GO PRO Footage not importing or playing

So I've just copied some Go Pro footage from my friends USB and FCPX will not import it. They are all .mov files
Quicktime won't play them either. It tries to convert them and then says this:
"To see if additional software is available that will enable QuickTime Player to open the movie, click Tell Me More."
Any help is greatly appreciated! I gotta use some of these clips for my documentary film class.

TThat's the Cineform codec. I think it was converted on the PC, probably to use in Premiere. You might see if MPEG Streamclip can open it.

Im running windows 7 64 bit. installed itunes 10.5.4.1 and now cds will not import or play. If i have the cd in the drive and then open itunes it will importor play but after removed the next disc will not read. the system has passed the cd/dvd test.

I ve tried completely removing itunes and reinstalling. also unchecked autocorrect and find art and track names which did not work as well. Any ideas of how to fix this?

Also dell has included a temp read in the dell support center. temp is 30 right now. Also listed was the max temp. in the pcs lifetime as 43.

Premiere pro will not import .mov files

Premiere pro CS3 running on Vista 64 bit will not import .mov files. After Effects CS4 has the same problem, it says I don't have the correct version of Quick Time installed. I'm using the 64 bit version 7.6.4 for Vista. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Now, what is inside that .MOV "wrapper?" This ARTICLE will give you some background on "wrappers." It is mainly written with .AVI in mind, but translates to most AV file formats, including .MOV.
Now, I use a lot of .MOV files and these are all done in the Animation CODEC. Never an issue for me.
One thing that might aid you is the US$30 upgrade/unlock key to QT Player Pro. It can Export as a bunch of useful formats/CODEC's. Depending on whether your footage is SD, or HD, you can Export most to formats that play perfectly with PrPro.

Pro cs3 not importing audio in avi files

ok it seems for some reason that my cs 3 is not importing audio in my avi files the video channel imports but no audio anyone know a reason why this is please

AVI is but a "wrapper." This ARTICLE will give you much more background, plus direct you on finding out what is inside that wrapper.
It might be as simple as a setting change, but conversion will likely be the path to take.

P2 footage not importing

We have Panasonic HVX200's and just received the 16gig p2 cards from the promotion. The cameras firmware has been updated.
On a G5 running OS 10.4.9, final cut studio 2, we can get the "no name" storage device to show up on the desktop, but we can't get the footage to import into FCP.
We did download and install the driver and view the tutorial available here:

We have firestores that have worked out perfectly, but we're apparently missing something when it comes to working with the 16gig P2 cards.

You are looking at a VERY outdated tutorial. It works for FCP 5.0.4 only...really. The P2 import on FCP 5.1 was different. And it changed AGAIN with FCP 6. (I gotta update it).
Now it is called...something else that I cannot recall because I don't even have FCP 6 yet.

Premiere Pro does not import any footage

Premiere Pro CS6 imports footage to the media browser, but with the image jumbled up. This happens regardless of format/codecs. Audio (including from footage) imports normally.

Ask in the Premiere forum. Sounds liek eitehr your graphics hardware acceleration is not working properly or you made a mess with your CoDecs. You need to provide exact technical info liek system specs and what footage you work with in any case.

Premiere Pro will not import a video I captured in Premiere.

I am working with Premiere Pro Cs6, on an HP laptop, with Windows 8. This is the first time I was capturing video from a Canon XL H1. When I finished capturing, Premiere did not give me any further prompts, and when I preceded to try to import the video I captured, it is telling me that "there was an error decompressing audio or video." IMovie will not import or play the clips at the proper speed and the audio and video do not match up.

i have a samsung hd camcorder. it records at 40 fps, but iMovie will not play the clips at the proper speed and the audio and video do not match up. I have tried to record at standard quality to no avail. Help. thanks in advance.

im guessing that is the speed it records at due to the fact imovie puts a blue 40 at the top left corner of every clip i import.

Prem Pro imports and edits the video sequence of a batch of wmv files recently referred to me for processing but does not show the audio at all. The files play perfectly in Windows media player. I presume there is a codec somewhere on my machines that wmplayer is using but how can I get Prem Pro to use it??? I don't usually use WMV but I have found some other wmv files which import nomally i.e. sound track included. Loading the files into Handbrake lists the audio for the successfully imported files as Source: English (wmav2) (2.0 ch) Codec: AAC (faac) Bitrate: 160. The files that Prem Pro does not import the sound for, list identically except that the source is shown as Unknown rather than English. All other details (wmav2 etc exactly the same.

PDF's not importing correctly

I am using CS5 on iMac 27" quad.
I am trying to import a PDF into Photoshop.
But it is not importing correctly.
The PDF is a label template, which prints perfectly from the PDF.
But when I import it into Photoshop, the dimensions change.
So the text boxes for the labels don't align up correctly to the label sheet.
The top label is OK, but the boxes keep moving to the right, so that top label in column 5 is a 1/4" off to the right. The labels seem to be "traveling."
Vertically, the same thing is happening.
Row #1 is OK
but by the end of the page, Row #5 is 3/8" off the page.
I have disabled all printing options: no auto-center; no fit to page; no scaling.
The printer software should not be adapting the document at all.

Premiere Pro CS6 not playing audio on imported MP4 files.

I am editing a series of MP4 clips shot with a Canon Vixia, and for some reason, Premiere Pro CS6 will not play the audio on a few of the imported files. All of the clips were videotaped with the same camera. I know that there is audio on the clips in question, because it works fine when they are opened in Windows Media Player. I have deleted and reimported the faulty files, to no avail. I noticed in the online discussions that several others have had this problem; but I haven't been ablet o find an online fix thus far. I would greatly appreciate advice on this!

I shoot fishing footage of big catches. Slow motion playback appears to me to be much better when shot it 60p even compared to 60i. It also blows away all of the other formats for a "still" grab. Thank you for your help as I did a search and downloaded Clip Wrap which converted the files to .mov and they actually do import the full 60 frames. Thank you again for your reply.
