God example of DMS integration in the SD/MM/PP area??

Hi!
I wonder if anyone has a good example of how to use the DMS object connection to the SAP logistic processes? Is it possible to create a object link and then have this link copied between a material and an order? Please give me some good examples of how to take advantage of the document management system and the ERP system.
Would it be possible to do this for example?
Letu2019s say that you manufacture and sell kitchens. You have a vendor that manufacture customized sinks.
1.     You get an order from your customer and he also sends you a drawing of the sink.
2.     You receive the drawing and create a DIR.
3.     You connect it to the order.
4.     Would it be possible to automatically create a connection to the purchase order and send the document to the vendor? Is there any functionality to support this type of functionality?

You have a drawing connected to a material and then you create a purchase order or a production order with this material. Is it then possible to get a connection from the document to the PO or ProdOrder automatically?

DMS can be linked to other R/3 modules through Object linking which as per standard availablity has to be done by an user..
the requirement as per you need some developments in order to function automatically..

Since this is a school project I recommend you do the work yourself. You will not learn asking others to do it for you. In addition, folks here will not do your homework for you. We are however more than wiling to answer specific questions for you. Post what you have done or tried and ask specific questions. I am confident you will get assistance.
And to answer your question, yes LabVIEW can be used to implement a scheduling program.

SiteMinder integration with the internal and external facing portals

Hi ,
We are in development phase for SiteMinder integration with the internal and external facing portals.The proposed dual authentication scheme which requires both SiteMinder for External facing portal (EFP) and LDAP for Internal portal .is it possible?
and is it possible to main to diff LDAP directories one is external users and one is for internal users.?
If you maintain 2 diff(external & internal) LDAP Directories in Siteminder Policy Server what about external users which are not exit in portal data source .
I appreciate if anyone can help me for my above query .

Hey Tag,
We do have a physical external Portal and a physical internal portal. The both the external and internal are connected to 2 LDAP directories.
For example the External Portal is connected to the Employee LDAP Direcotry and the Customer LDAP Directory. The Internal Portal is connected to the US Employee LDAP Direcotry and the EMEA LDAP Directory.
So each one of them is connected to 2 different LDAP Directories.
I believe that the Siteminder Policy is setup such that the Internal portal has a policy and the External portal has a seperate policy on the same Siteminder Server. Then each of the Policies is configured to connect to the approiate LDAP Directories.
You have to maintain the LDAP Directory information in both the portal and Siteminder Policy Server. It is required in the policy server so that it can authenticate the user and it is required in the Portal server so that it can authorize the user and display content based on thier assigned roles.

CProjects DMS Integration

I am working on cProjects and trying to understand integration with Easy DMS.
Can anyone explain the following :
2)What further ability does the integration offer in addition to the document management functionality in cProjects? I understand that the documents are stored in DMS as Document Inforecord with integration.
3) Can a user create document Info records in DMS from cProjects or does cProjects just allow the user to link to a record created in EDMS ?
4) And finally, could some one direct me to any documentation on cProjects and Easy DMS Integration, if any ?

Hello, you can create Document Info record directly from cProjects. First step you need to define in the "Define Project type". You need to check the box for SAP DMS. Also inside cross application for DMS, go inside define document types and you have to include the object "DPR_OBJLINK" for the document type that you would be interested. Once inside cProjects, SAP DMS button would be visible and you may proceed creating Document Info record. It automatically creates in the backend SAP system. You can also load the documents inside that. In case you need more information please let me know your email address and I would send you the screen shots.

Autovue dms integration

Hi,
We use the Documentum integration from Autovue.
The integration works fine, but we can't save markups in Documentum.
First off all, we supposed that it would work out off the box, but this doesn't seems to work.
Then we tried several things, all without success:
- extend the applet and override some methods
This gave an issue to open the new applet
- Add javascript to the applet
This is not an easy way to interact with the markups
- Extend the vueservlet
This was very time consuming, because we had to extend the Documentum implementation, there was no example or java files
- Extend the Save Action
Same issue as with the servlet, there is no documentation to extend the Documentum implementation
Can someone please help us to get the best solution to get this working?

Use following basic steps to configure the DMS for WBS & Network Actvities.
1) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management System -
    > Control Data -> Define Number Ranges for Document Numbers.
    Here you can use Internal or External Number Range for saving the documents.
2) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management System -
    > Control Data -> Define Document Types
    Here you have to add various Document Types (must be 3 char) as per your requirement
    For Example.:
    COM     Comparitive Statemnt
    MMB     Measurement Book
    MPR     Monthly Work Proggs
3) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management
    System -> Control Data -> Define Document Types -> Define Document Status. ( Not Mandatory )
    Document status is used to show the current status of yr document.
    For Example:
    IW - In Work
    RE - Released
    CR - Change Request
    AR - Archieved
4) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management
    System -> Control Data -> Define Document Types -> Define Object links.
    If you want to attach the documents to WBS Element & Network Actvity add following Objects by     using above menu path
PRPS - WBS Element
VORGNET - Network
If you are going to store the DMS documents in same R/3 Server follow the below menu path, here you must take help of your BASIS Consultant
5) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management
    System -> General Data -> Define Data Carrier.
If you are going to store the DMS documents in Seperate DMS Server follow the below menu path, here you must take help of your BASIS Consultant
6) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management
    System -> General Data -> Settings for Storage Systems > Maintain Storage System & Maintain Storage Category
7) SPRO / IMG -> Cross - Application Component -> Document Management
    System -> General Data -> Define Work Station Application

On tight integration with the shell (a pager and a browser)

I just hacked together a bunch of scripts that implement a pager and browser tightly integrated to the shell.
Slogan:
Monolithic programs prevent synergy. Tight integration with the shell promotes synergy, and is closer to the UNIX philosophy.
(Furthermore, it enables workflows that would otherwise require a mouse. It enhances accessability.)
Background:
Some time ago I stumbled upon the nmh and mh mail clients (implementation in mailutils). I was interested by the concept, and surprised that they are not more popular. (One big problem with them is the lack of modern mailbox support, lack of IMAP, and such.)
Anyway, they allow really tight integration with the shell. Another such application is taskwarrior [pkg].
Example:
Using taskwarrior and mh it is very easy to add a task description to an email. In the other direction, one can easily annotate a task with an email.
I realised git [pkg] is also such an app. To illustrate what I do not want: You do not use the command `git` to enter a monolith, that provides its own shell:
[user@host ~]$ git
git> add myfile
git> commit
git> push origin master
git> quit
[user@host ~]$
That would feel really stupid, right? Another program that illustrates what I mean is surfraw [pkg] (usually abbreviated to sr).
Ok, so far for background and illustration. On to my scripts.
My scripts
Warning: First of all, I want to stress that I am a bad programmer, my scripts are very fragile, and they provide a crude user experience. This is really just a proof of concept.
Consider the following scenario.
Scenario:
Suppose you are logged in to some server via ssh. No mouse, no X, no screen or tmux. You are writing an email, and want to quote some text from Wikipedia. What do you do?
I provide some scripts that give a crude browser and page tightly integrated with the shell. The pager p is akin to less (or more) but just dumps its output in the terminal. You use pd (page down) pu (page up) pj and pk (scroll 3 lines down/up) to navigate throught the output.
The browser b just runs a URL through elinks -dump and saves the output in a cache file. Typically, one would pipe the output of b through p. Further bl n follows link number n. Further bcur just prints the output of the cache file to the terminal (for example to pipe it through p if one had not done that yet).
The bundles of scripts are available at https://github.com/jcommelin/p and https://github.com/jcommelin/b .
Back to the scenario. With my scripts I can now do:
[user@host ~]$ sr wikipedia linux | p # sr the linux wiki page, pipe through p
[user@host ~]$ pd # page down
[user@host ~]$ pd
[user@host ~]$ pj 10 # scroll 10 lines down
[user@host ~]$ pcur | tail -12 >> email.txt # select last 12 lines of current paging, append to email
(I obviously did not print the output of the commands, as they would fill the entire screen.)

Other apps that take the `tight integration' approach.
A niche of apps still lacking such a program.
Feedback on my scripts (I don't mind converting stuff to C. It should become pretty robust in the end.)

I am using CGI Vis examples in LV6.1, and the VI simply opens when I click on a link. What am I doing wrong?

I am running Labview 6.1 and am simply trying to learn about the CGI VIs from the examples. I set up the Web Server root directory and I have the cgi-bin directory in it. When I view the provided index.htm file using http://localhost/index.htm, I see the web server document (so the server is working???). I go to the CGI examples and click on the link for CGI Basics. Everytime I click on the link, the vi tries to download with a prompt for SAVE or OPEN. If OPEN is selected the vi opens but does not run. I thought it might be a problem with the browser being on the same machine, so I went to a machine without Labview installed and it still tries to download th
e vi locally from the server. I assumed from the documentation that the vi runs on the server and sends a request back in html form. I must have missing something or setup wrong. Any help would be deeply appreciated!

I am not sure what the problem could be and I am a little confused about the exact steps you took. I launch LabVIEW, start the HTTP server, point my web browser to http://localhost/index.htm. This brings of a page entitled G Web server. I click on the button to "View CGI Examples" which redirects by browser to http://localhost/examples/index.htm . I click on CGI Basics and go to http://localhost/examples/basics.htm .
This page has four groups of examples and within each group there are several examples. All of the examples I clicked on redirected my browser. Is this what you see?
Was the message to save or open from the browser or from LabVIEW? If it was from LabVIEW, then you might consider mass compiling the VIs on your computer. You can do this
by opening LabVIEW >> tools >> advanced >> mass compile.
You might also try a reinstall of the Internet Toolkit. The examples may have been corrupted.
Finally, LabVIEW 6.1 introduced remote front panels. You might find them easier to use than CGI scripting.

Hello, I have a sql 2005 server, and I am a developer, with the database on my own machine. It alwayws works for me but after some minutes the other developer cant work in the application

and When I see the log event after that error, it comes with another error.

He has IIS5 and me too.
I created a user on the domain called ASPSYS with password, then in the IIS on anonymous authentication I put that user with that password, and it works, on both machines.

I've already ensured that the server is set to mixed authentication mode. Oddly enough, the workaround that I've found is that if I remote desktop into the server, log in and then log back out, Management Studio is suddenly able to connect again. No idea why it works.
As I said before, it is intermitten. Some days it errors on login, other days it doesn't and there are no configuration changes between them. Also, both client and server are in the same domain and same site so there is no VPN or anything in between. I'm really quite stumped. Any help would be great, or if you can point me in the right direction of where to look. Thank you in advance!
