Gnome applets changed their language!!!

Hey everyone,
I have the following wierd thing happening. I shut my computer down, on which I am using Gnome with German language settings - everything worked fine and except for browsing the net I did not do anything that session.
After 30 min I started my computer again and everything works fine - excpet for that the languages of the applets in the panel have changed. Not that the whole settings for gnome changed - no, just for the apllets - everything else is still german. I played with the language settings in gdm and nothing helped. I updated gnome to 2.8.1 but still the same error. The clock, Weather plugin, virtual desktops - everything is in english
Well, if somebody knows how to solve that problem - please let me know!!!

We’re migrating our hosts from WebEx cloud to our on-prem solution right now (CWMS 1.5.1.323.A).
We’ve learned that CWMS 1.5 does not provide an online address book where hosts could customize language, time zone, and locale settings for their external attendees.
Do external users have any chance at all to change their language, time zone and locale settings individually?

"external users" are those participants, who do not have an LDAP account in our deployment, since they are not intendet to act as hosts: our stakeholders, partners, customers, clients.
It looks, as if these people would stick to the systems' default language / time zone / locale.
We are wondering if there might be a CWMS-component like this:

He said do not mess with that ! then I got a text from somewhere to reset 4 pins suddenly it was very strange I said to him that I got this pin this morning but it said you can use maximum 3 hours it had a UK number and I told him I do not like this and will not enter the code he said do not do it if it is from the UK and then I said to him ok you did a lot to help but we can not go any further ! and we cut of I went back to my computer to re do the ID but I found everything a mess so I call and a stupid sounding Japanese women with a squeaky voice came on I was calm at first and they want your phone number your IMEI number your iPhone serial number date of birth Address email address it takes 10 munutes to check then they ask what are you caling about so I try to explain my keychain is broken or problems with language security questions and can not change my pasword because the security question have failed me so it is ONE BIG HEADACHE AND I START I GET STRESSED she says Do want an ENGLISH speaker ,I say yes ,that guy i talked to earlier but I never got his name and first time I ever talked to him but they said he is not here so I said ok and then she said today is sunday so call back in the morning ,I said ,well ok in Japanese but they make you feel stupid because they do not want to speak Jap@anese with none natives and they are to busy,And they feel that I should not bother them ,then I say that Apple Japan is trying to refuse Apple foreign customers and then she wants to hang up and ask me to visit the shop ,but they are the same I have a very bad time with Apple Japan since they do not discuss software problems or security with customer meaning if you have a problem they ask you to come on a time 20 minutes max so they do hardware test and say you phone is fine then I say no I can not reset my ID they say you must call call centre so I am going around in circles ,When I call English it is usually Australia so if my problem is in Japan surely if do not want me to talk to them in Japanese and they ask me to call Australia but every time my call charge is expensive after asking them is this free because I have Apple care they say yes but when the call goes to Australia 0120 277 535 it might change to paid call so I call then I have to ask is this charging they say we can not give you that information ! so what can I do I have have been at the computer and phone all day on my day off work and in tre week I am so busy and can not use my phone I can not work without it ,this new technology for you ,they can not cope with the fact that the customer have problems yet they do not want to deal with us because they can not solve it and so it shows them to be useless they like to walk around in their cool tee shirts and retro shop but when it comes to functionality we are unwelcome they got the money so do not return because apple is perfect that nothing should go wrong .
But it does somehow my English security answers do not work on a Japanese Question especialy if I did not choose that question I set up the multiple choice In English and wrote the answers in English or Roman and set them langauge preferences in English, do you really think you can correctly write english name or word in Japanese they write a police patrol car pato caa パトカア　they do not have r and l .So it is my choice to make my security easy for me and as difficult for others to hack.But they also have patororoo choo meaning ' now patrolling ' so why they have pato caa patrol car and patoro patrol and have thousands of Chinese words kanji they can find patrol.

How Do I Change the Language of Start Menu and Modern Apps After I Installed Windows? Applying Language Pack only Localizes Traditional Applications?

I installed Windows 10 Technical Preview with original language settings for the US region.
No that I need my Windows localized to Espanol - Spanish.
I type "language' in Cortana, select Add language to this device and click Add a language on the Region & language.
Then I select added language and click Set as primary.
After the restart I see that while Windows Explorer is displayed in Spanish, Start menu is displayed in English (including app sections such as Explore Windows), as well as Modern apps that have retained their English names (such as Mail).
I even set the location to Spain in regional settings (although I didn't like the idea, as I want to browse the US market). To no avail.
How do I change the language of the Start menu and modern apps?

Okay, I ran the in-place upgrade and it worked!
What I did:
1. Downloaded and attached Espanol edition of Windows Setup ISO.
2. Started setup.exe from that ISO.
TIP: If need be, you can downgrade your installation of Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview to Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview by changing two registry values, EditionID and ProductName. You may use the following registry file on Windows 10 Enterprise

The only thing that wasn't localized are the new app sections. I still see Explore Windows and Everyday apps. Probably, these UI strings haven't yet been translated.

Firefox 4 -- just downloaded and menu & top bars are in some strange language - not english. I can't seem to get to a tools menu to change the language because I can't read the top menu.

Just downloaded Firefox4 and can't read the top line menu because it's in some strange language with symbols instead of letters. How do I get it to display English in the top line menu?
If I could read the menu, I'd go to tools and see if there were an option to change the menu language, but since I can't read the menu choices, I'd only be pushing meaningless buttons.

Thanks. I tried it and get the attached screen. I don't see anything which lets me change the language in the menu.
Before I give up completely & just stick with Chrome or IE, I'll bring my laptop which has a correctly configured version of firefox 4 side by side with my desktop & use it as a template for clicking on the correct gibberish lines. I still don't see an option for changing menu bar language, but I'll search around a bit.
It would help if I could get phone contact with someone at Mozilla, but they don't seem to list a phone number on their help page ----

Change primary language in online Windows 8.1

Hi all,
is there a way to change windows 8.1´s primary language via script?
After deploying o standard en-us image at every site of our company, we add site-specific language packs using lpksetup.exe commandline.
On Windows 7, we were able to change default language (which seems to be called primary language in Windows 8.1) using and xml file as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ie/goglobal/bb964650%28en-us%29.aspx
With Windows 8.1 this doesn´t seem to work anymore - does anybody know another way of doing it?

thanks for your answers but that´s not what i was looking for.
My Scenario is to deploy Windows 8.1 in a multinationaly environment. I had planned to have only one english image (no language packs at all) for all clients.
Depending on the clients site, i´d add the needed language packs afterwards via commandline (lpksetup.exe) and set the default UI Language and Inputlanguage for the machine. Adding the languagepacks (using lpksetup.exe or dism.exe) does add the package to
the local store, nut I still need do do these steps manually:
1. Add the language in the control panel applet to make it visible in the list of available languages (at least windows knows that the files are there)
2. Make one language the primary one
3. Choose an input language
4. Copy those settings for all users
It can´t be the only way to do offline servicing and redeploy the windows image to all distribution points everytime we need a new language for a new site.
Also, it´s not an option to let the user do the work, clicking through control panel applets.
Is there a way, to do Steps 1 to 4 via commandline in a running Windows installation (DISM doesn´t support any online installation)?

Users should be able to view the content in the language they want, regardless of where they are. I have seen threads from users in 2012 with this exact issue and I am simply unable to even slightly understand why a simple country dropdown menu has still not been added. In your knowledge base, you suggest users to change the language of their payment gateway, but this is not a realistic option, since the country of choice must match with the country of your payment gateway (PayPal is the common and obvious example here). We should not be forced to seeing content in a language that we might not even understand!

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

This changes the actual store. There are dozens of stores. Each store is posted in ONLY ONE LANGUAGE. Changing the country (actually, it changes the store) doesn't change the language. The language is hard-fixed for the particular country's store. You cannot change the language of the store. You can only change the store. The German Store is always in German. You can change to the U.S. store, but you can NEVER download / purchase anything from a different store than the one where you first got your Apple ID.
You could create a new Apple ID in the U.S. store, but that is only allowed WHILE YOU ARE LOCATED IN THE U.S. This is the most annoying limitation of the Apple ID and flies in the face of Apple's attempt to present a globe-trotter image for their customers.

You need to download the app Ukelele from

It includes a set of system keyboard layouts and their flags in the form of .icns files.
You first uncheck the box for Russian in system prefs/language & text/input sources, then put the .keylayout file from the Ukelele set and your own .icns file in Home/Library/Keyboard Layouts. Then logout/login and go to system prefs/language & text/input sources and check the box for the newly added Russian layout.

CPUFreq gnome applet doesn't work.

Hi, i have a problem with CPUFreq gnome applet.
I'm following this instruction: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … n.27t_work and frequency scaling still not working, but I can change this manually (cpufreq-set). When i run startx as root this works pretty good.

You've forgotten cpufreq in your daemons array:

How can I change the language on the editor with "alt + shift"?

Hi,
I created a java JApplet, with a JTextPane inside.
I want the user to be able to change the language using the
combination keys "alt + shift",
but when I'm pressing ALT I'm loosing the focus (to the browser),
so it's not working.
When I'm holding the ALT key, and than pressing the Shift key twice!, It is working.
How can I fix it so it will work with regular "alt + shift"?

Hello! I have a storm2 9550 model. Can I change a language to Russian thru a blackberry desktop manager?

You must have an OS installed on your 9550 which includes Russian.
You need to find and install to your PC an OS file with "all languages" in the filename.
Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below for the download, and follow these simple installation instructions.
First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.

Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." (You might have another Vendor.xml file hiding on your computer. Open Windows Explorer and under the Organize button (on Windows 7, there are similar tools for Vista and XP) click on "Folder and search options." Under the View tab, make sure that your computer is set to show hidden folders and files. Once you've done this, search your C:\ drive for "Vendor.xml".)
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

If you bought the app in French then you will have to buy it again choosing the Dutch version, if a Dutch version is available. I'm afraid neither iTunes nor the App Store is specific about the language of their products. If the product title is in French it's assumed that the product is in French. They don't bother mentioning whether other languages are available or not . I live in France and I cannot buy English films in English from iTunes You may be interested in this post :
