Gnome Power Off menu not triggering any action

After a couple of hibernation / restoration processes the Power Off menu suddenly starts to no longer work correctly.
Regardless which of the options I choose, be it Suspend / Hibernate / Shutdown, no action is executed.
Sometimes this problem occurs after 2 hibernation restores, sometimes after 3 etc. I cannot really trigger down the problem. The logs do not show any error.
Does someone notice the same effect?

gnome 3.8 can use gdm(screen saver is integrated into it) or xscreensaver. You will need either one of them.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Try to reset the device (try it even though as you said the power button (or sleep/wake switch) is not functioning)
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
If the switch is indeed physically bad, you can get by in the meantime (or until you can get it evaluated/fixed) by using the the AssistiveTouch panel (this floats a virtual button on the screen that you can use to access various funtions of the iPad, one of them being the sleep/wake switch). I use this all the time, even though my buttons are just fine (cuts down on wear/tear on the physical buttons).
AssitiveTouch: Settings>General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch (set to ON)

Mine quits working every now and then.
Most of the time I can fix it by doing a power button, home button reset. When that doesn't work plugging it into my computer does.
What have you tried?
Also I believe it is a software problem not hardware. So I would suggest not replacing it until you can get your hands on the "iOS 5.1" update. That is what I am waiting on before I calling Apple and/or ATT and raising the roof with someone over this issue.

Since we upgraded my husband's 4s to ios 6.0 the "slide to power off" does not appear when he tries to power his iphone 4s off.

thats a bad case most iPhone 5 have this issue the power button is a glitch thats why they stopped selling it.
If you would like better performance use assistive touch on the settings.

Pause/Power Off function not working..

I received my new 60GB Video Ipod yesterday. However the puase button does not work when listening to music or watching a video.
Also to power it off I have to use menu, then ensure no music is playing, switch to hold then it powers off itself after a few minutes. Holding the pause.play button does not power off the unit.
I have tried loading the latest firmware and that does not fix.
Is this a faulty ipod????

It isn't one of the problems associated with the 1.1 updater.
Try resetting your iPod and then call Apple for repairs/replacement.
Reset your iPod.
1) Slide the lock button to ON.
2) Slide the lock button to OFF.
3) Press 'menu' and 'centre' button together for several seconds.

My power off is not working correctly on my iphone 5

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

When you say, "tested" your Template in FireFox, did you cast a child page from the Template or just try to see the Template in FireFox?
Templates do not customarily show well on their own in Browsers; their child pages should be fine.
I see that one of your CSS files is using a local link to your hard drive. You will want to fix that. It may be that saving the Template again will update your child page.
Other than that, make sure ALL the auxiliary files are uploaded to your server. If the menubar works locally but not remotely, it is usually because the files are not there for the page to find them.
If you have a URL to your site, we can look at the files as they attempt to work with each other.

IPad Lock/ Power Off button not locking screen. Please help!

I have an iPad 2 and suddenly the screen doesn't lock anymore whenever I press the Power Off/ Lock Screen button

Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

I can view my free hotmail, but I can not take any action on the mail. I can't open or delete anything.

The email screen is locked up. I can not activate any of the icons. I can not open, delete mail.
I can not view folders. there is no reaction to the mouse.
If I put the mouse over an icon the choices activate but nothing happens.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
 To Enable SafeMode

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Since I upgraded my 5c to iOS 7.1.1 my apps randomly stop working. The only way to get them to work is to power off and on. Any suggestions?

Double-press the HOME button. Then flick each screen image up to terminate the application and free up its memory. When all apps have been killed. reset the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears.
