Going on two  months...

Its been two months now that iweb has been refusing to update my site. I havent been doing anything different. i even tried taking some of my media off the page. But its still refusing to do anything, i can get blog entries up... but my pictues, home movies, and any sort of image on the page doesnt show up.
This is a great application but its starting to annoy me.
any ideas?

Are you able to publish to a Folder, instead of .Mac??
I had trouble with my iWeb updating to my local iDisk.
My site was visible on the web, but none of the folders were available in my local disk.
You may be having a problem with your iDisk Syncing.
This is what they told me from .Mac:
There are several things that could prevent the local copy of the iDisk from synchronizing properly. When troubleshooting a local copy of the iDisk, one of the first things to do is to disable the local copy of the iDisk and actually interact directly with your remote iDisk. We believe that disabling the local copy of the iDisk would be the best course of action in this case.
To turn off local iDisk:
1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
2. From the View menu, choose .Mac.
3. Click iDisk.
4. Deselect the "Create a local copy of your iDisk“ option.
5. Close the System Preferences window.
6. Click Turn off local iDisk.
After disabling local iDisk, a disk image will appear on your Desktop titled "Previous local iDisk for username.dmg". This disk image will contain the entire contents on your previously enabled local iDisk. You may use it to verify what items have actually been uploaded to your remote iDisk if you wish. It also serves as an automatic backup. You may delete or keep the file. It will not affect your remote iDisk or the files stored on it.
Mount your iDisk from the Finder's Go menu. If it appears as it should, you can enable local iDisk.
To turn local iDisk on:
1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
2. From the View menu, choose .Mac.
3. Click iDisk.
4. Select the "Create a local copy of your iDisk“ option.
5. Close the System Preferences window.
6. Wait for local iDisk sync to complete, then click OK.
After completing these steps, local iDisk will be re-enabled, and you should experience no further issues.
Sincerely,
Kevin

  • Password continually needs to be reset, going on two months, this is why I don't shop here anymore.

My login password has been stuck in some reset loop since mid June and it's gotten to the point where I only shop here if I have to.
Let's dispense with the "shopping at bestbuy.com should be a fantastic experience" pleasantries and get down to a solution, please. I've tried all posted solutions and nothing works. Please just send me a password reset link, since those originating from bb.com CSRs seem to be the only ones that work.

    Hi 1283ar.
Unfortunately, iOS 7 is too hard to push for the iPhone 4 and therefore has a lot of effects turned off to try to get it to run as smoothly as possible.
However, it becomes better and better with each update coming but it's hard to do anything about the hardware on an already released phones.
If you still have trouble or think they are too hard. My tip is, if so, to restore your iPhone 4 and make a clean setup with no iCloud backup. But all your photos in a photostream so you can access it later.

  • My unibody macbook (latest 2010 model) wont connect to my home wifi. When it does which is rare, it is very slow. I have tried everything from renewing DCHP lease and such. This has been going on for two months.

It will not connect but my other apple devices can connect and the wifi works very well. I have moved houses to my house wifi isnt the same as the old one. Also, i have to type in the password every time even if i click autosave. Sometimes it also says invalid password or connection timeout. This has been going on for two months and is getting really annoying. I've tried most of the solutions listed on other discussions, none of them work. Any other tips? Thank you. Ps i've had this macbook for 3+ years

    Two questions:
    1. Your profile says OS 9.2.x. Is that correct?
    2. Impossible to provide "other" tips without knowing what you have aleady tried. What have you tried?

Hate to say it but if the light doesn't even come on - sure sounds like a hardware issue (assuming you've got it plugged in: not meant to be insulting, just been there done that)
The good news: believe your still in warranty. Report the problem directly to Apple.

  • For two months, Telstra have failed to help me. What should I do?

Hello everyone. I feel as though I need to inform people about this and get some advice on what to do. I've been trying to resolve it with Telstra for months but they really aren't interested. Here's what's happened: Our household wants to upgrade from our ADSL2+ to Cable internet. The NBN is not yet available in our area, so Cable was the next step. Currently, Telstra is the only ISP that is able to service my address with Cable internet (Optus, for example, cannot). So, I called Telstra at the beginning of May, and we set to order the 500GB cable internet month to month plan with the Super speed boost. And, after preparing it, they said the next Monday (it was Saturday) they would send someone out to connect it. So, the serviceman arrives at my household, and there is a problem: The Cable is on the other side of the street, and as a result, he would need 14 days to work out what needs to be done. Of course, I would assume my household is not the only house in Australia where the cable is on the other side of the street (not a main road, no road markings), so after 14 days had past and there was no contact with us, we wondered what the problem was. We called Telstra, and after waiting 20 minutes to be connected to their technical team, we were finally informed that the process had started that would require a team to come to our street and install the Cable correctly so that it could connect to our house. At this point, we were happy, as at least we felt there was progress. I mean, they could have called us to let us know, but it didn't matter at this stage. Anyway, they couldn't give a date, so they said to wait another 14 days, and 'within' that 14 days, the order should have completed. Well, 3 weeks passed, and nothing, once again, had happened. No contact, no calls, nothing. And, to top it off, none of the Telstra inquiry links that were sent to me, where I could "Call back" the person I had spoken to, ever worked. It would always say "this feature is unavailable". We called back again, and this time, they extended the waiting time that we had been told from 14 days to 25 days. That way, of course, they were still within the time frame. Ok, whatever, that was fine.... So, we called again when that time had finished. It had been, like, a month since we placed out order by this time. This time, the person I spoke to was like "Oh, yeah, it is outside the time now, taking into account the weekends and public holidays, your order should have finished 2 days ago at the max". So, they did something which was meant to alert their team that nothing had happened. Of course, I politely explained to them that this was disappointing, but there was nothing they could offer me. The lady simply informed me, after speaking with their team, that they had to wait for the 3rd party workmen to complete their service and connect the Cable to the household, and that the order would not complete until then. Of course I asked if they could give a date, but they could not. So I waited a couple of weeks once again, in fact, I actually travelled overseas for a week in that time... I had been waiting each day, hoping that I would see a Telstra Van or something start some work in our Street. But nothing... nothing as always.... At this stage, we were very annoyed. I called Telstra once again, and had to wait for 45 minutes just to connect to someone. Now, the person I spoke to this time was as helpful as he was doing what he could and asking the questions I wanted to ask. For 30 mins, he was trying to connect to another Telstra team, but he kept coming back to me saying "I'm so sorry, I'm still on hold, really really sorry" but that was fine. At least he was going to the effort to keep me informed. Anyway, I was so upset. I told him my story, how we had never gotten an answer, the only answer we got was "We're not sure when" and that we never got called back. According to him, he pushed for a better answer from the other Telstra team, butt hey wouldn't give him one. They kept telling him "It will be done once the 3rd party do their bit". Now, if Telstra are getting 3rd parties to do work for them, and those 3rd parties are not doing the work, I would have expected at the VERY LEAST, that Telstra would contact that third party and ask when it would be done, but they keep refusing to do it. In this same call, the helpful man told me he did anything and everything he could, and so, thanking him, I asked if I could speak to a manager. He escallated the problem, which apparrently placed a specific manager in charge of the problem, and I then spoke to that Manager. She gave me the same info, they could not give me an answer. However, he forwarded the problem to the complaints area, and told me I would be contacted within 24-48 hours... AND AFTER 2 WEEKS OF NO CONTACT FROM TELSTRA....... two weeks, AGAIN, they failed to call me back, and each time I double checked to make sure they had the right number, which they did - I rang again, and asked immediately to speak to a manager. Sigh... so, we waited in total for another 40 mins while this different manager called and talked, and... for nothing. She told me the same thing everyone else did: "We have no idea when it will be done. sorry." - she then, once again, 'forwarded' my complaint, and told me I would be contacted again within 24-48 hours. So, here I am. 2 months after placing an order, COMPLETELY in the dark. I have no idea if they will call me back, no idea what the hell is going to happen. How can Telstra think that this is an acceptable answer? "We cannot service till the 3rd party completes the work, sorry" And the sad thing is, no one else offers Cable at our address, The first thing I would have done is obviously go with someone else, but we cannot. To think, that Telstra cannot even contact the people that they, themselves, are contracting to do work for them, to get a lousy time frame. Do they care so little about us that they literally do not care to do anything? I cannot believe that over the past two months, the way we have been treated is not a 'one off', but a pattern of pathetic and disgusting care for existing consimers by Telstra (Yes, we already have multiple services with them). I am so worn out... I don't know what to do...

It seems they actually called me back today, and this time when a complaint was lodged, they actually got back to me!. The complaint reference was: SR 1-513261789108 (Should that not work, my last INT reference emailed to me is as follows: INT 1-502560651827 [25 June] ) The issue is this, according to them: The 3rd party claims to have started work. There is 'no way' they can ascertain when the work will be finished. So in essence, no answer. No idea. No way of knowing. If I were to obtain the number or contact of the 3rd party, it would be great, as I would be able to contact them myself, and forward a complain to the ombudsman for their failure to communicate. Let's not forget here that a date was set, in which the order should have been completed, and according to the lady I spoke with today in the complaints section, it should have been finished in May... There's literally nothing else, according to them, they can do. Seems Telstra cannot control the 3rd parties that they, themselves contract, to do their work. I see how it is, Telstra itself is technically not to blame, as it is the 3rd party that must finish the work, however, Telstra needs to accept:1. The work not being finished remotely on time is NOT acceptable2. That the 3rd party refuse to give a date, which is NOT acceptable; and3. That Telstra's failure to get information from people they contact is NOT acceptable. I said to the lady today: "It could take months, couldn't it?" And she said "Well sir, I cannot give you a date". How sad... How very Sad. I am grateful to the moderator who answered this thread, and I really do hope you take a look at the complaint reference. The lady explained to me they cannot be kept open, so she said she was going to mark it as resolved. I mean, it isn't of course, but whatever. At least if you get access to the reference, you will see the pain, and absolute waste of time I have gone through over the past few months with Telstra. You won't be able to help, as even managers and escallations have lead to nothing, which is really sad; it is upsetting that the higher ups cannot provide you with the necessary tools you need to help the community effectively in situations like this. So, thank you for your genuine help and concern, even if, unfortunately, it won't be able to help me

  • Without a receipt, but with a bank statement, will I be able to get a free replacement on my broken iPod headphones, bought only two months ago?

    Hi,
I bought a new pair of iPod headphones just over two months ago from an HMV store, and in the last few days, one of the headphones has stopped working altogether. Unfortunately, I no longer have the receipt for the headphones, but I do have the information booklet, the one year warranty statement and a bank statement showing the transaction of when I purchased the headphones. Am I still able to get a refund or replacement for my headphones, as the damage was not my fault, just a technical fault?
    Thanking you in advance,
    Natasha

Am I still able to get a refund or replacement for my headphones, as the damage was not my fault, just a technical fault?
Yes. Make a trip to your local Apple Store and show them what is going on. Since the headset is still under a year old, they should swap it out for you at no cost. Unless for some reason they deem the issue the result of misuse or abuse, but that doesn't sound like the case here.

  • BT Infinity fault is THIRD problem in two months o...

I am writing this post because I am so disappointed, upset and frustrated with BT. I have had three different, separate problems I have had with my service in the two months that I have been with them.
The service that I was sold - BT Phone and BT Infinity - seemed like such a great deal that I chose to switch from my long-term, very reliable contract with Virgin Media. However, the problems started before I even switched over.
Problem 1: equipment delivery - when my home hub was supposed to be delivered, I received an email telling me that I could track my delivery, but I saw that delivery failed because of a problem with the courier. I called BT (from abroad, as I was out of the country for work) and they told me they would arrange another delivery the next day. I then had the same problem with another courier (they didn't even try to deliver it), and again I had to call BT from abroad (costing several pounds for the call each time). After the second failure to deliver the equipment (both times, the courier didn't even attempt to deliver), BT finally told me that the engineer could bring it on the day. If that's the case, why did the website tell me I had to call if equipment didn't arrive, meaning I spent more than £10 on international calls to try to make sure it was delivered?
Problem 2: number porting from my old service - before I EVEN switched to BT, Virgin Media informed me that BT hadn't requested the number to be ported from them. I rang BT more than a week before the installation date, and they told me that Virgin were wrong and they had requested the number. Then, when the equipment was installed, the BT engineer said that the number hadn't been ported (meaning we couldn't get incoming calls), and that we'd have to call BT to get it resolved by the number porting team. It took at least three calls and over 10 days to get BT to this fixed - whenever I called, the 1st Line Support kept saying I'd need an engineer, and that the number had definitely been ported. Finally, after 10 days, they admitted it hadn't been done and sorted it out... But it took
multiple calls from me, and being told that I'd need an engineer that could cost me £99 even though the original engineer correctly diagnosed the problem.
Problem 3: broadband service down - After a little under two months, the BT Infinity Broadband stopped working at around midnight one night. After a call to BT at 8am on Monday 9 September to try to resolve, it turned out the the black box of the BT Hub wouldn't switch from green light to orange then blue, and when the reset button was pressed and held for 30 seconds, nothing happened. It seemed like a problem with equipment under warranty, but I was told that it would take a day for the networks team to assess, and they would call back between 6pm and 8pm the next day (Tuesday 10 September). I missed the call because I was on a bus getting home and lost signal for 3 minutes only. I then had a text saying I could call back up to 9pm. I called back as soon as I got home from
work (at 8pm), but was told I couldn't speak to the 2nd Line Support as they stopped taking calls at 8pm (despite the text message saying I could call up to 9pm). I spent nearly an hour on the phone trying to get put through by 1st Line Support, but all they could do after all that time was say that the 2nd Line Support Team couldn't speak to me at 8pm - the earliest I can get home from work - until Thursday 12 September. Additionally, it would likely need an engineer to come out - but only on a weekday, between 8am and 6pm, meaning I would need to take another day off work - to fix the problem.
I am so, so, SO disappointed by the service BT have provided to me in the scant two months that I have been with them. There have been delivery issues, there have been technical mistakes by BT (number porting) that they refused to even believe where their fault for a week, then when the Internet stopped working they can't call me at a time I can be home, and they will require me to stay home for a day so that I can have broken equipment under warranty replaced (because they won't send an engineer on evenings or weekends).
I wish I had never moved to BT. Their service just doesn't seem to care about the customer, and it's set up so that if something goes wrong it's almost impossible to get help if you work full-time. I am so disappointed, I would not recommend BT to ANYONE, and I wish I had never moved to the service.
I really hope that by writing this, BT will see the sheer number of problems I have had, and maybe revise their policy of when they will help people to include evenings and weekends, and try to spend more time supporting their customers rather than just recruiting new ones. So disappointed.

Dear baconnugget - good idea, but unfortunately I was travelling for work with only a work laptop, on which I couldn't install Skype, and my mobile, which would have charged more for internet access than calls.
Overall, I'm just really disappointed with the poor customer service from BT, and the fact that they will only help customer between 8am and 8pm on weekdays (I know they say 9pm but I couldn't speak to 2nd Line Support after 8pm), which is when I am at work / travelling to or from work. It's just such a shame that they don't care about supporting customers with evenings or weekends more.

  • My two months old IPhone5(AT n T) not receiving calls (quite a few times) even though signals are good,Because sometimes people are calling my landline and asking Is your phone switched off ? In fact network also good at that time.Any fix ?

My two months old IPhone5(AT n T) not receiving calls ( quite a few times - Till now it happened around 15-16 times) even though signals are good,Because sometimes people are calling my landline and asking me that  Is your phone switched off ? Infact network also good at that time. Not sure about the problem.
I contacted AT n T also and explained about the problem, They suggested to monitor few more days...whether it is real network issue or not. But I am very sure it is NOT network issue because one day I was waiting for my brother at my office open parking space, And i called my brother whether he is ready at his place so that i can go and pick him, but he told it takes sometime...and he told, he will call in 15 mins, So i was at the same location (NOT even moved 1 inch also ), just sitting and listening music and after 30 mins, I called him back and asked Still not ready, then he replied he was trying me from last 15 mins and it is going to voice mail , I got similar complaint from others as well. Today also my cousin called my landline and asked Is your phone switched off ? because i was trying to reach you but it is going to voice message, I saw the signals at that time, Signal strength is very good. I think there is some problem in Iphone5 may be LTE or something.
Taking phone to next levels is good, But it should NOT hamper it's basic phone functionality ( Make calls, receiving calls, Voice mail etc ). Please let me know if any fix for this.

You say it started on yours after upgrading to iOS 8.  I've been on iOS 8.0 for quite some time and only recently did this issue spring up.
The one thing I haven't tried is downgrading it back to iOS 7 (which would be a shame, but if it's the only answer...)
I'll get back to you once I've tried that.

  • My podcast has not updated in over two months. Ive tried everything to get it working. Please Help

My feed has not updated in the store for over two months. I now have three new episodes in there which are not showing up.
Everything works fine through itunes, i can see all episodes and my feed validates with the feed validator.
About 2 months ago my artwork dissappeared from the feed and since then it has never updated again.
    Hope someone can help.
    Store Address: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/beyond-silence/id513494851
    Feed Address: http://www.hiddenagenda.dj/podcast/BeyondSilenceRSS.xml

Hi Roger, just to update you on the situation.
I did some more digging into the problem im having and it was suggested that i tried re-submitting the feed to the store.
On doing so i got the error message that my hosting does not have byte-range support which it seems a lot of people are having problems with. Having read further it seems apple introduced these changes around the time my podcast stopped updating which seems to tie into how the issue started.
So i created a test feed with one episode and a link to a media file from a working podcast and still it would not submit, i was getting the 'We have difficulty reading this feed. Connection Reset error'
Luckily i have another hosting provider so i uploaded the exact same test feed and the feed got accepted.
So i have come to the conclusion that my host does not have byte-range support but also it seems this is stopping it reading the actual .xml file as well as the .mp3 content which from reading other posts should not happen.
So im in the process of uploading the latest episode to my host that has byte-range support enabled and im going to update my current feed with one episode and a link to the .mp3 file on the server with byte-range support enabled and im hoping fingers crossed the feed updates.
Obviously i can set up a new feed on the server with byte-range support enabled but if my current feed fails to update at all im concerned i will never be able to update the feed again and therefore never be able to add the feed URL redirect code in order to keep my subscribers.
Thought id share this with you as it may help you in helping others having similar problems.

  • Slow Speeds, no phone for two months, extortionate...

Last summer, in preparation for Infinity (or so we were told), work was carried out at our local cabinet.  Most houses in the street lost their phone for days, weeks or even months.
Thankfully we have a second line in the house dating back to dial up days and the broadband is on that line so broadband was unaffected.
Our phone was dead for two months. I phoned BT several times a week during the outage and was told each time that they couldn't help me but promised someone would ring back. We made probably ten to twenty phone calls, and never received even one call back. Before you think that they couldn’t return the call because the line was dead, of course they had another number where they could reach us!
After a couple of months the phone just started working again. Unsurprisingly we were not informed that it had been fixed, or why it was out for so long or anything like that. Never heard anything from any customer service representative, never received any compensation or an apology.
A week ago our phone went dead again. Phoned up and since this time there was a question that it might be an internal fault, BT were suddenly extremely interested in fixing it. BT engineer visited, replaced a meter of internal wiring that had become damaged and was gone in under thirty minutes – price £380! Yes THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY POUNDS. Some of us have to work months to save that much. Obviously BT are very willing to fix things when there’s money to be made and you can (in theory) get someone else to fix it. When it’s a fault in their street cabinets that only they can fix they don’t seem quite so keen on fixing the problem, no wonder!
If the man had arrived in a plain white van instead of one with BT printed on the side you would almost expect to see him on an episode of BBC "Rogue Traders".
A year on and Infinity is still not available to us, although people only a few doors down the street can get it. Every time we’ve enquired we’ve been told it will become available to us within the next month or two, but that’s been going on for a couple of years now, they just keep pushing back the date. I don’t anticipate it anytime soon, so in the meanwhile will fall back on the regular BT ADSL line, which in the last couple of weeks has halved in speed. Unrelated to the fault on the first line, remember, because it’s a different line.
Of course I don’t live in the middle of nowhere. There’s been broadband here for twelve years. Twenty-five minutes on the train from central London and even the (ex) council houses here have Porsches parked in front. This is a wealthy area, which doesn’t really benefit the poor locals like me, but you would think we would get Infinity at some point.
No phone for two months, never being called back, charged £380 for a meter of cable and now getting half the broadband speed I was two or three years ago.
    BT probably call this progress.

  • S0A00 on TCMHD 701 for TWO MONTHS!

I'm at my wit's end with this. For more than two months this channel, which is the ONLY reason I have Digital Preferred package, has been unavailable with the S0a00 ref code. Every time I call or chat I get a different answer, which always comes to nothing. The agent, who barely speaks English, says "we will send an agent out to your house Thursday from 3-5." But of course they don't, nor do I get a phone call. The next time I call, the agent says "oh, that's not correct, we will never send a tech out on a single channel problem, let me have someone call you". But of course no one ever calls. Today I tried the online chat. Same thing: the agent lied his pants off. He said "that channel is not available in your area". That's RIDICULOUS: the channel has always been in my lineup, and I still get the program info, what's playing, schedule, etc. Just no picture or sound. The agent then said "try this number" and gave me a number that just goes to the regular phone intake that I've called a half-dozen times in the past week.  The first time I agreed to do the survey the call came AFTER MIDNIGHT and woke me up. No one ever calls back. No one ever has even a glimmer of a suggestion as to how to solve the problem. No one at Comcast cares AT ALL.

Apologies for the issue and the experience that you described above. This condition can and should be corrected. The link below provides some general information on this condition:
    http://forums.comcast.com/t5/XfinityTV-and-Equipment/Pixelation-video-and-audio-dropouts-One-Moment-Please-S0a00/td-p/2361331
To be clear, for video issues with the TV signal like what you described above, it is almost always a local signal issue, bad cable, amplifier, splitter or outside the home issue.
In reviewing your account, I do see a scheduled technician visit for Thursday afternoon so that we can get this issue identified and resolved. Please let us know how that tech visit goes.
    Thanks for your patience.

  • I am using the big date calendar template and when I submit it to apple for printing I lose the name of two months. These names are not text boxes. I see the names when I send it in but something happens during the transmission to apple. It was suggested

I am using the big date calendar template in iPhoto. I am on Lion 10.7.2, macbook air. The names of the months are on each calendar page but something happens when I send the data to Apple. The names are part of the template. They are not text boxes. I lose two names on the calendar after it is sent to Apple. Apple suggested I make a pdf file of my calendar before sending it in and check to make sure every name shows. I did this with a calendar I just sent in. The calendar was correct. All names of the months were showing. After sending the data two month names disappeard because when it arrived by mail, it was incorrect. Apple looked at my calendar via a pdf file and it was incorrect.  This is second time this has happened. I called Apple and they had me delete several folders in the Library folder, some preferences and do a complete reinstall of iPhoto.  I have not yet remade the defective calendar. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Control-click on the background of the view all pages window and select "Preview Calendar" from the contextual menu.
You can also save the pdf as a file to compare to the printed calendar.  If the two names are visible in the pdf file then the printed copy should show them.  Contact Apple for a refund.  Apple Print Products - Apple Store (U.S.)
