It seems to do it if it's not too. At least this business started when I upgraded to FF3 (which has been very nice otherwise).
But that last registry edit seems to have done it; thanks thayer.

Adobe Creative Cloud (Desktop) does not work properly. The application is blocked : it could not be launch neither stopped. I'm on MAC Yosemite OS, does anyone know how to remove it properly or to force its stop. It does not appear in the launched applications.

I received no error message. The application was just trying to find applications unsuccessfully.
I am using MAC OS 10.10.1
I tried to uninstall the application  but it seems that a kind of deamon is still installed thus providing me to reinstall properly. Do you know where are the elements to remove in order to get my machine just like before ?
Otherwise I would have to reinstall everything and this would be a pain.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to remove picture in Desktop Pictures Folder

I'm fairly new to my iMac...I've had it less than a year. Somehow (don't ask me how!) I've managed to get a couple of personal pics under the" Desktop Pictures" folder that is found when you right click on the desktop and select "Change Desktop Background". When it opens there are several folders under "Apple" one of which is "Desktop Pictures". The ones in question are pictures I'd previously used as my desktop background, but I do this all the time and none of the others have ended up stuck in this folder. I don't know how I did it, but I did and I can't seem to remove them. It's not a life or death situation and I can live with it, but to be frank they are pictures of an "ex" and I'd prefer to remove them if possible. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Wow! How easy was that! I feel like a moron. I work 8-10 hrs a day on a computer at work doing AutoCAD so I'm not exactly computer illiterate, but I was completely vexed at how to remove those. Thank you so much...I appreciate it very much!

  • Please explain me, how to remove an usb stick or memory chip? With experiences only in pc:s, I do not find on my first apple e.g. MacBook Air a solution. Until now I have succeeded to destroy one chip full of photos and - there's no life more in the port.

Please explain me, how to remove an usb stick or memory chip? With experiences only in pc:s, I do not find on my first apple e.g. MacBook Air a solution. Until now I have succeeded to destroy one chip full of photos and - there's no life more in the port...
Someone told me just to remove the chip in clicking it to the trash can and voilá - it would be done. But as I did so, on the screen appeared a text which let me know, that that way had been the wrong one...
I should have clicked Finder plus something.... which I do not now remember but which was then not found behind the Finder.
So please would someone be so kind and tell me, where I can find explanations for the most simple functions. The manual I got does not include a clue.
    Thank you!

First make sure that no application is using or has open any files on the disk. Then:
Click and drag the disk icon on the desktop to the trash. Wait for the system to recognize the action, and the icon should disappear from the desktop. It is then safe to remove the device.
Alternatively, you can secondary click on the disk icon, and then primary click "Eject (name of disk)". Wait for the icon to disappear off the desktop, and then it is safe to remove the drive.
Here is a detailed help document on the subject.

  • How to remove magicjack plus osx  10.7.5

    Hello,
I am new to Mac and I am not a Unix system programmer.
I purchased a MagicJack Plus for my sister and I set it up using my new iMac for her. Now I would like to remove the setup software from my iMac as I do not like to leave extraneous software on my machine.  Also, MagicJack seems to be even more clueless than me, which I find VERY disturbing.
    I.  I viewed and attempted to execut instructions outlined in "How do I uninstall magicJack from my computer?" on MJ wesite as follows:
Download CompleteUninstall.sh. After the download is complete, open a terminal window by navigating to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
In the Terminal Window, navigate to your download directory (usually Downloads) by typing cd Downloads and pressing enter. Next, type chmod+x CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter. Now type ./CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter again.
For reference the CompleteUninstall.sh script contains the following:
    #!/bin/sh
    # instalator files
    rm -rf ~/.magicJack
    rm -rf ~/MJInstlogs
    rm -rf ~/Desktop/Start\ magicJack.app
    # softphone files
    rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/magicJack
    # WebKit cache
    rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/magicJack
    II.  This is results:
Last login: Tue Apr 23 11:36:11 on ttys000
    Larrys-iMac:~ ldwalker$ cd Downloads
    Larrys-iMac:Downloads ldwalker$ chmod+x CompleteUninstall.sh
    -bash: chmod+x: command not found
    Larrys-iMac:Downloads ldwalker$
The change ownership command failed, I presume because the path to the Unix Commands directory is not set? If so, how do I set it and then reset everything back to current defaults?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    baltwo,
Thanks VERY much.......this solved my problem.
I just cut and pasted the command into my terminal session.  I assumed the format was correct as the exact same command set format was used on several different web sites giving instructions on how to remove the magicjack software.
Amazing how incorrect info gets propagated around the web!

  • How to remove source link in PDF file

    Hello,
I want to create pdf files of all newsletters our organization has sent out for the past year. I took a template from the software we use for sending out our newsletters. I saved this template as an htm file on my desktop. Then I used acrobat pro to create a new pdf file from a web page. It comes out perfectly, all links are working, no problems there. But on the left top of the document there is a link to where that file is stored on my pc. It looks like this:
    file:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/..........
I hope somebody can tell me how I remove that link from there. I've been struggling with it for some time now.
    Kind regards,
    Lucas

In the dialog of 'Create PDF from Web Page'you can change the settings.

    Open the folder /Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Plugins/
To navigate to that folder, open the folder "Library" directly on your Macintosh HD, then inside the Library folder go to Application Support, then iPhoto.  Is there anything installed?

  • How to remove a black border box that continously tabs to each field automatically till end of web page; restarts to top of page, cannot stop this box. Scroll bar cannot controlled with mouse, returns auto to top of scroll slide, never remaining at bottom

how to remove a black border box that continously tabs to each field automatically till end of web page; restarts to top of page, cannot stop this box. Scroll bar cannot be controlled with mouse, scroll bar returns automatically to the top of scroll slide every time I move the bar to the bottom of the scale.  Also, there's a rectangular text box (with black background and white text) that is always on the desktop that emulates a typed text, HTML, or cmd function.

The first two problems (box cycling from element to element on page, scroll bar returning to top) can be caused by a stuck (or defective) Tab key on the keyboard. Such damage can be caused by a liquid spill; just one tiny droplet is enough to short a wafer switch under one key.
The last issue (black box, white text - sounds sorta like a debugger window) I haven't seen, but could be caused by something similar.
To check for that, try using a different keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, turn it off and see if the oddities stop.

  • How to remove shelf beneath dock?

Under previous OS X releases it was easy to remove the shelf beneath the dock leaving just icons and little white lights under those icons in use.  To do that you would:
How to remove the Leopard Dock shelf
    Got to:
    Macintosh HD
    System
    Library
    Core Services
Click on Dock.app and hit Show Package
    Contents
    Resources
    Remove these graphics:
    frontline.png
    scurve-xl.png
    scurve-sm.png
    scurve-m.png
    scurve-l.png
    Copy them to another folder
    then delete them
    Now go to Applications/Utilities/Termarinal App
    Type:  killall Dock
Now when you burrow down to the png images in the Resources folder you can find/remove the frontline.png image but the "scurve" images are no longer there and Apple has probably renamed them something else.
The shelf is one of the most annoying aspects of the desktop.  It isn't cute or clever but detracts for the overall look and takes up far too much screen space at the bottom of the page.
Has anyone figured out which images must now be deleted from Mountain Lion to effectively remove the dock shelf?

Here's the answer:  A free application called TransDock X from nothinggoes dot com.  Go there, download, install - you'll have to open your preferences -> security and change Mountain Lion's default restricting you to using only 'authorized' (i.e., App Store only) applications to "any" applications then run TransDock X.
Does a beautiful job.  Removes the shelf entirely.
You may wonder why I dislike the shelf so much.  I run my Mac Pro using two 30" Cinema Displays.  That's 5 feet of display.  When the shelf is displayed I can't figure out what apps are running because the little white light beneath them is now so close in color to the shelf itself.  AND, the shelf simply takes up too much screen space, is distracting and very annoying.  Remove it and all you see are your favorite or most used Dock app icons and if any are in use there is just a little bright light shining beneath them.
By using "spacers" I can display my Dock apps in groups - systems apps like iTunes, Mail, App Store, Dashboard, Finder, Launchpad as one group then a space and the next group: EyeTV, Media Editors, Toast, Apperture, Final Cut Pro, and others followed by another spacer and another group for TextMate, Pages, FireFox, Safari, SeaMonkey, etc.
Apple should give the user the option of many screen features including the ability to remove the shelf.
BTW - here's how you add spacers to your Dock as well as a Recent Applications Stack or Grid:
    Add Spacers to the Dock
If you want to divide the applications in your Dock into groups, the best way is to add spacers. A common method is to create "fake" applications with an invisible icon to fill the space, but that is a bit inelegant. A much better way, available in Leopard, is to use a Terminal Command. Each time you run the command it inserts a blank "space" into your Dock, which you can then drag around to where you like.
Start by opening up Terminal, located in Applications/Utilities. Type the following line and then hit enter:
    defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'
For the changes to take effect you will have to restart the Dock, either by logging out and in again or by running the killall Dock command in the Terminal. The spacer appears at the end of the icons that are permanently in the Dock. You can then drag it along to where you want it.
    Dock Spacers
The above command inserts the spacer on the applications side of the Dock. To insert a spacer on the right hand side, use the following command:
    defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'
As always, you will have to run killall Dock for changes to take effect (open the Terminal app and type: killall Dock - the Dock will disappear and come back up with the changes. To add multiple spacers just run the command again and again. Note that you can use the "up" arrow in terminal to automatically enter the last run command.
If you want to remove a spacer, treat it like any other icon in the Dock. Either drag it off and let go to get a nice puff of smoke, or right-click on it and choose "Remove from Dock".  And, of course, you can drag spacers throughout the Dock line to separate groups of apps.
    Add a Recent Applications Stack
You can add a Recent Applications stack to the Dock. To do so, open Terminal and type this command:
    defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{ "tile-data" = { "list-type" = 1; }; "tile-type" = "recents-tile"; }'
After that, type killall Dock in the Terminal to restart the Dock and see your new folder. This is a great little Dock icon for using an app you used recently but is not generally held in your Dock.
    Enjoy!
