Go to next chapter not working with Blu-ray disc

I’m using Adobe Encore CS 5 to create Blu-ray disc but when the disc is created the go to next chapter buttons do not work. In Encore when using the preview option the go to next chapter buttons do work but once the Blu-ray is created and I try to go to next chapter while playing the disc I receive a message that reads "operation not available". I have created multiple Blu-Ray projects, used different brand Blu-ray media and even used my Windows system and my Mac system but the same issue keeps happening. I’ve also played the Blu-ray on multiple Blu-ray players and it happens on all of them. The Blu-ray burner I’m using is a LG BE14NU40 External Blu-ray burner and I have contacted them but they tell me it is a problem with Encore not the burner.

Google "encore blu-ray next chapter remote".
Example: Re: Encore 5 "Next / Forward" Button Not Available For Blu-Ray?
You'll find lots of issues. This function may work if the project is very simple. But perhaps not.

  • Can not burn a Blu-ray disc

The problem: Can not burn a Blu-ray disc.
I open Premiere Elements 12 and load my project and then go to “publish and share” my project, I select "create Disc – Burn DVD, Blu-ray and AVCHD disc", I select "Blu-ray", the disc location and settings box opens and the “status” setting indicates "Media not present”.  I know the Pioneer Blu-ray BDR-2208 drive works properly because I have already published regular DVDs in it and had no problems.  I thought perhaps it was a problem with the initializing of the disc whether you choose (Mastered) as opposed to (Live File System). Neither works. I tired Phillips BD-R disc & Memorex BD-RE disc, neither works.  The only thing I noticed was the burner location setting is indicating a Pioneer BDR-208M burner rather than a Pioneer BDR-2208 burner. Could this be the problem? Remember that burner will burn regular DVD's.  Does Premiere Elements 12 require some other additional software on my computer to burn a Blu-ray disc?  Also is there a list of compatible Blu-ray burners? BTW I am using Windows 8.1.

Attached is a screenshot of the dialog box that opens up when I place a regular DVD or Blu-ray in my desktop computer.
In order for me to burn a DVD project in premiere elements if I do not initialize the disc with the above procedure I receive a media not present in the settings box of premiere elements.  I assumed I have to do the same thing with a Blu-ray too.  I've tried following this procedure, also tried using the live file system.  Also tried putting a fresh disc in without doing anything to it and always receive the media not present in the status setting.  One suggestion has been that another program is interfering with premiere elements.  I will also go out and purchase some Verbatim BD-RE disc, whether they work right now or not I can always use them later after I solve my problem.
I Have a lot of great suggestions from you guys and I really appreciate it.  I'm going to work on some of those today starting with loading imgburn and see if I can indeed burn a Blu-ray disc with my system.  I have already created a AVCHD BDMV file on my computer and I will start with trying to work with that and see if that is successful and then come back to premiere elements.  I appreciate the input regarding Cyberlink software.  I have version 8 (came with my Pioneer Blu-ray Drive) and was thinking about upgrading to the latest version but with your input regarding Power Producer I will save my money.
Another thought I had, with Blu-ray disc burners being as cheap as they are purchase one that has been proven to work with premiere elements 12.1.  Time is money, the cost of a new Blu-ray burner is insignificant.  I will consider this option later.

  • Chapter markers won't work when Blu-ray Disc burned

I just burned a Blu-ray Disc directly in FCP7 (using Sharing). My 5 chapter markers are nowhere to be found when I play the disc back in my player.
What happened? I don't want the chapter markers as subtitles -- simply want them to work as chapter markers.
I'm sure I've burned Blu-ray before and the chapter markers exported just fine. Don't know what's wrong, this time.

Larry, in Compressor, open the preview window and be sure the markers are there before encoding. If not, create a chapter list in DVDSP format and import it. I'm not sure why they don't show sometime, but I believe that if they appear in the Compressor preview window, they will be there on the final disc.
You can export a marker list from FCP and manipulate the text file (I use TextEdit's replace function) to turn it into this format:
    00:23:24:15 Chapter one
    00:35:12:19 Chapter two etc.
This can be imported in the Compressor preview window.

  • Blu-ray menu button made with dynamic link won't work on Blu-ray disc

    Windows 7
    CS6 cloud
Ok.  So I used dynmamic link to my encore project and I also imported an mpg.4 as an asset for a separate menu button.  I have two buttons on linked to the premire pro project and one linked to the mpg.4.  Everything works fine in preview and the flow chart is fine everything is going where its supposed to go.
When I play the blu-ray disc the menu shows, the video thumbnails show...but when I hit the menu button that is supposed to play the premier pro video it does not work.  But when I hit the menu button for the mpeg.4 video it does work.
Can anyone tell me what is going on?

  • 2011 MacBook Pro shuts down while working with blu ray disks

I am trying to backup my blu ray disks to digital formats in the event that a disk is damaged. I am using an early 2011 MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8.5 with a Samsung SE-506 external blu ray writer. I have been using handbrake to rip DVD's, but downloaded Make MKV to handle blu rays. I successfully ripped one blu ray disk last night. Once before that, and four times after, the computer shut down after failing to read the disk. When it restarts, a gray screen reports that the computer experienced and error and had to shut down. I believe this has something to do with the fact that OSX does not natively support blu ray disks. The disk drive is plugged into one of two USB slots in the computer. The other slot has a USB hub with two external hard drives and some other devices connected to it.
So far, the computer has failed to recognize the disk, and nothing comes up in Make MKV. The last time I tried, the computer recognized the disk, Make MKV read it and showed the titles. When I tried to rip the disk, the process failed. After another attempt, the computer shut down. This has never happened while using the original disk drive, or while using DVD's in the external drive.
I spoke with Samsung support, and they have no record of this being a problem. So, where do I go from here? I have quite a few disks to rip, so I am hoping this issue can be resolved. I have searched around, but cannot find any information on this problem happening to someone else.

    Hi lilliputian apple,
If you are having issues with your Mac spontaneously shutting down, especially with externally connected hardware, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Menu End Action not working on Blu Ray?

I am Blu-Ray authoring, and for some reason my animated menus simply repeat rather than automatically lead into the END ACTION timeline I have indicated.
When I preview in Encore everything works correctly but once I burn a Blu-Ray disc the disc does not execute the desired end action?
The Menu END ACTION works on normal DVDs.
    Please advise?

    Strange,
    it works on my BR.
It doesn't seem to be a bug..............
Have you burnt directly from Encore or built an image, then made the BR?
    Ciao

  • Preview works perfect, Blu Ray disc doesn't - Encore Cs5.1

    Hello All
I have never had any trouble creating blu ray discs before until this one. I have a project created with no errors reported when i check it. The flow chart looks good. The timelines dont have crazy long names with spaces. The preview plays PERFECTLY!!! After burning the project to a blu ray disc i see that the buttons on one particular menu will not work even though they are connected to the proper timelines. Also the FirstPlay which is a short 20 sec video timeline will not play.
Its driving me crazy cause ive never had trouble creating a blu ray before. Ive tried to play it in three different players and all the same results.
    Am i missing something

Well im not sure yet but i think this was a problem with me Premiere Pro exports. I had exported all but one video with a 25 frame rate. apparently blu-ray will not play that. Im currently exporting new video in a 29.97 frame rate and will attempt to burn a new disc.

  • Premiere Elements 12 does not recognize blank Blu-ray disc.

I just upgraded from Premiere Elements 8 to PRE12.  Now when I insert a blank Blu-ray disc in the BR burner, I get a message "Media Not Present".  It does recognize the burner, but not the blank disc.  Yet when I open PRE 8, PRE 8 does recognize this very same disc in the same burner!  Also, PRE 12 can burn a blank DVD in this same burner.  The Blu-ray disc also appears as a completely blank in Windows File Explorer.  And this is a problem even after updating to release 12.1.  The Adobe chat representative tells me this is a know issue with PRE12.    I find that difficult to accept, since why would Adobe change in PRE 12 something that was not broken? What's the truth, and when and how can it be fixed?

First, I tried uninstalling, register cleaning and reinstalling Premiere Elements.  This was a mess.  I kept getting error messages when trying to reinstall.  So I had to do a system restore to just before I uninstalled PRE.  After that restore, PRE would not open.  So I did another uninstall from Control Panel and reinstall, without touching the registry.  Then, I was back in operation, several frustrating hours later. But still the BR drive would not recognize Blu-ray discs.
So then I loaded a BR-RE disc, instead of a BR-R, and still no recognition.
Then I installed the external Blu-ray burner, and finally PRE12 recognized the blank Blu-ray disc.  I had a sign that this would work when I attached an external DVD drive to burn a AVCHD file, and PRE12 recognized the blank media, whereas it did not recognize any blank DVDs in the internal BR drive for burning AVCHD files.  As a alternative to borrowing an external BR drive to see if this fixes the Media not Present message, I suggest using a much more readily available external DVD drive and try to burn a AVCHD file first.  If that works, then one can be much more confident that purchasing an external Blu-ray drive will provide the solution.
Yet I deeply resent having to purchase a $125 piece of hardware, which is otherwise useless to me, to fix a bug in a program.  The box promises the ability to export a Blu-ray disc.  Since their lawyers use the weasel word "compatible" Blu-ray burner required, I fully expect them to take the position that now only an external burner is "compatible", and do nothing to fix the compatibility with internal burners.  Potential buyers be forewarned!
As an alternative to paying more money to make their software work as indicted on the box, one might want to settle for only being able to write AVCHD files to a DVD.  Most every computer (except Ultrabooks) has an internal DVD burner, which supposedly all that would be needed to burn this kind of HD file.  But first, we all need to know, will PRE12 return a Media not Present message when burning a AVCHD file to an internal DVD burner?  What are the field reports of any problems incurred doing this procedure?  Please advise.
And one more question.  When I burn an AVCHD file to a DVD, the DVD is not finalizied by PRE12.  After burning the AVCHD file, the DVD shows free space available, but after burning a DVD Video, there is no free space available.  Moreover, ImgBurn does finalize DVDs after burning AVCHD files to them.  So Is this failure by PRE12 to finalize another bug?  Can ImgBurn now finalize an unfinalizied AVCHD disc left by PRE12 -- without having to run another session of PRE to burn to a folder now, of course?  If so, how?

  • Optiarc BC-5500A on HDX9494NR not reading certain blue ray discs

    Hi guys.
Looking around the web it seems that this particular drive requires a firmware update to be able to read dual layer blue ray discs.
This is the only thing I can think that is wrong with my drive, since it reads most blue ray discs, except the brand new one.  I just got (500) days of summer from Netflix. It plays on my PS3 but it won't play on my laptop. Other blue rays that I have like Transmormers and planet earth work perfectly.
The symptom is that when I insert the drive, the computer starts scaning for 30 seconds and eventually it gives up. With the other blue ray mentioned, it detects them immidiatly.  500 days of summer doesn't look to be scratched or dirty.
    Any ideas?
A few stats: I am using windows 7 ultimate and watching the blue rays with totalmedia theater. Firmware reported by the drive is 1.86 (sep14, 2007)
I found interesting that there is no post about this around here.  Is anybody else experiencing the same issue, or do I have a bad drive?

dont hope to get helped here... they got your money and now you are on your own.
I also had problems with this drive. In my case it just stopped reading blu ray discs (it still reads dvd's and cd's).
If you do a quick google about this drive you'll find A LOT of users have problems with it. So its a pretty **bleep**y drive.
HP's solution to this is to just ignore all the complaints.
Same thing with drivers for their hardware. They only update them once and then its over. And if you go to the manufacterer's website (like nvidia for the graphics card) and try to use their latest version available on their site it wont work because HP adjusts the hardware so you can only use drivers from HP's site.
And when you friendly ask if it would be possible to provide updated drivers, they just ignore you...
My conclusion and advice to you is this: NEVER AGAIN BUY SOMETHING FROM HP! because once they got your money you're on your own.

  • Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?

I have about 23 Gb project of stills photos and still cameras video clips. But I also have some additional footage on hd from an hd  video camera.
My blu ray disc are all 50 gb and I wonder if I could  add a second project to the disc and how to go about it, as well as if it is possible how I'll create menu/s to get it working.
I posed the question in quite a few places but it does not return any relevant answer.
I have not worked with blu ray before but since the writers are much cheaper it became affordable for me and I got an external usb Samsung writer.
Window 7 recognises it but Encore (CS 4) does not -  anyway I found out it's probably better to use the "folder" option than the disc. I have created a rewritable BD using the image (iso) option with "imgburn". and although it stopped at 75% I was surprised that the BD plays with the complete project and no problem! (my rewritable is only 25Gb) so I can't experiment with with these particular projects.)     Thank you

My try does not seem so lucky
I added to my earlier succesful BR project 2 more time lines. On one I had video clips from several still cameras (2 panasonic and one Nikon) and on the other timeline, my .mts clips from my hd Everio video cam.
The Encore projects was previewing well and did not return any error (pre building).
I output the encoding to a folder and followed the imgburn well detailled instruction to burn to a folder,  i found them on the net and they were very well explained and my burning went exactly through the same steps explained.
so the procedure progressed over a few hours (it showed the size of 25.5 GB) When it was complete the disk was ejected with a message that it could not be shut again and this happens with slim external drives or Laptops.
I'm not sure what is going on now, but when I put the disk in my entertainment player It asked me If I want copy or format the disk and it won't play.
As this is the second time it happens I put it back in my BR writer, and like the first time It's going threw (I think), a "miscompares" check.
Now it's through 40% and not showing any error, but i seem to remember that I clicked "Yes" to ignore "miscompare"
So I don't really know what is going on, this is almost like 15 hours the process has been on (including the retry).
The BD-RE (50gb DL) is the same colour as the new one I have not idea if anything is written on it.
My first successful project was only animated stills with sound track added to it and burnt onto a rewritable 25 gb BR.
Well any help will be welcome:)

  • Menu Problem with Blu Ray

Can anyone help? I've created a project that contains 2 edited movies. I have added a main menu, and given both movies a main menu marker, and an end marker. Normally on DVD's this would send you back to the main menu when each of the films were completed, but I cannot get this to work with Blu Ray. Am I missing something here? What happens in this case is that the Disc starts with the menu, but if you pick the first item, the film will play OK, but instead of reverting back to the main menu, it carries on and shows the next .. and on completion, just terminates - does not go to the menu. The same if you select the second item. it just plays through and terminates. It seems that the End markers are being ignored. Has anyone got any ideas ??

You can see how this product works by going to http://Muvipix.com and typing "DVD Architect" in the product search box. This will bring up a free 3-part Basic Training tutorial series where you can see the product demonstrated.

  • APE11 will not recognize any blu-ray media

I have APE11 and attempting to burn a project to blu-ray. My problem is that APE11 recognizes the blu-ray burner but will not recognize any blu-ray discs. I have tried various BD-R and BD-R DL discs to no avail. I receive a "Media not present" message. If I select the same burner but choose to create a DVD, I receive a "Incompatible disc" message. This leads me that it sees the discs but I'm not sure what's up with the blu-ray option. The blu-ray discs are Verbatim and Windows recognizes the discs as well. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

    robertjeffrey
What Blu-ray burner do you have? Is it recognized in the Device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives? Driver and Firmware up to date?
What burn software came with the Blu-ray burner? If it is part of the CyberLink family, can you use the PowerProducer of the series to burn to Blu-ray disc format on a Blu-ray disc using these Blu-ray discs that Premiere Elements burn dialog is labelling "Media Not Present"? I would like to see the results of that test if possible.
Just to get it out of the way (maybe helpful), let us flush the preferences...
Assuming your Premiere Elements 11 is on Windows 7 or 8 64 bit....
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11
and in the 11 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs Folder that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 11 Folder in which it exists.Make sure that you are working with Folder Options/Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the path described.
If that does not work, a complete Deactivation from Help Menu/Deactivate followed by the usual Control Panel uninstalled followed by reinstall may be in order. I am hoping the results from a CyberLink PowerProducer burn to may give us some valuable information so that we do not have to resort to uninstall/reinstall.
Are you using BD-R 25 GB 2X? What is this BD-R DL? Is that the 50 GB for Blu-ray? Do you have any BD-RE 25 GB 6X? How much are you planning on putting on this Blu-ray disc in terms of Space Required and duration?
Let us start here and then we can decide what next.
    Thanks.

  • Burning to Blu Ray disc (25GB)

    Hi,
I'm not understanding some of my searches on this.
I am trying to burn files from Arpeture and iPhoto....they both are around 80 GB and I have 24GB discs.
However when I try to burn to the disc the first time (with 24GB of data) it stated a warning: Too large to fit on disc.  Remove some files and try again.
I did that and it still gave me the same warning.  I tried on a few of my computers and I received the same warning.  I'm using a External ODD&HDD device to burn.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for your help.
    G

I used Virtual CD to emulate BD burner and burned to iso image. I burned the iso with Imgburn at 4x on same brand BD disc and its all good. Used Premiere's same session to burn directly on a TDK rewritable BD disc and it went smooth. Both discs can be read by Windows. This time I disabled anti-virus on next Windows startup. I also disabled firewall, stopped Windows automatic update and Windows automatic maintenance. Sometime they do thrash the hard drive and cause failure when burning disc. Those two discs that had failed were I guess due to buffer issue as I got few "waiting for buffer to recover message.." in Imgburn and also maybe it was burning way faster than the disc could handle. I saw it burning whole 18 GB in just under 15 minutes for a 6x disc. My latest burning to BD discs have no issues reading by Windows.
Windows did see the blu-ray burner when I had issues with first two discs and I burned on DVD disc as well for same project. It could play dvd fine but I had problem with those two discs only.
The only thing is I am yet to test the menus with blu-ray discs. I download Powerdvd and WinDVD trial version but Powerdvd gives black screen and WinDVD won't start after the splash screen nothing happens and it disappears. I tested with Leawo and it does show the main menu with background music but the virtual remote doesn't work. I will try on someone else's computer or PS4 to test the menus. I think it should be fine with menus.
    Thanks

  • Re: Satellite A500-1DN - Blu-Ray disc Writer needed

    Hi all!
My problem is that in my latop i have a CDDVDW TSST TS-L633C writer.
With this i can 't record or play blu-ray content.
Is this possibility to get a blu-ray disc writer in my laptop from toshiba? If yes, how much does it cost?
    Thanks in advance!
    atibrd

    Hello
Unfortunately I cannot give you presice info about that but what I know is that just several Toshiba notebooks are delivered with Blu-Ray disc drives and I was not able to find any info about Blu-Ray driver used on A500.
On my Satellite P500 I have Mat****a BD-MLT UJ240ES and this drive has BD read and write function. I dont know if you can use this ODD on your notebook model (compatibility).
I recommend you to contact Toshiba service in your country and ask for help. They should know if you can use this ODD or not.
    Price? Google!!!
