Goggle export of contacts in csv forma

Hi, I'm looking for some code that could help me in parsing an imported string (via readUTFBytes)of a  goggle export of contacts in csv format. I would like to put each contact into a row in an ArrayCollection

I found this code from http://www.sitepoint.com/forums//showthread.php?t=572709# but it doesn't work to good
var properties:Array = new Array();
                var headings:Boolean = false;
                var carriage:Number = new Number();
                var comma:Number = new Number();
                var cursor:Number = new Number();
                var sub:Number = new Number();
                var item:Object = new Object();
                var value:String = new String();
                var line:String = new String();
                var contacts:Array = new Array();
                var result:String = file.data.readUTF();
                while( result.indexOf( "\n", cursor ) != -1 ) {
                    carriage = result.indexOf( "\n", cursor );
                    line = result.substring( cursor, carriage );
                    cursor = 0;
                    sub = 0;
                    item = new Object();
                    while( line.indexOf( ",", cursor ) != -1 ) {
                        comma = line.indexOf( ",", cursor );
                        value = line.substring( cursor, comma );
                        if( !headings ) {
                            properties.push( value );
                        } else {
                            item[properties[sub]] = value;
                            //trace("email:\n" + value.toString());
                        cursor = comma + 1;
                        sub++;
                    value = line.substring( cursor, line.length - 1 );
                    if( !headings ) {
                        properties.push( value );
                        headings = true;
                        //trace("headings:\n" + value.toString());
                    } else {
                        item[properties[sub]] = value;
                        contacts.push( item );
                        //trace("contact:\n" + item.Name.toString());

  • How do I export phone contacts into CSV file?

    I can't seem to export the contacts in my iPhone into a CSV file so I can import them into Yahoo Mail or Gmail to edit.

    Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer. This is so common with Windows users - here anyway - not having contacts available on their computer. How does one get by without having contact info available on their computer, or having email addresses only for contacts on their computer, telephone numbers only for contacts on their cell phone, and mailing addresses who knows where? Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone only for contact info - along with having to manually enter all contact info on a cell phone, which can be lost or stolen.
    With Windoze, you can sync contacts with Outlook 2003 or 2007 along with syncing calendar events, or with the address book used by Outlook Express or by Windows Mail (depending on the Windoze version) called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only. You may not have Outlook 2003 or 2007, but you have Windows Contacts available.
    If Windows Contacts is empty - no contact info, before the first sync enter one contact in Windows Contacts. Make the contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. Syncing contacts with Windows Contacts is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
    After your contacts are available in Windows Contacts, you can export the contacts from there in a CSV file for import by Yahoo or Gmail.

  • EXPORT to text or CSV format from a form

    Dear all,
    Could you please help me to export the data from my form to a text file or to a csv format. I am very new to forms.
    i need to export the data from the oracle form to a text file or CSV file format.
    I had created form named as form1.
    In form1 i have a block named as block1. In this block i have 4fields as field1, field2, field3, field4. using a tabe1 which has the same 4fields.
    This form is in tabular form.
    Example:
    In the form i have data like as below and i got this data from table1. I used a execute query to get the data from the table into this form.
    field1 field2 field3 field4
    raj 1234 abc 510
    dil 777 hi 787
    Now my requirement is i need to export this data into a file, when i click on a button(Export) it has to browse for a folder on my desktop and i have to name the filename to save the data.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    This should be almost same as in your previous task for import data.
    Try this:
    DECLARE
       v_file_name   VARCHAR2 (100);
       v_file        client_text_io.file_type;
       v_delimiter VARCHAR2(1) := ',';
    BEGIN
       v_file_name := webutil_file.file_save_dialog;
       v_file := client_text_io.fopen (v_file_name, 'w');
       GO_BLOCK ('block1');
       FIRST_RECORD;
       LOOP
            client_text_io.PUT_LINE(v_file, :block1.field1||v_delimiter||:BLOCK1.field2||v_delimiter||:BLOCK1.field3||v_delimiter||:BLOCK1.field4);
        IF :SYSTEM.LAST_RECORD = 'TRUE' THEN
             EXIT;
        END IF;
        NEXT_RECORD;
       END LOOP;
       client_text_io.fclose (v_file);
    END;

  • How to Export Address Book contacts as CSV file for Gmail?

    Hi
    I wish to export some of my Address Book contacts towards Gmail (which i use through the web interface for now) but I don't want to export vcards as i don't trust big brother Google with all the other data (snail mail, phone numbers, birthdays, etc).
    I have tried to do the export through Address Book but found no CSV export option.
    I've searched the forum for an answer, but to no avail. Some other (paying) websites claim to offer solutions but the "pay before you see" deters me from using them.
    Any tip on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Scripts and software also welcome, if shareware/freeware.

    Thanks for your answer, but gmail's help specifically states one can import contacts in CSV format and i was looking for a simple batch solution.
    Here is a link to the relevant gmail page (might be in French - am not a "Froguette" for nothing ;)) about importing:

    So my question still stands.

    Hello Ben,
    Per my knowledge, you cannot use Exchange Management Shell to export the contacts in public folder to csv file.
    If you want to export contacts in public folder to a csv file, you can follow this way to do that:
    Open Outlook and create a Temp Contact Folder
    Move all the contacts to the Temp Contact Folder
    Use Outlook export contacts to csv file .

  • Exporting selected contacts from Outlook 2011 for Mac

    I've wanted to easily export a set of selected contacts from Outlook in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011.  I've been through many threads about synching to Address Book and then exporting, but I've found a host of troubles, including duplicate copies of contacts being created.
    So, I finally broke down and wrote an AppleScript script to export all of the currently selected contacts from Outlook to a file in either vcf (vcard) or csv (comma separated value) format.  The best use of this script is to:
    -- Install this as a script in Microsoft Outlook by saving the script below to Documents>Microsoft User Data>Outlook Script Menu Items
    -- Change to your Contacts in Outlook.  Use the Outlook search bar to find the contacts you want to export.  You might search by name, category, company, or anything else that identifies the contacts you want to export.  Or, you might just leave the view showing all contacts.
    -- Select the contacts you want to export
    -- Launch the script
    The script will have you select between vcard and csv and select a destination file.  This hasn't been optimized for speed, so if you're exporting 100's or 1,000's of contacts, be patient.  And there isn't a progress bar at present, so you have to wait.  It will display an alert when it's complete.
    Sorry not to have a download location for you.  You'll just have to copy the script text :-).  Keep in mind there's been some but limited testing.  Read the comments for details.  And enjoy.

    --  Outlook allows a contact to have more than one of each type of email address

    --  columns in the csv like "other email 1" and "other email 2", but that's not
    --  supported in this version.
    --  Another note.  In this version, any embedded "return" or "linefeed" characters
    --  found in a property of a contact are converted to a space.  That means that
    --  notes, in particular, will be reformated.  That said, this gets arond a problem
    --  with embedded carriage returns in address fields that throw off importing
    --  the csv file.
    --  Also note that at this time IM addresses aren't supported, but it's an easy add

  • Export rich text from Adobe Form to MS Word or MS Excel

    Hi,
    I have created a form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro. It consists of some text fields, where formatting of the text is important. I have chosen allow rich text formatting in the textfield and that works fine. Export to Excel via .csv works fine, but formatting is of course lost.
    I will receive many forms back, and would like to automate as much of the process as possible. My question is if there is any way to do a batch export of a certain text field including the formatting to either MS word or Excel?
    An alternative might be to export only the specific text field from all collected forms to a one PDF File and copy paste this into word.
    If I can get this to work, everything should work as planned.
    Sorry if this has been asked before. Have done numerous searches, so far without result.
    Best regards,
    mlang1111

    Probably, the font used isn't installed in your system, and the creator of the PDF file didn't embed it properly.

  • Exporting Address Book to .csv file

    I am trying to export my contacts from Address Book to a ".csv" file. The only export options I am seeing are "Export vCard file..." and "Back-up Address Book". I find it very hard to believe that there isn't a way for me to extract my contacts and view them in a spreadsheet format. Does anyone have any insight on this?

    Hi aritschfox, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Might give this a try...

  • Converting contacts to CSV or Excel issue

    Does anyone know how to convert the Z10 contacts to CSV or Excel, the ONE app in apworld doesnt do it.
    I want to get rid of my z10 and go to a different manufacturer, Ive used Blackberry for years and now want to take my contacts with me, this Z10 is a nightmare. The facebook app doesnt work properly, I cant tag photos. The camera is horrible indoors and always so grainy. The browser is annoying as I cant simply close out of something I have to make a bunch of swipes. I really wish I hadnt of traded in my old BB it just worked and was a message powerhouse. Accessing messages on this is to complicated and everything is so jumbled with all the accounts BEHIND everything else. Anyways theres more but really i just want to take my contacts and leave BB behind.

    Address Book only exports vCards. You can use a third-party utility for your task:
    Address Book to CSV Exporter 1.3a
    Export Address Book - 1.5.1
    You will find them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • PC Suite export arabic contact encoding

    Hi all,
    I tried to export my contacts using PC suite last version, my contacts names contains arabic characters, i can browse it properly from PC suite and they are readable, but when I export from PC suite using contact > file > export to csv file, and when open it in excel or notepad, the Arabic names become " ????? ???",
    i have tried to import the csv file with excel wizard and select eh Arabic windows encoding or Arabic ISO but it doesn't work too.
    Please help me,
    Thank you
    Regards

    Please, try UTF-8 or UTF-16 as well. However, I experienced similar issues. Try to drag-and-drop them. That creates a vCard which you could parse yourself with a script or an existing app (which handles character encodings correctly).

  • Problem Importing Contacts from CSV to Outlook 365 Home Premium

    I have exported contacts from gmail to Outlook CSV format, unable to import to Outlook 365.  Error suggests:
    There was a problem importing your contacts.
    Phone numbers and websites can only contain English characters (a-z or A-Z), numbers (0-9), and specific symbols (such as @). Please try again.
    I exported from Outlook 365 a CSV file and column by column copy/value pasted the data from the gmail generated file to the Outlook 365 (People) CSV and saved.  I also searched for any such vaguely referenced trouble spot character and removed anything
    that feel out of description (I didn't find anything obvious)
    characters left in place on emails were (underscore _), characters left in several phone numbers were (comma's , (pause prompts)).  I may have a phone number or 2 that also contain the English character "x".
    Please help

    Hi,
    Make sure you exported the Gmail contacts as Outlook CSV format.
    In addition, you can also try exporting the contacts as the vCard format, test if it can be imported into Outlook properly.
    If you deleted the column of phone, import the contacts into Outlook, will the same error show up?
    If you have an Outlook.com account, you can try import the contacts to Outlook.com, create the Outlook.com account in Outlook, after the contacts sync completes, move the contacts to the target account.
