Go pro hero 3 pluss

Hello i am fairly new to this, i have bought a Go Pro hero 3 pluss camera, and i have filmed in 1080p( max resolution) 4k? i have filmed on aprox 150 meter distance, and now i want to crop the movie and zoom in, first off adobe premier c6 doesnt alow me to import Mp4 files, i know i might have to convert the file, but in what program? and how? 2nd why is it that when you have cropped the film isnt as good as it was? i know the pixels, but i have seen ppl claiming they have used go pro to zoom in 1.5 km and it is crystal clear film. As you see i am pretty new to this so all awnser will be of good help.

The native GoPro video clips can be difficult to edit due to compression used, convert as Ann said, but note the new files will be much larger (yet easier to play/edit). The GoPro software also offers the option to fix the fisheye effect.
In order to crop/zoom in your footage and retain clarity, the Sequence size needs to be smaller than the video. For instance, edit a 1080p clip in a 720p sequence, and then you have "some room" to zoom in and keep the sharpness, since the original image is larger than the "canvas" that you are working on.

  • Why will video from go pro hero 3 not play back on ipad app?

I am having problems playing back videos on my iPad or iPhone from my Go Pro Hero 3 using the Go Pro app. Can anyone help with this please?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help try adding a new video to your Camera Roll. Perhaps the update process caused the problem. If a new video plays correctly then reload your older videos from your backup.

Premiere Elements 12 is no longer the current version of Premiere Elements. Premiere Elements 13 is. Probably Premiere Elements 12 is still in stock
at online vendors. Whether these online vendors accept "vouchers" is questionable.
You need to go by whatever the voucher says. It may be very specific for version 12 and be outdated at that. Is there an expiration date on the voucher.
Is there an installation disc included with the camera? If so, does it give a redemption code or serial number that you are supposed to use to install the
    program?
This is not Adobe. Rather a user to user forum.
My first impression is that you may have an outdated voucher. And, the details of that voucher need to be read carefully.
Please supply more information unless you opt to contact the seller of the camera for more details, especially if this "voucher" was a sales
incentive for the selling of the camera.

  • Need help with Go Pro Hero 3 and Premiere Pro CS6

    Hello,
I recently acquired PP CS6. I put my clip (30 seconds long) and I go to preview while editing, for the first 1.5 seconds it is fine but then it is very choppy. The audio is fine but the video does not play smoothly. When I save and process the video it is fine. It is frustrating to try to edit video this way. I'm sure I'm missing a step when creating the project but I haven't used Premiere Pro since CS6. This is only happening with Go Pro Hero 3 videos, any of my other cameras are fine. Any ideas? Thanks

There's a lot of confusion over how video encoding affects subsequent editing performance - a higher data rate has no direct relation to how much effort is required to decode and play the footage, in fact a higher data rate often makes playback easier - which is why transcoding to AVI can help with playback even though the files can be hundreds of times larger. Data rates with the same codec depend on the frame contents and recording quality, but for playback and editing what matters is the GOP (group-of-pictures) structure and the complexity of the encoding algorithm. Provided your disks are fast enough the data rate is immaterial to Premiere.
With long-GOP files (as typically created by consumer DSLRs and helmet cams) we have keyframes (I-frames) with a complete set of pixel data, then a series of intervening P- and B-frames which only store the difference between 'now' and 'one frame before' or 'one frame after'. Unless you're on an I-frame you have to calculate the chain of differences from the nearest I-frame, and when editing or applying an effect we must  re-calculate the entire GOP, so Premiere has to hold a lot of data in the buffer. Remember all timelines in Premiere are internally transcoded to 32-bit floating point, so it's more work to 'play' the footage in the monitors than would be done by a simple playback-only application such as VLC, or in some other brands of NLE that only work in the footage's color space. Premiere's hardware acceleration (MPE) only kicks in once the buffer has been ingested, all the decoding of the original H.264 frames happens in your CPU.
With digital cinema cameras and some hacked DSLRs, we record "all-I" footage - so there's no GOP overhead and playback/editing is massively smoother. I can scrub all-I footage from a hacked 7D no problem on my relatively-ancient spare laptop, but the  long-GOP files from a factory 7D struggle to play at all. Our all-I 7D footage can hit 300MBit/s compared to 35 for long-GOP. Helmet cams such as the GoPro do all they possibly can to squeeze data onto their storage cards, which means they have long-GOP codecs that have some of the most complicated compression algorithms out there. The Hero3's implementation of H.264 uses the Ambarella chip, whose files are very small but an utter nightmare to decode - hence far more of a demand on your CPU than an equivalent clip from a DSLR.
    Jim Simon wrote:
Might be the 35 Mbps that is causing the choppy playback.
It shouldn't, assuming sufficient hardware.  My GH2 clips often get up to over 90 Mb/s and play just fine on an older i7 920.

  • Go Pro Hero 3 Black edition files are unsupported?

This is the second time I imported some photos into my Aperture library from my Go Pro Hero 3 Black edition camera and I get a message that says my files which are in the JPEG format are not supported. It tells me that I need to download the photos to a location on my computer or hard drive first but the weird thing is that it WILL import into Aperture too. Its like its making me back them up to another location before it imports into Aperture. Why is this? Is there something I can do to just make the files supported?

  • How do i import video from my go pro to i movies

How do I import video from my go pro hero 4 to I movies

What model MacBook Pro do you have? On my late 2011, I used to use a Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter to get video and audio from my Mac to my television. I used this adapter from Monoprice. Worked great - I just no longer use it because I bought a 27" monitor.
You can also use AirPlay mirroring if you've the right MBP and an Apple TV - but the wired method works, too.

  • Problem exporting Go Pro video, footage zoomed in

    Hey ya'll.
I've done a lot of searching over the net to look at how to fix this problem and I've had no luck. I've made a montage video using a Go Pro Hero and when I go to export it the image is cropped/zoomed in. It looks perfect in the preview window though. I'm pretty inexperienced with Premiere; all I really know is that the sequence is in widescreen. I would really appreciate some help, if you need to know more project details just ask me/tell me how to find them out and I can do that.
    Thanks!

Once you've created a sequence you can't change the settings.
The simplest way to make a sequence that matches a source clip is to drag the clip to the New Item icon at the bottom of the project window - it'll make a new sequence that matches the clip, and automatically add it, though you can of course remove the clip again to leave you with an empty sequence.

If these don't match and I've already created the sequence, is it to late to fix things or do I have to start over? If it is too late, would somebody please explain how to set up a sequence with with matching sequence/source footage dimension settings? How do I figure out my source settings?

  • Go Pro MP4 to .mov for FCE HD 4.0.5

I am downloading from a Go Pro Hero 3 camera which produces MP4 files. From the card, I have been converting selected MP4 files to .mov files usng MPEG Stream Clip. Laborious but it works. First question: What are the other files showing on the Go Pro card (.LRV and .THM) Second question how can I batch capture or more quickly capture the MP4 files so they get converted to .mov files? I want to use these converted files in FCE HD 4.0.5. I did try batch capturing half a dozen MP4 files which took them all as one master clip which I could then put int the timeline and create subclips. The name of the master clip was the names of the first one.
    Any help - much appreciated
    James

What format are you using in the GoPro?
The H3 allows the use of ProTune / Raw which does not guess at the white balance-it just records what the sensor is generating.
Usually I record material in the ProTune format (most often 1080p24) then use the GoPro Cineform Studio to convert it to an all I frame format and to do an initial color adjustment.
Once converted, you can use Mpeg streamclip to convert it to AIC for editing in Express.
    Have fun.

  • More about Go Pro Hero3

    Thanks a lot,
I see... but will the Mac OS X 10.6.8 recognize the  Go pro Hero 3 device (and their files) so Final Cut convert them to Quick Time files as usually does with XMF files, for example? Does Go Pro Hero 3 works in H264 code?
    Regards
    Pedro

Will the OS see the camera? Yes.  Will FCP convert the files like it does with P2 and other formats via Log and Transfer? No.  You need to use Compressor or MPEG STREAMCLIP to convert the files to ProRes. And yes, the camera records H.264 MP4.

  • Customer service regarding credit card mishandling possible credit fraud

    To whom it may concern,
On Tue morning I placed a order for a sprint prepaid galaxy s3 and a go pro hero package through the early black friday preview deal.  I had both items in my cart and checked out the go pro package with promo code.  I then immediatley went back into my shopping cart and proceed to put in my galaxy promo code and the item was not longer available and sold out.  I then called customer service to see about why this was removed from my cart and how I could order one.  I was told that item was sold out and nothing could be done.
I then relealized in the confusion that I entered the wrong credit card in the system and wanted to change the form of payment to the correct card.  I was told that they will take my credit card information and I gave the CR rep my credit card and was put on hold.  I then was taken off hold and another CR rep was on the line and I started the whole process again giving my credit card information waiting for an authorization from her, which she gave me. (This whole process took approx 45 min by the way).
I then get to work and decide to check the status of my order at best buy and I am suprised to see my initial credit card info was used to process the order, not the new credit card that was given and told authorized.
I call CR again and the order was checked on on they said that the payment was authorized for the intial credit card and basically there is nothing I can do to change it.  I tell my story to the CR and she sees that I did request my credit card payment to be changed but can do nothing for me not even cancel the order and reissue it with my proper CC number.
I ask to speak to a supervisor Angela and she again tells me their is nothing can be done with my order is being processed and by the original credit card was used as authorized.
My major concern at this point is who did I give my credit card # twice too.  She tells me the agent I was speaking with and I demanded that we get connected with this agent to see what happened with my CC info.  She informs me that this can not happen.  I ask what as a supervisor is going to be done.  She offers no remedy for the multiply issues I was having.  I had to tell her that I would like to escalate this issue, she then said she can issue a ticket # 148428368.  I then ask for the call to be reviewed and I would like a transcript of the conversations I had with the CR rep and how it effects my credit card security.  I am posting this so this get rectified and more people are aware of the dangers your company practices of handling credit card numbers to the CR reps.  I feel this situation could of been handled much differently and want to hear a solution to my issues.
    Concered Customer,

    Hi wildwest99,
I sincerely apologize if this phone agent didn’t handle your request to change your payment source as you expected them to. It sounds like they tried to change the payment source, thought it went through, but obviously it didn’t change.
We would never give a copy of our recordings to a customer but we would cooperate fully with any ongoing police investigation. Has this second credit card been used without your authorization? If so, you need to contact the local authorities in order for them to open an investigation.
I can say that many calls are reviewed and if this agent didn’t act appropriately action will be taken. This action will of course will be treated internally. Other than providing you a transcript of this call, or sharing if any action is taken in regards to this agent, is there anything specific you would ask of me?
    Thanks for posting,

  • Adobe premiere elements 11 not responding.

Adobe premiere elements 11 says, "not responding" and asks me if I want to close the program. I have done this multiple times and nothing has worked. I am getting very frustrated and am not impressed by this program. What can I do to fix it?

    hunttofilmt
Here is what I was like you to look at and determine if this workflow behaves any differently than the one that you are using now. I am assuming that you are having similar problems with Go Pro Hero 3's 960p @ 48 progressive frames per second and with the Canon's 1080p @ 24 progressive frames per second.
Let us confine these initial tests to the Canon 1080p24, for now to avoid any complications of editing 960p48 in Premiere Elements.
    1. Open Premiere Elements 11 and go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset to
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p24
    or
    PAL
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p24
depending on whether you have a NTSC or PAL install for your Premiere Elements 11.
Before you exit the new project dialog, be sure to put a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings on this Project.
    2. Import your 1080p24 into the project using Add Media/Files and Folder/Project Assets.
    3. In Project Assets, double click the file there to open the Preview Window and proceed to trim your video.
Here is a description of the process from my blog post. Please cross check what you are doing with the steps that I used in the blog post demo.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/06/pe11-project-assets-organization-for.html
If that is not successful, then stop and let us know.
If that is successful, then let us look at the 960p48...there is an atypical format for Premiere Elements. Here we are going to set the project preset manually as in the case with the Canon, but here we are going to use the project preset of:
    NTSC
    DV
    Standard
    or
    PAL
    DV
    Standard
depending on whether you have a NTSC or PAL install for your Premiere Elements 11.
Before you exit the new project dialog, be sure to have a check mark next to Force Selected Project Setting for this Project.
Then continue with the import and trimming of the video in the Preview Window as you did with the 1080p24 footage.
    Looking forward to your results.
    Thanks.
    ATR
Add On....By the way, how is your external hard drive formatted NTFS or FAT32? Depending on the results from the above mini tests, please look at importing/trimming one of your 1080p24 in the 1080p24 project but import the 1080p24 from a computer desktop save location instead of the external hard drive.
