Gnome menu has no applications

So, the gnome menu has no applications. I've never had this problem before.

Gnome menu export

Hi there.
Is there a way to export the whole cotntents of the gnome menu to a file or something? Because I would like to use a proper, autogenerated menu in pekwm as a fallback, when I was too lazy to add the right application.

Try menumaker in extra. It has support for pekwm.

My apple menu has disappeared

This is incredibly frustrating.
I am absolutely not in full screen mode, my problem is not related to any applications, or Safari, or any of that nonsense. When I logged in to my account it seemed as if everything was zoomed in, my Macintosh HD icon on the desktop was halfway off the screen, I cannot see the bottom of my dock, my browser was enlarged not zoomed in, and my apple menu has completely disappeared. I would've talked to apple support directly, however I need a serial number and to access that I would need my apple menu. It's not exactly hindering my use but I am OCD and it's driving me completely bonkers.
Someone please rescue me,

[SOLVED] Rubyripper icon not displaying in Gnome menu

Hi.
The Rubyripper icon doesn't show up in my applications menu (Gnome). The .desktop file reads
[jm@elroy ~]$ cat /usr/share/applications/rubyripper.desktop | grep Icon
Icon=rubyripper
And the icon is present in my filesystem
[jm@elroy ~]$ find /usr/share/icons/ -name rubyripper.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/rubyripper.png
What can I do?

The icons for the gnome menu have to be located in /usr/share/pixmaps I guess, check if a rubyripper.* icon is present there. If not, copy an icon into that folder [name: rubyripper(.png | .xpm | .svg ...)]
If present, maybe the icon cache should be updated. Try
gtk-update-icon-cache
or
gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/{your icon theme}
to force an overwrite; with root privileges. (I guess your theme is hicolor.)
I missed some icons too, but I did never mind. One day, they occured... so if nothing helps, wait ^^

Can't start GParted from gnome-menu

Hi, I have a problem with GParted.
I know that it worked fine some weeks ago.
But now it doesn't start from the gnome-menu.
The strange thing is: if I copy the same command as in the menu ('gksu /usr/sbin/gparted %f') in the terminal Gparted starts.
Maybe this problem is since the sudo or a gparted upgrade.
What could be wrong?

In my Xfce4 installation, it's /usr/share/applications/GParted, which I copied over to ~/.local/share/applications/, as kaixi suggested, and it appeared there as gparted.desktop. Right-click for Properties > Launcher > Command, and in that field (not wanting to install gksu) I put sudo gparted, which works, thanks.

HH3 menu has changed

Have just got back from holiday to find that the advanced settings menu has disappeared.
How do I get it back if at all.
When I enter password I end up with the limited basic settings menu

Gnome - Disabling gnome-menu icons

Hi all,
Seems that this is an old subject, as I've read throughout several posts on the net.
I want to disable the gnome-menu icons, completely, keeping the menus like the System one, which, by default, has no icons (what's the logic of that, btw?)
Gconf-editor has an option to enable/disable ONLY the icons under System (again, what is the logic?)
gconf-editor >desktop>interface>menus_have_icons
Seems that previous versions of Gnome allowed for the hiding/disabiling of all icons on the gnome-menu, which was nice behaviour - letting the user decide if they should show up or not.
Question: Is there a way to disable the icons?

i don't see anything wrong with that image. that's how the apps should look from know own since its using the new menu thingy from gnome-shell.

GNOME Menu - Openbox Menu

I'm trying to switch to Openbox from GNOME (yay) and used `mmaker -vf OpenBox3` to generate a menu. Except, it's a mess with tons of things I'd never use.
So my question, is it possible to convert GNOME menu entries to Openbox menu entries?

mmaker -vf OpenBox3
has pretty much done just that.
The easiest thing to do is open .config/openbox/menu.xml in an editor and remove all the entries that you don't want.
The beauty of OB is you can make it do just about anything...

JDS and Gnome start, but all applications become fixed in upper left hand

Problem:
Java Desktop and Gnome start, but all applications are fixed in the upper left hand corner and become stacked on top of each other.
Multi-panel JDS does not start up, and I am forced into one window, which makes the above problem critical.
Conditions: New installation (not an upgrade) I experienced this problem. Attempted to connect from SGD. Using the following command

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

After Problem Encountered I did the following:
Insured all X, DT, and OPENWIN bins were in my path.
Cleaned out the /var/tmp directory
Cleared out the user directory except for the .dtprofile with the Sessionlog commented out, and the .profile.
Rebooted the united and tried again.
All .dt and JDS .directories are rebuilt, and the welcome to JDS comes up.
The following is from the log files located in the .dt directory.

Your main problem is that the JDS window manager (metacity) isn't starting up, because it thinks there is already another window manager running on that display:

I obviously don't know if there really is or not (I'm guessing not, if all the windows are stuck in the top left of the screen), but running "metacity --replace &" in a terminal should force it to start up.
The gnome-settings-daemon warning is annoying, but non-fatal. It will usually just cause some icons and fonts to look incorrect. You can try running "/usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon" again manually in a terminal, which will sometimes clear it up straight away. If not, I see you attempted to clean up some things in the home directory manually, but running "/usr/bin/gnome-cleanup" in a terminal (while not logged into JDS) might be a better thing to try.

Remeber winXP? And that little pop-up menu that could be used to browse trought directories (folders). I used it to browse my music folder.
This plugin is about the same. And it is cool, nice addon for gnome panel.
I dont have a clue about pkgbuilds...
Tried to do this one but wiki page confused me... that part with cmake and stuff...

All those files seem to have is application names. What specific file did you use to edit the menus?

is there a way to change item text on menu bar and application toolbar eg in business partner overview(T-Code fmcacov) i want to change text 'Business Partner" to "tax Payer" on both menu bar an application toolbar. i have tried the norma way of going to change the screen but when i am on the GUI status its not going to change mode even sfter entering the access key

Open the program and click on GOTO=>ATTRIBUTES.
Change the text to the heading which you want.
SAVE & ACTIVATE.
Regarding opening in change mode, the steps you have carried out are correct.
You need to comment the existing gui-status by placing cursor on that line & click delete.
Then click on INsert button and add new gui-status.

Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resources window then I have to refresh the internet search address line at the top of Safari. Can someone tell me how to stop this. It started after a software upgrade. It didn’t do that before. Thank you.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

Menu has 19 items...and it is not allowed???

So i have 17 videos on a menu page plus Main Menu and Play all
Adobe throws a error saying it only allows 18 items on a page
So i am thinking making another additional page before it ...a page that has three buttons Play all go to 17 videos main menu
Then take out play all from the page with 19 items leaving me with 18 items
I am wondering if i am cutting it too close and maybe make another page on that has videos 1-10 and another that has 11-17?
Along this same line each of the videos are from 2:30 seconds to 4:30 for an hour total tme
Would it be better to lay these short videos all on one timeline or make a separate one for each?
The reason i ask is that each video has a 5 second title page ( quiet no sound ) and i am thinking of using the play all to start at the
place where each audio starts instead of the beginning where the quiet title starts.
Not sure yet on how to do this from user experience. The are meditation videos so the quiet might not be bad in between
Any input on this is welcomed :-)

Workaround
Maintenance Transmission Screen 을 Open하여 해당 lockbox process 를 조회 하고 Application Button을 눌러 Invoice Filed 를 Clear 한 후 다시 해당 Process 를 수행한다.

described on the paper refers to the BW version 3.0 and we need the
solution for the BW version 7.0. The technical content described on the
paper, version 3.0, is very different from the content of the version
7.0, used by us. Is this feature available for the version 7.0?
