Got a new All in one printer, TOUGH setting up the wireless, exasperating with the fax, but I'm set. Here's the problem:
When printing PDF files, sometimes the pages printed are fine and sometimes they are a mess and make no sense. WHY?
AND I sent a fax, the reply was I could see my REPLY??? or my FAX???? on the TV screen.
NO, NO.
ALso, so HP will know, it was difficult getting to this page. Why don't you have a Chat Room where we can actually chat with a real live person?

Hiding buttons when printing and adjusting field to compensate

Hi,
I had a request for a form in which the Add a Row button and Delete Row button are hidden when printed to make it look a little nicer. I was able to hide the buttons when printing, but the table that the delete is part of still looks odd and there is a larger space than I'd like to have between the tables once the add a row doesn't show. Is there are a way to make things look nicer? I've attached the demo of the form I'm working on a sample of what it looks like right now when I print.
I did see a post about Hiding text field borders when printing and it sounded like I might need to do something similar, but I'm not quite sure what.

The easiest way to deal with the buttons down the side is to set the borders of those cells to none, then you don't have to worry about it - you will end up with a little extra space down the right side but the table will look finished when the buttons hide. This is how I do it, because the button takes the whole space of the cell I just don't put a border on it. Getting into hiding columns and shifting table size to fill the space is getting pretty tricky.
To get the tables closer together when you print and hide the add row button, put the following script in the prePrint event of the button:
this.presence = "hidden";
And this script in the postPrint event:
this.presence = "visible";
Because the button is part of the flowed subform the table is in when you set its presence to hidden the subform will close the gap.

My 7515 makes a lot of noise, like gears grinding when printing and resetting itself.

Crashing When Printing and Desktop Icons

Hi,
For some reason every program I try to print from crashes. Also, my desktop icons are all generic rather than program-specific. I'm not really sure what happened. I did install new ram today, and took the laptop to work where it tried to find the printers on the network there. Something might have gotten messed up then, I don't know.
I've tried repairing permissions and get these messages:
ACL found but not expected on "private/var/root/Library/Preferences".
ACL found but not expected on "private/var/root/Library".
ACL found but not expected on "private/var/root.
Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.
I have a HP OficeJet 7210. When drop a document into the printers's print queue window things print fine, but every other program I try to print from crashes.
Any ideas?

Thanks for resonding. I launched Word, tried to print, and copied this from the error report window that popped up. Hope it is what you are asking for. If not, please tell me where the crash log might be found. In the mean time I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP printer drivers.

Address Book "Note" is truncated when printing and syncing

I just upgraded to 10.5.2 and this is still a problem: The "note" section of a contact in the Address Book is truncated when syncing to my iTouch (and I've heard the same problem for the iPhone). I haven't run into a limit to the amount of text you can type in a Contact's note section on the Mac. I have some Contacts with rather lengthy notes. But when printing a Contact (and checking the box for the Note to be included) it prints a long note in two narrow columns on one page and if the note won't fit on one page, it truncates it. Even less of the note gets sync'd to the iTouch. If this isn't fixed soon, I'm going to go back to Outlook and my Axim pda. I gotta have my Notes!

Address works with Phonetic Name. Doesn't like the Name only for some reason.

EPrint - delays in printing and what can it REALLY deal with in attachments; and duplex printing

I have my wirelessly connected 6500A plus (710n I think) setup for ePrint. While it mostly works, I have had occasions where a document (with graphics usually) will make it to the ePrintcenter printer queue but not print - and usually NO ePrintcenter error message or notification.
Are there a set number of attachment types and/or email document sizes that are "in play" for the ePrintCenter service?
Lastly, is there a way to have the printer default set to duplex print for ePrint "jobs"?

InDesign crashes, when printing and PDF messes up my Typefaces, why?

I bought a new Mac pro laptop, Os X Version 10.9.2
I loaded up my Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium.
I know it's old, but all worked just fine until I tried to create a pdf from InDesign.
The typeface, only partly, appears as squares on pdf.
Looking at a solution online I updated my InDeseign.
Now I can not print anymore. Program crashes as soon as I hit the Print button.
Anyone out there able to help?

New to this forum, but I too have had a problem with printing a PDF from InDesing. what I have found is when my dialog box gets to "DOWNLOADING PROCSET" and it just freezes, whats actually happening is the 'SAVE AS' dialogue box has appeared, but is not the active window. When I ALT+TAB through my open applications, in Windows 7 it changes your screen to 'preview' the programs you flick through, and I find it there, attached to outlook, or the internet. Upon further investigation, it appears to attach itself to which ever program I click, after the initial "DOWNLOADING PROCSET" freezing.
So now when I PDF from InDesign and it freezes at this point, I click the Desktop icon (in windows 7 its the rectangle in the bottom right corner) and it seems to 'place' the 'SAVE AS' dialogue box here, where I can actually select it and click SAVE.

Can't print and only displays the Fax Dialog when trying to print

When we setup our new printer it worked fine until now when I try and print any Word, Web, or Picture the Fax Dialog comes up instead to send a fax. I don't recall changing any settings. How can I resolve this?
There are 2 printer types showing in Printers and Devices. I have tried changing the deault printer, but nothing seems to work.

Remember, this is an Apple user to user help site, so few us may be experts with HP printers. OSX automatically installs the right printer software, you really don't have to go to HP to do that. In fact, I trust Apple to get it right more than HP.
That being said, the very first thing you need to do is to make absolutely certain that the printer is linked into your WiFi network. Again, we're not HP experts here, so you'll have to do that one yourself, by reading the instructions. Once your printer is connected to the network, then go to your iMac's System Preferences>Print&Scan. On the left hand side is a +. Click on that, and it should find your printer, if it your iMac and your HP printer are on the same exact WiFi network.

Adobe X goes into "Flattening" when printing and gets stuck at 6%, why?

When attempting to print some PDF's Acrobat X goes into "Progress" and sticks on 6% "Flattening" and does not print. when clicking on the programme it says "Not Responding". Can anyone help with this please.

The HTML Config errors that you're getting seem to be an issue with your internet browser. Can I have you start by changing your default browser on your Mac and giving the wireless configuration another attempt?
In order to change your Mac's default browser (preferably to Safari), you want to go to:
Choosing a default web browser
Open Safari (/Applications).
From the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
Click the General button.
Choose your desired browser from the "Default web browser" pop-up menu.
Mac OS X: How to change your default email application or web browser
Once your default web browser is changed to Safari, try to run the HTML Config wireless setup again.

Since I have seen several posts where Verizon techs have said the update continues to be pushed out, have you received the official (not downloaded) OTA 2.2 update since August 5, 2010?

My son-in-law received it a couple of days ago but there are 3 others of us in the family that are still waiting and we live close to each other. The distribution is also obviously not first-come-first-served. I guess there is nothing to do but wait. I'm hesitant to download it. I would be happier if Verizon had a server available so you could choose either to download it or go OTA. And I would be happier if Verizon were more forthcoming on the distribution plan and time-line. There appears to be so much mystery. Some of you have been told that they are releasing 5000 at a time or 70000 a day but I have yet to find an official schedule or plan posted by Verizon.
So I continue to wait.
