Gobbledegook in Yahoo Games

I recently gave my wife an upgrade from an HP PC to a 450 MHz B&W Mac running OS 10.2.8, with decent ram and all the software upgrades. A little old, I know, but let's face it, going from a PC to just about any Mac is an upgrade...
Anyway, she likes to play the games at Yahoo, cards & so forth, but she's noticed that in Yahoo Games, the areas which until this point contained text, running comments from other players etc, now contains little boxes with X in them.
Is there some incompatability in Yahoo with Safari, or do we just need to pump up the power to somewhere in the Panther range?

Do the games have their own app versions in your country's App Store that are compatible with iOS 5 ?
If not then you could try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
And try closing Safari via the iPad's taskbar and do a soft-reset and see if that helps. To close Safari : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

So here is what comes to pass.
Recall this started as a Lion Safari/5+ environment that SU took to version 6.
Two weeks ago I just updated Flash Player. Today I fire up Java Preferences and I am told that I need to download Java. Did so, intentionally hit the "factory reset" button and then installed the Flash Player from teh Adobe site. The most recent install suggests automatic update but I choose "ask first."
Restart Safari and we seem to be in order

How do I get my security settings to allow access to yahoo games I have been playing for years and now can't play with this P.O.S. update 26.0 and Java update?

I recently updated my Firefox browser to version 26.0 and my Java to version 7 update 51 and now I can't access any of the Yahoo games I have played for years. I get a box that says "your security settings have blocked an untrusted application from running. Also, the box has two other lines; Name: ygames_applet and Location: http://yog10.games.sp2.yahoo.com. After all this time, this browser and my Chrome browser both give me this crap when I try to log in to yahoo games.

Tiny font in Yahoo games... please help, I'm baffled

I am running Snow Leopard and until a couple of days ago, I played lots of
cards in Yahoo games.   Then I went to play cards and the font in the
games lobby was unreadably small.   This only occurs in this specific situation...
in all other applications the font is perfectly fine.    Since this version of
Snow Leopard only allows me to update software, I'm not sure what else to do.
It seems as if it would be a Java issue, but I don't know what to do about it.

Install sdk crash with window xp, + yahoo game problems

Hi all,
Currently, I have install java sdk, version 1.4.1_02 into two computers, which using Chinese Window XP, before installing sdk, windows act normally.
1. However, after the installation of java, some interface in windows, especially the toolbar of 'Start', the mouse cursor and some interface keep on flashing.
2. I would like to know if those games in yahoo are written by using java, if so, I would like to know why even I using chinese version xp still cannot view they become some random characters) those chinese words in the games.
3. Last question, I would like to know why, when I use a application to write chinese character (those pen -write device), the focus seems go entirely to that application and cannot go back that text field in the yahoo game again?(unless I close that application)

How can I get rid of a vertical ad section in Yahoo games that has popped up on the right and takes 30% of the game window away. I can't get rid of it.

A few days ago, Yahoo decided to put up a vertical section on the right side of the game window that takes up 30% of the screen in the game. I have not been able to get rid of it.
I asked the Yahoo Customer Care rep and she said that it is not supposed to happen as the game should not be stopped by the ads and that I should try with another Browser. I tried it with Chrome and that ad section was not there with Chrome.
I was told that it was probably a browser issue and I did disable most of the add-ons and plug-ins but it did not work.
Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of that vertical ad section?

This problem is not a pop-up. First of all the problem did not start until Yahoo changed their set up for ads in Yahoo Games.
Once it did start, the ads do not "pop-up", it is a vertical bar that is there all the time. You cannot get rid of it.
By the same token, it is not a Yahoo Problem since the problem does not exist using another server.
Yahoo says it has to do with some add-ons or plug-ins in Firefox that is causing the problem.
As you can see by the screen picture, one third of the game screen has a vertical ad area. I want to get rid of it.

Java applet window blocking yahoo games

not a devloper, but I really need some help handling this java problem. when I log onto yahoo games, bar that says "java applet window" blocks the bottom portion of the screen. how can I get rid of this?

i found out how to get older verison of java6-7 verison .
Go to search bar type in OpenOffice.org 3.0 and download this.it will take about 30 minute to download this file.after download this go to add & REMOVE PROGRAM to see if download and if did delete java 6u10 version . email me at [email protected] to see it work

Java update (3 days ago) won't let me play yahoo games anymore. I've tried moving java security to Medium and adding web address as "permissive use". Still nothing. I'd really like a fix. Really, apple? What's your beef with yahoo games?

Installed Java update three days ago. Now, can't play yahoo games as it's now blocked by security settings. Already have tried moving Java security to Medium and adding yahoo.games.com (including web address of game) as a "Permissive exception". Also tried removing java and installing older version. Still nothing. Really Apple?!? What's your beef with yahoo games?

all of the older update versions of Java SE 7 can be found here. If 7u45 also didn’t work with your Yahoo! games, you can choose from any of the even older versions there as well.

In a loop to put in password into yahoo games even though I am signed into Yahoo for my email

I deleted some cookies in yahoo. Now when I am signed into yahoo and try to play a Yahoo game I get stuck in a loop where I am being asked to enter my password. I have reset my password. I have even created a new account and password. Nothing is working. Any suggestions?

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Also make sure that the Yahoo site isn't in the cookie exceptions.
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

I have java installed and properly working as a plug in. Why can I not get into Yahoo games and play Card Games? Where is the firefox button when I have the browser open? Only button that looks like anything for firefox allows me to restore, move, size, minimize, maximize, and close. That button is top left hand corner location.

I recently purchased a second hand new macbook air, although it was second hand to me the previous owner had never actually turned it on.
Something doesn't make sense here, though I'm not saying the previous owner is lying....

Java/font/yahoo games

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Tiger.
Now, when I go to Yahoo Games (specifically Word Racer) the font that is used in the java window that opens is unreadable. Previously, (on Panther) the only browser that would display it clearly was Opera, but now it is the same in any browser that I have tried. (Safari, IE, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Omniweb, iCab).
Anyone know how to remedy?
Need my Word Racer fix!
Maybe I'll just switch to decaf and see if that helps......

We have the same problem in literati. Explorer 5.2 on the old G 3 I-mac is the only browser that works. If safari doesn't work maybe we could call Bill and beg. Our new intel i-mac will not run explorer 5.2.

Unable to increase display size in Yahoo Games Java applet; zoom doesn't work.

My father is vision impaired. He play texas hold em in Yahoo Games. Once the game java applet launches, he needs to make the card display larger. I can't find any way to do this. he's using a PC with Windows 7.

It's unclear if the problems discussed happen after OJC compiles, or Javac compiles, or both. We have uncovered a bug in the compilation of jspx files using OJC. No Sound For Yahoo Games

I am new to using the Beta version of Safari for Windows. Everything is working fine so far except when I try to play some games in Yahoo there is no sound. The game loads and plays fine, but no sound. I have installed all of the plug-ins as recommended by Apple. I even downloaded DirectX, but that did not help. So far this is the only situation I have encountered where the sound does not work.

wow. i can't even get the java to load right in yahoo games. I have to use the click here option and that takes quite a bit of time to load. I don't know about your sound issue though sorry.

Also make sure the file type is not of a DivX. That your camera supports. Which QT for Mac also supports, but the Windows version of QT does not support DivX, so you're not purchasing something for the Windows computer that is not needed?

Please can someone help me with this problem. Ive been playing in yahoo games for a while and recently yahoo have put a code box you have to enter a code in order to get into the games lobby, but when i do this the same page keeps coming up again and again. Ive try'd everything too fix this, ive got a new browser, cleared cache, deleted cookies. ive been told its something too do with my firewall not letting me into yahoo games. i have no idea how too fix this and i want too play pool. That means that the page you loaded has a Java component; the coffee cup should disappear as soon as the Java applet has properly loaded. If it doesn't disappear after a few minutes, the applet may be having trouble operating.
