Gnome-Bluetooth doesn't work after Gnome 2.28 update.

It seems that gnome-bluetooth package is broken.
Before the update I have started bluetooth by Fn+F5. Now when the bluetooth is on the output looks like this
[szelek@IBM ~]$ bluetooth-applet

The button says: Turn Bluetooth On.
Bluetooth-preferences looks all the time the same. I can click on this button, it becomes grayed out (unavailable) but nothing happens afterwards.
I tried running bluetooth-wizard but it says that bluetooth is off even though it supposed to be turned on.
Maybe there are some problems with bluez configs after the update? Well I hope that someone have a solution for this one

I have a similar problem: I do not use bluez-gnome, just bluez and blueman, but after the dbus update I get this error in /var/log/errors.log:

Bluetooth has stopped working after E90 firmware update.

    Hi hanzzi
No information as to what device you are using, but try deleting E:\CITIES + .qf file from memory card then restart OVI Maps application to re-define folder structure required to download regional mapping using OVI Suite.

  • Bluetooth doesn't work after sleep mode wake up

Okay, so my computer goes to sleep while in Windows XP and I wake is up. I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard hooked up to it and I try to wake them up. My mouse doesn't reconnect. I notice that my computer also says that it's not connected to my wireless network, but the my web browser and messenger still connect fine. I check my bluetooth preferences to find out that nothing is connected and when I try to reconnect it doesn't work. This never used to happen and it just recently started when I reinstalled windows this past week. The only way I could get the devices to reconnect was to reboot and even then when my computer goes back to sleep they still disconnect.
Anyone else have this problem... or better yet, an answer?

How did you actually solve your problem ?
I have this too on a macbook 2.4.

  • Bluetooth keyboard not working after 10.7.2 update

Just got around to installing the 10.7.2 update this morning, and afterwards could not connect my Apple bluetooth keyboard. I've also had some difficulty with my Apple mightymouse (yes, it's old, but I love it). I tried restarting with the keyboard and mouse off and trying to re-connect using the Bluetooth preferences, both SMC reset and PRAM reset, repairing disk permissions, and all of the suggestions on this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16377827#16377827
So far nothing has worked. My mouse began working again after the initial restart with both bluetooth devices off, but the keyboard isn't being detected in either the Keyboard setup or the Bluetooth setup assistance. The keyboard, however, was detected by my iPad, and was working with this computer before the update. I've made sure that the bluetooth on my iPad is off so as not to confuse it, and it's still not working.

Well, I found a solution. After removing the bluetooth preferences as directed in this article (which didn't help me, but might somoeone else): http://ismashphone.com/2011/08/how-to-fix-bluetooth-pairing-in-mac-os-x-lion-iss ues.html
There was a software update that fixed this. Thank goodness. So if like me you're just getting around to doing the update, after the big 10.7.2 one, check software update again. I assumed it would be all rolled in to the same update, but that was not the case.

  • Safari doesn't work after iOS 8.3 update

After the iOS 8.3 update, Safari is completely useless. I am unable to open any URLs or search. Nothing happens when I type and return in the search bar. Sometimes even the go button doesn't highlight/activate.
I tried removing cache and disabling iCloud, but nothing worked.
    Does anyone have a solution?

Replying to my own message.   I actually looked at the device logs again there is a bunch of mobile safari issues.   Most of which apple would have to symbolicate against their source to figure out the actual bug.
Looks like some deadlock issues, which explains what I am seeing.

  • IPhone doesn't work after 1.1.3 update

I installed the iPhone 1.1.3 update two nights ago. After installing I had no phone service, wi-fi or bluetooth. Everything else on the phone seemed to be working. Connecting to iTunes resulted in an error saying the phone may be damaged and I should take it to an Apple store.
The guy at the Apple store reset or restored the phone. Now the screen just shows the USB pointing to an iTunes logo and the phone does nothing anymore - almost like it needs to be reactivated. And connecting to iTunes gives the same message that it's damaged.

Just adding in that the same thing just happened to me and so my phone is out of action until this is solved. I reset the phone and tried to restore within iTunes, but the phone just goes into recovery mode and I get an error message in iTunes.

  • Touch ID doesn't work after iOS 7.1 Update

After installing iOS 7.1 Touch ID stopped working. When I put my finger on the sensor nothing happens.
I already tried rebooting and switching Touch ID on and off. None of that seemed to work. Is there anyone else experiencing similar problems?
Update: Right now I'm trying to set up a new fingerbrint but it doesnt even start scanning when I put my finger on. It just doesnt do anything. I have a feeling that the sensor might be broken...

Same problem, after upgrading to 7.1 touch ID stopped working and will not let me enter new fingers, acts like I am not touching the sensor.
    Additional info:
The company I work for requires passwords to be on to access mail, when I am at work I will try deleting that mail account and turning off password requirements. It is an Microsoft Exchange mail server.
    Additional info2:
In Xcode there are no messages in the console for the iPhone that are related. Unrelated messages do pop up confirming the log is active.
Is there a setting I can make to turn on more logging?

  • Printing doesn't work after 10.1.3 update...

We did a deployment with System Center 2010 and the majority of our workers cannot print from the reader.
The solution for now is deleting their profile. As you might imagine it's not a great solution.
We didn't had any issues with the 10.1.2 but now we do... you say the printing issue is fixed but for us the printing issue just started after 10.1.3.
Anyone found out which file \ configuration \ registry key is making this happen? We tried deleting the adobe reader folders inside the user profile but didn't solve the issue.
    Thanks.

Any update to this?  I have the same issue with 10.1.4.  If I disable protected mode it works.
Also other users on the same machine can print the same PDF with protected mode on.

  • Safari 3.1 doesn't work after Firmware 1.5 update

Hi. After downloading the Firmware 1.5 update, I can't use Safari 3.1 anymore. I am able to connect on-line (e.g., I can search successfully for updates), but I cannot web-browse. I reloaded my ISP software, and that is not the problem. I also have cleared the cache on Safari and that didn't help either. Please help. Thank you!

If you were actually right don't you think that Apple would put a proviso on every software update to repair permissions before and after install in their release note? Or perhaps even automate the process for OSX user as part of install process?
Do you Verify your disk occasionally? Apple could automate that as part of chron scripts, but they don't. In fact, the chron scripts themselves only run if you leave your machine active overnight. There are plenty of things that Apple could do, but doesn't. Why? Only they know.
But, the OP has an app that is not opening, and DU help states: "If you have trouble opening applications or documents, or if your computer is running slowly, the user permissions for some of your files may be set incorrectly. Permission problems sometimes happen after you update your system or install new software. With Disk Utility, you can repair these problems."
    Ewen wrote:
That's another matter, but you didn't actually suggest it first in topic. OP can easily test this by Verify permissions. Repair permissions probably won't hurt but I'd hate for a Mac user to start performing a troubleshooting step with little or no logical reasoning behind it.
No, why would I? S.U. suggested it, and the OP asked how to do it.
    Ewen wrote:
so if you answer every question with this as a suggested course of advice you will be right some of the time, but not all of the time.
Yes, and we all know a broken analog clock is accurate twice per day. But I don't advise this all of the time, most of the time, or even some of the time. Rarely would probably be the best descriptor.
    Ewen wrote:
I think its just a waste of time unless actually a permissions issue may be present. Permissions issues do crop up (and may explain OP issue) so if you answer every question with this as a suggested course of advice you will be right some of the time, but not all of the time.
I would argue that Verify Permissions is a waste of time, since if incorrect permissions are found, the next step is to Repair Permissions, right? So why not just Repair? You imply that somehow that Repair Permissions step will have negative consequences. What is your evidence for that?
    Ewen wrote:
I think its just a waste of time
If the only negative consequence to Repair Permissions is that it's "a waste of time," honestly, what's the harm? I think that anyone who has followed this thread down to this point now has a very good understanding of what "waste of time" really means!

  • Scanner hp c4200 doesn't work after 10.5.3 update

    Hello,
Since 10.5.3 update when i launch "hp scan pro" i got the message "Error, scanner not found".
When i login "installation hp assistant" is launching and ask me to select a device, but the list is empty.
No message on Applications/Utilities/Console.app about the problem.
On system preferences, printer is ok.
    I can print as before.
    Thank you for answers.

I was having a similar problem with my HP Officejet 6310xi. Scanning worked fine from my 10.4 machine but the software on 10.5 wouldn't find the scanner. Went back and downloaded the driver again from HP and installed it - all 200+MB. Now the scanner works. I denied all the firewall requests and it still seems to work.

  • Boot Camp/Windows XP Pro doesn't work after 10.5.8 Update

I installed the 10.5.8 update, but then Windows would not boot up under Boot Camp. Anyone else have this problem? I tried several times and even went into Safe Mode to see if I could fix anything. Unfortunately, I'm not a Windows expert, so I really didn't know what to do in Safe Mode.
In the end, I reinstalled Windows via the Boot Camp Assistant and so far, everything works again. I only use 3 programs in Windows so luckily, I didn't lose anything. I just copied my data files over in MacOS and reinstalled the 3 programs in Windows, but it was a time waster! Please fix this Apple!
Just a warning to other Boot Camp users...
