It sounds as if you have Voiceover activated. You should be able to turn it off by triple tapping the Home button.

How do I get the Numbers application unstuck in updating on iPad 2? After the last update of iOS 7 it started acting up. Then weeks ago (in November) I opened the application right after iOS 7.0.4 update and while accessing a file it got stuck, some files are white and I can access them. Other files are gray and I can not open them. The application goes white when it first opens up instead of just opening then there is a delay, then it eventually opens. It is stuck updating.
I have tried various things. 1) Rebooting, 2) hard reboot (holding down the off button and home key until the apple icon appears), 3) tried putting it in Airplane mode-reboot-then connect to computer and iTunes-then rebooted. 4) tried opening a file in another application- I get an error message that says : can't open spreadsheet- this spreadsheet is updating, wait for it to finish then try opening. 5) sending spreadsheet- I get an error message that says : this spreadsheet is updating, wait for it to finish then try sending. None of these have worked.
I am at my wits end I use these files for my business and I am self-employed, some files I can't access at all, this is very serious for me. If you know how to fix this please help me. I transferred all of my NECESSARY and IMPORTANT client files to Numbers from Excel, I've been using Numbers successfully for about 1 year.

Question: I am using a mac , wired Keyboard, on a windows 8.1 platform ( this is because I have boot camped my hard drive) Unfortunately when I change over from my mac set up into the windows 8.1 the key board does not behave like it does when I am using as a mac. The numbers , on the right of the keyboard , no longer function and I have to use the numbers at the top of the keyboard, very annoying. Can anybody let me know how I unlock the numbers on the right of my keyboard?

I have stated every issue I’ve had so far in a fairly clear and concise way. I think if you read what I wrote, it all makes logical sense as to what is going on. Windows 7/8 would work just as well on a Mac if it was supported the same way the OS is for other OEMs.
As I stated earlier in the post, I’m having these same issues in windows 8, not just 8.1, which is the reason for the post. I know the difference between supported by drivers and not supported by the manufacturer. The fact that when Haswell mbp’s came out and no revision to bootcamp for the new hardware was released to fix issues with installing windows on the new hardware shows Apple clearly Is not supporting bootcamp as strongly as they advertise.
I am being realistic on Apple having drivers early. Anyone with an MSDN subscription can download the RELEASE version of windows months ahead of the actual release, I’m 100% sure if any average consumer can do that by paying $100 and saying they are a developer, apple can do it just as easily.
You aren’t much help, you haven’t answered really anything to my post, nor have you contributed any knowledge that wasn’t clearly posted above, so don’t say anything if you don’t have anything to contribute.
By the way, my rant is directed at apple, as you can see because I am saying “Apple, if you are going to…” because this is an Apple forum on Apple’s website. It is not directed to end users, clearly.

After updating to iOS8, the Numbers app crashes every time I try to use my attendance sheet.

I have updated to iOS8.0.2 and I've updated the Numbers app. I generally use my iPad (4th gen, with retina display) to take attendance with the template in the Numbers app. However, every time I scroll through a page with check buttons, the app crashes. This did not happen before updating. Is there a way to get this on Apple's radar, as it seems to be an instability in iOS8? Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

I suggest you try another app.
All of the "Office" document editing applications on the iPad have limitations. Best try them out to see if they meet your needs.

Can we put the numbers before the alphabet?

I recently downloaded the new iTunes, and one thing that's really irritated me is the fact that iTunes now puts numerical artists (ex. 30 Seconds To Mars) at the bottom of the library, as opposed to where they used to be - at the top, where they belong.
I've also noticed that special characters, like exclamation points (which I found helpful when I wanted all of my, say, remixes to be moved to the top of my albums library), are no longer relevant, so that my Alanis Morissette !Remixes album would come between Jagged Little Pill and So-Called Chaos, as if there was no exclamation point at all.
My question is, is there any way to revert back to the old iTunes way of organizing, wherein the numbers and special characters were at the top?

Why are you doing one song at a time?
You only need to do one single song.
Change one song and then on that same song right click Apply Sort Field - Sort Artist. iTunes will change all songs that are the same artist.
Select one song.
Right click - get info and change the Sort Artist to AA 30 SEconds to Mars then click Apply.
Right click on that same song then pick Apply Sort Field -> Same Artist.
It will pick all songs by 30 Seconds to Mars and add AA 30 Seconds to Mars to all their songs.
*then highlight all 30 Seconds To Mars and click the Apply Sort Field of Sort Artist, iTunes erases the info I gave to the 3 songs and I am back to where I started.*
Because your mouse is on a song with nothing in the Sort Artist field.

My question this time. I have used this board in the past-maybe it wasn't the GD65. But I noticed when looking at the pics. It has an Extra 6 pin plug for the board. So along with the 8 pin and the 24 pin. Do you have to plug in the 6 pin too, even if your Video card already has 2 of the 6 pins?
Do I plug a 6 pin in the board----And Plug the 2 six pins in the Video Card. Is the 6 pin that goes into the board the same plug as the 6 pin that goes into the card? I have not recieved the board yet....But I would like to figure this out before it gets here.

So all the updates are complete...Superfast...Way better than the 890 ECS board I had in this...But I have a few questions..
Live update---Is saying I need to update my chipset. So I downloaded the newest chipset...all good...But when I re run Live update it says the same thing...Cpu-z say Chipset RD9x0 southbridge SB910/950 LpCIO F71889A....
Everything is running fine and great---But I also noticed....In CC I see Overdrive for the Card....But I don't see the amd overdrive for the CPU...Kind weird.....I had it on the 980ecs board--But it don't show up here.......I even went to amd site...download the latest driver for the 7870 and the chipset........Just weird Live update is still saying I need to update-The chipset.......
Next question-I decided to use the DDR3 1600 Ram I had with the Cas7......But when I went into Bios....I set the ram to auto-- 1600....I believe I set to link---and than it let me set the timing----But when I put in the timing 7-8-7-24 and left the rest on auto.....It would not post to bios and I had to reset......When I went back....I only set the ram to 1600...and did not change anything else....Booted fine....Ram is Fast....But timing is 9-11-11-29....I will probably leave it alone....If it aint broke don't fix it........But wondering if I did something wrong-Ram is G.skill Ripjaw X." I have decided to save the 4x4 gb 2133 for my next I7 3770k build next week or so"
So far Updates went Great....Did not take to long....Cpu score higher on this board.....I got a 7.7 cpu---7.7 memory--7.9--aero-gaming-Hard drive........On the ecs board I got 7.6--7.6....and 7.9 on the rest..........Temps are awesome with new H80I-----16 and under on idle"we know that bulldozer use Hex decimal below 45c".....and on load around 45c......Thermal paste....I just used Cosair......Cosair link on silent....

Another thing I noticed-or a few things.....The FX 8150 and a few other amd 8 core cpus-When booting, like to pause before getting to the bios screen-Before the little numbers on the btm. Before it get to any parts of the bios before boot. I have built about 10 of these bulldozer beast. Different boards-Brand new Processors-all purchased from the start to now. Every single build-I have had the same issue. 15 to 10 second pause-blank screen, computer on with fans-Than the little numbers-bios screen and windows. Once it gets to the little numbers-it take 15 sec to boot. total boot time-30 seconds....If it would work normal-I would get a 15 second boot....Do you happen to know why?
I also noticed-because now I have one click bios 2 in windows. Temps are way way off. any windows monitor tool is reading in the low teens...But Bios give the right temp. Figured out-You can not use any hardware monitor tool for the cpu temp----of course till it hits 45c or higher....But I did find it on Hardware Monitor-TMPIN----Mine is 0......Not sure what other boards might be....But I was able to compare both and they go up in temp together and the same with down....TMPIN0 is my Bios core temp....Just wish there was a program that could pull the bios temp and put it on desktop-My corsair Link is wrong--But You can watch the Temp of the pump--Hardware monitor-speccy-and core temp when it don't freeze the 8150's..."whole diff. Issues there.".

no they are already in mp3 format I just tried that home sharing today because I couldnt find any other reason why they werent syncing. here is an example of a sync I just tried. I made an mp4 concert into an mp3 it came out perfect on my computer.. then I tried to sync it to my ipad with no luck, other than it going on my computer, it did not show up anywhere on my ipad in any area of the music sections etc playlists, songs, albums etc. Its just not there but remains on my computer. thats why I tried the home share today to see if that would help. Either I am really missing something or there is something wrong with this ipad. If this is regarding your information line that says a stolen iPhone, Apple can do nothing to help you. You must track the iPhone yourself using iCloud and must have turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My Phone before it was stolen. If that was not done, there is no way to track the iPhone.
Report the theft to the police and the cell service provider and ask if they can blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used. Change all passwords associated with acconts on the iPhone.

Stop the Numbers and Letter Lists!

My wife is going crazy - please help me. She has to copy and paste questions into a blank pages doc, answer the questions then submit the completed document. The problem is that Question 1 is numbered as such and when she goes to type the answer, her answer is then number 2. It happens with part a, b , c as well always wanting to continue the list. I thought I read that you simply double return and it stops, but this is not working, nor is turning off "automatically detect lists" in preferences. How do you stop the numbering and lettering lists please?

Thanks Peter - unfortunately that's what I found in the help menu's and it doesn't work. The more I press return the more the list keeps going, c,d,e,f,g etc. I also selected none in the lists menu, but it seemed to have no effect. Is this because the document was pasted from a word to a pages? I wonder.

Thanks. I think I'm going to try and revert my old 3GS to factory settings, put my last back up on it and manually enter all my phone numbers. I'm too worried about messing everything up! I'm typically good with technological issues but my iPhone scares the crap out of me since it is so essential to everything haha

Alright Fico family, i am here for assistance as a first time home buyer. I have been preparing for this day for like 2 years now and i want to make sure i have everything close to ready. In August, i plan on starting the home buying process and i am here to find out if i will qualify or what i need to do to make my chances a lot better than it could be. Below is my portfolio. Downpayment: I have $6000 saved up now and plan on adding to it until i close on the house so it might be more, but right now 6k is on standby for the downpayment on the house Income: $40,371 and i will have been at my job for 2 years in August Credit Score(Not the mortage score but it is Fico): Experian 681 Transunion: 667 Equifax: 688 I plan on pulling the mortgage scores when i am ready to sit down with a lender. Wise or not? I have only one collection on my transunion for $150. I been trying to get it off my name but no luck and i refuse to pay it. Now will this hurt me as far as the mortgage, or i can not worry about it since it is small? Monthly Debt:

1) ...need to think about where you intend to buy ...if in rural area around Atlanta, USDA is much more advantageous than FHA in most cases, check the USDA site for property eligibility map+ ...you might be surprised at what is considered rural2) ...your income is low enough to qualify for most state/county down payment/closing cost assistance programs ...also the USDA Direct program ...don't overlook these programs ...most will provide several k in assistance and most are either grants or forgiven if you live there for long enough3) ...do your homework on the student loan payments ...there are substantial changes on going that may force the lender to use 1 or 2% of your SL total debt as a monthly payment in your dtir calculations whether or not they are deferred or IBR ...the payment your SL lender requires may well not be what your mortgage lender will use depending on the program4) fico appears to weigh cc utilization in tiers ...50/30/10 being widely claimed as breakpoints in the scoring ...thus I would pay down all debts to 50% first, then 30%, then 10%, then zero on all but one cc account ...that will result in the fastest fico 8 score rise ...the problem with that strategy is that the dtir calculations will use every cc with a balance owing at the minimum payment reported ...and that can sink your dtir despite a rising fico score ...you need to figure out which payment strategy serves you best ...in your situation, I'd not worry about cc interest charges right now ...focus on what gets you to a mortgage. 5) the TU debt only matters if it is recent ...fico weighs paid/unpaid the same ...some lender overlays may require you to pay it but most will not6) ...pull your fico mortgage scores now ...its $40 well spent to know where you really stand ...differences of 50 points +/- are all too common depending on whats in your individual file ...no use in waging a battle that you don't need to fight ...as always, ymmv ...hth

Preorders, reservations and walkins, the numbers don't lie. All good!!!!

With all the worry and frustration I've been reading, i started thinking about the numbers behind the preorders and reservation. When you lay out the facts, it really sounds a whole lot better and you should feel comfortable after reading this.
Apple said they sold 600000 preorders, there are say 250 Apple stores worldwide according to the Apple site. Lets say each store was allotted 2500 reserved and 2500 walk ins ( high but just follow the logic), thats 5000 per store x 250 stores = 1250000. Thats a total of 1850000. Now all the reports I've read on the net were saying that apple was producing 3000000 per month. Just say they only were in production for 2 months which is unlikely, thats still 6 million phones available on launch day and we figured we only need 1.85 just to fulfill our preorders, reserved and walk In's.
This is why I feel comfortable knowing I have a phone on the 24th. I reserved mine for pickup @ my local Apple store because I have to work and will not be home to sign. I will try and go before work, but if i can't will be going after.

Depends on the production schedule, but I think they will get new shipments at least weekly if not sooner, so not bad i would say. The problem is the sell out rate. Tell you what i did with the iPad, any big city Apple store I called was sold out, so I looked for the smallest populated area and found one. I drove about 25 extra miles, but it was well worth it.

I purchased Logic Pro 9 from the store, not via CD or DVD. I'm going through the "Exploring Logic Pro 9" document and have come to the chapter that uses "The Numbers Game" project file. I cannot find The Numbers Game project anywhere. The only demo project I can find is the one entitled "Foster The People". Is The Numbers Game project available for download somewhere or are we supposed to use the "Foster the People" project instead?
