Gnome Screen Lock Shows Random Leaf Background (How to Change?)

When I lock the screen in Gnome, with alt+ctrl+L, or when it locks on suspend, I get a leaf image background behind the dialogue for unlocking the screen. I have the screensaver set to just blank the screen and I don't even see a leaf background in the screensaver options. I guess maybe this is the default root desktop image? How do I change it? Thanks.

Okay, nevermind, I found two more threads on this:

The trick is to change:
/usr/share/pixmaps/backgrounds/gnome/background-default.jpg
In my defense, I have to say whenever I search using the forum search mechanism, the results aren't very relevant. But then I did a google search (not even specifically on the Arch forums or mentioning Arch) and got relevant Arch threads right away.
You can also change it in /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/%gconf-tree.xml with the ability to choose the background style zoom, centered etc. After changes has been made to %gconf-tree.xml you must logout and login again for the changes to take effect.

  • My lock screen just shows a black background and a User Name/Password dialog after opening the screen from sleep. How do I get it back to where it blurs my desktop image with the dialog and my account image displayed?

I'm not sure when it began, but now my Macbook Air only shows a black background and a User Name and Password dialog box when I wake it from sleep. It used to show my desktop background blurred with my user name and icon displayed with only a text field for entering my password. I'm currently using Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and all updates have been done. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance since I couldn't find how to change it back in the System Preferences.

I just have to point out that after looking at a related post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22661092#22661092), it brought to memory that my issue most certainly began happening after I added some DoD certificates to the keychain. This obviously has something to do with it, but it still leaves me wondering what actually causes this to happen. :/

  • My iphone screen locked i forget my password how to open my iphone 4s

my iphone screen is locked i am forgot password how to open my phone please help me

    Hello BobyJacob,
It sounds like the passcode is forgotten and you cannot get into your iPad. You can use the following article to help reset that passcode:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.
If you have not synced your device to iTunes there is a section in the article for that as well.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Mountain Lion login screen background, how to change it?

I've upgraded today, and while all other customizations still work just fine with Lion Designer 3 (updated), the login background is the only one that just won't work, not even manually. I'm stuck (again, as it was after the last Lion update) with the Apple Linen image, duh. Anyone who's already figured out how to change it? I know Lion Designer will probably be updated about this, just wondering if I can avoid waiting! Thanks a lot!

Thats what the loginox app did to me. I did not do the manual way. If needed, I dont if I can, but it might be possible for me to insert a video showing that.
The loginox app failed to change my background.

That's what the manual way did for me too. As said in my last comment, you need to use the Loginox app instead. You can download it here: http://www.loginox.branox.com

  • GNOME Screen Lock

Very simple, I dislike the automatic screen lock in GNOME. However, when I go to Settings > Privacy the Screen Lock option is grayed out, I'm not allowed to change it. I've tried editing the gdm/custom.conf to start under the users group, and when that didn't work, under my login name. No dice. So, does somebody have a simple fix?

I installed gnome, gnome-extra and gdm. It works for me.

  • [Solved] Change default leaf background when unlocking screen in Gnome

This is kinda silly, but how do I change the default desktop background when unlocking screen in gnome?, its always that annoying green leaf background, how can I make it my wallpaper instead?

See the Gnome_Tips wiki article which contains the answer to this and other questions
    Change the Default Background Image
The default background is that zoomed in picture of a green leaf. It appears for newly created users, but more importantly, this is the image shown when the screen is locked. As of 25-Apr-2009, you can find this image here
    /usr/share/pixmaps/backgrounds/gnome/background-default.jpg
To change it, simply copy your favorite image to this locate (as root) and rename it.

  • I don't know my screen lock code!!

Hello. I am totally new to iPod. So I hardly know what to do. I was fooling around with my iPod one day, then I accidentally screen locked my iPod. It began to vibrate a little after I locked it,but when I turned my iPod off and on again, the screen lock was on!! How do I figure out my code?

Try this, connect the iPod to the main computer you use it with (if you use it with more than one, this is the first one it was connected to) and open iTunes. Then disconnect iPod from the computer, it should be unlocked: iPod: How to use the Screen Lock
If you can't get it unlocked you'll need to restore it. Just be aware that restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings, so if you have songs on your iPod that aren't on iTunes you will lose them if you have no back up. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings with iTunes 7

  • Screen resolution too high - text is tiny - how to change?

I'm a newbie to Audition, and spent 2.5 hours this weekend editing a 6.5 minute talk. Ended up with a massive headache, largely because of the small size of the text in the screen menues, etc.
Anyone know how to change these? I Use a MS Surface 3 pro with very high resolution (21160*1440)  with a 22" screen set at 1680 *1050 (max for the screen) .
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You don't mention which version of Audition you are using, but support for High DPI displays was added to Audition and other Adobe applications last year.  This adds support for icon and text scaling, which is configured at the OS level.  Found a good overview and write-up about this at How to Make the Windows Desktop Work Well on High-DPI Displays and Fix Blurry Fonts but the quick-and-dirty method is to right-click on your Windows desktop and choose Screen Resolution then click on the item Make text and other items larger or smaller.  There, you can select scaling at 125% and 150%.  You'll probably need to log back into your Windows account for the change to take effect.

I made a test in our testing enviroment, found that when this problem occures,
Sign Out current user and login again would be helpful to resolve this problem. Please take this method as a workaround temporarilly.

    Hi,
As I know there is no out of box solution to change builder theme.
Probably safest way is change css files in HTTP server /i/css
But I would not bother to do it
Have you think set instance messages?
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/admin.40/e15521/adm_mg_service_set.htm#sthref361
You can write HTML there also and add e.g. some images.
Or if you use Firefox, you can write some client side greasemonkey script to alter look of builder.
