Go to specific page number (Pages 5.0.1)

Hi everyone:
I'm missing a tool in the new Pages that I found very useful in the previous version of the app, that is the option to go to a specific page of a document (for example, go to page number 473).
Is there any way to do it or has that tool been suppressed?

I'm using the command #page=33 to try to force Safari to open a PDF to a specific page number. While this works fine on just about every website browser, it doesn't seem to work in Safari. What am I doing wrong?

The problem is most likely with the Safari PDF plugin, which doesn't process the open parameters correctly. To be fair, though, this is not a part of the PDF ISO specification but something that Adobe implemented on their own in their PDF plugins, so other applications are not obliged to follow it.
If you switch to using the Adobe plugin then it should work, even in Safari.

Hi and thanks. Pages is V 5.0.1. And I've got OSX 10.9.1.
I just tried what you suggested and while it works I'm looking for something like what a Word doc shows, where at the bottom of the screen you see - Pages: 1 of 37 (it's to the left of where a Word doc shows - Words: 7 of 9024).
I recently switched to Pages and want to start using it all the time and get rid of Word.

let's say a registration form, there is only 1 full address provided in my registration pdf, but applicant could have more than 1 address, so i have to make it more flexible to extend the address page no matter how many addresses that applicant provided, i have use adobe acrobat pro to edit the form properties. but dont know how to extend/duplicate a page in felxible times.

How to create a table of contents (TOC) linking to specific pages of different (multiple) PDFs

I would like to create clickable Table of Contents (TOC) that can lead to a sub clickable TOC that would lead to a specific page of different PDFs within a folder.
Is that possible?
Secondly, is is possible to create a search box that upon typing a specific word (not related to text within the PDFs), that word to be linked to a specific page of a particular PDF out of many within a folder?
To make it more clear, I have a database of specifications of equipment and drawings of a building, all in multiple PDF files. I would like to be able to unify all those PDFs and if I type the room number of the building to be presented with a menu of choces pointing to services assosiated with that room, being elctrical power drawings, lighting drawings or drawings of Air Conditioning and Ducting associated with that room. So I type a room number, then I get a menu of Power, Lights, Fire Alarm, or Ducting all associated with that room, then if I click Fire Alarm to be directed straight to the drawing within a PDF related to that room.

I would say: Try and Error. Create a copy of your document and unmark in the copied document in the document inspector all boxes for the TOC. Then mark them again. Maybe you should also delete the paragraph styles and mark them again. If that doesn't work, try to copy the complete text of your document to a new created one. Maybe that works.

answer is correct but also we're add that the pages one attribute more as masterSpreads.
For e.g.
var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
app.importedPageAttributes.pageNumber = 1;
var myPage = myDoc.pages.item(0).appliedMaster = app.activeDocument.masterSpreads.item("B-Master"); -> Not right ¿ How would it be right?
myPage.place(File("/c/myTestDocument.indd"));
app.importedPageAttributes.pageNumber = 2;

Looking for a command to go to a specific page in a long Pages document.

I am writing an illustrated book and often need to go to a specific page number. Is there a 'go to page x' facility on MacBooks? Have asked my otherwise superb trainers in the local Apple store, but no-one seems to know.

Problem while opening a link of a PDF that points to a specific page to another PDF

PDF links whose URIs include backslashes are interpreted by Acrobat Reader browser plug-in as local file-system links even when they are not. This means that a link that points to a specific page number will open the file but not automatically jump to the desired page . In our browser-based viewing tool, this means that the links are perceived as not working.
for example : from IE Browser When we tried to open the link in PDF 1 which has the URL of the 5th section of PDF2 and the URL includes the backslashes then the Specific section of PDF2 is not getting opened . The link just opens the PDF2 first page. This Specific problem does not arrives if we try to open the link through Adobe Reader or if the URL mentioned in the PDF is formed using forwordslashes instead of backslashes.

I assume you are using Preview. If the PDF was created with an indexed table of contents, then choose View > Table of Contents. This will display the ToC in the sidebar, and you can click whatever section or page you want to go to. (There is also a button in the Toolbar to display or hide the sidebar.) If the document does not have a table of contents, or if you just want to go to a known page number, then Go > Go to Page….

I want to create a button that, when clicked, will take the user to a specific page in the same document. I do NOT want a text box to pop up asking what page to go to, I want it to automatically go to page 4 with no other input from the user.

If you want to be able to set a more exact location on the page (not just a page number) you can use the built-in "Go to a page view" action. After you add the command, just scroll to the location you want to link to and then click the Set Link button in the floating window.

How can I narrow down a search to a specific page in a PDF document?

Actually, I need to find a particular page before I do a search on it.
My problem is that I need to search a specific book mark in a large document, however, the particular name of the bookmark appears three times and I want to search all three of these bookmarks.
Currently I am using the following to narrow my search to a specific bookmark:
if (global.mainDoc.bookmarkRoot.children[i].name.indexOf("XYZ")!=-1) {

Unfortunately there are three bookmarks with the same name of XYZ and my search only goes to the last bookmark named XYZ.
I need to know how I can also search the other two bookmarks named XYZ.
The three same named bookmarks appear one right after the other. Since I am able to search the last of the same named bookmarks, I would like to then go to the previous page and search that page. Similarly I would like to go to the previous page before that one and search it as well.
I could obtain the number of the last bookmark named XYZ, subtract one from that page to obtain the previous page, and if there is a way to narrow a search to a page number I could search that page ,with the bookmark named XYZ, as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do you open a pdf file and go to a specific page? I want to use a pdf file as a help system. In my application I want to open the direction manual which is pdf and go to a specific page. How do I do this?
