Go to destination button

I'm trying to create a navigation system at the bottom of my pages so that when a reader is on one section of my issue, he/she can click on one of these buttons and be taken to the other sections. Currently I'm using the "go to destination" option with the button panel, and linking to the corresponding InDesign file located within the same folio folder I've created. However, when I test this out on the Content Viewer, the buttons don't take me to the corresponding pages. Is there a better way to do this or am I doing something wrong within the go to destination tool?

You need to use the navto command with a button. See Creating navto links to other articles.

I tried from Visual Administrator->SLD Data Supplier to trigger SLD data supply. I get the following error: "Failed to send HTTP data:401. Unauthorized".
I also checked the SLD logs and I found this:
"#14 08/28/2008 08:11:37.910 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_35] WARNING com.sap.lcr.cimsrv.ChangePasswordServlet: Password change required for WBEM client. Please ensure that service client users don't have initial passwords. Alternatively, logon to the SLD user interface with the corresponding user and assign a new password. After the password has been changed, client settings must be updated accordingly. "
Is it possible the SLDSUSER password expired somehow?

  • Buttons not working - InDesign (CS4) Interactive Pdf

I've been creating an interactive pdf document for a client over the last few months.
Initially, this was going to be a 70 page document, with limited interactivity (some forwards and back buttons etc.).
Now, this has grown and is a 220 page document, with rollover buttons that reveal other buttons layered on top of each other, various menus to navigate back and forth through the document, masses of content, images, bookmarks etc! And, I'm experiencing problems with buttons/ links now working when the pdf is exported.
Some of the buttons that don't work on exporting pdf, in the inDesign file appear to be set up in the correct way, I have even rebuilt some of them still with no luck on exporting them.
Is the document now too big and too complex to work??
If anyone at Adobe could give me some of their expert advice that would be much appreciated as myself and colleagues are now out of ideas!
    Many thanks!

I've been having experiencing a similar problem after I chose to create a digital presentation with InDesign instead of PowerPoint.
It's basically a showcase of products with several non-linear navigation buttons (for which I use buttons, bookmarks and the "Go to Destination" option).
There are several videos, so I thought that the interactive PDF container would be the best choice for a single file, since this presentation is to be distributed to many sales representatives.
Everything was fine until there were about 100 "pages" (slides). After this point, the "Go to Destination" buttons stopped working (although the mouse cursor indeed changes to a pointing hand). Only the "Go to next page" buttons do work, and I have already tried to export the PDF in several ways. I've been really thrilled by what kinds of restrictions does an interactive PDF have.
Have you found any solutions to this matter? I think I have pushed this functionality over its limits...

  • Unable to create the Jco destination

    Hi Experts,
I am facing a strange issue, As part of ESS and MSS i have to create some Jco destinations in the Wedynpro content administrator.I am giving the all the necessary information for the Jco creation when i click on Finish, jco is not getting creted.
And the status is in Red color...
Can any one help me what i am missing???

    Hi Anil,
    Hope you are doing good.
Is the SLD up and running?
    If the issue persists:
1.)Delete all the JCO destinations from Content Admin and then from SLD
2.)Restart the complete cluster once and do a SLD data trigger.
3.)Then recreate all the jco destinations again from content admin. (Important note: using the "New JCO Message Server Destination" button in SLD will create an inconsistent state. Please do not use it.)
let me know how this goes.
    Thank you!
    Kind Regards,

  • Named Destinations

I want to open an acorbat document to a specific page. I have found the following in the parameters for opeining a file. (Parameters for Opening PDF Files)
    nameddest=destination
Specifies a named destination in the PDF document.
How do you create a nameddest? A bookmark does not work
    I have the following. acrobat.exe /a "nameddest=basic" "C:\NFPA13.pdf"
The document opening but does not go to the bookmark "basic"
    Thanks
    Tim

A named destination is different than a bookmark. A bookmark may link to a named destination, but they are different things. To create a named destination, you'd set up the view (page number, zoom, etc.) and select: View > Navigation Panels > Destinations
Then click on the "Create new destination" button (little target + yellow star) in the upper-right of the Destinations pane. Then give it the name you want.

  • Restoring stereo audio track link to video track as source/destination

I've read everything I can find relevant in discussions & manuals but can't figure out how to get my two audio tracks (stereo) linked back to video track as destinations, as they once were, with video and audio source/destination tabs joined. In the patch panel (when I started this morning) I noticed that only A1 destination button had an a1 source. There was no a2 Source button to join to A2 Destination.
In my groping around I managed to also make the a1 source button dissapear as well. Link and Stereo Pair are checked in the Modify menu. Linked Selection button is on in Timeline.
What the heck am I doing wrong here and how do I get those Source buttons to reappear? Thanks for whatever advice you guys can give.
    - Frazzled Idiot

"how do I get those Source buttons to reappear?"
The vn and an source tabs appear and disappear in the timeline depending on the clip in the viewer: if it is only video, there is only v1, if it is only stereo audio you have a1 and a2, if you have a standard clip audio + video you have v1, a1 and a2, and so on. Just depends on the clip in the viewer.
If you had only a1 source, it means that you probably had your clip unlinked, your stereo pair unlinked and you loaded only one of the 2 stereo tracks to the viewer. If you want to edit them back together select the video and 2 audio tracks in the timeline and cmd-L (link video to audio) and opt-L (link stereo pair).
After that when you load the clip in the viewer you'l have again v1, a1 and a2 source buttons ready to use.

  • Pasting Clips into Timeline. Overwrite to Destination Tracks

When I paste clips into the middle of the timeline they seldom overwrite to the tracks I've selected. Why is that? They usually overwrite to video 1 and audio 1 & 2. So to get around it I have to go thru the tedious process of moving the playhead to the end of the tracks and insert there then move inserted clip down to where I want it. Sometimes I even have to unlink the audio to prevent those tracks from overwriting the wrong tracks and then re-link after placing.
I'm sure there is something simple I'm overlooking here...
    Thanks!

I suspect what is happening is you haven't moved the video destination button to the correct track. if you look at the panel to the left of the timeline you will see a pair of buttons labelled v1 and V1 that are attached to each other. The leftmost of that pair (v1 - note the lower case v) is the one that sets the destination track for video you add to the timeline. Click & drag it up to V2 and new clips you add will be placed on V2 and not V1. You can also shortcut this by pressing F6 and the number of the track you want to be the destination track.
There are companion audio destination buttons for your audio tracks, so you may need to move them to A3/A4 when you move the video destination button to V2

  • "Destination Transfer" but

Can Somebody Tell Me where the Destination Button is on the Organizer. I got through all the steps (I think) and can't find it. I can't transfer all the darn music I have transferred to my pc.

Well, my son purchased his Zen Extra yesterday - phoned me at my office to tell me he couldn't figure out how to transfer from his computer to the device. "Can't be that difficult" I think to myslef. "I'll be home this evening, we'll figure it out," I replied.
After 45 minutes of messing with the software, I hadn't figured it out, either - decided to look online for advice/experience from others - kept seeing the same uninformati've (but as it turns out, accurate) answer.
The problem here, is that the "Destination Transfer" button is one of the few items on that screen that you can hover over with your mouse and not get a description of its name or function. Also, the "step-by-step" instruction explain everything neede to move the contents of a CD onto your hard dri've, but then, mysteriously, cut short the description of how, exactly, you move those contents onto the device.
The "destination transfer" button is nothing more than the two arrows that reside between the two "explorer" panes. The key to getting ripped material onto the device (after having ripped your files which now appear in the right hand pane) is to treat the upper left hand corner of the screen like a windows exporer tool (which it is), and to select the Zen Extra so as to open its content list in the left hand pane (if you have yet to transfer any files to the Zen, the only files showing will be the demo files that were pre-loaded onto the unit prior to deli'very). Once that pane is properly displayed, the "Destination Transfer" button (really two buttons, one an arrow pointing right, the other pointing left) that points left into the Zen contents pane, once pressed, will start the process of transferring all files in the right pane (your computer's hard dri've) to the left pane (the Zen).
It's so simple I could kick myself - good thing the writer of the documentation isn't around, 'cause I'd kick hem/her, too.
It's so simple, but so poorly documented. The documentation simply leaves out the part about moving the audio contents back to that left hand pane.
My son was about to give up on the device - I'll just take it back and but the Apple, even though it has less capacity.
The device, itself is fairly straigh-forward - a hard dri've in a compact case with external controls and rechargeable battery. The software "ain't" too complicated, either. Too bad the documentation is so lame that many otherwise happy end-users will be tempted to return their purchase because "operating" it is too complicated.
Shame on those who wrote/approved this documentation.

  • Steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation

    Hi
Please provide steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
when i m opening standard iview in ESS in portal i m getting following runtime error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello Bhupinder Singh,
To use ESS/MSS services in Portal follow the following Steps
    Maintaining jCo Connections
    Use
jCo connections are used in iViews to connect directly to a backend. They are delivered with the portal content and must be activated (configured to access a specific system).
jCo connections have two parts: one with <jCo name>, and the other with suffix <jCo Name>_MetaData. The first one transfers user-specific data within the scenario; the other transfers only the needed metadata. For the jCo with name <jCo name>, SAP Logon Ticket is recommended as an authentication method. For the metadata connection, a user ID and password is needed. A system user created before is sufficient.
    Procedure
Within this guide we generically describe the step-by-step procedure for an example connection set. Perform all steps for the following jCos:
    u2022     SAP_R3_Financials / SAP_R3_Financials_Metadata
    u2022     SAP_R3_HumanResources / SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics / SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_Travel / SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataFIN

  • How do I convert a Quicktime file into an MPG2 in Compressor?

Every time I try to export my movie as an MPG2 in FCP, it locks up on me.
So I exported the movie as a regular Quicktime file in FCP and now I'm wondering what all the steps are to make the file into an MPG2 so that I can burn it to a DVD in DVD Studio Pro.

Just open Compressor and import the QT file.
Click on the 'Settings' button and choose a preset that matches your source meda format and gives you the compression parameters you want to use.
Click on the 'Destination' buttons for each and tell it where to send the file.
Change the 'Output file name'(s) if you wish.
    Hit 'Submit'
The Compressor Help menu will give you plenty of info on options available.

  • Dragging Audio wthout video?

I was wondering how to add video or audio to the timeline alone? Say I just need the audio for a clip, I can't figure out how to dragg just the audio without the video inserting itself over a clipp already there.
Also, How do you determine what line you want to paste to - it seems my default track to insert any paste is the first or second line for video. Say I have to paste to the 4 video track how can i make it insert there instead of on the 2nd track where it just seems to be inserting itself....
    THanks
    TIM

Use the Patch Panel to the left of your Timeline to control the tracks that new material will be added to. There are little source-destination buttons that say v1-V1, a2-A2 etc. Click a Source button (lower case) to separate it from the Destination button (upper case) that it is attached to. Then drag the Source button to the track you want to add video (or audio) to. Then click it again to attach it to the new Destination track.
If you only want to add audio, separate the Source & Destination video buttons on the Patch Panel. Then move the audio source buttons to the appropriate tracks & attach them to their corresponding Destination buttons. Then add your new clip. Only the audio will be added.

  • UDDI and deployed Web Services Best Practice

Which would be considered a best practice?
    1. To run the UDDI Registry in it's own OC4J container with Web Services deployed in another container
    2. To run the UDDI Registry in the same OC4J container as the deployed Web Services

The reason you don't see your services in the drop-down is because, CE does lazy initialization of EJB components (gives you a faster startup time of the server itself). But your services are still available to you. You do not need to redeply each time you start the server. One thing you could do is create a logical destinal (in NWA) for each service and use the "search by logical destination" button. You should always see your logical names in that drop-down that you can use to invoke your services. Hope it helps.
