Going to Italy with my new MacBook Air, where do I get a power convertor?

I just bought a new MacBook Air and am moving to Italy.  Where to I find correct power cord for Europe outlets?

Hi,
All you need is an Adaptor for the Wall Plug Connection... Everything else will be fine...
Line voltage: 100V to 240V AC
Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz

  • Can i use a 85 watt charger with a new macbook air

Can i use a 85 watt charger with a new macbook air that comes with a 45 watt charger. One says its 14.8 volts and the other is 20 volts.

To be clear, the wattage of the adapter is not the power delivered to the Mac, but rather the power the adapter is capable of delivering.
Think of it as the difference between a 200 HP and a 400 HP engine; both can drive at a certain speed with no issues, the difference is what happens if you floor the gas pedal.
The same is true between the higher wattage power adapter that comes with the iPad and the one that comes with iPhones; you can use the higher wattage adapter to charge and iPhone with no issue, but if you try and use the iPhone adapter to charge the iPad it may work, but it will take much, much longer.

  • I am unable to sync my iPad with my new MacBook Air without losing all photos even though both are linked to the same iTunes account

I am unable to sync my iPad with my new MacBook Air without losing all photos even though both are linked to the same iTunes account

Transferring photos from your computer has nothing to do with your iTunes account/Apple ID.
Photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring photos from another, all photos on the iPad that were transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPad first - even if the photos were transferred from the old or different computer to the new computer being used for syncing.
When transferring photos from your computer, what is named the iPod Photo Cache is created on your computer for the photos that are transferred and why you see new photos being transferres are optimized before the actual transfer process. The iPod Photo Cache for these photos on the computer the photos were transferred from is not available on your new computer.
Since all photos on your iPad that were transferred from the old or different computer should remain on that computer, transfer the photos from that computer to your new computer. These photos on your iPad will be erased with the first sync but will be re-transferred along with a new iPod Photo Cache for these photos being created on your new computer.

  • HT204266 I have always synced my iPhone with my PC, what will happen if I sync my iPhone with my new Macbook Air?

I have always synced my iPhone with my PC, what will happen if I sync my iPhone with my new Macbook Air?
I am hoping to switch from being dependent solely on my PC to rarely using it and having freedom to use either more Mac/iPhone and less PC, but I have my MSOffice software on the PC .
I want to sync my iPhone and not lose anything and have a faster experience.

All of the music on my Ipod Touch is blown out after I synched it with my new MacBook. I didn't get the 'synch' warning-- but now can't find my library of songs. I'm about to panic!

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcuded synced media like apps and music. Thes those iTunes are not restored to the iPod unless they are in the iTunes library.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Just bought new macbook air, where do i find iWork?

just bought new macbook air, where do i find iWork?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
iWork applications (Numbers, Pages and Keynote) do not come preinstalled. Instead, you have to download them from the Mac App Store, so open the Mac App Store, choose Purchases at the top and you should see iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand, Numbers, Keynote and Pages as waiting to be accepted, so accept them. Note that you need OS X Mavericks.
If you do not see the iWork applications in the Purchases tab, see > http://www.apple.com/creativity-apps/mac/up-to-date/
(You can check which OS X version you are using in  > About this Mac. 10.9 is OS X Mavericks, and 10.8 is OS X Mountain Lion. If you are using OS X Mountain Lion, first you need to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store and upgrade).

  • Problems with my new MacBook air

Hello, I have a new MacBook Air, OSX MAVERICKS 10.9.2 which I purchased two weeks ago and it is (1) only recognising my log in password sporadically, and (2) it seems to be freezing up very often, when I do get it to recognise me, and (3) I can't open any application without it asking for a keychain password , which it doesn't recognise when I do enter it. any suggestions to help me with this problem?

    Hi
You would probably be best placed to call AppleCare - you get free phone support within 90 days of purchase.

  • Starting problems with a new MacBook Air

I have just bought a new MacBook Air, and have followed the set up assistant all the way to the last page
The message "Thank you, your Mac is now ready to use",appeared and I clicked "Start using Mac"
The rainbow colloured cirkle just keeps on turning - but nothing happens. And it hasn't for 8 hours
In the process I have used an external USB mobile hard drive to transfer data from my old MacBook.
There was no indication of any problem using this in the setup process.
I have after 8 hours in desperation removed the mobile hard drive - with no result.
Please, can someone help me from what is becoming the the turning madness of 'the evil rainbow eye'?

Maybe another shutdown then start, will help: hold the on/off button untill it shuts off.
    Do not connect anything.
When it will not start again, you shutdown and start while holding the three keys at the same time:  the CMD key + Alt(=option) key + R key:
You need an internet connection, it will start in the internet recovery "disk" and then you choose Recover OSX.
    It will take some time.

  • Is there a way to use an ethernet cable and cinema display with the new Macbook Air

I just purchased a new MacBook Air and would like to connect to an ethernet cable and to a 30: cinema display.  Is there an adapter that would allow one to do this?

Yes you need one of these it's a Thunderbolt hubs
    http://www.matrox.com/docking_station/en/ds1/
    Price $249
    Or
    http://www.belkin.com/thunderbolt/
    Price $299
The Belkan is due for release immenantly and note those USB ports are version 3.
This is what Thunderbolt is all about it's an external PCie and far more than just a cable

  • Is data transfer included in the 90-day tech support which comes with a new MacBook Air?

I would think so.  A friend is buying a new MacBook Air, and needs to know if data transfer is included in the 90-day technical support offer from Apple.  I'm pretty sure it is, but just would like to make sure I'm steering her in the right direction.
    Thanks.

Instructions yes, performing the actual data transfer, not likely.  Here are a couple of links that may be useful:

  • Office:mac 2011 was working ok after installed last month which I bought with the new macbook air.  Suddently I no longer can use it (Work, Excel

Office:mac 2011 was working ok after I installed it last month on my new macbook air.  Suddently I no longer can use these programs (Word, Excel, PP) when it's opening a message "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience" appears... I tried to reinstalled it but it's the same.  Can anyone help please?  Thanking you.

Replying to myself here fyi ...    I've just got a MS AutoUpdate 'popup' saying Office 2011  14.3.6 Update ...   After a few minutes ... voila problem was fixed.  Thanks to 'whom it may concern'   I'm happy

  • Target Disk Mode on new MacBook Air - where to find Thunderbolt to Firewire cable?

I use a MacPro desktop with a RAID set-up at home, and will use the new MacBook Air on the road. I need to use Target Disk Mode when I return home to sync my Macs. The MacPro only has Firewire 400/800; the new Air only Thunderbolt. Does anyone know how to find a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter, please?

I, too, would like a TB<->FW adapter, but I'll wager that for 99% of those purchasing a new MBA it is not an issue let alone a serious ommission.
For the rest of 'us' (the remaining 1%) Sonnet has an adapter listed with info due 'later this summer' as to pricing/availability so as Waymen has already stated it may be a while before we see one.
In the meantime, I'll use a combination of USB2 drives (one of my dozen or so USB2 drives--120GB to 1TB--I have lying around), an Ethernet cable, SuperDrive, or AirDrop.  Not as convenient but a usable work around.

  • My iPhone 4 won't connect with my new Macbook Air?

Got a Macbook Air yesterday, and I've always connected my iPhone with a Windows computer. I tried to connect the iPhone to the laptop (via USB) and it kept connecting and unconnecting. It would continuously vibrate and the battery would show charging/not charging over and over again.
I could connect my iPhone with my cable onto my PC, so I don't think it's the cable. I also was able to use a USB drive on the laptop, so I don't think it's the USB port either. Do you have any suggestions? All ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Sound like something is making an intermittent connection. Even though you have used the cable successfully in the past, it might have some new damage or old damage that only causes a problem in certain positions. The cable is also the easiest and cheapest to replace; maybe you could even borrow one long enough to test.
If you bought the MBA new from a brick and mortar Apple Store, take it back for diagnosis.

  • How can I sync my iPhone with my new macbook air that already has music on it?

I need help! I have an Iphone 4 that has all my music on it but I recently got a macbook air that already has all my songs. I want to sync my phone with my itunes but it says i may not want to. What do I do?

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Make sure everything is on the new computer.
