blue screen. I have waited up to 25 mins then forced a shut down.
However if I restart from Windows using the Boot Camp icon in the taskbar and choose the restart from MacOSX it shuts down windows and restarts the mac in record time!! about 25 secs grey screen and 25 secs blue screen. I can't get this in normal mac mode! - Bizarre.
I have run Disk Utility, repaired permissions, run Tech Tool, Onyx, reset PRAM, deleted startup items plists and removed startup items from System Preferences Account.
I have monitored the Console app for all the startup conditions noted above and will post below. In the logs of the normal mac reboot you can see something to do with Security Agent taking over 2 mins to load. Maybe that is a clue, but I don't understand these messages. Please note that the iStatsmenu app was installed after snow leopard and I had these slow startups before it's installation.
If anyone technical can understand what the **** is going on here I would really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for your contributions. I have made little progress on this issue since posting.
Just as added info, I did a re-install of Snow leopard from install DVD and upgrade again to 10.6.1 and no change to the startup behaviours. Same pattern as before, although the first restart was fast and probably how it is meant to be, then the slow ones reappeared.
I also had a thought that somehow it may be related to the nominated startup disk. There were posts on other boards about similar issues with Leopard where the hanging start was found to be related to the computer not knowing which startup disk to use. I thought maybe as it works when using the boot camp icon from Windows but not the restart button, it may be related, but in OSX and Windows both are set to startup in OSX on HD. So no further joy.
Maybe someone else will come along who can understand the Console logs. Why does the loginwindow and Security Agent take so long?
Do you guys have any clues from your Console system logs? Does yours hang on loginwindow?
The fact that there are so few people with the same problem suggests to me that there is a third party device/preference/ hidden file somewhere that is having an effect and it's not an Apple issue.
I am getting close to wiping the hard drive and starting again....but live in hope.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.

There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to CRL. Log out, log back in, and test.

Hi, ive been searching through the forums for days now and have followed all the steps i could find to try to rectify this issue.
Ive tried installing adobe application manager but i get the same issue
Ive ran the adobe cc cleaner but that doesnt seem to do much
Ive tried installing via root user
Ive tried renaming a lot of files such as 'oobe' but nothing seems to work

I did it through CS, I think. I used the installation disk and selected Acrobat. It loads and then gives me all kinds of error messages and then uninstalls itself.

X300 want to install new os and get message: no harddrive found

hi, want to install a new windows because of virus. thing is, when i try to boot from installation cd, i do get message: no harddrive found an installation is aborted. its an ssd on the x300. i have no idea what to do!

I am installing Windows XP now. I changed Compatibility Mode several times. Maybe because of Rescue and Recovery Function I had some Bluescreens, but now it seems to work. The Harddrive is a Solid State Drive from Samsung. I thought it would be known in this Board. The exact Signification I dont know. May be the combination of Virus win32:vitro and ThinkPad Rescue Functions, I did not know that good.

I am using photoshop elements 9 and need to upload a session of photos I just took in NEF raw, but it gives me an error saying it cannot open the photos. I read in another forum that this probably means I don't have the latest update installed. I try to get the update and it gives me an error saying that photoshop is unavailable and to try again later. I am on a time crunch and need to figure this out asap if possible! After 8.0.1, Firefox continually asks to reboot, I reboot, and get same error message. No Firefox.

Upgraded to 8.0.1. A "Setup" error box drops down: "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" I reboot multiple times, and the box still appears. Went back to an earlier restore point in XP to delete the upgrade. It is still there. Tried to download the new version in IE, and will not allow it to go to the internet. I would like to use Firefox, but now only use IE, and cannot access my bookmarks, or any other programs.

Installing flash player and get "close explorer" error code

trying to download flashplayer, keep getting error to close explorer, how do I do that?

"Turning IE back on" is as simple as clicking Start and clicking Internet Explorer in your programs menu.
Better yet, download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove the old Flash Player.
Next, run the Flash Player ActiveX Installer.
That should have you up and running.
