Gnome Topicons changing icon size
Hello,
I am using the extension topicons to display tray icons in the top panel.
Yet the size of the icons is too big for my taste. Can they be reduced?
They could. It would be pretty simple if the extension made use of a CSS stylesheet as most gnome shell extensions do, but I'm seeing it doesn't have any. I just installed it for testing purposes, but did not even work.
Ask developer to implement a CSS: leave a comment on the site you just provided or look for developer's email, which should be written down in the metadata.json file inside the extension folder. You should be able to find that under ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions if you installed via website. Or ultimately, make your own stylesheet.css if you know the code internals (I really don't), and append it to the extension folder. It should not be very difficult since the main program (extension.js) is very short as it is now. Maybe someone else could help you write the css in less than a couple minutes.

Desktop icons are smaller than I prefer. I am sure that back in Panther I could use a slider to change icon size, change snap to grid options but cannot remember where it was. Does Leopard have user adjustable options for desktop icons?
Yes it does. You can control click on the Desktop and from the Contextual Menu select "Show View Options." There is a slider for both icon size and, new to Leopard, one for Grid Spacing as well. The option for Snap to Grid is in the "Arrange by" drop down menu. Don't get TOO carried away with the Grid Size slider, or you will start getting the names of things truncated. Another new thing in Leopard is that you can put your items anywhere you want them (with Snap to Grid turned off) and they will stay where you put them, and this includes the drive icons. Love that!

Gnome3: change icon size of favorite bar
hi,
i want to resize the icon size of the favorite bar in the gnome-shell but cant find the right position in one of the css files... I'm currently using a workaround where i changed the following in /usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/dash.js:
dash.js: //let iconSizes = [ 16, 22, 24, 32, 48, 64 ];
dash.js: let iconSizes = [ 16, 22, 24, 32, 48 ];
im pretty sure that there is a cleaner solution.
regards hennesivThank you, the-edmeister, as that too is what I needed. The default icon size of F.F. 14.0, are just plain to small. This really helped. :-)

I upgraded to OS X 10.9 from Mountain Lion. The icons on my dock (which I have on the right hand side of my screen) all became smaller with the upgrade. When I move the slider bar in dock settings (in system preferences) from small to large the icons do not change size as they did in Mountain Lion. Is this a bug in Mavericks or do I need to do something besides moving the slider bar from small to large? Thanks.

Change Icon Size on Desktop?
I've done something (but not sure what!) to change the size of the icons on my desktop (plug in USB drive, harddisk, etc icons) they are all tiny - barely as large as a single letter in the text underneath the icon. I cannot see any setting to adjust this size - can someone tell me where the setting is?
HI,
No problem.

Go to Solution.Your Nokia Lumia 900 was updated to 7.5 CR3 (Tango). The 7.8 update has not yet been released. It is still under development and destined for release later this year.
You can check your version number under Settings > About.
Hope this helps.

How can I change the size and spacing of desktop icons on the iPad Retina Display?
You can't. You cannot customize icon sizes like you can on a computer. You can use Zoom on Settings>General>Accessiblity>Zoom>On in order to enlarge everything on the screen, but that's probably not what you have in mind.

[SOLVED] Gnome 3.16: icon size not remembered
Every time I open a new "Files" instance from the Activities screen, the icon sizes default to "Medium", despite setting them to "Small" using Nautilus' setting slider.
Is there anyway to set the icon size globally to "Small" which sticks across new instances of Nautilus/Files being launched?
Last edited by sultanoswing (2015-04-12 06:28:05)When Nautilus is open, click on the top panel where it says "Files", then Preferences, and set the defaults.
I think it's another "by design" decision by the GNOME devs, just like the stupidly big "small" icons.

Change icon size in Lion Finder
In Lion, is there any way to increase the size of photos in the icon view in Finder? There used to be a slider allowing you to make the icons large enough to guess what they might be. I have not yet found any way to resize these icons--the pinch gesture does not work on them.

Gnome panel launcher icon size
Is there a way to make GNOME panel launcher icons smaller? (like in XFCE panels...)
Or, is there any other type of launcher that can be used?If you downsize the panel, the icons will be downsized too..
There is also the drawer applet, which can contain the icons... -
How to change icon size in iWorks media viewer
Hi
I have just upgraded my wife's macbook from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 and she uses pages a lot
The media viewer in pages seems to have just one size for the icons of the photos. You used to be able to drage a slider to increase the size
I have tried all the ctrl key type ideas but nothing
Why do they delete features that are d=so useful or hide them in non obvious palecs and make it hard for the less technical user.
I have been using pages since the first and a Apple since 1980 and support 500 machines - most using pages so I would appreciate any help.
Mountain Lion has made Pages a little less friendly

How to change icon size when uploading pics?
So I'm uploading pics to facebook, into an album where I'll put multiple pics. The problem is that when I click upload on facebook, and the "upload finder window" comes up, even though I choose icon as the view way, they are at the smallest size, and barely recognizeable.
Note that I'm not talking about a regular finder window. I know how to get those to come to the right size. I have already set my preferences in finder to show all icons at 128x128, but it doesnt seem to affect the browser upload finder... this problem shows up with all browsers too (safari, chrome, firefox)
I'm at my wit's end because I have to upload multiple pictures every two or 3 hours for work, and this is jsut ridiculous.auwoo wrote:
