GMS Authentication source after GW IP changed

Hey,
I've recently replaced the GroupWise server, as such the IP has changed.
I went into the Intellisync Admin console and found the option to change the server IP of GW.
I then found the profile options to change the IP also. For some reason the Authentication source is still listing the old ip (GroupWise 10.1.1.12).
For the life of me I can't find where I can either edit, add or remove this authentication source....As a work around I've changed a few to use Intellisync for Auth, but this would be a pain to do for all users.
I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks
N

Are you accessing the PO as a trusted app? If so you might delete the old
trusted app key and create a new one. That profile under wireless email
should let you change the source IP to your GW system, now it's not taking,
I have no clue.
Also check your SOAP thread on the PO win the http monitor, I found out the
hard way that the GMS loves to grab all the threads keeping them in non-idle
state and make no connection to the server. I don't know the fix for that
as I am working on this problem right now and trying to decide to call
Novell or get a root canal since both are very painful.
I have all but given up on GMS since it won't play nice with GroupWise.

  • Authentication popups after computer name changed to computer record name

    Hi
I'm not sure if anyone else is facing this issue, but I have been unable to find anything in the forums.
I have setup a number of client machines on Lion Server, all using 10.7.4. I used WGM and Remote Desktop to make some changes and deploy software
Since then, I have been getting the following authentication popup on all client machines (twice after login, and then every 30 mins or so afterwards):
Mac OS S wants to make changes. Type an administrator's name and password to allow this.
The changes made prior to this happening were:
    - Overplay VPN installed (using RD pkg install)
    - Adobe CS 5.5 installed (using Adobe Enterprise Deployment Tool and RD package install)
    - Evernote installed (using RD copy)
    - Set computer name to computer record name (From WGM > Computer Groups > Preferences > Options)
I have now removed all the installed software from one machine, and log in as administrator, unbind the machine, rename the computer manually to the record name, rebind the computer.
As far as I can see, I have reverted all changes one at a time, and am still receiving the admin password requests when logged in as a network user.
The only machine that seems to be ok, is the one where the name change to computer record name was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?
    Thanks
    Suraj

Issue resolved. It turns out none of my changes caused the issue as much as Google Chrome Autoupdates. The new version constantly checks for updates which makes clients on Lion Server go haywire. Solution to turn off auto-updating:
    Open a Terminal window:
    defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 0
    Relaunch Chrome.

  • How to change the Data sources after deploying the application ??

    Hi All,
i want to know how to change the Data sources after deploying the application to the application server ???
    I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0)

Can you access the Enrprise Manager website of the target Application Server from your location? If so, you can change the datasource in it. If not, yo can bundle the datasource definition in your archive and use that one instead of the one configured in the target OC4J container. Or this will just be the responsability of your customer: whenever you send a new WAR file, they have to modify the datasource if needed and deploy the application?

  • Authentication Source not appearing in login dropdown

Hi,I've created a custom Authentication Web Service and linked a Authentication Source to this. The Everyone group is given Select rights to both of these objects. I've given the Authentication Source the description "TestAuth".
However when I refreshed my login page there after, I don't see my newly created Authentication Source. Tried re-starting the application server (Tomcat 4.1) and it didn''t work either. Tried to force a strict ordering of the Authentication Source Prefix using the options in PTConfig.xml, but no luck there either.
The only useful Plumtree article I managed to find is one that talks about the blank description, which is not the case here.
Has anyone encountered this before and know how to ensure that the authentication source you create appears always? Need to solve this urgently in preparation for migration from 4.5WS to 5.0.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
    Weng Kong Lee

    Hi,
This should just work. As long as the everyone group has read access to the Authentication Source it should show up in the select dropdown. You will need to restart the app server (as you did) to pick up the changes, because the auth source select is cached per language (you could also just change the guest user to a different language).
Are there any errors or warnings in PTSpy the first time you hit the login page (errors would only show up the first time because the select will be cached after that)? If you turn on Debug logging for the portal common component, you should be able to see more information as the list gets created. If you can post any relevant PTSpy messages, we may be able to help you further.
Another possibility is that if your Auth Source is set as an Auth Partner for a Sync Auth Source, then they won't be added to the list because the Sync Auth Source will be expected to be added to the list.

  • Nothing happens when I click on Authentication Source

We have installed Nakisa version STVN 2.1 SP1 on CE SAP application server. Deployment went fine and installed the serial file. I am trying to configure connection to our SAP system but cannot do anything in the administrator Console. When I click on Authentication Source nothing happens. I did an http watch session and found a 404 error in leftpanel.js but not sure if this causing the issue. I made sure my IE settings are correct.
I am seeing these errors in the CDS.log file

I found the fix in Nakisa's troubleshooting section :-
Unable to navigate through Administrator Console wizards
    Problem
Unable to navigate through the Nakisa Administrator Console wizards after deploying the application on SAP NetWeaver.
    Explanation
    Relative URLs are disabled.
    Solution
Enable relative URLs in the AS Java Config Tool.
    Procedure
    1. Log on to the hosting server as an administrator.
    2. Navigate to the /usr/sap/[system_name]/j00/j2ee/configtool directory, then run configtool.sh (in Linux), or configtool.bat (in Microsoft Windows).
The AS Java Config Tool opens.
    3. Click Yes, if prompted.
    4. Select View, Expert Mode from the main menu to enter Expert Mode.
    5. Expand cluster-data, Template, managers, then select ClassLoaderManager in the left pane. The Manager properties load in the right pane.
    6. Select the ForceResourceClose key in the table.
    7. Enter false as the Custom Value in the Custom Property Data section, then click Set Custom Value.
    8. Select File, Apply Changes from the main menu.
    9. Restart the application server instance.

  • G6: Consolidating Multiple Authentication Sources

    Hello everyone!
When our development environment was setup an Authentication Source was created to go against 1 of the 4 containers in our Active Directory. The containers correspond to different regions of our organization (North, South, East West). At the time we just wanted to test the North people so we set the OU to that container.
This past week I wanted to expand our user base to include the 3 other containers. Unsure of the exact procedure to do this, I copied the original AuthSource and created 3 new ones. The users were successfully pulled in, however at the login screen there are now 5 authentication sources (Plumtree Users, North, South, East, West). I realize now that a mistaken was made from the start in pulling from a container rather than the root, or in my second step of creating new sources rather than manipulating the original. (chalk it up to a learning curve!)
The Authentication Sources are tied directly to the users that they have loaded and can't be deleted unless the associated users/groups are "removed".
Would I be correct in assuming that the only way to consolidate our login Authentication Sources would be to delete all of our users followed by all of the Auth Sources and then create a single source to query the root? Is there any way to change the users Auth Source?
Are there was any other "best practices" or pitfalls that I should be aware of? Especially things that can't be modified after the initial import as in this case?
    Thanks for any help,

    I would do this:
Delete the "new" (South, West, East) users, groups, then delete the corresponding authentication sources
Modify the "original" (North) authentication source's User Query Base (and Query Filter if necessary) Rename the authentication source if you like. Do not change the User Unique Name attribute.
Sync the original authentication souce. This should just add the users from the modifed root, and assuming that the original users are still included in the modified base and query, they should just stay right there.

  • CUP 5.3 SP8 - Authentication Source/User Details Source question

    Hello,
Here is another issue I'm noticing with CUP.
Currently we have it configured as such:
    Authentication Source: LDAP
    Search Data Sourec: SAPHR
    User Details Data Source: SAPHR
When a Requestor logs in to create a request for themself, Requestor Username and Email are correctly populated under the Requestor section of the request screen. This Username and Email match identically from SAPHR; and it should, as that is what we have defined as our User Data Source
When a Requestor logs in to create a request for another user, Requestor Username and Email are populated differently under the Requestor section of the request screen; this information in this case appears to be coming from LDAP. This does not seem correct to me. LDAP is only defined as the Authentication Source, not the User Data Source.
    1) Why would the Requestor section populate differently when creating a request for yourself vs. another user?
    2) Is this a bug in CUP?
    3) Has anyone else noticed this or found a fix?
    Thanks!!
    Jes

We are on the same SP level and are configured similarly but don't see this issue.
    Data Source - LDAP
    Search - SAP
    Datasource - Multiple (SAPHR, SAP(BI), LDAP, SAP(SRM))
Also, our LDAP does not carry the email address (yet).
When I create a new request for someone else, all the information is filled in correctly from our SAPHR system, if they are in HR, or from our BI system if they are not in HR but are in BI.  However, since we don't carry e-mail address in our LDAP system yet, the requestor e-mail field is left blank and I have to manually fill it in.  (We do plan on changing this).
    Hope this helps,
    Peggy

  • Probable bug while creating authentication source

I am not sure if its a bug in Plumtree but whenever I try to configure the sample HelloWorld Authentication service in the Portal I get the following error.
Error - Unable to initialize the Server Configuration Interface framework because the XUI.XSL transformer file could not be located. Confirm this file was installed properly.
This error is recieved when I try to create a Remote Authentication Source using the Hello World Authentication web service.
On the other hand when I configure the same files on a Portal running on Unix platform it runs like a charm
I am using 6.0 version of plumtree
    Thanks
    Pallav

This error message was resolved for me by following the steps in Appendix D: 'Configuring WebLogic After You Run the Plumtree Installer' of the Plumtree Installation Guide. After doing so, I do get a ClassNotFoundException for the SAXParser when I start up the domain in certain cases, but that's another story...

  • SCD - source sets where multiple changes exist for the same natural key

I am using the Oracle SCD type2 method (end date old record and insert the new record) which was working fine until my source set contained multiple changes for the same natural key. Does anyone know of a way to handle this?
    Thanks

    Hello,
I think, the way of handling multiply changes of NK is totally depend on business requirements for your project.
There could be number of approaches for this. For example:
    - all changes but the last are considered active during one day, going subsequently right after previously existed SCD record;
    - all changes but the last are considered “active” depending on its occurrence within “fact” data (as far as you consider NK change based on some attribute set - probably some of attributes show themselves within “fact” data)
    - etc.
So, make an agreement upon this with your customer – and ETL design decision will follow immediately.

  • IDispatch error #19876 - LDAP Authentication Source - User Unique Name Attribute

    Hi,
we have troubles with the User Unique Name Attribute:
As 'cn' and 'dn' may change we want to use the EmployeeID ('workforceID') as unique identifier for our user synchronisation. This attribute exists and is also imported in the profile service. But when we add 'workforceID' to the 'User Unique Name Attribute' in the LDAP Settings of the Remote Authentication Source (LDAP AWS) the job fails and throws the error at the end of this message in the history log.
When we remove 'workforceID' everything works fine. If we set the user unique name attribute to 'cn' or 'dn' everything works fine, too. If we enter not existing names the same error is thrown. It seems like 'workforceID' could not be read/found? What are we doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

That's the correct place to look for the version.
My guess at what is happening is that some of users do not have the 'workforceID' attribute and that is causing the AWS to fail when it gets to them. Unfortunately there is not great error logging around this in the 2.0 version of the LDAP AWS. In order to find out if this is indeed the case, and to see what user does not have this attribute, do a trial run with workforceID as the User Login Attribute. This case is caught and reported better.

  • Authentication error after upgrade to APEX 4.2

    Hi,
After the upgrade to Apex 4.2, I started to receive an error when trying to run the application.
ERROR: "There is no authentication configured for this application. ORA-01403: no data found".
I checked and double checked the authentication options. Everything seemed fine. Tried several tricks. No success.
Then I didn't bother much. I just recreated the application (that is - created a copy of the application) and got rid of this error. Then deleted the application that wouldn't run and kept the new one. Everything works fine now.
Was there an option that I had missed? What would have been a "polite" way to get rid of this error?

    Hi,
I had the same issue after upgrade, using a Custom Authentication Scheme (LDAP).
Debugging and adding logs indicated that the session was being processed correctly, but to "nobody", therefore raising the "Invalid Login Crednetials" message.
At a total loss for ideas, I started changing URL parameters on this authentication scheme (after having deleted the login page, recreating and even re-importing, changing processes etc etc), applied the changes and it worked.
Not fully understanding why slight changes worked, I reverted the changes, clicked on "Apply Changes" and it worked as well.
This led me to believe that the actual Authentication Scheme was decompiled, or needed to be re-validated somehow. I tested this on other applications that use the same scheme (but were also inaccessible), and it worked.
Edit Application --> Edit Application Properties --> Security Tab --> Define Authentication Schemes --> "Edit Current Scheme" --> Don't make any changes, Simply click on "Apply Changes"
I hope this helps anyone who might be having the same issue.
    Kindly,
    James

  • Issue with data source after deploying

We are experiencing an issue with our data source after deployment of a cube. On the datasource properties in Visual Studio 2012, we have the max connections set to 0 before the deployment. Once the cube is deployed, I can navigate to the <name>.0.ds.xml
file and open it and see that the <MaxActiveConnections>0</MaxActiveConnections> is indeed set to 0. At some point over the next couple days, a process of the cube or some other action causes that value to get updated to some number too large to
be converted to an int, and makes the datasource invalid. At that point we cannot view the datasource properties in SSMS, we cannot open the cube project from Visual Studio, and we’ve even had failures when trying to process the cube.  Is there a config
somewhere that would cause this value to get overwritten, or some other behind the scenes process that we can look at?

Typically you would import the metadata from the source location and either use that location as the data source (and so not need to redeploy), or deploy it to a separate target location.
The replace action is destructive as you've found, and effectively performs a drop table followed by create table. Hence any data in the table is lost.
If you just want the Control Center Manager to correctly display that the table is deployed, try setting the action to "Upgrade". This will try to upgrade the deployed object to match the definition in OWB, but as the two are identical this will result in no changes. However, it will update the deployment records to indicate that the object is deployed.

  • Just curious about authentication sources

We are running Gms 3.0.1 on linux and my authentication source is my Groupwise. Is it possible to create another Groupwise authentication incase one fails or shuts down, the users should be able to use the second authentication Groupwise source ?

If your GroupWise go down, then you don't have email so if I understand you
properly, you are referring to the local or LDAP authentication so
technically such would server no purpose?
I believe the other options are there as they relate to the full Intellisync
product which supports other email systems, GMS is just the Novell version
that carries over aspects of the full program as for example the full
product supported BlackBerrys but not in the Novell GMS version.
