God help us from 'improvements' to the service - B...
My computer has been running as if its been encased in glue for the last 2 days. It seems that BT Cloud has opted to back up 9,077 of my files (only 0.46 GB). I don't know why, I thought it had done most of them already and only needed to do a bit of housekeeping on a daily basis, I only update a few files on a regular basis. BT Cloud seems to backing them up at an agonisingly slow rate.
I failed to log into a site after at least 12 attempts, and why? Every time I typed in the password the letters/numbers were so slow at responding I was typing it incorrectly.
BT Cloud has been offered as an alternative to BT Digital Vault, but it appears to be nothing like BT Digital Vault. I hardly used to be aware that BT Digital Vault was running, it just quietly did its job in the background. BT Cloud however seems to hog my computers resources to the extent that I can barely do anything else at the same time as it's running. I've changed the priorities in the Windows Task Manager but it seems to be barely having any effect.
After 2 days of this BT Cloud is currently down to a remaining 2830 files.
This has been a known problem with BT Cloud since the very beginning - no matter what it is doing it simply hogs every spare CPU cycle on your machine and runs it at 100%.
No one from BT appears to have any interest in solving the problem and no-one has told me when it will be fixed.
In the meantime I suggest you do what I have done - switched off BT Cloud and bought a standalone HDD to which I backup my files regularly using Microsoft Backup.
BT Cloud is a complete and utter waste of space.

You can ask Apple support for the replacement receipt, this receipt would have the old iphone information(including Imei) and the replacement iphone information.
I had a problem like you and they sent me that information, then with the old imei you can unlock your iphone
Another way to take the old iphone imei, you can look for the original iphone box, yep, the one i hope you saved carefully somewhere in your house hahaha. The imei is showed on the bottom of the box down-right corner.

No Service and warranty support from Lenovo in the Service Center for K900... HCL Touch Jalandhar.
I recently bought this phone on 25th day of Octuber 2013. And 17 days earlier while using the phone it suddenly restarted itself then never detects any sim card. After that I checked the sim card, cleaned it with a cloth and reinserted it in the phone but the phone didn't detects it, also tried other sim cards but no sim was detected in the phone. Then I made a call in the Lenovo smartphone customer care and I told them about the problem in the phone and they gave me addresses and numbers of two service centers; first in Chandigarh and second in Jalandhar. Jalandhar was the nearest SC for me, so I visited the authorised Service center of Lenovo in Jalandhar city "Logic Computers C o HCL Care" then I gave the phone to their technician for inspection. After throughly inspecting the phone he announced that the phone's motherboard have to be replaced wih the new MB as the sim card slot is not working. Then they returned my phone and told me that the complaint for this handset is registered with them and I will be called whenever the motherboard reaches the SC. Now its already 16th day from the day I registered the complaint but I didn't received any message or call from the SC; instead I called them twice and they just have one answer that the complaint is under processing in the system and the part is not available in the company. They also told me that it might takes an month or never be repaired as the company is very irresponsible for after sale service support. Sol there's no support and warranty for the Lenovo Smartphones in India. It was my first Lenovo product and it just failed to prove that they worth the cost. If Lenovo Support really exist in India please replace or repair my phone as I had spent Rs 24000 over it. My complaint number is SRIN0701404240002; the complaint is registered by "Vaishnav Anand". Please prove yourself or I will spread all about your Bad Service Support all over the internet and registered a case against you in Consumer Court. Thanks

Finally I've got another DVD recovery set from Lenovo. Now it works. Seems that the first DVD set was invalid .

How do you stop the help window from floating to the top?
Is there way to change the help window's behavior so that it acts like a normal window?
It takes so long to set up seeing the problem and the help at the same time, then go back to reading and then back again.

That depends on your POV. Some may prefer the default behaviour, because it doesn't allow the help window to be hidden by the working window.
Also, keep in mind that you can use the Minimise (yellow) button in the window's title bar.
However, if you really want to change the default floating window, there is a preference you can change with the defaults command:
$ defaults write com.apple.helpviewer NormalWindow -bool true
Alternatively, you can enable Help Viewer's developer mode
$ defaults write com.apple.helpviewer DevMode -bool true

Need Help Rejected from itunes For the Second Time
Hello, I just wanted to know does anybody know why my feed get getting rejected from itunes, I talk to tune support team,when thru all the tech spec, pass the feed validation, and upload the podcast to a least 10 different computers and it work perfect. This is what i keep getting from itunes

bruceYou will understand that this is a user-to-user forum and I don't have access to the inner workings of the Store; so what I have to say is effectively guesswork.
There appears to be no technical problem with your feed - that at least isn't a guess - but your podcast consists of 'mixes' of recordings which you list. A possible explanation is concern that you are making use of copyright material for which you haven't either obtained written permission from the copyright owners, or a valid podcasting licence from a recognized authority. Making use of commercially issued (or indeed any) material without the permission of the owners is a breach of copyright, and is one of the reasons listed by Apple for podcast rejection (the others don't appear to apply here) - Apple could be be held jointly liable and sued (as could you).
If you have in fact obtained the necessary clearances you will need to find some way of communicating this to Apple. -

I purchased my imac intel 21" 3-4 weeks ago and in the 2nd week i faced an issue with the machine. When i switched on in, there was a fan noise and a white screen. The machine had hanged. I reported the problem and gave to the service centre. After testing for a week, they said that there is no problem with the imac. Again i faced the same problem after receiving it from the service centre. They again tested the machine for 3-4 days and reported as no problem with the machine. Couple of days back, I received the machine from the service centre, and on the same day when i switched it on, there are flickers in the display. Please help me solve the issue. I am from India. The service here is very bad.

Yes I agree with seventy one. It's common sense to do this, especially now. I would also contact AppleCare and report this issue with them, it will get documented and you will have a caseID that you can refer to when talking to them in the future should this issue go one.
Be polite with AppleCare and your AASP. Hopefully everyone is being honest and trying to help you and not what might appear to be the opposite.
Patience is a virtue, but I thoroughly understand your frustration.
Let us know how it goes, we are here to help in whatever way we can.
I encourage you to contact AppleCare to report this experience and get their recommendations. There is an expectation that you should have that AppleCare is there to help you as a customer. I am sure they will too! -
Help Menu Keeps coming to the front
Is there a way to stop the Help Menu from always being the top window? When trying to find something in the Help Menu, it always stays on the top and I can not get to the windows behind it. Is this a preference somewhere?
No, that seems to be the way it does it!
What you can do is move the application window to the right of your screen and keep the Help window on the left.
That way you can at least see both as well as switching from one to the other! -
Officially unlocked iPhone from Canada in the US

If you have to get a replacement phone for any reason, you will probably have to get it from Canada. The service replacements stocked at US Apple Stores are locked to AT&T.

I have one iphone 5 16 gb white colour with me and its in still under warranty and my phone was fallen down by chance and it got turned off totally and not even switched on also then i went to apple authorised service center for regarding the same . then service center people said that sir you need to submit your phone , after that i left my phone to service center and after two days i have got one call from service center that sir your phone is under phisical damaged condition so u will not be abel to get warranty from apple this will cover under paid replacement and you need to talk to apple customer care also regarding this .same .
Then i called up to apple customer care and they said sir we have got some images from the service center regarding your phone and we found that your logic board is damaged from inside and you would not be abel to get the paid replacement also you need to buy a new phone on stock price i was shocked on that time why would i pay 40 to 50 thouasnd again on iphone if its not that much stronger to take bit of imapcts like this

So I gave it a "global port range" of 1-10 and I indicated that the "base host port" was 80, 1025, & 9000 (ports 1,2,3). When I selected the 'enable' it asked for a "host devise" my choices are my IPhone, IMac and the IP address for the dvr, so I choose the dvr. I still cannot connect and canyouseeme still can NOT find these open ports. This is taking up my whole day! I don't know how people figure this stuff out.

Can you please help me. I purchased the new Apple I 4s phone from AT&T. I bought it out right. NO CONTRACT!! I paid almost $1000.00 for it. I then, had it enrolled it in my company's ATT service plan. They paid the bill for my service. Since, I have left the company. I have retained, and assumed financial responsibility for the phone, and the phone number with AT&T. The same day I assumed ifinancial responsibility, I had the phone number ported to a new service provider. ( Straight Talk ) After doing so, my phone worked fine. (as far as cellular service) NO DATA Service !!!! I have been on the phone with AT&T, Straight Talk, and Apple, FOR HOURS over TWO days!!! Trying to get this problem resolved. All I need to do, is change my APN settings (access point name ) settings. Its my phone!!! Why does any body have this APN menu locked from me??? I've been on the phone for two days between, AT&T, Straight Talk, and Apple products technical support teams. Everybody points the finger at the next guy!! What can I do to get the phone, that I paid for, work for more than just a phone, and a paper weigh?

There is nothing that anyone here on a user forum can do to help you. If it is a local issue in Syria, then you need to take it up with your phone company or authorities there who have prevented you from using VPN.

YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that. -

I've twice tried to use iTunes match. It stalls in step 2. I've rebooted my iMac computer and it still stalls. Apple's taken the $25 but not delivered the service. Can I get some personal help? There are 12,733 songs, a few dozen of which are not going to be in the Apple music library because they are unique to my collection. Also, some titled "Track XX" and no artist. I assume these would either not upload or else just be uploaded. But, after an overnight of step 2, the iTunes match program was still on song number 7384 or 12733 (it was on that number for over 12 hours). Looking in the music library, activating the iCloud icon and status fields, there were hundreds of songs with the status "waiting."

Well it could still be a software problem if you installed a third party program after the OS X wipe and install, because by booting into Safe Mode it disables certain functions of OS X and hardware. Check for updates or problems for all your third party software, include everything, including menulets, System Preference panes, hacks and so forth.
If you restored any sort of software from backup like TimeMachine, it likely was corrupted data and now is returned.
If the college tech support found a lot of dust clogging the rear exhaust vents behind the fans, then likely the heat damage done to the machine has already occured and can't be reversed. Video cards are usually first to go, which Safe Mode does disable the video card somewhat.
Run through this list of fixes, it's systematic in nature, also has a Hardware Test to see what's going on
