Going nuts with Bridge CS5

Does anyone have Adobe CS5 on a 2010 MacBook Pro 6,2? If so, do you have trouble with fullscreen photo view in Bridge on various RAW photo formats? (NEF, PEF, CR2, etc.)
I've already re-installed 10.6.6 and Adobe because this is the same Mac I dropped a couple weeks ago.
Here's my thread on Adobe forums, I wasn't able to get much headway- http://forums.adobe.com/message/3551309#3551309
Do you have any other thoughts on what is nuking Bridge? I'm calling adobe tomorrow, I just want to have as much troubleshooting information available in case I get the level 1 scriptie.

You say you are publishing two sites. Are you trying to publish both using CNAMEs under the same individual mobile me account. Publishing all sites in an account directly from iWebb will work with the web.me.com host, but a personal domain CNAME redirect after setting up two sites, both setup with CNAME option can cause "syncing" problems--it does not track the last site you republished/updated--mixing them up.
If having multiple personal domains/websites, i.e not in the URL form of web.me.com, are important I would suggest You upgrade to the mobile me family pack at $149 to get the multiple CNAMEs, more storage, and more email options. In my case I created multiple users on my computer each with their own default idisk and mobileme account in sys preferences. Each "user" on my computer represented a specific interest/account paired with its specific iPhoto Library and iTunes list for iWeb support. Works very cleanly if you do iWeb for multiple volunteer organizations. Enable fast user switching in System Preferences>accounts>Login Options to make account switching easy.
See the the notes at the end of this excellent fact sheet to understand the CNAME problem.

  • Trouble with Bridge CS5.1

    I am running the latest version of the Lion (10.7.2).
    After the upgrade of Camera Raw Bridge become unstable and useless for me.
    As soon as I try to click on the menu bar the Bridge freeze and it is not possible to do other than using the forced termination (opt / cmd / esc).
    I have reset the preferences, purge the entire Thummbnail Cache and reset to Standard Workspaces.
    I have taken the previous version from backup and made a restart. But the problem is still there.
    Is there anyone else who has experienced this?
    Will a reinstallation of Bridge solve the problem?
    Kind regards
    Venche Jensen.

    I will try to remove the ARC, and then try to revert to the previous version of ARC.
    I have tried to open a raw file via Photoshop. It wount work. I will giv you a feedback when done.

    Since the menu bar on top hang too, I think it is a combination of problem the upgrade of Mac OS and Bridge + ACR.
    If you have the option to revert to the previous version of ACR (6.4) and check if this sorted things out it might be helpful for all other users. Personal I have not yet upgraded to Lion (I'm on 10.6.8) and have ACR 6.5 installed. It only gives me the problem that I can't choose an other location for the files in Adobe Photo downloader but that's fine, I always have the same folder i sent them to so that is working for me.
    If you have a back up inTime Machine or other Back Up try to find the 6.4 version. Or check the thread about Photodownloader to see how I retrieved it with re install.

  • Downloading with Bridge CS5

    Downloading with Bridge CS5
    When I download from my SD card with Bridge, it only stores 9 images into a folder (date named), so I get several folders created all with just 9 images in them!
    How do I reset this to only have one folder created with ALL images in it?

    Are you by any chance taking exactly just 9 shots per day?   Are folders created by date?
    Exactly what version of CS5 are you running? CS5 12.what?
    What's the exact version of your OS?
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
    If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand, such as your platform (Mac or Win), exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop and of Bridge, machine specs, what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, what error message(s) you receive, if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them, etc., someone may be able to help you.

  • Bug with Bridge CS5 output /web gallery - renames files with ASCII

    has anyone found a fix around this ? It makes my HTML galleries useless since it renames all the original files in ASCII code and there is no work around this.
    I know that this issue has been going on for a while but Adobe hasn't done anything about this yet

    Solved!
    This works for Windows.  I imagine the Mac solution is similar. Props to William Zauscher for helping find an answer.
    I take no responsibliity for any damage caused to your computer, Photoshop or Bridge...
    In Windows, browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CS5 Extensions\Adobe  Output Module\mediagallery\resources\scripts
    In the file named "galleryCreator.jsxinc" replace the lines:
    AOM.AmgGalleryCreator.createUniqueFileName = function(filePath, jpgFile,  createMode)
        var alteredName;
        while (true)
             alteredName = "_";
            for (var i=0; i<10; i++)
                 alteredName += Math.floor(Math.random() * 10);
             alteredName += ".jpg";
            var f = new File(filePath +  alteredName);
            if (!f.exists)
                break;
         return alteredName;
    ...with the following:
    AOM.AmgGalleryCreator.createUniqueFileName = function(filePath, jpgFile, createMode)
                    var alteredName;
                    while (true)
                                    alteredName = "_";
                                    alteredName += jpgFile += ".jpg";
                                    var f = new File(filePath + alteredName);
                                    if (!f.exists)
                                                    break;
                    return alteredName;
    You can cut and paste the above.  Just save a version of the original file somewhere in case of screwups...
    Cheers!

  • Having trouble with Bridge CS5.1 building previews

    I'm using Adobe Bridge CS5.1 and it has stopped building previews that are correct, if I open the image in Camera Raw it looks accurate but the preview in Bridge is not even close?

    Purge the cache.

  • Problem with Bridge CS5 and Tools Photoshop Batch

    When I select several images in Bridge CS5 and go to Tool>Photoshop>Batch and try an run an Action, I receive an error message asking for the Install disk. Bridge at that point freezes until I put in the install disk and then it runs the batch action fine.
    This is very annoying as I always have to have the disk in my DVD Drive.
    Any points would be welcomed.
    Thanks,

    Go to preferences/startup scripts and make sure there is a check mark for Bridge and Photoshop scripts.

  • I can't associate a jpeg or tif with Bridge CS5

    I want to be able to open/view jpeg and other files in Bridge CS5 by using the right click,open command.  In Windows 7 I am trying to associate these files:   I highlight the jpeg or tif, right click, open as, browse.  I find BridgeCS5.exe, open,but Bridge CS5 is not added as an option.  I can do the same process and select PS CS5.exe , and the association works fine.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Rather than right click on the file, right click on the Folder and select "Browse in Adobe Bridge CS5"
    If that option is not there have a look at :-

  • Help with Bridge CS5 reading RAWs from a  Nikon d7100

    So just bought a Nikon D7100, and not Bridge and PS CS5 cannot open my RAW photos. Is there something else I can do, besides upgrading to cs6??
    My current version of bridge is 4.1.0.54 and photoshop 12.1

    Is there something else I can do, besides upgrading to cs6??
    You can either upgrade to at least CS6 because you need at least ACR 7.4 to support your new Camera NEF format and PSCS6 (currently at ACR 8.3 but started with ACR 7) can give you the correct thumbs and previews form NEF or you can use the Free Adobe DNG Converter and first convert the NEF to Adobes DNG and then work on these files in CS5.
    Try these links (or do a search on Adobe Downloads if they don's work, many are country specific:

  • How to Replace All the Bridge CS6 Stock Keywords With Bridge CS5 Keywords

    I have CS6 working in a different computer than the one that houses CS5. Bridge CS6 can read CS5 keywords when it opens an "old" photo but it has none of its own (besides the stock ones that came with the program). How can I replace all the stock CS6 keywords with the keywords from CS5?

    Have you tried the Import/Export options from the tiny menu at the top-right of the Keywords panel?

  • I'm going nuts with display driver problems!!!!

    Hi everyone,
    I joined the forum some time ago but I can't get back in so I logged in with a new ID.(Pain)
    I have a problem that I hope someone can help with When I place any of my work or a photo into CS5-Ext. I can't do any work on it? No matter what tool other than the paint brush I use, as soon as I click on the picture / work it disappears and will only re-appear if I click on it again. I've tried all sorts and it's driving me nuts, Can anyone help?---PLEASE---
    Thanks.

    That sounds like a display driver problem.
    What OS are you running?
    If Windows, you can often visit the web site of the maker of your video card and download/install an updated driver.
    If OSX, you need to look to Apple and their OS updates to get updated display drivers.

    I am seeing the same problem. I see slowdowns and beachballs in Safari very frequently, coincident with a long run of these memorystatus_thread messages. I also see huge amounts of swap/virtual memory being used, up to 19Gb (I have 4Gb of RAM). All the memorystatus_thread messages are associated with Apple processes, no other apps, and it all clears up if I use Chrome instead of Safari. It sounds very much like Safari has a memory leak associated with all it's interprocess communications with other apps.
    I tried reinstalling Yosemite and that didn't solve it. There seems to be no way to roll back to an earlier release of Safari or install it separately (didn't MSFT get into a lot of trouble when it tied the browser to the OS, both for itself and its customers? Do we need to relearn that lesson?).
    Here's a list of processes that appear with memorystatus_thread messages.

  • "Open with" in Windows does not work for Bridge CS5

    When I right click on a picture to open it with Bridge CS5 nothing happens. Does anybody know how to fix this?
    It worked with older version of Bridge and it stopped once I installed the CS5.
    I have Windows Vista.

    I found out that you can "Browse with Adobe Bridge CS5" when you right click on a folder. However this option is not available for single files. So problem is kind of solved. But if anyone knows how to open single file in Bridge please let me know.
    So have you opened the fly out menu that lists the open wiht programs?  It has a option down on the bottom to set other "open with" options such as open with Bridge.  Does this not work?
    It works one single files on my machine.

  • Replace Bridge CS5 with Bridge CS6?

    Hi All (my first post, whoop!),
    Having been using Photoshop CS5 with Bridge CS5 happily for sometime, we've now purchased InDesign CS6 which has installed Bridge CS6.
    Can I uninstall the now redundant Bridge CS5  without upsetting Photoshop?
    I have searched this forum but couldn't find an answer (maybe I missed a thread somewhere).
    Thanks for your help,
    Matt
    p.s. We use Macs.

    No, you cannot uninstall Bridge separately. It's simply not possible for technical reasons. Bridge CS6 can use PS CS5, though, and conversely, PS will happily use a newer version of Bridge without much ado, give or take a few specific cases. Check the file associations in Bridge and your system in general.

  • Bridge CS5.1 not recognizing RAW from Canon 5DM3...

    Hello All,
    I'm having difficulty with Bridge CS5.1 recognizing RAW files from a recently aquired Canon 5DM3.
    I've downloaded the 6.7 patch and ran the adobe installer (which gave no error), rebooited the Mac, ran subsequently "purge cache" under "tools", and still no avail.    The blank icon persist, "Camera Raw Options" continues to be unavailable, and cant find where the RAW data files are/were (compounding this problem is that macs and adobe are new to me).
    I realize that this issue has been previously addressed, but following some of these suggestions, I still can't get the patch to work. Any suggestions and comments will be most appreciated.

    Like Curt stated, in PS go to menu Photoshop / About Plug ins / Camera raw. This brings a window showing the correct version number of Adobe Camera Raw (it should state 6.7 and only one version visible.
    On you system it should be in this location:
    In Finder use column mode and click on your disk with the system on it (normally it shows 4 folders: Library , Users , Applications and System) Click on Library and follow this path / Application Support / Adobe / Plug-Ins / CS5.1 / File Formats. Inhere should be only one file called "Camera Raw.plugin"
    If you click on this file the info next to it should show the version number, in your case 6.7
