Going to an apple store and asking for a replacement
Hi
Is it possible for me to go into my local apple store and ask for my iPod Touch 2nd Generation to be fixed?
It has lasted me a good amount of years and it has finally started to die, I was wondering if I could go into the store and ask for a replacement for a knocked off fee. I've been told by a few people that the above method can be done in a store, I was checking if I could get online clarification if this was true.
Also could it have the option to be replaced with a later generation for a slighty raised fee?
Thanks
All help appreciated.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Likely not worth it for a 2G iPod

Stop making illogical statements and posting multiple times.
READ the article from which this silly statement was posted and follow the detailed (and explicit) instructions. -
On my new iPhone, at the Apps store, I tried to make a purchase, the popup screen shows my Apple ID and asks for my password, but no keyboard appears so that I can enter the password. How do I get the keyboard to appear??
On your iPad, delete the existing account then sign back in with the new ID and password.

I was trying to buy an app from the apple store, it asked for confirmation , when I re-entered my credit card details, got the message that your payment method is not valid!!!! How can I fix this problem?
Is this a pre-paid card thing? Or different billing address than your iTS account?

I bought my mac book pro from an owner selling. I created my apple ID but whenever I try to download updates it brings up previous owner's apple ID and asks for password. How do I delete or by-pass existing apple ID and use my created apple ID and password to enable updates for my Mac?
Yes, he purchased Mountain Lion on his Apple ID. It is licensed to him. What he should have done was erase the HDD and install the system that the Mac shipped with. Erase and re-install either from Recovery Partition or the disks the Mac originally shipped with. Then, purchase ML with your own Apple ID and install.

I am going to an apple store and...
me and my family are going on a vacation soon and the place we are staying is close to an apple store (the one in the oxmoor center in Kentucky.) i was wondering if you have to schedule an appointment for a genius, and
can i ask them anything?
can they show you how to do stuff?
do you have a time limit?
thanx guys and you can include any other info you want about visiting an apple store or the genius bar. also if any1 has been to this particular apple store, tell me about itI have never been to that Apple store, but I think the procedure is the same at all the stores.
You make an appointment to meet a genius, turn up a few minutes before the assigned time, then hang around until your name is called. But you must make an appointment.
Here's the link. Browse the options on the right of the page, and sign up when you find the correct form.

Is it policy for Apple Store to ask for user password to repair iMac?
My father just took his iMac G5 into the Apple Store to get repaired. It seemingly is having a power supply issue (http://www.apple.com/support/imac/powersupply/repairextension/).
They said they needed his password. This sounded absurd to me. Is this common practice?
thanks,
Clint..."and implied that if he didn't give it to them, that it wasn't their fault if the computer wasn't fixed."...
I find that appalling. Realistically, I doubt that Apple Stores are setting out to steal their customer's personal information, but there is no question from your account that that is the risk that people are being coerced to expose themselves to. Every organization will have its, ahem, bad apples, and it isn't unheard of for repair techs to go snooping in people's hard drives, eg.
http://consumerist.com/consumer/investigations/video-consumerist-catches-geek-sq uad-stealing-****-from-customers-computer-271963.php
Given this reality, there really should be a policy against asking for a user password which grants access beyond what can be read straight off of the hard drive. But three separate people have posted about being asked for their account passwords for a repair that should not require it. The specific stores haven't been mentioned, but I find it unlikely that all three of you are posting about the same store so it would seem the practice unfortunately seems to be common.
I don't know about the specifics, or merits of the case (IANAL), but a class action lawsuit has been launched against Apple for following unsafe practices with respect to the inclusion of too much personal information on receipts they issue for online purchases.

The picture I'm getting that somewhere in the chain of command, someone at Apple the corporation doesn't "get" the importance of protecting customers' personal information to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
Sorry, I don't know what to suggest about who to report this to, or what steps to take to ensure that any personal information that could potentially have been accessed is not misused. -
I have purchased a new iPad. I am trying to sync my music and apps. I also updated my Apple ID and password. So when I go to sync my old Apple ID pops up asking for a password but I have already changed the info. So the new password does not work. How do I get the new iPad to recognize the the updated info so I can sign in to my iCloud account?
On your iPad, delete the existing account then sign back in with the new ID and password.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Bought Aperture through Apps Store and asking for a serial number
Hi all,
I bought Aperture through the apps store and it has been updated to the latest version and has lost the serial number. Now when I start Aperture, it's asking for first name, last name and serial number from the back of the box. I don't have a box to get the serial number from as it was downloaded from the apps store. When I go to the apps store, I can see in my purchased list and I have the option to install, which doesnt work as it's already installed.
Help! How do I get my serial number from the version bought from the apps store?
Thanks...DavidDavid, deinstall Aperture - move it from the Applications Folder to the Trash (but don't empty the Trash).
Then open the AppStore "Purchased" tab again and reload it (Press ⌘R).
Now you should be able to reinstall from the AppStore. Does it work?

Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to connect an iPad 3 to an epson sx 445? I can't find a solution anywhere. I've tried getting help on the Internet, going to numerous apple agent shops and asking people but no one seems to have an answer. Please help!!!!!
The AirPrint compatible list shows:
EPSON Stylus SX445W
Is this your printer? If so, you should be able to connect it to your wireless network and use the AirPrint function to print.

is there any cheap way to fix a burnt wifi chip on iphone 4s ios 7.1?
No. How do you know the wifi chip is burned? If you or someone other than
Apple opened the iPhone to inspect the chips, the warranty was voided. Be
glad Apple is offering you a chance at an Out of Warranty replacement as
that was lost when the iPhone was opened.
Apple does not repair iPhones, but replaces them with another unit. -

Even when I'm not connected to the internet it pops up with an error that its trying to connect to the store. Its very annoying. I have disabled the store in preferences> parental > checked the box saying Disable: itunes store. No success! Please someone help. :(
Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.) -
