Going Back to Firmware 1.1.2...A Different Way?

OK, I'm looking to go back to firmware 1.1.2 without totally dismantling iTunes on my computer. Then I had this idea: my sister is still running iTunes 6.0.4 on her computer, so could I possibly connect my iPod to her machine and do a restore with iPod Updater 2006-06-28? Then take my iPod home, dock it on my machine which is running iTunes 7.0, get all my music and playlists back, and then not update to firmware 1.2?
I have my own user account on her PC (Windows XP, like mine), and have iTunes 6.0.4 on there, but it's totally empty. Would that work, to connect to her machine in order to revert back to the prior version of iPod firmware? Or is there some catch that I'm overlooking? I don't want to jack things up any worse if I can help it.

I haven't had any problem with the 1.2 ver, except that I was unable to control my ipod from my car, let me explain, maybe this can help someone else.
I have a Pioneer DEH-1PY car stereo with the CB-100 ipod adapter, before the 1.2 I was able to control the iPod from the stereo and/or from the iPod itself, but after the update I couldn't see the iPod screen anymore, I would just see a Pioneer logo on my iPod screen and hear the music from the stereo, I couldn't access playlists, video, etc, totaly frustrating. After the downgrade you suggested everything is back to normal... so thanks again!

This might help for a while and if you do it from time to time, it might continue to help.
Clear Safari, close all apps on your iPad and reset the device.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
In order to close apps in iOS 5 or iOS 6, first tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I have reset the phone, full firmware restore, even downgraded back from firmware 4.2.1 to .3.1.3 official by using dfu mode and still doesnt fix.
(i correctly got out of dfu mode after the downgrade)
i can enter dfu mode and recovery, and update through itunes with no problem, but it doesnt fix the problem,
i have searched and found no answer to this problem, every option availible to try that i know of i have tried and failed. i dont care about preserving my content i just want a fix. i have a good understanding how to operate software on a computer and shouldnt be too confused by any advice given, so plz even if the answer is very complex i wish to try anything, please help me to get my iphone working.

Music app forgets which song I was currently on and goes back to a previous track played several songs ago.

I believe this issue may be reverting to this specific track several songs ago because that was the last time I had my music app specifically open/unlocked.
This has happened a couple of times now but I'll describe the last time.
I was checking the current song playing by opening the music app (unlocking the ipod and loading the music app specifically)
The ipod then played several songs after that (about 5-6 songs after the one I last checked)
I unplugged my ipod from the car, continued to use it at home but not playing any music. (I didn't respring or power off/on)
The next morning I plug the ipod into the car and it's back to the song that was playing 5-6 songs ago the previous day. I have to hit next track several times to pick up where I left off.
I'm used to the ipod forgetting specifically what place it was in the song I was last playing if I use it for non-music functions inbetween using it for music, but now it's going back several songs prior to where I last left off.
The only thing different with my ipod lately is I upgraded my firmware to 6.1 after doing a restore and restoring from back up.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Laptop goes back to sleep after closing and opening lid

When I close the lid to put the computer to sleep and then reopen the lid, the computer comes back on briefly and then goes back to sleep. It will come back on if I unplug the SafMag. I've reset the SMC following the on-line instructions; I currently have SMC firmware 1.41f2.

Any advice?

Long delay going back to coverflow

From cover flow I press play to start playing an album (that works)
now one the song is playing, I believe that if I press MENU it should go back up to coverflow, but it doesn't happen.
I have to hold menu for about a full second and it goes back to the main menu with "music" selected.
Is this the expected behavior? I could have sworn that a few days ago it simply went back up to coverflow, making it easier to switch to a different album.
Not that if I do a short click on the menu button while the album is playing, nothing happens.
I think this started happening after I updated my library to a full set of albums (450+ albums and 6500+ tracks)
Is there a bug in the firmware that makes it misbehave with large libraries? I still have another 100+ CDs to add (my whole classical collection)

Mine can take around two seconds from clicking Menu to the Cover Flow showing. I'm sure the iPod could do a better job of caching the data that's going to be needed (not least because it had it all when you selected the album that's playing) but it's not a big deal - I just forget the lag every now and again and press menu twice when I don't want to. I've got about 22,000 tracks on it.

I resolved my problème; i made a new installation of tiger10.4;7.
What happen's ? . I don't know but i didn't have to reinstall Windows XP it kept safe in theses manipulations.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

i had this problem on 5.0.1 Firmware, sometimes it would fix using the Airplane Mode Switch (turning it off and turning it back on)..

After you download the firmware file as specified in the article, place the iPod in recovery mode and then do the restore/update using the instructions in the article

Im with O2 and have an E65.
My phone restarts (as did my previous N70 and 6680) when it's in a weak 3G signal area. They have all been fine in strong signal or no 3G signal areas.
Fortunately for me I'm not really bothered about 3G so I switched it off and not had a restart since.
It's about time nokia and O2 got together and looked into this issue.

We went through my friend's phone and my daughter's email and phone number are not in it. I have never given my daughter's iphone number to my friend. Is it something to do with gmail or my apple id? My daughter (14) has been using my computer as her "base" for HER Iphone.
My friend does use her iphone number as an email address as well.
For instance: her phone number might look like this: (493) 305-3958
and her email address would look like this: [email protected]
If I Iphone/email my friend, she receives it as a text message. Then if she replies to that text message, it goes to my daughter's phone and not mine. It's completely crazy! We searched her phone contacts and did not find my daughter's phone number anywhere or attached anywhere to mine. Since when does Iphone emailing wind up in the text messaging area?

Help! On my new iPhone 4S, I can see all of my music and vidoes that I downloaded from itunes that I had previously purchased on my iPhone 4, BUT I can not play any of the songs! When I hit "play" from my 'albums' and 'playlist' or 'songs' it looks like it is going to play the song when the song screen comes up showing the album but then the screen starts flipping from album to album or song to song randomly. Then after flipping thru anywhere from 10-15 songs, it stops and goes back the previous page showing my list of music.... I have synched my phone, restored it and downloaded all of my music and videos. The only things I can get to play from my iPod on my iPhone 4S is my videos, no music. Can anyone help me? I have been trying to figure it out for days and I am a bit frustrated. Thanks in advance for any help I may receive.
