Going crazy trying to configure AE...

OK, I have the N-enabler and am trying to add a 5.8 GHZ only AE to my network. Several Issues:
1.) No Radio Option Mentions N , even though I have the N enabler installed and definitely have a new square N router .. Only B, B/G and G ..like it's inherited the dropdown from the old airport utility .
2.) after configuring using an ethernet cable , I cannot change any wireless parameters ( Network Name, Security , Radio ..you name it )
3.) Light shows solid Green , acquired IP address from ISP , works great through wired ethernet cable ( I'm posting this through this path now) .. No wireless with the default apple name shows up via Istumbler , network doesn't show in airport status bar.. Airstatz shows a pretty powerful nameless system with a corrupt SSID .. cannot connect to it .. hmmmmm..
So, does this get repackaged and taken back to the Apple Store tomorrow , or am I missing something ...

Have reset the router to factory several times and reinstalled the new airport utility .. No joy .. I do notice the MAC address is appearing as all '0's , which is very bizarre. I think I have a lemon, so I'll take it back to the Apple Store tomorrow and get a replacement. I am configuring to router as the primary router initially; I'll then manually update to bridge mode then add to my network.

Going crazy trying to connect iPhone to computer/iTunes

I had iTunes installed on my computer, and everything was fine. Didn't have a single problem with it. Then, when I got my new motherboard and processor yesterday, I reinstalled Windows 7, something I do any time I get a new motherboard. So I install iTunes, that goes perfectly fine. Load that up, and plug in my iPhone. First, it pops up with the driver installing for "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver", which goes fine, and uses the usbaapl64.sys driver that the Apple site says it should. Then it tries installing the driver for "MTP USB Device", which fails. And iTunes gives me the error "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)." or "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "Jon's iPhone" becuase an invalid response was received from the device.". Varies from time to time when I plug it in.
I run the iTunes diagnostic for iPhone/iPod Connectivity, and it passes everything except the last one "No iPhone or iPod found." It directs me to this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363) for help, which none of the steps help. I've also done everything on this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495), and no luck. Tried redownloading iTunes and installing about 20 times. Even downloaded older versions of iTunes. Nothing. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers. Nope. ****, I even reinstalled Windows 7 again to make sure nothing was messed up in the installation. No luck.
I've tried Googling the error, and just about anything I can think of, and nothing is helping. If anybody had any ideas, it'd be great.

Yes it is documented through forums well now. You may get 0XE8000065, or error code -6999, or error code -48 or combination.
1. First and best fix is update your BIOS
2. Some people have been able to switch from back USB port to front and it worked.
3. Others bought a PCI USB card and installed it on their computer and then connected iPhone to that.

Going crazy trying to uninstall PC Suite

Please excuse my total lack of technical knowledge however I have an old version of PC Suite 6 installed and I cannot get rid of it. I have recently got a 6120 classic and am trying to install the new version but the old version - which, incidentally, never worked and I never used - will not let me. I get so far in the installation when it stops and tells me there is an error which involves a 2057.mst file - sorry I can't be more specific but I live in Italy and my computer is from when I lived in Spain, so all in Spanish. It is something about 'check that the route for 'transformaciones'(??) is correct'and gives the file address (sorry, backslash will have to be forward slash as I can't locate backslash key. Dur.) C:/programme files/nokia/nokia pc suite 6/2057.mst'. Then it stops! I have tried the 'Uninstall' programme but that just doesn't do anything, as well as the uninstall in Control Panel - I have even tried the highly risky method in the system files suggested by another poster in a thread relating to the same problem but couldn't see any files with Nokia as the author. Help, this is driving me potty and the reason why I gave up the first time in 2006!!!

Slow wifi connection - going crazy trying to figure it out. Sadface.

I read through the forum and tried to find a solution to this problem but everyone seems to be experiencing differences in what is wrong with their problem and I have yet to find a solution to mind.
Problem:
Recently I've noticed my wifi connection has been slow. Slow as in Firefox will sit at "Looking up..." or "Transferring data from..." and just sit there for a few minutes then idle out, stop loading the page or give me an error stating that the server is too busy, or cannot be found. A manual refresh will either restart the process or go immediately to the site. To describe the slowness in another way as if someone is downloading something on the network that causes it to lag. I verified that my computer is not the problem (all downloads offline).
I've made no changes (except for one, stated below) to my network preferences, my router or anything. I haven't recently installed anything on here that would interfere with my network settings either.
Failed solutions:
- Resetting/Restarting my computer, the router and the cable modem.
- Turning Airport on and off, even switching to a different wireless signal in the house (We have DSL and Cable, don't ask) and I get the same results from both connections.
- OpenDNS. It solved one problem temporarily (one server seemed to be offline when in reality it was not, OpenDNS let me go there again but the speed issue remains.)
- Software Update -- Everything is updated.
Also note that my signal strength is full all the time. It will occasionally dip down but that's nothing as the router is in a room beside mine.
My Linksys Wireless G with Speedboost router is secured with WPA and the Mac filtering enabled to only allow this laptop, my iPod Touch and my Nintendo DS access. Could this security be compromised and someone jacking my signal?
I'm at wit's end here. I've usually been able to find my solutions for these problems on a wired Windows computer but this Wifi stuff on my Mac is driving me bonkers. To me everything seems to be green but I know somewhere there is a problem.
If I did miss an important thread, please point me in the direction of it and I'll remove this topic.
Here's hoping this thing will post without timing out.
EDIT Further searching shows me this is a common problem. I guess that's a good thing.

Your Mac stores previous DNS Lookups, Ned's suggestion just empties that cache.
I'm wondering if this could be MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) related (i.e. packet size) some ISP's can be quite picky about this ...

HELP! I'm going crazy trying to organize my music into folders!

I am managing my own music which I need to do.
I've now got thousands of playlists, each usually an album or artist name. For example I've got over 33 Madonna albums. Just my "A's" to get through on the playlist require my thumb to go around the wheel dozens of times.
I need to have folders, I would like to name them "A" and have all my playlists that start with A under them. I'm thinking "M" followed by a subfolder "Madonna" followed by a playlist with a playlist for each Madonna album.
It is not letting me do any of this. I can make a folder but then it won't let me drag it to my ipod. I create a folder and try to drag a playlist into it and it won't let me. I can't deal with this much music anymore. There has to be a way to use folders for this.

It's not difficult to use but if you are used to doing it a differnt way, it may be confusing.
You're gonna have to try to not apply what you used to do.
In iTunes, go to menu Edit - Show browser.
This will show a list of Genres, Artists and Albums.
Click on any of these to view just that info.
Same on the iPod.
Go to Music -> Artists -> Albums
or Music -> Genre -> Artist
or Music Albums
or Music -> Playists.
Yes, you can create folders in iTunes under playlists. This will help keep your playlists a bit organized.
I have two folders, one for my playlists and one for my daughters playlists.
However, these folder do not get transfered over to the iPod. Only the playlists get transfered.
To get Artist>Album>Playlist, on the iPod, use Music -> Artist -> Album and press Play.
In iTunes select the artist and the album and press play.
You don't need a playlist for an artist or album.
To play all songs by an artist (or Genre) , simply select the artist and press Play
iTunes and the iPod are not as friendly for classical music. Many people edit the ID3 tags to exchange the Composer and Artist fields. This way everything from Strauss will be shown under Strauss instead of the 27 different orchestras who recorded Strauss.

Newbie going crazy trying to load photos

Can somebody please help with loading photos onto my new iphone?
On my PC (not Mac), under my picures I have, for example, a folder called family. under there are just photos, no folders. I also have a folder called holidays, and under there are folders for 2008, 2009 etc. How do I load the family stuff into 1 album on the iphone, and only the 2009 holiday pics into another allbum?
If I go for 'selected photos', and select family and holidays, then I get 2 albums, but with all holiday years. I cannot open up the folder tree for holidays. If I load the family folder first, then change 'sync photos from' and select 2009 from holidays, then it does load just 2009, but it deletes family! Also the photos are loaded into an album called 'photo album', not 2009 or holidays. If I uncheck the sync option, and say 'dont delete the photos from iphone', next time I check 'sync' it warns it will delete all photos first when it syncs. Is there a way to do what I want? I dont want all my holiday pics in 1 album as there are 2000+
The phone is great, but itunes is driving me crazy!

Just to expand more and maybe spell it out (not saying the other poster didn't help )
But that iPhone sync options has limits. You can only point it to one folder. And for the most part you really don't want to point it to a place you want to fully keep your photos for good (eg, don't point where you keep all your photos).
Go make a folder someplace, for example:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\My Pictures\iPhonePics
Now in that folder make other folders like:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\My Pictures\iPhonePics\family
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\My Pictures\iPhonePics\kids
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\My Pictures\iPhonePics\2008
etc
Point iTunes to the root folder you made:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\My Pictures\iPhonePics
Now go put copies of pictures you have into the folders you made. I say copies because lets say later you want them off your phone, but you want to keep them on your computer. Well if you have the original where you normally keep photos, then you need only go to this iPhonePics folder, find the photo and delete it, thus on next sync it is gone.
And having this setup when you want another folder or set of pics, you just go to that iPhonePics folder, and put copies of the new pics you want in it.

Going Crazy trying to DB other than my Local DB in OEM

I have a local 10g database and I have installed EM. The tool works fine for that database, but I was not able to connect to another 9i database instance sitting on the Unix Server. Can anyone tell me how I make EM see the remote Database instance and would I login ? Thank !

You have installed 10g Dbconsole, this serves only the 10g database, it belongs to. To manage other local and remote databases on any platform, you have to install and configure 10g Grid Control separately (not included in database software).

Itunes library, im going crazy trying to figure this out...please HELP!!!!!

ok so me and my sister both have ipods and one computer in the house, we listen to very diffrent music, she hates my music i hate hers...so a friend of mine told me that i can make a second library for itunes so that my sister can import her music and download it onto her ipod and i can do it with my music. I just dont want to have music on my ipod that i dont like its really annoying to have to use up that memory with music i dont listen to and having to scroll over all her music so get to mine...is there anyone out there that can help me please...i would really appreciate it if someone out there could give me some kind of solution to this itunes issue...thx!

Yep. So don't use it, use the "piano roll" view - you have a lot more control over the lenghts of your notes and the exact beginning. Enter the notes by holding down the Apple key and clicking and dragging (the onscreen keyboard can only be used in "record" mode). Use the same mode to modify imported midi tracks.
There are no solo strings in GB, but you should have a string ensemble and some basic choir.

First I have noticed the refresh rate of 60Hz and 120Hz on a lot of TV's but I ran across one today that read 600Hz. Is that a misprint or something that is specific to a certain type of TV?
Also, how important is a brand name? Lets say Sanyo, Visio, Samsung, Sharp ect. I have read and heard that Sony and Panasonic are good brands.
Anyway, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I hate spending this much money on something and not know any more about it that I do.

If you saw a LCD with a 600hz refresh rate it was a misprint. Did you see this one LG 55"?Only TV's with a 600hz refresh rates are Plasmas. Common refresh rates for LCD's are 60, 120 and 240. What you get is personal preference but the higher refresh is mostly marketing gimmicks.

Brand names are very important if you want a quality display and one that will last. Your best manufactures for both LCD and Plasmas are Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Sharp. Sony is NOT a good brand. Their quality has seriously went into the toilet in the past several years.
Anyway, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I hate spending this much money on something and not know any more about it that I do.

I have been usings my ipod mini for about 7 months now,an 2 days ago i tried to upload cd's to it.now for some reason it wont connect to my computer.i updated it already too an that didnt work an i also reset it an still nothing.i am going crazy trying to figure this out can someone please help me without having to delete itunes off my computer because then i lose my 800 songs!

And fyi, deleting iTunes from the computer does not cause you to lose the songs. The iTunes music folder remains unaffected.

Why can't I drag and drop (or import in any way) my MPEG-4 or MOV Files? I am going crazy, going on 3 hours now!!!

I have tuns of .mp4 clips, converted them to .mov clips... they successfully play in QuickTime. I cannot get them to go into iMovie. Seriously going crazy trying to make my sons 2 year birthday video. Someone please help me =(

easy way:
• double-click mp4 to open it in QuicktimePlayer.app
(does it play the video?)
• File/Export/choose 720p (if optional, if not 480p)
• import THAT into iMovie using iMovies import routine, proceed …

I don't know what other solutions you've tried but on mine it was like a "Ghost in the Machine" (moving around and clicking on things on its own) and all I did to fix it was to lightly dampen a cotton ball with window cleaner (evaporates) and clean firmly around the inside edge of the pad and to also click it firmly quickly and many times to clean out ANY kind of dust or debris that has fallen into the cracks. worked GREAT for me , so far!!???

I tried dialing in five times with each of the following settings:
Connecting on LTE (with no confirmation boop-boop tone that I'm on the 3G Extender): the telecon login worked five out of five times. This is impractical for me as I have wretched LTE signal where I live and it snaps hard over to 1x signal every 2-5 minutes and drops my call. That's why I got an extender!
Connecting on 3G (after a #48 positive confirmation boop-boop tone that I'm on the 3G Extender): telecon login worked zero out of five times. I had stellar 3G signal, but the 'overdialing' DTMF problem was consistent and I was unable to connect to the telecon service.
