"Go to" commands (in Waveform view)?

Does Audition (CC v6) have any "go to" commands, e.g., to move to a specific time or a specific marker number?
I've checked the Adobe Audition CC Help document and searched the forum but can find no reference to such a navigation command.

Why is the Peak Amplitude different in the Multitrack & Waveform View?

Hi all,
I'm trying to understand why levels are different in the Multitrack and Waveform view. Everything is louder in Multitrack view, is there a reason for this?

You're likely experiencing the default Pan Law multitrack setting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_law
You can adjust this for this particular session, and/or change the preference to affect all future sessions.
For your session, open the Properties panel and expand the Mixing section. et the Panning mode to Left/Right Cut.
To change the default, open Preferences > Multitrack and change the preference settings to Left/Right Cut.

Autoscale in waveform view does not scale down

Since, again, this follow-up question in another thread has not been answered, I will post it as a new thread here.
The autoscaling in the waveform viewer does not seem to be working as one expects.
When I switch to analog view the first time, it scales fine to the actual range of the signal.
Once the signal exceeds the scale, it will rescale. But if the signal is within a smaller interval again after retriggering, it will not scale back.
Hence, the autoscale seems to work only in one direction.
I tried
1) switching back to digital and then analog again - no rescaling
2) Analog setting, toggle between auto and fixed - no rescaling
3) trigger the signal again - no rescaling
The only thing that helps is to restart the software, or to remove and add the probes again (which is very annoying, if one considers my other question here... Probes in Waveform View added twice
How can this be solved?

I had been chasing this for months, along side another issue with the Mixed Signal Graph.
Here's a side by side comparison of the problem. I also believe that in 8.6, if you send the Mixed Signal Graph a null array, it will break horribly, to the point that you have to delete it and read from the pallet again. (Waveform attributes become corrupt among other things) I am unable to replicate in 2009 so I think it's fixed.
Attached is an example of the 'loose fit drift' issue.

How to switch to audio waveform view in source panel

I'm using Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 8.1.0(81) on a PC.
I'm following a tutorial on Lynda.com and the version used in their video isn't quite as up to date as mine.
They recommend clicking on the options list in the Source Panel's tab to switch to audio waveform view to more precisely insert and In point based on the dialogue in the audio.
Problem is, my Source Panel's option list doesn't include anything for audio waveform.
Am I missing something? Did they move it? Or maybe I may have the wrong tool selected (is this a contextual menu that changes depending on what tool is selected?)?

Please post a screen shot to explain which option you are choosing and if possible, share the complete workflow.
You can switch to Video or audio waveform in source panel by clicking the buttons Drag Video only or Drag audio only option.

Why does the unedited clip appear in the Zoom Navigator in Waveform View?

It's a case of trimming heads and tails, I guess. In Multitrack I highlighted the bit at the end of a clip I wanted to cut, and made the cut, no problem. Then I did the same at the beginning of the clip, no problem. Then I took the clip into Waveform View. It displayed the properly edited clip, but the Zoom Navigator shows the original, unedited clip. I see no reason to have that available after I've done my edits, do you? So my question is: Is there a way to dump the bits I don't want, leaving only the edited clip? I mean, I've got two tracks three minutes long, and the session is 2.5 GB in size. Ridiculous.

Kost7. I haven't tried your method yet because I haven't figured out how to use the slip tool and markers yet. However, I came up with another way that works. (I'm working with two tracks recorded simultaneously in Multitrack - an hour of vocal and guitar; I want to cut out segments and create a new session for each song.)
1 In Multitrack, highlight the portion you want.
2 Take it into Waveform Editor.
3 Click Edit>Copy to New, then Edit>Insert Into Multitrack Session
4 Repeat the procedure with the next track. The next new copy that gets inserted into Multitrack will be aligned with the first, because Audition automatically inserts stuff into MT at the current time position. As long as the highlighted portion stays the same, alignment is assured.
Whatcha think? How does that compare to your own method? I'm assuming that because you're using time markers that it's both more time-consuming and more failsafe.
What I like about this method is that it's about as straightforward as how I used to do things in AA3.

Cannot execute setupview command in a view

Hi,
I created a view pointing to EMAIGC_11.1.1.7.0AS_GENERIC_120114
Then grabbed a transaction in the view and compiled the code, using
make clean build.
Later when I try to run 'setupview -config noagent' it fails saying command not found.
I created the above view using my globalid.
But the same command goes through fine if I create the view as a aime user.
Can anybody please explain what the issue is?

Hi Andila, well you could just make your dynamic sql statement an insert statement based on your select. See example below
create column table test_table_1

However you may want to investigate other options instead of using dynamic SQL as this is not a recommended approach. Less optimized compared to standard sql.

I'm trying to create a command table, in Business View Manager, that is a view of the FACTS table.
Command Table:
Time_ID
Measure_ID
Valuetype_ID
Amount
I want to sum all duplicate fields by amount, so I try to create a command table with the following code:
select dbo.facts.Time_ID, dbo.facts.measure_ID, dbo.facts.valuetype_ID, sum(dbo.facts.sum)
From dbo.facts
group by facts.Time_ID
and I get the error "SQL syntax error returned. Please modify ant try again"
But, if I isolate de expression without the field sum(...) or only with the sum field it returns the result.
Can anyone help me?

Do the History Panel or Command menu record items work in code view?

I am using Dreamweaver CS6 version 12 on a 2.33 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running OS X 10.6.8.
When I attempt to use the History Panel or the Command menu items "Start Recordings" or "Play Recorded Commands" in code view they do not work. Can these tools be used in code view?

Well, I found Dreamweaver for Windows and Dreamweaver CC (which I assume is Creative Cloud) but I didn't find a Dreamweaver for Mac forum. The other two just didn't seem to be appropriate.
I find the forums difficult to navigate.

Viewing as one single waveform in multitrack

Hi,
I have imported a track which is recorded in stereo which is fine. But i would rather view and edit it as one clear wave form, not split down as two identical waves so it looks more like a mono track. Is there a way of changing the view to do that in both multitrack view and the waveform view?
I know i could do a mono save and then a re-import but havent used Adobe Audition for ages, and i am sure there is a way of doing it so it's easier.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Ade,
You can achieve this look in Waveform view, but Multitrack Clips will always display the full channel stack.
In Waveform view, choose View > Waveform Channels > Layered
If you enable Uniquely Colored in that same menu, you'll be able to more easily visualize the different channels when layered.

Click on the Setup Room (Command 1). Then click the User Prefs tab. You'll see in the middle, 4 color wheels. Look right above the bottom color wheel, there's a check box called "Monochrome Scopes" ... uncheck that.

Access via command line to the data files for Address Book

I rolled back from Mountain Lion Server to Snow Leopard Server because I needed mySql. At the time I was under AppleCare and they walked me through the steps. However, I ended up with Address Book issues.
Addressbook user on the Snow Leopard Server was upgraded to Mountain Lion Server. During the rollback process, the Apple tech had me delete the Addressbook user.
When we finished the rollback, he had me recreate the Addressbook user, but now it is linked to a new, empty data file. I cannot add new contacts nor edit or delete them. So I need to use the command line to view both data store files, find the one that has my data in it and re-attach it to my new Addressbook user.
Can someone help me with the Command Line commands?

There are a couple of more advanced solution I can think of and I'm actually working on one myself.
* You can create your own jnlp client that allows you to pass in arguments. That sounds harder than it easy. Building a stripped down jnlp client (e.g. no installer, no applets) using one of the two open-source client as a start takes probably just a couple of days and should be sufficient for in house usage.
* Another solution is what I'm working on now. You can wrap your own executable around javaws that takes your passed in arguments plus jnlp href and looks up the original in the cache and adds a new one to the cache that it passes on to javaws and suddenly everything works as it should. No. you cannot add or drop columns to the materialized view using the ALTER Statement.
To Change the Structure of the view , drop and re-create the materialized view.
To Alter a materialized view log, You can use the ALTER MATERIALIZED VIEW LOG. By this,
You can add new columns to a materialized view log.
